EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature

- Stealth Rock / Iron Defense / Curse
- Earthquake / Body Press / Protect

[SET COMMENTS]
Garganacl is a tough defensive wall that uses Salt Cure to wear down defensive Pokemon, like Swampert, Great Tusk, and Corviknight, and utilizes its ability selection to check a variety of different Pokemon. Fluffy allows Garganacl to check Kingambit and Iron Boulder, Water Absorb lets it reliably switch in on defensive Manaphy as well as help with checking Choice-locked Water-types like Barraskewda, Walking Wake, and Primarina, and Earth Eater lets it check Roaring Moon and Dragonite running Earthquake. Stealth Rock lets Garganacl support its teammates by providing entry hazards, while with Iron Defense or Curse, Garganacl can set up on and more easily check Pokemon like Iron Hands, Ceruledge, and Dragonite, and boost Body Press or Earthquake, depending on the set. When using Body Press, Garganacl can more efficiently take on Chien-Pao as well as a majority of other Pokemon, while with Earthquake, it can deal with Iron Boulder and Pecharunt. Protect lets Garganacl deal extra damage with Salt Cure active as well as gain some extra Leftovers recovery. Garganacl can either use Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots, the former letting it gain more recovery through Protect and the latter helping Garganacl switch in more often. Garganacl provides great defensive support to frail offensive Pokemon, like Iron Moth, Gengar, and Galarian Zapdos, as a to check faster Pokemon like Roaring Moon, Dragonite, and Iron Boulder. Garganacl can struggle against special attackers, such as Walking Wake, Azelf, and offensive Gholdengo, so having specially defensive teammates, like Hisuian Goodra, Manaphy, and Blissey, can help. Garganacl enjoys being on more defensive teams for having teammates that can take on physical attackers with it, such as Pecharunt, Mandibuzz, and Primarina, as it struggles to reliably check Pokemon like Chien-Pao, Zamazenta, and Barraskewda.

“Salt Cure is a fucking broken move, broken enough to justify running something as otherwise-mediocre as Garganacl.” Fixed the first sentence

Garganacl is a tough defensive wall, using Salt Cure to ware wear I know this is a GP thing but this hurts me too much to ignore it down defensive Pokemon like Swampert, Great Tusk, and Corviknight, while Salt Cure does wear down Great Tusk a bit, Tusk can offset it with Regenerator and Leftovers, so a better example would be Empoleon or Manaphy well as using its ability selection to check a variety of different Pokemon. With Fluffy it can check Chien-Pao and Iron Boulder might be cool to add another example, maybe Iron Hands or Ogerpon-H?, Water Absorb can help with checking Barraskewda though it can be risky due to Close Combat, super important to add that it blocks Swampert from Flip Turning and it can also stop Walking Wake once it uses a water move since Wake is nearly always choiced and with Earth Eater it can check Roaring Moon and Dragonite. could also use another example, perhaps Garchomp or Lando-T? Stealth Rock lets Garganacl support its teammates by providing entry hazards, while with Iron Defense or Curse, Garganacl can become harder to take down with Pokemon like Iron Hands, Ceruledge, and Zamazenta, while also boosting its Body Press or Earthquake power. Protect provides Garganacl extra damage with Salt Cure active as well as some extra Leftovers recovery when using it, with Body Press it can more efficiently take down Pokemon like Chien-Pao and Blissey while with Earthquake it can deal with Gengar and Iron Moth Iron Boulder and non Earth Eater Perchuant. more common examples and better ones since Boulder still gets chipped down by Body Press and Pecharunt easily takes EQ and can just Toxic Garg Garganacl can either use Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots with Leftovers letting it gain more recovery through Protect while Heavy-Duty Boots helps Garganacl switch in more often. Garganacl provides a great help to frail offensive Pokemon like Iron Moth, Gengar, and Galarian Zapdos, as a to check faster Pokemon like Chien-Pao, Roaring Moon, and Iron Boulder. Garganacl can struggle against special attackers such as Walking Wake, Azelf, and Offensive Gholdengo, Azelf, Gholdengo, and Walking Wake without Water Absorb, its important to specify, also it struggles with Ghold anyways so no need to specify on that so having specially defensive teammates like Hisuian Goodra, Manaphy, and Blissey can help. Maybe add how it also struggles with strong physical attackers like Tusk and CB Zama?

Garganacl is a tough defensive wall, using Salt Cure to ware wear down defensive Pokemon like Swampert, Great Tusk, and Corviknight, as well as using its ability selection to check a variety of different Pokemon. With Fluffy it can check Chien-Pao A bit skeptical on this since Crash does ~42% and Fluffy doesn't really help against it, another example may be more applicable and Iron Boulder, Water Absorb can help with checking Barraskewda though it can be risky due to Close Combat It also lets you reliably switch into defensive Manaphy, and with Earth Eater it can check Roaring Moon and Dragonite running Earthquake. Stealth Rock lets Garganacl support its teammates by providing entry hazards, while with Iron Defense or Curse, Garganacl can become harder to take down with Pokemon like Iron Hands, Ceruledge, and Zamazenta I think you want to say that Garg can set up on these with Curse/ID, but I'd both reword it to make that clearer while also swapping Zama out, since you don't win vs either sets, while also boosting its Body Press or Earthquake power. Protect provides Garganacl extra damage with Salt Cure active as well as some extra Leftovers recovery when using it, with Body Press it can more efficiently take down Pokemon like Chien-Pao and Blissey Blissey isn't staying in on Garg, can just mention that it's a good general move while with Earthquake it can deal with Iron Boulder and non Earth Eater EE isn't a particulary notable set Perchuant Pecharunt. Garganacl can either use Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots with Leftovers letting it gain more recovery through Protect while Heavy-Duty Boots helps Garganacl switch in more often. Garganacl provides a great help to frail offensive Pokemon like Iron Moth, Gengar, and Galarian Zapdos, as a to check faster Pokemon like Chien-Pao See earlier comments, Roaring Moon, and Iron Boulder. Garganacl can struggle against special attackers such as Walking Wake, Azelf, and Offensive Gholdengo, so having specially defensive teammates like Hisuian Goodra, Manaphy, and Blissey can help. Could also mention that it falters against some physical attackers (Fighting-types come to mind) and that a secondary wall might be needed, as garg is mostly used on fatter teams

With Fluffy, Garganacl can check Kingambit and Iron Boulder, Water Absorb can let it reliably switch in on defensive Manaphy as well as help with checking Barraskewda though it can be risky due to Close Combat I would also mention just generally water immunities are nice to have cause of choice item guys like Wake, and with Earth Eater it can check Roaring Moon and Dragonite running Earthquake. Stealth Rock lets Garganacl support its teammates by providing entry hazards, while with Iron Defense or Curse Garganacl can set-up on and more easily check Pokemon like Iron Hands, Ceruledge, and Dragonite, while also boosting its Body Press or Earthquake power.
