IVs=Individual Values:
IVs represent the unchanging genes of Pokémon, each Pokemon stat has IVs between 0 and 31, 1 IV point gives 1 stat point at level 100, IVs are much more important than nature, find out IVs from the stats judge in the house above the Pokémon Center in Battle Frontier.
1.) IV total: Average 0 to 90, Better-than-average 91 to 120, Quite impressive 121 to 150, Wonderfully outstanding 151 to 186
2.) Highest IV: Relatively good 0 to 15, Quite impressive 16 to 25, Outstanding 26 to 30, Flawless 31
EVs=Effort Values:
EVs are accumulated by defeating Pokemon, each Pokemon gives EVs for a certain stat e.g. Shuppet +1 Atk, accrue max. 510 EVs per Pokemon and max. 252 EVs per stat, every 4th EV point results in 1 stat point at level 100, Pokemon that carry Exp. Share also get EVs, Macho Brace doubles the wearer's EVs received, Vitamins give 10 EVs each and have a 100 EVs limit per stat, HP investment is better than Def or Sp.Def because it affects both, Speed is usually the most important stat, so max 252 Speed EVs with nature Timid/Jolly until speed base value 70 except if Agility/Dragon Dance/Swift Swim/Chlorophyll, EVs are transferable without leveling up by storing Pokemon on PC, EVs can be released again through certain berries where each berry deducts 10 EVs e.g. Pomeg Berry reduces HP, if EVs are over 110 they are always reduced directly to 100, EV training with wild transformed Dittos gets the EVs of the transformation e.g. +3 Atk for Groudon, Save time with settings in Options: Text Speed Fast, Battle Scene Off, Battle Style Set
EV training:
HP: Rusturf Tunnel: Whismur 1EV
Attack: Mt. Pyre GF: Shuppet 1EV
Defense: Magma Hideout: Geodude 1EV, Graveler 2EVs, Torkoal 2EVs
Sp. Atk: Route 113: Spinda 1EV, Slugma 1EV
Sp. Def: Route 114: Swablu 1EV, Lotad 1EV, Lombre 2EVs
Speed: Route 118: Wingull 1EV, Zigzagoon 1EV, Linoone 2EVs, Electrike 1EV, Manectric 2EVs
Game mechanics:
Damage Classes in Gen 3 depend on type of move: Physical/Attack: Normal, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Steel; Special/Sp. Atk: Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Dark
Critical hit: deals double damage unaffected by stat changes
Nature: increases one stat by 10% and lowers another by 10%, but IVs are much more important than nature
STAB=Same-type attack bonus: strengthens attacks of the same type as Pokémon by 50%, regardless of whether they are mono or dual type
Each stat has a max value of 999 (up to 3rd generation): Salamence Dragon Dance 6 times: 245*4=980 Attack at level 60; Slaking Bulk Up 6 times: 278*4=1112 Attack at level 60; Marowak Swords Dance 3 times: 344*4=1376 Attack at level 60
According to Werster levels with 0, 3, 5, 8 as last digit have better stats, so e.g. try to get lv.55 or 60 for Battle Frontier Pokemon
In Gen 3 damage of attacks that hit both opposing Pokémon is reduced by 50%, this doesn't apply to attacks like Earthquake or Explosion, which hit all Pokémon (Spikes and Icy Wind are also useful)
Status conditions:
Burn: The Pokémon deals only half damage with physical moves, special moves are unaffected and loses 1/8 or 12.5% of its max HP each turn Paralysis: Initiative is quarter = 25% of its original value and there's a 25% chance each round that it cannot attack, slowdown starts turn after use
Confusion: Opponent only 50% chance to attack, lasts for 2–5 rounds
Attract: Opponent only 50% chance to attack, only works if opponent is of opposite gender to user, works regardless of type immunity, gender-unknown Pokémon are immune, male gender is more common than female
Sleep: 1-6 rounds in gen 3, can't perform attacks
Freeze: Since gen 3 on each turn a frozen Pokémon has a 20% chance of being thawed out, all damaging Fire-type moves can thaw a frozen target
Emerald Battle Frontier:
Bettings: on the easternmost house when you have 3/4 silver symbols, doubles BP wagered, max 30 BP if won
Frontier Brains only appear in Single Battle: Battle Arena Greta: after 4 (Silver) and 8 (Gold) rounds win streak, Battle Factory Noland: 3 and 6, Battle Dome Tucker: 5 and 10, Battle Pike Lucy: 2 and 10, Battle Palace Spenser: 3 and 6, Battle Pyramid Brandon: 3 and 10, Battle Tower Anabel: 5 and 10
Pokemon for Battle Frontier shouldn't exceed level 60, otherwise you'd have to train too much and easily reach the max stat value of 999
Clone Pokemon with items: safe glitch without data loss, go to the Battle Tower, put Pokemon you want to clone on the PC, save, get the Pokemon you want to clone, talk to the Link Multi Battle woman (far right), turn the Gameboy off before saving when the saving box appears (yes/no)
Catch Sudowoodo: water the strange tree near the Battle Palace with the Wailmer Pail
Double Battle strategies:
1.) Slaking (Persim Berry; Earthquake, Rock Slide, Bulk Up, Slack Off) + Xatu (Skill Swap, Swagger, Light Screen, Confuse Ray) + Gengar (Skill Swap, Swagger) + Aerodactyl (Yellow Flute)
2.) Follow Me (Clefable/Furret/Togetic) + Belly Drum (Charizard/Linoone with Swift) or Dragon Dance (Gyarados/Salamence/Dragonite/Tyranitar) + Psych Up (Altaria/Claydol/Metagross)
3.) Ludicolo (Swift Swim; Rain Dance, Surf, Ice Beam, Giga Drain) + Kingdra (Swift Swim; Rain Dance, Surf, Ice Beam, Rest) + Electabuzz (Thunder, Fire Punch, Psychic, Ice Punch) + Zapdos (Thunder, Rain Dance, Steel Wing, Drill Peck)
4.) Ditto (Transform into Metagross) + Metagross (Explosion, Protect, Shadow Ball, Earthquake) + Sableye (Fake Out, Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Recover) + Electrode (Choice Band; Explosion)
5.) Earthquake + Immunity: Salamence/Dragonite/Altaria, Flygon(STAB), Gyarados, Gligar(STAB), Claydol(STAB), Aerodactyl, Charizard (Sand Veil: Tyranitar + Gligar)
6.) Sunny Day + Chlorophyll + Solar Beam: Castform, Victreebel/Vileplume, Houndoom, Exeggutor
Breed:
Inherit nature: if the female parent or Ditto carries Everstone in breeding, she has a 50% chance of passing on her nature
Inherit attacks: only male parents can pass on Egg Moves, cause the female determines the species
(Also if both parents know a move the child can learn by level up it gets it transferred as egg move e.g. Spore for Lv.5 Shroomish)
Ditto can create eggs with: Beldum, female Snorlax, Chansey, Miltank, Castform, Sudowoodo, Anorith, Lileep, Staryu, Porygon
IVs inheritance: a total of 3 random IVs are inherited from parents to egg, that results in 1-3 new inherited IVs if the same IV was inherited multiple times, the remaining 3-5 IV values of the egg are random, HP (only as 1st of 3) and Defense (only as 1st and 2nd of 3) IVs are unlikely/rarely inherited
Inherit max (31) IVs: catch many Dittos with Repeat Ball and check their IVs, 100% catch rate with Wurmple/Zigzagoon (Item: Smoke Ball) after Transform, 1/4 chance of passing on a max IV with perfect IVs Ditto
Useful abilities outside of battle:
More often items: Ability Compound Eyes of e.g. Nincada (first slot in party, even if defeated), wild Pokemon carry items 50% more common
Faster hatching: Ability Flame Body or Magma Armor of e.g. Slugma (in the party, even if fainted), halves the steps at which an egg hatches
Determine nature: Ability Synchro of e.g. Abra (top of team, even if fainted), wild Pokémon have 50% chance of same nature as Synchro Pokemon
Find items: Ability Pickup of e.g. Linoone (in the party, not holding an item), 10% chance of finding an item after a fight, even if it did not participate
More encounters: Ability Illuminate or Arena Trap of e.g. Trapinch (top of team, even if fainted), doubles Pokemon encounter rate
Less encounters: Ability Intimidate or Stench of e.g. Gyarados (top of team, even if fainted), at least 5 levels lower encounters reduced by 50%
Easier fishing: Ability Sticky Hold or Suction Cups of e.g. Gulpin (top of team, even if fainted), increases the probability of fishing wild Pokémon
Determine gender: Ability Cute Charm of e.g. Jigglypuff (top of team, even if fainted), 66.7% chance of wild Pokémon of the opposite gender
Highest level encounters: Ability Pressure/Hustle of e.g. Absol (top of team, even if fainted), 50% chance that wild Pokémon will be of highest level
Increased grass cutting radius in overworld: Ability Hyper Cutter of e.g. Corphish, HM Cut within a two-square radius, instead of a one-square radius
Battle Factory:
Due to programming error, the opponent's IVs increase depends on the completed Battle Tower rounds for all facilities, opposing Pokemon always only have 3 IVs if there are no rounds in the Battle Tower, hence if possible don't trade any Pokemon and pick a good team in selection draft, have a very good 2nd Pokemon as the team's focal point and build around it, Speed is the most important stat, fast but frail is better than slow but robust, always have a physical attacker for Blissey/Snorlax/Regice, use Pokemon with explosion, always swap Pokemon according to type/role, have Pokemon with diverse type attacks, combine crippler with stat increaser, usually change Pokemon after the first defeated Trainer-Pokemon, Level 50 is easier than Open Level, AI gets better until round 5, Attack sets get better until round 8, from round 8 onwards there are Dragonite/Tyranitar and Legendaries, Beat rounds 1 and 2 while swapping every single time so that in round 3 you get your first elevated IVs and better moveset Pokemon in your rental draft as first on the left of the 6, every rental draft process also counts as 3 swaps: less than 15 swaps: 0 elevated Pokemon, 15-21: 1, 22-28: 2, 29-35: 3, 36-42: 4, 43 or greater: 5
Miscellaneous:

RNG manipulation:
for perfect IVs Pokemon (breed, wild or static), Shinies, 70 Hidden Power or Mirage Island via Eon Timer and PokéFinder (contains IV Calculator).
RNG has 60 frames per second, so for example 2297 frames equals 38.28 seconds for static Mudkip Adamant 27,25,29,11,28,31
RNG manipulate for wild/static Pokemon:
Settings: Sootopolis City, Surfing, Magikarp, Synchronize with Adamant, Hidden Power Flying, Target Frame 2304: 25,28,27,16,26,24
Procedure: After the Eon Timer pre-timer expires Soft Reset by pressing A+B+Start+Select, then when the timer is up, use Sweet Scent with Oddish. If missed, use the IV Calculator to determine the Pokémon IVs to find your hit frame, transfer it to the timer and try again. Use Delay for wild Pokemon due to Oddish Sweet Scent animation taking outside 261 frames and in caves 268 frames, use Delay for all static Pokemon as well like Beldum: 4, Starters: 3, Latias/os: 3 frames after last text box of TV.
RNG manipulate for breeding flawless Pokemon (6*31 IVs):
Parent A: Ditto Frame 8567/8573: 31,31,2,29,12,31, Parent B: any Pokemon, Target Frame 15562, Time to press A: Take good care of it!
RNG manipulate for Mirage Island (Route 130):
appears when PID=Pokemon ID of a team Pokemon matches with daily new number between 0-65535, if battery is empty or playtime is at maximum the last 4 digits are always 0000, Target frames for PID 0000: Static: 18626, Wild Route 101: 19397
Daily berries:
Route 104: A girl standing eastmost in the Pretty Petal flower shop will give out a random Berry once per day.
Route 114: From a man a Berry can be obtained once per day.
Route 123: Inside the Berry Master's house, the Berry Master gives out two Berries each day and the Berry Master's wife gives one Berry per day.
Route 120: At the south-west corner of the route, there is a Beauty/Aroma Lady that will give one Berry per day.
Lilycove City: A Gentleman in the northeast part of the city will give out a random Berry once per day.
Sootopolis City: Kiri will give the player two Berries each day.
Rematch Trainers:
Requirements: Have at least five gym badges, walke at least 255 steps on a different route, upon entering route there's a 31% chance of making each registered PokéNav trainer on route available, so you should enter 3 times in a row, example Victory Road exit 4th+ rematch of Wally Lv. 53-57
PokéNav highest level of 4th+ trainer rematch:
1. Meteor Falls: Old Couple Level 52, Dragon Tamer Level 49
2. Route 124: Sis & Bro Level 51, Swimmer Level 45
3. Route 128: Triathlete Level 48, Triathlete Level 48
Rematch Gym Leaders:
Requirements: Become champion, complete 20 trainer/Battle Frontier battles or 60 wild pokemon battles, e.g. beating trainer #20 then wild pokemon #60 right after will yield two gym leader rematches, game chooses an unavailable gym leader that has the fewest rematches so far, 4th+ Rematch of Norman, Winona, Tate & Liza, Juan Lv. 55-66 are even higher level than Champ Wallace Lv. 55-58
Moneymaking:
Route 104: beat Rich Boy Winston reward: 7200 $ and steal Nugget=5.000 $ with Thief/Covet, beat Lady Cindy reward: 7200 $ and steal Nugget, double prize money with Amulet Coin, (in comparison e.g. Elite Four Drake only rewards 5500 $), walk 255 steps = 20 seconds on bike by challenging Gabby & Ty $3744 on Route 111, Route 118, or Route 120, re-enter Route 104 3-4 times successively and then challenge them again, total sum per challenge for both: 14400+5000=19400*2=38800 $ (Amulet Coin also doubles Pokédollars from Pay Day, from five to ten times the user's level, resulting in 1000 Pokédollar at level 100 per use, Lilycove City Super Rod 15 % Staryu encounters carrying items: 50% Stardust 1.000 $, 5% Star Piece 4.900 $, it's a bad but unknown money making method)
Catch Chansey:
in Kanto Safari Zone Area 2 (North) Chansey Lv. 26 has 4% encounter rate, use Lv. 26 Pokemon as first of team with Surf and Repels, Bait sequence: 2 Baits, 3 Balls, 1 Bait, 2 Balls, 1 Bait, 3 Balls, 1 Bait, 2 Balls, 1 Bait, 3 Balls, ...etc., throw your last 6 Balls without Bait, Balls only catch success rate 10.28% whereas this pattern has 19.08%, "Chansey is watching carefully!" message means that bait is no longer active and you must restart the sequence from the beginning with 2 Bait
Emerald Safari Zone get flee rate to 0% glitch and determine nature of encounters:
Procedure: Put Sour=yellow or Sweet=pink or Dry=blue or Bitter=green Pokeblock in Feeder: Then throw a Spicy=red Pokeblock to get the curious message, if dislike message then throw a Pokeblock of same color as in feeder, this way e.g. Heracross has 75.36% capture rate. In a 5 tile radius of Feeder 80% of encounters possess Pokeblock Nature, e.g. to get Nature Adamant use Spicy Flavor, Modest Dry, Timid Sweet, Jolly Sweet, the effect disappears after 100 steps. Don't ever use "move closer", it increases flee rate too much and catch rate too little
Blend Master in Lilycove Contest Hall:
Event after defeating Elite Four announced on TV, he matches flavor of berry you contributed e.g. you give Cornn Berry (Dry 20) he gives Pamtre Berry (Dry 40), generally best berries for Blend Master are Oran, Persim, (Lum, Sitrus have longer growth and fewer berries), cause they give +50 total flavor with only 20 spice/smooth/feel/sheen. Route 119 Linoone 30 % can carry: Oran Berry 50% or Sitrus Berry 5% steal it with Thief/Covet. The Blend Master only uses good berries: Watmel Berry, Durin Berry, Spelon Berry, Pamtre Berry and Belue Berry, unless you use one yourself, in which case he uses the berries: Tamato Berry, Cornn Berry, Nomel Berry, Rabuta Berry and Magost Berry.
Roaming Pokémon bug in FR/LG:
All 3 Legendary beasts of FR/LG are glitched to 31/7/0/0/0/0 IVs and thus have terrible stats, also if Entei/Raikou use move Roar they're removed from game as if defeated. Your chosen starter Pokémon determines the 1 beast of the 3 you can catch in endgame: Charmander=Suicune, Bulbasaur=Entei, Squirtle=Raikou. Use Lv.49 with Max Repels and change the route: Crobat: Mean Look, Taunt (lasts 2 rounds) or Dugtrio: with Arena Trap ability and Sand Tomb (lasts 2-5 rounds) or Smeargle: Mean Look, Ingrain, Spore, False Swipe
Legendary giants:
Unlock them: Wailord first place and Relicanth last place in team, go to Route 132 and use Dive in the middle of currents, use Dig (e.g. Trapinch Lv. 41 or Nincada Lv. 45) in the middle before the writing
Regirock: Desert Ruins Route 111: from the middle of the writing, go 2 left, 2 down, then use HM Rock Smash
Regice: Island Cave Route 105: walk one round clockwise in the cave directly along the wall
Registeel: Ancient Tomb Route 120: use HM Flash in the middle of the cave
Glitches:
Glitzer Popping/ACE Glitch (or use PKHeX): create any Pokemon or item, but can corrupt/delete game files
Battle Pike Glitch: teach any Pokemon the move Sketch, it's a safe method without data loss e.g. Slaking with Skill Swap or Aeroblast or Spore
