Welcome to my first warstory. I have lurked on this site for a while, and have seen all the great work by others. When I had this battle, I knew I had to immortalize it in these forums. Without further ado, I present the battle.

Electrode vs. Liepard is an ok match-up for me. Even though I am slower, my prankster will allow me to move first with a non-attacking move as Electrode can’t run priority other than protect. I’ll go for an assist here to see what I can get.

Another lucky whirlwind means Liepard is unharmed. Now Lapras actually can run priority in the form of ice shard or aqua jet. However, my prankster assists have the same priority (+1) and Liepard is naturally faster than Lapras. Unless he has a rogue scarf priority Lapras, Liepard should be safe again.

Ah, Golem. What a nice surprise. I could easily use assist again here as Golem can’t possibly outspeed even if it did have priority. However, looking at my opponents team, it looks like Golem is the only poke that can learn the always vital stealth rocks. I assume he is running them because almost every team has rocks, and now a plan begins to formulate. Step 1, switch into Ditto.

Ooh step 1 complete, but that earthquake scared me! I look at my Ditto’s new moveset after transforming into Golem and I see earthquake, rock slide, hammer arm, and stealth rock. My ditto is scarfed, so I know at worst this will be a speed tie ( but who runs scarf Golem?). Step 2, set up those rocks!

This turn marks my first jab at my opponent. After he had been insulting me the entire game, (turn 5) I felt that I should defend myself. This will be a running theme. At this point, I also linked the battle in the stream. I feel that if people are watching, the opponent is less likely to time stall or ragequit.

Here my opponent points out one of the many flaws in my plan. Extremespeed is +2 priority so it outspeeds my prankster pokes. If my opponent is running a Linoone, it is very difficult to win. Other difficulties are protect (pp stalling), regenerator, suction cups, and, the biggest, my opponent not running hazards. Fortunately, none of those happened this game :).

He really is the key to victory. His clutch survive against Golem sealed victory as he put up the all important rocks! This was a close call between Ditto and Dustox (who provided the all-important whirlwind) but I think Ditto did what only Ditto can do: Imposter transform for victory.

Liepard has the ability prankster which means that all non-attacking moves get +1 priority. Assist falls in this category. When Liepard uses assist, a move is picked at random from my team. However, assist cannot pick some moves, notably assist, protect, sleep talk, thief, covet, transform, and destiny bond. On my team, all of my pokes only know moves from this list with the exception of Dustox who knows whirlwind. As a result, assist will always choose whirlwind because it is the only choice. If I can set up stealth rocks, then every time I use assist, the resulting whirlwind will inflict a small amount of damage to the poke that is forced in. The plan is to use Ditto to set up stealth rocks and then shuffle, shuffle, shuffle and shuffle some more.

He really is the key to victory. His clutch survive against Golem sealed victory as he put up the all important rocks! This was a close call between Ditto and Dustox (who provided the all-important whirlwind) but I think Ditto did what only Ditto can do: Imposter transform for victory.
