Skarmory @ Leftovers

Adamant Nature

- Swords Dance
- Roost
-BDSP OU
This Skarmory set is very different from the norm. It's main draw is that it's offensive while being decently bulky. These EV's let this skarmory outspeed specially defensive Gliscor, adamant Crawdaunt and Azumarill, while also outspeeding subpunch Breloom while packing a nasty gift: Swords Dance. This Skarmory set can easily set up swords dance on Gliscor, Scizor, Staraptor, outrage-locked Garchomp & Dragonite, as well as Donphan and Shaymin. Weak armor will make you faster than any variant of Gliscor, Lati twins, Alakazam and Weavile. This Skarmoy beats Gliscor, Scizor, Clefable and Blissey by setting up swords-dance, and taunting. If backed by a rocks setter, this Skarmory can also be an effective sweeper assuming counters like Heatran, Magnezone and Rotom-W are disposed of. After a swords dance, this Skarmory guaranteed OHKOs every prominent flying-weak target aside from Tangrowth which cannot harm it, but might actually trigger its weak armor with a knock off. With stealth rock and swords dance up, this Skarmory can OHKO the likes of Garchomp, Mamoswine, Feraligatr, Shaymin, Starmie, while 2HKOing scarf and specs Rotom-W. This Skarmory set is also notable for completely dominating the Scizor matchup, as at +2, it is guaranteed to 2HKO any type of Scizor, on top of Scizor being more than willing in u-turning on it, which will trigger weak armor and let Skarmory set up swords dance for essentially free. This set is hard countered by standard Skarmories that outspeed it, but against the majority of them it can taunt them before they can pull off a whirlwind.

Alakazam @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 44 Atk / 212 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Psychic
- Fire Punch
- Charge Beam
- Focus Punch
-BDSP OU
This Alakazam set lures in 3 important pokemon to get chip on, or beat. This set 2HKOs Scizor with fire punch, while staying away from bullet punch OHKO range.
44 Atk Life Orb Alakazam Fire Punch vs. 248 HP / 8+ Def Scizor: 161-192 (46.9 - 55.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery.
Focus punch allows Alakazam to hit Blissey and specially defensive Heatran, doing approximately 50% to both; and making them unable to wall upcoming assaults from common teammates such as Scizor and Latios. Charge beam is replaceable, but it provides a way to hit Skarmory, Starmie, Togekiss and Feraligatr while having great odds of raising your special attack. This set is walled by common latias sets, but with a simple move change of either focus punch or charge beam into shadow ball or dazzling gleam, you can become an effective answer to all the fairy-weak dragon types in the tier as well as potential switchins such as Weavile. Since this set uses life orb as its item, instead of the more common focus sash, it deals more immediate damage despite having less special attack investment. The main reason to use this set over the standard set with focus blast is its consistency. Focus blast has a nasty tendency to miss, with its 70% accuracy, while fire punch cannot miss and focus punch is highly synergistic as Alakazam very easily forces Blissey and specially defensive Heatran to swap in. Taunt can also be exchanged for one of the moves, as it allows Alakazam to block healing from Blissey. Physically defensive Scizor and completely shut down most variants of this Alakazam.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 108 HP / 252 Atk / 148 Spe

- Swords Dance

Offensive Gliscor is a forgotten threat from the days of DP, but it has aged surprisingly well in the BDSP meta. One of the best things about this set is it’s surprise factor. Gliscor usually takes a very passive role in the meta, acting as a bulky pivot for most teams, and as a defogger for stall. In comparison, this Gliscor is a lot less bulky due to the absence of roost. But not all is hopeless; poison heal lets you heal large amounts of health, while also protecting you from status if it's activated, and having great synergy with fling. Fling lets you select what pokemon you want to cripple with poison, preferably bulky pokemon that glues balance together, and making your job of wallbreaking a lot easier. This gliscor reaches 263 raw speed, allowing it to outspeed most Heatran variants, Jolly Breloom, Dragonite, Adamant Feraligatr and Magnezone. It’s plan is simple, really; it flings toxic orb to a counter such as Rotom-W, crippling it and making it unable to come in much longer. Gliscor’s great natural defenses and poison heal let it be a surprisingly bulky wall breaker that is hard to wear down for many teams. This Gliscor does well with partners such as Magnezone as it can easily get rid of bulky water types that would halt this Gliscor. This Gliscor best fits on Bulky Offense - style teams, as it will have the prominent surprise factor there, and it will be able to cripple important targets such as Infernape, Garchomp, Blissey and Tangrowth.
