ok so its ur boy back at it again. Gonna post a team that is sample worthy along with debunking the awful teams stableprince posted above

I present...*drumroll*

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 12 Def / 32 SpD / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Beam
- Will-O-Wisp
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind

Entei @ Rockium Z
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 44 Def / 208 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Stone Edge
- Sacred Fire
- Laser Focus
Gyarados and Gardevoir serve as the main core of the team with gyarados's blessed 155 attack stat alongside taunt and dragon dance allow it to fire off powerful STAB Waterfalls and pick up kills, Gardevoir compliments it beautifully by threatening pokemon such as Tapu Fini, Primarina and Zeraora while Gyarados threatens Fire types like Heatran. Entei finishes up the team as a counter to both Charizard X and Y alongside Magearna and Genesect.

Gyarados: I picked to build around this because its a great mon that can beat a lot of the metagame. Gyarados can boost its attack and speed to enable KOs and shut down stall mons such as Type: NullI with taunt. It beats sturdies such as Golem and Donphan with Waterfall. Outrage allows it
to beat pokemon such as Naganadel and Dragonite.

Gardevoir: Gyarados enjoys having a team mate to deal with fighting types, a few electric types and grass types like Venusaur. I was drawn to Gardevoir due to the Psychic/Fairy coverage edging its way over Tapu Lele as I did not desire its use to counter Dragonite and some charizard sets. Hyper Beam is an extremely strong stab move which is boosted by Pixilate, Calm Mind is to boost its stats, Will-O-Wisp lets it beat a variety of physical pokemon although not many due to the lack of bulk. Psyshock is for pokemon that like to Calm Mind / Amnesia up so that you can hit their defense stat instead and in most cases, kill on the spot. It is also useful for Poison types such as the aforementioned Venusaur that beats Gyarados.

Entei: A very underrated mon, I picked it over something like Charizard x because it can counter Steel types such as Magearna and Fire Types such as Charizard Y and Charizard X. Entei carries Sacred Fire as its STAB move to hit pokemon such as Genesect and Magearna which threaten the GyaraGard core. Stone Edge is used with Rockium-Z to use a 180 BP Rock move ohkoing the aforementioned fire types. Extreme Speed is used for priority and Laser Focus guarantees a critical hit on pokemon such as Magearna to avoid the Iron Defense boost.

Here we go, 10 teams that have the potential to become a sample team. None of them have a description because that would be too time consuming, but I will make one for any team that ends up becoming a sample.
I tried to only use high tier Pokemon and to repeat them in multiple teams as little as possible, to give a better variety.
I'll use common threats for these ones.
1st Team: Type: Null and Sableye, etc
2nd Team: GroundZ Donphan, Incineroar and YawnTect Swampert, etc
3rd team: Kommo-o, GroundZ Donphan, Sableye, etc

There's a common pattern in these teams of losing to COMMON threats, they have unexplained sets and evs. And you refuse to explain the damn teams. I can't be arsed doing the other teams but it's fairly likely they are similar

e: bcz im a really nice person I'll longen the description that nobody fucking reads.

Ok, I've got some thoughts about this one. First of all, Why this team? You do a very bad job explaining why this team is the way it is. Why is Entei here, as opposed to it's other counterparts? Why not something like Char X? Stating that you don't know how to write this is no excuse for not even trying. Use your experiences playing with this team on the ladder to give your thoughts, the team's weaknesses, what is does well against, why the members deserve their spot, all that stuff. I can't critique the team until you give me substance. I don't know why this team is this way, so I can't really analyze it. But one thing I can say is that you should probably use outrage and crunch on M-Gyra instead of Waterfall. Crunch is just a lot more powerful IMO, as most of the things that waterfall hits super effectively die to Crunch/Outrage anyways, and the same can't be said for Waterfall. You do lose to the sturdy ground types, but it's worth it to win against the bulky psychic's. However, that's just personal choice, not really criticism. So take that into effect, or don't. Your choice.

But you are right about stableprince. Come on man, you need to justify all of your teams. If you don't want to, then don't make a post. And take away all of the filler teams, and just keep your 3 favorites, and provide full reasoning as to why those are good teams for people just learning to use. But this also applies too, Kaif. If you can't "Be arsed to doing the other teams" then don't assume that those are the same. Either stick to only the first three and don't mention the others except to say that you won't mention them, or go through all of them. Don't be a hypocrite. And none of the threats you mentioned are very "COMMON" either. The only ones that I've seen even semi consistently are Donphan and Type Null. It is bad that the teams lose to all of those threats, but don't try and make it seem worse than it is already. And don't put an etc. if you only provide two examples. That's just lazy.

+1 252+ SpA Meloetta Psyshock vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Gardevoir-Mega: 151-178 (54.3 - 64%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252 SpA Gardevoir-Mega Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Meloetta: 144-171 (35.6 - 42.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0+ Atk Gyarados-Mega Waterfall vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Meloetta: 171-202 (42.3 - 50%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO
8+ Atk Entei Sacred Fire vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Meloetta: 166-196 (41 - 48.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Slowbro-Mega @ Slowbronite
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Iron Defense
- Amnesia
- Slack Off

rest struggles against mGyara, you have to rely on scald burn (which you can easily do, you get 5 free turns to do that and it's a 30% chance, but its unreliable), but slack off straight up bodies it

Lopunny-Mega @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Giga Impact
- High Jump Kick
- Thunder Punch

entei doesnt do enough damage, garde just dies, tpunch isnt even strictly necessary but it's better with than without.

Whimsicott @ Occa Berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leech Seed

ok kind of a stretch but I can't not include whimsi

Medicham-Mega @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Rock Tomb
- Thunder Punch
- High Jump Kick

it's rolls against mGardevoir and Entei, but they're like 80% in Medicham's favor. You can just switch up tpunch with bullet punch but then it becomes rolls against mGyara (which are just 65% in medicham's favor).
smh dont you dare say my teams lose to common threats again

yeah, you're right, it's just a lot of work to put on such a large amount of teams. I'll be doing that in the days to come, but since I got asked to put up these 10 teams I didn't want to take an eternity to do so, cause it would've looked like I backed out and refused to do it. Also I'm not super familiar with these teams since I don't use them often or I haven't used them in a long time.

read the fucking description before u comment
what the fuck do u mean "crunch is just a lot more powerful" when its dark 80 bp stab, waterfall is water 80 bp stap. You have Gardevoir to beat Tapu Lele, Entei to beat magearna. If you want to know why entei is there and why zardx isn't, then u clearly didn't read the post and just randomly commented on it.

Ok, so continuing onto the part about stableprince's post "type null and donphan are the only ones I've seen 'semi consistently'". Going to use april stats since may stats aren't out yet, Swampert 10th in usage, Kommo-o 12th in usage, Sableye a bit lower in 43rd and Incineroar at 37th. Meanwhile, donphan is 24th. How you've seen more donphan than pert / kommo-o is beyond me. You can also take a look at https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/1v1pl-iii-replays-stats.3648281/post-8140771 to see the usage in the highest level of play. Kommo-o is 9th there. Having an opinion isn't wrong and I respect those that publicize what they think about something, but making a post that is blatantly uninformed is just unacceptable and does nothing to augment what you were trying to brief.

and..stableprince is back at it again just before I posted.

I understand that, but why don't you ask whoever asked you to post this to explain? Have them tell you the description and then put it in your own words. And if that's not possible for whatever reason, then go through the VR and rank if a poke wins against reliably against 1, 2, or 3 of your team. Or in whatever terms you see fit. At least put in the matchups if you have no personal experience playing with the team.

Thanks for the recent submissions, guys. We'll be looking over these and will decide if any of them will be added to the main samples list. I'll let these posts stay up because I respect the attempts at constructive criticism, but please try to tone down the arguing. We look over all of the submissions as they're posted here and let you know if your submissions are accepted, and explain why if they weren't.

Also, please remember include descriptions before submitting so we can understand your mindset with each team and to properly judge its value as a potential sample team. It makes this whole process faster. Thanks. :)

This is a easy to use team with some counters. the core is aegislash and m-altaria, these 2 mons cover a lot of meta. Then there is zereora to fix some Mons that are relatively fast and use sleep etc.
192+ speed on zereora is to outspeed Mons like loppuny.
Aegislash his ability makes it possible to tank some powerfull fire and ground moves.
Altaria is sort of a finishing touch to a lot of physical attackers, with it being able to get +3 defense t1 making it for Mons like gyarados, donphan, garchomp impossible to kill.

Although this meloetta may look weird, it beats and baits litteraly every dark type. 128speed makes it possible to be faster than gyara and relic song, fight z kills 100% even with -1. Threats like weavile which are faster dont even KO with dark z. It hits lots of other dark types by not even transforming but Just using fight z (things that have 4x weakness to fighting.
Greninja, greninja can run many different sets, this set beats dragon types that greninja cant beat with ice beam, and still being able to kill both zards.
Salamence is not common due to being a "thinking" to be a worse dragonite Although, dragonite cant outspeed what salamence can.

While the teams in themselves don't seem half bad, I think they are not very fit as sample teams. They use very weird unused sets for most of the mons and they have unseeming matchups (it wouldn't be very intuitive for a new player to pick a psychic type to beat a dark type). Bait teams in general don't seem good for samples.

Besides that, descriptions are very lackluster, they describe things about the mons that we already know without getting into detail on what those moms actually beat. Also some of those very specific EVs should be explained

For the aegislash team why Steelium? Ghostium does just fine, along with running 252/252 hp/spa quiet. Also the EVs on aegi are for what???? Honestly, mixed defensive altaria and ghostium regular aegi would do better here

but that's not even real bait, he's just using a bulkier version of lele to beat zard, everything else is standard. Things like Icium Z Greninja and Fightinium Z Meloetta are more legit bait

Mega Metagross + Mega Slowbro is one of the best cores in the current metagame. The first being a very strong bulky powerhouse with a very good typing, that can take on the likes of Tapu Lele and Mega Gardevoir with ease. Its very high bulk allows it to tank hits such as Dark Pulse from Greninja and Crunch from Mega Gyarados, which would otherwise pose a threat to Mega Slowbro, and KO back with moves like Thunder Punch and Meteor Mash. It can also use the combination of Laser Focus and Earthquake to beat Magearna. The latter uses it's extremely high bulk paired with the amazing duo of abilities Oblivious and Shell Armor, to stall out opponents like Donphan and Zygarde, which would otherwise KO Metagross. Its water typing also gives good coverage against Fire Types, typing which Metagross struggles against. The duo overall struggles against Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y, Genesect and Aegislash, so Specially Defensive Mega Tyranitar is perfectly fit as a third teammate. Its EVs allow it to tank Bug Buzz from Choice Specs Genesect and the combo of electroweb into Gigavolt Havoc from Magnezone. It also provides a dark typing to better handle Whimsicott, in absence of bullet punch.
Overall this team lacks Offensive Boosting capabilities, so Pokemon like Type: Null who can set up defensively have the upper hand. You might also struggle against very strong offensive forces such as Choice Band Kartana, who can ohko Mega Slowbro and Tyranitar without having to worry about Metagross' attacks

Here we go, 10 teams that have the potential to become a sample team. None of them have a description yet, because that requires a considerable amount of time which I do not have at the moment, so I will edit the thread with explanations in the near future.
I tried to only use high tier Pokemon and to repeat them in multiple teams as little as possible, to give a better variety.
Noice teams... im gonna go over them one by one to see weaknesses oke

First team: Metagross Slowbro TTar
idek what laser focus does so ill leave this be
Second team: Haxorus Aggron Gardevoir
uhh so like this team loses to bunch
Donphan, Celesteela, Incineroar, Heatran (Scarf haxo doesnt kill).
All notable threats.........
Third team:
wtf is that excadrill? one of the worst mons...... not reflecting of the meta at all......
where do i start...... how about
LOSING TO KOMMOO. komooo is very used and very good and losing to it is like....
loses to aggron, Celesteela again,
GETS 50/50ed BY FUCKING SPDEF MEGA CHARIZARD X..
also loses to like donphan and scarf gene
enough said next team
Fourth team:
weird zard evs, live timid specs gren and timid naganadel ig.... but like...... wut
kinda loses to conv pz, megasaur, and like stally mons
Fith:
Firstly like...... wtf
Gyarados's speed is 240.... thats like tryna speed tie with everything. Add 4 more evs to speed pls ur getting 2.5-0ed by timid zone
Also like mono bug weakness nocieu... you lose to genesect with tbolt (50/50s gyara ig...?)
also loses to grass and electric types: bulu, raikou, zeraora, kew, and Z-PZ
Sixth:
Loses to fast zardy.....
groundz garchomp
like these two enough make it a bad team
Seventh:
zeraora 3-0
slowbro
bdrum zardx
megasaur
Ayth
well like HPGround zone.........................
loses to dnite (with eq and espeed)
loses to ganagadel
Nointh
taunt lele
taunt zmadness fini
taunt bulu
taunt gardevoir
taunt fairies in general
Tointh
greninja
tyranitar
hoopa
gyarados
dark types in general
Eleveneth
Serious nature mawile noiceu
loses to fast zards AND magearna
and a lot more but not even worth going into those

Like overall, some of these teams could have decent success laddering but none of them are strong and all of them have major weaknesses

Sample team submissions are for sending your top few teams, knowing that they are good

its not exporting your entire teambuilder and just hoping that you can get one in

ok so its ur boy back at it again. Gonna post a team that is sample worthy along with debunking the awful teams stableprince posted above

I present...*drumroll*

Gyarados-Mega @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 12 Def / 32 SpD / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature

- Dragon Dance

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Entei: A very underrated mon, I picked it over something like Charizard x because it can counter fire types that threaten Gyarados such as Charizard X which can beat both Gyarados and Gardevoir if it is physically bulky as well as bulky Charizard Y. Entei carries Sacred Fire as its STAB move to hit pokemon such as Genesect and Magearna which threaten the GyaraGard core. Stone Edge is used with Rockium-Z to use a 180 BP Rock move ohkoing the aforementioned fire types. Extreme Speed is used for priority and Laser Focus guarantees a critical hit on pokemon such as Magearna to avoid the Iron Defense boost.

time for some fun

I'll use common threats for these ones.
1st Team: Type: Null and Sableye, etc
2nd Team: GroundZ Donphan, Incineroar and YawnTect Swampert, etc
3rd team: Kommo-o, GroundZ Donphan, Sableye, etc

There's a common pattern in these teams of losing to COMMON threats, they have unexplained sets and evs. And you refuse to explain the damn teams. I can't be arsed doing the other teams but it's fairly likely they are similar

e: bcz im a really nice person I'll longen the description that nobody fucking reads.
finally decided to look at this team, and even though you say that entei was used because Zard-X threatens Gyarados.....???????
Gyarados beats willo zardx if its running aterfall + outrage + dd (which it is)

Bdrum Zardx would be a better 3rd mon for this team, it beats the zardy threat as well as covering a lot of the stall mons that the core loses to (like slowbro). It also still maintains the matchups against genesect and magearna, carrying even stronger fire type STAB.

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 212 HP / 12 Atk / 176 SpD / 108 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flame Charge
- Flare Blitz
- Belly Drum
- Outrage

I mean good core but third mon would be better as zardx

mb I wasn't supposed to write that gyarados is threatened by zardx, must have mistyped it. Slowbro doesn't beat gardevoir. You can even switch up Hyper Voice and Encore to beat stuff like serp slowbro registeel if ur facing issues. Entei was used over zardx because I wanted to use something outside of the standard 10 mons that everyone spams. It doesn't lose any matchups except having to burn Metagross (primarily the only weakness).

Magnetic Metagross Balance
Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 96 HP / 160 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake / Ice Punch
- Magnet Rise
- Substitute

Tapu Fini @ Tapunium Z
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 12 SpA / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nature's Madness
- Brine
- Moonblast
- Taunt / Calm Mind

Haxorus @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Superpower
- Iron Tail
- Earthquake
This team is built around Magnet Rise Mega-Metagross, an excellent Pokemon due to it's immense attack and it's ability to counter a large portion of the metagame. Maximum speed is crucial on this set as it allows you to defeat opposing Metagross and to Magnet Rise before the opponent attacks. 96 EVs in HP allows Metagross to survive Adamant Scarf Landorus-T's EQ, meaning it can defeat all of the metagame's top ground type threats using Magnet Rise with the exception of Zygarde-C. Substitute functions as an excellent utility move as it allows you to create more favourable matchups against opposing Steel types such as Magearna or Aegislash. Tapu Fini excels in that it beats many threats that Metagross can't handle, namely Water and Fire types. Guardian of Alola is Fini's primary damaging move, removing 3/4 of the opponents HP meaning it is easy to finish off with a boosted Brine attack. 152 EVs in Defense along with a bold nature allows Fini to bulk 2 Thunder Punches from a 252 Attack Metagross while 96 Evs in speed ensures that it will outspeed fast Magearna. Taunt prevents this team from being vulnerable to stall mons, but Calm Mind may also be ran to avoid pressure from Slowbro. The final team slot goes to Haxorus, creating the powerful Dragon/Fairy/Steel team core. Haxorus' primary function on the team is to defeat mons that Metagross and Tapu Fini struggle against, such as Zeraora, Charizard-Y and Z-Conversion Porygon-Z. 252 EVs in Speed means it will outspeed any mon with 150 base Speed or less, as well as other scarf users such as non-timid Porygon-Z and Tapu Lele. Maximum Attack is mandatory in order to defeat glass cannon Pokemon before Haxorus itself gets attack. Outrage is Haxorus' primary attack, with the other moveslots going to powerful coverage moves.

Maximum Attack is mandatory in order to defeat glass cannon Pokemon before Haxorus itself gets attack. Outrage is Haxorus' primary attack, with the other moveslots going to powerful coverage moves.
Just wondeing, why are you putting HP EVs on haxo? Even though you are already hitting one speed tier, it never hurts to outspeed more, especially when the HP evs dont really help you live anything. Also, current +1 Haxo speed doesnt outspeed max speed zeraora.

Ty I didn't notice max zera outsped, and I gotta agree that the HP is meaningless especially since I'm losing the win chance vs other Haxorus

252+ SpA Adaptability Porygon-Z Hyper Beam vs. 144 HP / 96 SpD Gardevoir-Mega: 264-312 (84.3 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
while being faster than Vivillon and Timid Max Speed Non-Scarf Porygon-Z. The leftover EVs were added to Special Attack to give it more power. Will-O-Wisp helps to beat Mega Gyarados and other physical attackers. Calm Mind is used to boost stats and Hyper Voice beats stuff like Whimsicott. Psyshock can also be used as an alternative.
Entei is present in the team as the Zard counter, primarily being used to beat Charizard X and Y alongside pokemon such as Registeel and Magearna. Sacred Fire is used as Fire STAB and Extreme Speed for priority. Laser Focus helps beat stall mons such as the aforementioned Registeel. Stone Edge boosted by Rockium Z fires off a very powerful Continental Crush.
Slowbro patches up the holes of Gardevoir and Entei, beating Metagross reliably as well as other threats such as Meloetta and Lopunny. Iron Defense and Amnesia boost up Defense and Special Defense respectively. Scald serves as STAB and Rest beats pokemon that can poison Slowbro as well as PP Stall

Type: Null is very underrated and it has a huge potential to handle the majority of high ranked Pokemon. It is similar to Porygon2 with spectacular defensive bulk boosted by Eviolite, however what sets it apart is that it learns Iron Defense and Confide, and its ability Battle Armor. These two combined make Type: Null a very formidable wall that only has one weakness that cannot be crit, and can beat most Hyper Offensive and Bulky Offense Pokemon, such as Magearna, Dragonite, Aegislash, Choice Specs Greninja, Meloetta, Mega Metagross, Naganadel and many more . It outspeeds uninvested Primarina so it does not get locked by Encore.
Mega Tyranitar manages both Mega Charizards, Tapu Lele and Mega Slowbro. This set has Screech specifically to deal with the boosts that Tapu Lele gets from Reflect. Taunt prevents opposing Taunts with Rock Tomb slowing faster opponents down.
The main threats to Type: Null and Mega Tyranitar are Mega Gyarados, Mega Gardevoir and Tapu Fini, which Mega Mawile can deal with aptly. Power-Up Punch lets Mega Mawile boost its Attack through other Taunt users. The bulk lets it survive an attack from Choice Band Garchomp.
