[OVERVIEW]
Alakazam is a very centralizing and extremely good offensive Pokémon in the tier. Its high special attack combined with its speed gives it the ability to outspeed most Pokémon in the tier as well as knocking them out. The moves it is given such as Psychic and Psyshock provide it insane STAB attack power, and moves like Focus Blast and Shadow Ball provide it coverage against most of the commonly used Pokémon in the metagame. Its ability, Magic Guard, allows it to use items like Focus sash steadily to cripple bulky Pokémon or revenge kill faster Pokémon. It can also use Life Orb well, for Magic guard allows it to not take chip from the item, and in return do insane amounts of damage.

Nasty plot gives Alakazam the boost in special attack it needs to be able to sweep teams. The Pokémon's sheer special attack stat is very powerful, but it lacks the ability to one shot Pokémon like tyranitar, magnezone, clefable, and more, which is why nasty plot is useful.
