[SET]
name: Choice Band
move 1: Play Rough
move 2: Fire Fang
move 3: Psychic Fangs
move 4: Facade
item: Choice Band
ability: Intrepid Sword
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set is Zacian's only way to differentiate itself from its Crowned counterpart. Choice Band-boosted Play Rough is a 2HKO on Quagsire after Stealth Rock damage, offering something that Zacian-C is incapable of doing and therefore giving it a stronger matchup against bulkier teams in comparison. Fire Fang targets many Steel-types that resist Play Rough, while Psychic Fangs helps against Toxapex and does more damage to Eternatus. Facade helps in situations where Zacian is inflicted with status from bulkier teams; for example, Quagsire is still 2HKOed by a boosted Facade. The spread is a standard offensive choice—but be aware that Zacian will be slower than Eternatus, Zamazenta, and Zacian-C with an Adamant nature.

Aim to punch holes in the enemy team that teammates can take advantage of. Zacian's lack of a Ground-type weakness compared to Zacian-C can offer different ways of play when facing enemy Ground-types, which can make all the difference in a fast-paced match. Offensive teammates such as Ditto, Eternatus, and Excadrill are typically seen alongside Zacian, but a bulkier team using the likes of Corviknight and Quagsire can make use of this set as a way to break mirror matchups.
