[overview]
**Draft order**: Round 3 onwards

**Price range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**: Walking Wake is a strong attacker, fitting into drafts that appreciate offensive pressure and pivoting. Walking Wake's Water and Dragon typing is great offensively, enabling it to dish out powerful hits, thanks to its good Special Attack and Speed. Protosynthesis can further amplify Walking Wake's offensive output, either on sun-centric teams or by access to Booster Energy , making it faster and stronger. Walking Wake has a somewhat shallow movepool, and this is compounded by a lack of a Special Attack-boosting move and a low Attack stat, leaving its physical movepool underutilized. In spite of this, it is a great fit on teams and helps enable the centerpiece of many drafts it finds itself in.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Sun sweeper**: Walking Wake becomes an extremely scary wallbreaker and sweeper under sun thanks to Protosynthesis. This can either grant Walking Wake a boost to its Special Attack, increasing pressure on would-be walls, or Speed, thwarting faster threats and revenge killing them.

**Wallbreaker**: Walking Wake doesn't need the weather to be an effective wallbreaker, thanks to its raw power. Utilizing Booster Energy, Choice Specs, or other damage-boosting items, Walking Wake can often open up holes on the opposing team so its teammates can clean up and win the game.

**Offensive utility**: Walking Wake has access to two great utility options in Flip Turn and Knock Off. These options allow it to support its team with item removal and pivoting while maintaining great offensive prowess and a decent defensive profile.

**Late-game cleaner**: Walking Wake can use Booster Energy Speed or Agility in tandem with Booster Energy Special Attack to become faster than the vast majority of Pokemon. By utilizing its good coverage and offensive stats, Walking Wake can pick up KOs on weakened foes or clean up against the opposing team.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Hydro Steam, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse

**Setup moves**: Agility

**Utility moves**: Flip Turn, Knock Off, Substitute, Roar, Dragon Tail

**Coverage**: Flamethrower, Weather Ball, Hurricane, Low Kick

Niche Moves
========
**Sunny Day**: Walking Wake can set weather for the team in emergency situations or to activate its own Protosynthesis.

**Aqua Jet**: Despite Walking Wake's relatively low Attack , Aqua Jet can be useful on certain builds as a priority attack, providing emergency speed control in scenarios where an opposing Pokemon might sweep your team.

Common Items
========
**Choice Specs**: Choice Specs turns Walking Wake into a terrifying powerhouse in and out of weather and should be considered by any wallbreaking set.

**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy is a great option on late-game cleaner sets, enabling it to cleave through the remnants of the opposing team.

Niche Items
========
**Choice Scarf**: Choice Scarf allows Walking Wake to outspeed most Pokemon, making it a good offensive utility move user or a revenge killer, and also has some use on a late-game cleaner set.

**Heavy-Duty (ah) Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots enables Walking Wake to hit the field much more often, which is especially useful against entry hazards. It also helps pivot and utility sets proportionally more.

**Resistance Berries**: One-time resistance Berries can be used to take a super effective attack from a strong foe and knock them out in return or set up with Agility.

**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack in combination with Draco Meteor can be used as a one-time nuke and pivot option in certain matchups on offensive utility sets.

**Damage-boosting items**: Items that increase STAB damage can be used as an alternative to Choice Specs on wallbreaking sets that don't want to be Choice-locked into one move. Life Orb and Expert Belt can also be used in this way.

**Petaya / Salac Berry**: Both Berries fit on Agility or Substitute sets, enabling Walking Wake to have a better chance at sweeping by boosting its its Special Attack or Speed, respectively, when its HP gets low.

**Leftovers**: Leftovers gives Walking Wake slightly more longevity and is a good fit on utility or Substitute sets.

**Assault Vest**: Assault Vest increases Walking Wake's special bulk while allowing it to maintain some offensive presence and is therefore a decent fit on offensive utility sets.

Tera
========
Walking Wake is generally allowed as a Tera Captain and is an extremely potent one at that. Tera Fire is the most common Tera on sun teams, turning sun-boosted Fire-type attacks from strong to downright unwallable. Tera Water and Tera Dragon are also good options to power up Walking Wake's STAB moves to ridiculous levels. Tera Fairy or Tera Steel are good options to flip Walking Wake's weaknesses completely. Other more niche Tera types can be used in conjunction with Tera Blast to hit Pokemon that would otherwise wall Walking Wake.

Draft Strategy
========
Walking Wake isn't often the centerpiece of a draft, but it is a good early draft option thanks to the offensive power it brings, which can help support most offensive cores. It is a great exploiter of sun, so any player building around other Pokemon that exploit sun should at least consider drafting it.

**Weather setter**: Walking Wake appreciates Pokemon that can set sun like Torkoal and Ninetales.

**Strong attacking partners**: Pokemon that synergize with Walking Wake's strong offensive profile can help increase the pressure it exerts. Pokemon like Iron Valiant, Weavile, and Iron Moth can either help enable a late-game sweep or benefit from Walking Wake punching holes in the opposing team. In particular, Chi-Yu and other Protosynthesis Pokemon form great synergy with Walking Wake, as they also benefit from sun.

**Speed control**: Despite being fast, Walking Wake is just slower than Pokemon with base 110 Speed, so having faster Pokemon, such as Darkrai, Tornadus-T, and Meowscarada, are appreciated as speed control.

**Momentum**: While Walking Wake is great at grabbing momentum with Flip Turn, drafting other Pokemon with access to pivot moves or other forms of building momentum can help avoid pressuring Walking Wake into the pivot role every game.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Empoleon, Toxapex, Milotic, and Slowking can switch into Walking Wake's Water-type attacks and generally pivot out or force Walking Wake out.

**Bulky Fairy-types**: Fairy-types can switch in and pressure out Walking Wake. Hence, Pokemon like Primarina, Florges, and Sylveon are decent stops to it.

**Specially defensive walls**: In most cases, bulky special walls, such as Hisuian Goodra, Alolan Muk, and Galarian Slowking, can switch into Walking Wake's attacks and sponge the hit, although these must be wary of draining too much momentum by giving Walking Wake a free Flip Turn.

**Faster threats**: Although Walking Wake is fast, Choice Scarf users or Booster Energy Speed threats like Iron Valiant, Iron Bundle, and Latios can outspeed and knock it out, even if Walking Wake itself is Booster Energy Speed or Choice Scarf.

[overview]
**Draft order**: Late Round One Round three and onwards

**Price range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**: Walking Wake is a strong and diverse special attacker being able to slot into a variety of different team styles with different roles. fit onto drafts that need good offensive pressure and pivoting. Walking Wake isn't diverse given its sets are mostly the same given how they're used its limited coverage, especially since you mention its shallow movepool later on. Walking Wake boasts excellent a good offensive typing in of Water and Dragon, which enabling enables it to dish out powerful hits with some defensive utility, alongside a from its great special attacking stat, a has good speed stat, and decent bulk, enabling it to take a hit or two. Saying its typing is excellent is overselling. Its good offensive typing but it doesn’t have any key resistances that you would want for in a Water- or Dragon-type so its defensive utility is questionable at best. Walking Wake's Protosynthesis ability adds to this Pokémon's diversity offensive output by enabling it to fit offensive output when functioning on Sun-centric teams and to or it can run the Booster Energy item outside of Sun to make it extremely fast or extremely strong. Not sure if I say Protosynthesis is adding onto its diversity bur rather it further amplifies its offensive qualities better to sweep or break. Paired with Although it has a shallow but decent movepool, Walking Wake is a great versatile fit on many teams and can help enable the centrepiece of any draft it finds itself in. Feel like you can use this portion to highlight its flaws and mention the overall point after.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Fun In The Sun Although a fun title, would be better to all it Sun abuser**: Walking Wake becomes an extremely scary wall-breaker and sweeper under the Sun. With an activated Protosynthesis boost to special attack, to increase pressure on would-be walls, or speed, to thwart faster threats and revenge killing it KO them, the boosted Hydro Steams and Fire coverage (in the form of Flamethrower or Weather Ball) complemented by strong Draco Meteors make Wake unfairly difficult to stop. This last portion doesn't need to be said, "becomes an extremely scary wallbreaker" should be enough to explain.

**Wallbreaker**: Walking Wake doesn't need the weather to be an effective wall breaker. Thanks to its great stats and stab options. Its raw power, is its often enough to open up holes in the opposition on opposing team so that help its teammates clean up and win the game. Add in its usage of Booster Energy, Choice Specs, or any attacking boosting item that enable its wallbreaking potential.

**Offensive Utility / Fast Pivot**: DLC blessed Walking Wake with 2 has access to great utility options in Flip Turn and Knock Off. These options allow Wake to support its team with item removal and pivoting while maintaining great offensive prowess and a decent defensive profile (thanks to its amazing typing). Doesn't need to be mentioned, decent defensive profile should be fine but frankly this section could be removed.

**Late-game cleaner / Revenge Killer**: By donning a using Choice Scarf or a, Booster Energy, or Agility Adding Agility at the beginning since it also enables it to clean late-game, Walking Wake becomes faster than the vast majority of unboosted Pokémon. Utilising Utilizing its great coverage and offensive stats, Walking Wake can revenge kill vulnerable opponents or finish off teams with their defensive cores weakened by teammates.

**Dancing In The Rain**: In rare cases, Walking Wake can also fit on Rain teams if it desires, utilising the stronger, albeit more inaccurate, Hydro Pumps and a different coverage option in Hurricane. This, however, forgoes the automatic Proto boost afforded by the Sun, cutting into Wake's power and speed.

Yeah I would just remove this entire section. Given its strong synergy with Sun, its weird then to suggest rain sets which at best are niche and doesn't really fit into common sets.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Hydro Steam, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse Can add Liquidation, Dragon Claw, Outrage

**Setup moves**: Substitute Agility, Can add Dragon Dance

**Utility moves**: Flip Turn, Knock Off, Substitute, Roar, Dragon Tail

**Coverage**: Flamethrower, Weather Ball

Niche Moves
========
**Hurricane**: Outside of the sun, Hurricane can be used as a stronger coverage option vs Grasses and Bugs if necessary. Hurricane functions especially well on Rain teams. Could move to common coverage.

**Agility**: In games where Wake can easily be afforded a turn to set-up, Agility enables the Pokémon to outspeed everything else and invest more heavily in bulk, allowing for easier sweeps. Moving to setup moves.

**Roar / Dragon Tail**: If necessary, Walking Wake can act as an emergency check to some setup sweepers and attackers by phasing them out. Moving to utility moves.

**Low Kick**: Despite Walking Wake's relatively low Attack stat, Low Kick can be used on rare occasions to more effectively pressure Steels that aren't otherwise worried about its Special move pool; these are limited to, examples include Goodra-Hisui and Empoleon. Could move to common coverage.

**Sunny Day / Rain Dance**: Walking Wake can set weather for the team in emergency situations or for itself to activate Protosynthesis, or if your draft does not have any better weather setters and you want to run a weather mode. Sunny Day is somewhat justifiable but Rain Dance don't need to be mention.

**Tera Blast**: Wake usually has the coverage it needs, but if it is a Tera Captain, it can utilise Tera Blast to smack certain Pokémon harder.
Doesn't need to be place here. Usually mentioned in the Tera section

Moves that can be put under niche: Aqua Jet for priority, Snarl for special Dark type coverage with Throat Spray interactions, Endure for certain strategies, and Whirlpool for trapping

Common Items
========
**Choice Specs**: Choice Specs make Walking Wake is into a terrifying powerhouse in and out of weather conditions and should be considered by for any wallbreaking sets or pivot set.

**Choice Scarf**: Choice Scarf Wake is allows it to be faster than most unboosted Pokémon and is great on as a late-game cleaner, offensive utility user, fast pivot and or as a revenge killing sets killer.

**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy Wake is a great option on late-game cleaner sets, enabling it to cleave through the remnants of the opposing team.

Niche Items
========
**Heavy Duty Boots**: The only Pokémon shoes around Never try to be quirky ever again LOL. Heavy-Duty Boots enable Walking Wake to hit the field much more often, which is especially useful in games where hazard stacking is expected. It also helps pivot/utility sets proportionally more.

**Haban / Roseli Berry Resistance Berry**: These one-time resistance berries can be used to take a Dragon- or Fairy-type super effective attack from a strong foe and knock them out in return, or set up with Substitute or Agility. Should only be considered in rare cases. Yeah, that's why its under niche.

**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack Draco Meteor can be used as a one-time nuke and pivot option in certain matchups on offensive utility sets.

**Mystic Water/Dragon Fang Attack-Boosting items**: STAB-boosting items can be used as an alternative to the Choice Specs item on breaker or pivot sets that don't want to be locked into one move. Can also add in the mention of Life Orb or Expert Belt.

Other niche items to mention: Custap Berry with Endure synergy. Petaya and Salac Berry with Agility or Substitute sets, Leftovers given how much mention there is of defensive utility, Assault Vest also another mention.

Tera
========
Walking Wake is generally allowed as a Tera Captain and is an extremely potent one at that. Tera Fire is the most common Tera on Sun teams to turn Sun-boosted Weather Balls from a nuke to an even stronger nuke! Tera Water and Tera Dragon are also good options to power up Walking Wake's stabs to near unwallable levels. Tera Fairy or Tera Steel are good options to flip Wake's weaknesses completely. Furthermore if you are using Tera Blast as coverage, Tera Grass and Tera Electric can hit bulky Waters, Tera Ground and Fighting hits Steels who don't care about Flamethrower, and Tera Poison smack Fairies harder.
Tera section is fine for the most part. Last portion doesn't need to be that in-depth as you can briefly mention that it could run niche Tera types to counters specific Pokemon that it can't hit normally rather than listing examples.

Draft Strategy
========
Walking Wake isn't often *the* centrepiece of the draft, but is a good early draft option and an important part of any draft. Further elaborate on why it is important or at least worth drafting on any team.

**Weather Setter**: It appreciates Pokémon that can set Sun, for example, Drought Pokémon like Torkoal or manual setters like Klefki. Manual setting are good to have but do not rely on them for setting sun every game. Can also mention Ninetales as an alternative sun setter.

**Strong attacking partners**: Pokémon that synergise with Walking Wake's strong offensive profile can help increase the pressure Wake exerts. They can either help enable a clean late game sweep or benefit from Walking Wake making punching holes in on the opposition opposing team. Give examples of strong attackers that it can work well with.

**Spikes and Rocks**: Walking Wake can force multiple switches over the course of a match, and having a layer of Spikes or Rocks up greatly increase the offensive pressure Wake can exert. Honestly, this feels most like a given when drafting offense so wouldn't include here.

**Speed Control**: Despite being fast, Walking Wake misses out on the elusive 110 speed tier, so faster Pokémon are appreciated as speed control. Again, give examples of fast Pokemon that can help support speed control.

Would add a section about momentum given its access to Flip Turn and not wanting to pressure it into that role every game.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types can switch into Walking Wake removed comma and take the hit, Water-type attacks and generally pivot out or harass force Walking Wake out. In particular, Pokémon like Empoleon, Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Azumarill do not care about Wake's attacks. Remove Tapu Fini since it is not in Paldea Dex. Honestly this section could be cut, given that the examples listed are the few Pokemon that are able to resist both of Walking Wake's offensive typings. Either cut it or provide more examples of bulky water types that can switch into its well such as Slowking or Milotic.

**Faster threats and priority**: Although Walking Wake is fast, it's not *that* fast. Choice Scarfed users or Booster speed faster threats like Iron Valiant, Iron Bundle, and Latios can outspeed Wake it and knock it out, even if when Walking Wake itself is using Proto-activated Booster Energy Speed boost or Choice Scarf. Slow pivots are a good way to bring these threats in. Strong priority users can also knock Wake out before it gets a chance to attack. Priority attacks are the least of its worries.

Add a section for Bulky Fairies since they can switch into its Dragon STAB and pressure it out with Fairy coverage, and in general Specially Defensive Walls that are able to switch into attacks with ease.

Yeah, this is pretty rough. Want to some major changes before I can give a QC. While it has decent points, overall it tries to oversell on what its capable of doing, mentions unnecessary details that are a given, and lacks brief explanations for points that are important to cover; this point mainly applying in your draft strategies. But I think if you can give a major edit, then it could be workable.

Then could use the next part after this to transtition as well. but in spite of this, it is a great fit on teams and helps enable the centrepiece of many drafts it finds itself in.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Hydro Steam, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Liquidation, Dragon Claw, Outrage

**Setup moves**: Agility, Dragon Dance

**Utility moves**: Flip Turn, Knock Off, Substitute, Roar, Dragon Tail

**Coverage**: Flamethrower, Weather Ball, Hurricane, Low Kick

Niche Moves
========
**Sunny Day**: Walking Wake can set weather for the team in emergency situations or to activate its own Protosynthesis.
.
**Aqua Jet**: Despite Wake's relatively low attack stat, Aqua Jet can be useful on certain builds as a priority attack. Mention why having a priority attack can be useful.

**Snarl**: Although relatively weak, Snarl provides Wake with special dark coverage that can interact with the Throat Spray item.

**Whirlpool**: Whirlpool can be used as an option to trap and remove specific Pokémon on your opponent's team.

**Endure**: Endure can be used to always live a hit, giving it synergy with Custap Berry and Weakness Policy.

Common Items
========
**Choice Specs**: Choice Specs turns Walking Wake into a terrifying powerhouse in and out of weather and should be considered by any wallbreaking set.

**Choice Scarf**: Choice Scarf allows Walking Wake to outspeed most Pokémon and makes it great as a late-game cleaner set, offensive utility user, or a revenge killer.

**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy is a great option on late-game cleaner sets, enabling it to cleave through the remnants of the opposing team.

**Damage-boosting items**: STAB-boosting items can be used as an alternative to the Choice Specs item on breaker wallbreaking or pivot sets that don't want to be locked into one move. Life Orb and Expert belt can also be used in this way.

**Custap Berry**: Can be used in tandem with Endure to live a hit and always move first the following turn, allowing Walking Wake to function as an emergency revenge killer.

**Petaya / Salac Berry**: These berries boost Special Attack and Speed, respectively, once Walking Wake drops below 25% health and can fit on Agility and or Substitute sets.

**Leftovers**: Leftovers give Walking Wake slightly more longevity and are a good fit on utility or substitute sets.

**Assault Vest**: Assault Vest increases Walking Wake's special bulk while allowing it to maintain some offensive presence and is, therefore, a good fit on offensive utility sets.

Tera
========
Other more niche Tera options can be used in conjunction with Tera Blast to hit Pokémon that would otherwise wall you.

Draft Strategy
========
Walking Wake isn't often the centrepiece of a draft, but is a good early draft option thanks to the offensive power it brings, which can help support most offensive cores. It is a great Sun abuser, so any player building around other Sun abusers should at least consider drafting it.

**Weather Setter**: Walking Wake appreciates Pokémon that can set Sun, like Torkoal and Ninetales.

**Strong attacking partners**: Pokémon that synergise with Walking Wake's strong offensive profile can help increase the pressure Wake exerts. Pokémon like Iron Valiant, Kyurem, and Hydreigon can either help enable a late-game sweep or benefit from Walking Wake punching holes in the opposition team. In particular, Chi-Yu and other Protosynthesis Pokémon form great synergy with Walking Wake as they also benefit from Sun.
Would like to see good physical options listed, Kyurem and Hydreigon are redundant given they also use Dragon coverage so having more diversity would be ideal.

**Speed Control**: Despite being fast, Walking Wake misses out on the elusive 110 Speed, so having faster Pokémon, such as Darkrai, Tornadus-Therian, and Meowscarada, and so forth, are appreciated as speed control.

**Momentum**: While Walking Wake is great at grabbing momentum with Flip Turn, drafting other Pokémon with access to pivot moves, such as U-turn, Volt Swich or other forms building momentum Slowking-Galar, Cinderace, and Zapdos, can help avoids pressuring Walking Wake into the pivot role every game.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Waters**: Bulky water types, like Empoleon, Toxapex, Milotic, and Slowking, or Primarina, can switch into Walking Wake's Water-type attacks and generally pivot out or force Walking Wake out. Removing Primarina since its mentioned in bulky Fairies.

**Bulky Fairies**: Fairy types are immune to Walking Wake's Dragon STABs and pressure it out with Fairy coverage. Hence, Pokémon like Primarina, Florges, and Sylveon are good stops to it.

**Specially Defensive walls**: In most cases, bulky Special walls, like Goodra-Hisui and Blissey, can switch into Walking Wake's attacks and sponge the hit, although these must be wary of draining too much momentum by giving Walking Wake a free Flip Turn. Would provide a better example other than Blissey. Or at least better Pokemon that can in theory pressure upon switch in.

**Faster threats**: Although Walking Wake is fast, Choice Scarf users or Booster speed threats like Iron Valiant, Iron Bundle, and Latios can outspeed and knock it out, even if Wake itself is Booster Energy Speed or Choice Scarf.

Common Roles
========
**Sun abuser**: Walking Wake becomes an extremely scary wall-breaker and sweeper under the Sun, thanks to Protosynthesis. This can either grant Walking Wake a boost to its special attack, to increase pressure on would-be walls, or speed, to thwart faster threats and RKO them.

**Offensive Utility**: Walking Wake has access to 2 great utility options in Flip Turn and Knock Off. These options allow Wake to support its team with item removal and pivoting while maintaining great offensive prowess and a decent defensive profile.

**Late-game cleaner**: Walking Wake can use a Choice Scarf, (overruling sablo on this but sounds very underwhelming) Booster Energy, or Agility (on agility you usually run booster energy, i think something like booster energy special attack alongside agility would be better)to become faster than the vast majority of Pokémon. By utilizing its good coverage and offensive stats, Walking Wake can pick up knockouts on weakened foes or clean up against the opposing team.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Hydro Steam, Hydro Pump, Surf, Scald, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Liquidation, Dragon Claw, Outrage (its physical attack is kind of super lackluster, cant rly see running physical coverage unless you fight like blissey in which case i think you jut flip turn out)

**Setup moves**: Agility, Dragon Dance (i ran calcs on this and its kind of pathetic)

**Utility moves**: Flip Turn, Knock Off, Substitute, Roar, Dragon Tail

**Coverage**: Flamethrower, Weather Ball, Hurricane, Low Kick (fire blast)

Niche Moves
========
**Sunny Day**: Walking Wake can set weather for the team in emergency situations or to activate its own Protosynthesis.
.
**Aqua Jet**: Despite Wake's relatively low attack stat, Aqua Jet can be useful on certain builds as a priority attack as emergency speed control in scenarios where an opposing Pokémon might snowball the game.

**Snarl**: Although relatively weak, Snarl provides Wake with special dark coverage that can interact with the Throat Spray item. (too niche)

**Whirlpool**: Whirlpool can be used as an option to trap and remove specific Pokémon on your opponent's team. (too niche)

**Endure**: Endure can be used to always live a hit, giving it synergy with Custap Berry and Weakness Policy. (feels too niche to me)

Common Items
========

(move to niche, also overselling it on late game cleaner set)

**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy is a great option on late-game cleaner sets, enabling it to cleave through the remnants of the opposing team.

Niche Items
========
**Heavy Duty Boots**: Heavy Duty Boots enable Walking Wake to hit the field much more often, which is especially useful against entry-hazards. It also helps pivot/utility sets proportionally more.

**Resistance berries**: One-time resistance berries can be used to take a supereffective attack from a strong foe and knock them out in return or set up with Agility.

**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack Draco Meteor can be used as a one-time nuke and pivot option in certain matchups on offensive utility sets.

**Damage-boosting items**: STAB-boosting items can be used as an alternative to Choice Specs on wall-breaking sets that don't want to be locked into one move. Life Orb and Expert belt can also be used in this way.

**Custap Berry**: Can be used in tandem with Endure to live a hit and move first the following turn, allowing Walking Wake to function as an emergency revenge killer. (just use booster for speed boost)

**Petaya / Salac Berry**: These berries boost Special Attack and Speed, respectively, once Walking Wake drops below 25% health and can fit on Agility or Substitute sets. (feels borderline too niche, but ill leave it up to you to include or not)

**Leftovers**: Leftovers give Walking Wake slightly more longevity and are a good fit on utility or substitute sets.

**Assault Vest**: Assault Vest increases Walking Wake's special bulk while allowing it to maintain some offensive presence and is, therefore, a good (decent or niche, not good IMO) fit on offensive utility sets.

Tera
========
Walking Wake is generally allowed as a Tera Captain and is an extremely potent one at that. Tera Fire is the most common Tera on Sun teams to turn Sun-boosted Weather Balls(flamethrower usually on rare case that sun isnt up, could also say fire attacks) from a nuke to an even stronger nuke! Tera Water and Tera Dragon are also good options to power up Walking Wake's stabs STABs to near unwallable levels. Tera Fairy or Tera Steel are good options to flip Wake's weaknesses completely. Other more niche Tera options can be used in conjunction with Tera Blast to hit Pokémon that would otherwise wall you.

Draft Strategy
========
Walking Wake isn't often the centrepiece of a draft, but is a good early draft option thanks to the offensive power it brings, which can help support most offensive cores. It is a great Sun abuser, so any player building around other Sun abusers should at least consider drafting it.

Pokémon, like Iron Valiant, Weavile, and Iron Moth, can either help enable a late-game sweep or benefit from Walking Wake punching holes in the opposition team. In particular, Chi-Yu and other Protosynthesis Pokémon form great synergy with Walking Wake as they also benefit from Sun.

**Speed Control**: Despite being fast, Walking Wake misses out on 110 Speed, so having faster Pokémon, such as Darkrai, Tornadus-Therian and Meowscarada, are appreciated as speed control.

**Momentum**: While Walking Wake is great at grabbing momentum with Flip Turn, drafting other Pokémon with access to pivot moves, such as U-turn, Volt Switch, or other forms of building momentum, can help avoid pressuring Walking Wake into the pivot role every game.

Checks and Counters
========
**Bulky Waters**: Bulky water types (like Empoleon, Toxapex, Milotic, and Slowking) can switch into Walking Wake's Water-type attacks and generally pivot out or force Walking Wake out.

**Bulky Fairies**: Fairy types are immune to Walking Wake's dragon STABs and pressure it out with Fairy coverage. Hence, Pokémon like Primarina, Florges, and Sylveon are good decent stops to it.

**Specially Defensive walls**: In most cases, bulky Special walls (like Goodra-Hisui, Muk-Alola and Slowking-Galar) such as Hisuian Goodra, Alolan Muk, and Galarian Slowking can switch into Walking Wake's attacks and sponge the hit, although these must be wary of draining too much momentum by giving Walking Wake a free Flip Turn.

**Faster threats**: Although Walking Wake is fast, Choice Scarf users or Booster speed threats like Iron Valiant, Iron Bundle, and Latios can outspeed and knock it out, even if Wake itself is Booster Energy Speed or Choice Scarf.

[overview]
**Draft order**: Round three 3 onwards

**Price range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**: Walking Wake is a strong attacker, fitting onto into drafts that appreciate offensive pressure and pivoting. Walking Wake's Water and Dragon typing is great offensively, enabling it to dish out powerful hits, thanks to its good special attacking stat Special Attack and Speed. Protosynthesis can further amplify Pokémon's Walking Wake's offensive output, either on sun-centric teams or by access to the Booster Energy item, making Wake it faster and stronger. Walking Wake has a somewhat shallow movepool, and this is compounded by a lack of a special-attack Special Attack-boosting move and a low Attack stat, leaving its physical movepool underutilised underutilized. In spite of this, it is a great fit on teams and helps enable the centrepiece centerpiece of many drafts it finds itself in.

Common Roles
========
**Sun abuser sweeper**: Walking Wake becomes an extremely scary wallbreaker (rh) and sweeper under the Sun (rc) sun thanks to Protosynthesis. **Wallbreaker**: Walking Wake doesn't need the weather to be an effective wallbreaker removed space, thanks to its raw power. Utilising Utilizing Booster Energy, Choice Specs, or other damage-boosting items, Walking Wake can often open up holes on the opposing team so its teammates can clean up and win the game.

**Offensive utility**: Walking Wake has access to 2 two great utility options in Flip Turn and Knock Off. These options allow Wake it to support its team with item removal and pivoting while maintaining great offensive prowess and a decent defensive profile.

**Late-game cleaner**: Walking Wake can use Booster Energy Speed or Agility in tandem with Booster Energy Special Attack to become faster than the vast majority of Pokémon Pokemon. By utilizing its good coverage and offensive stats, Walking Wake can pick up knockouts KOs on weakened foes or clean up against the opposing team.

**Aqua Jet**: Despite Walking Wake's relatively low Attack stat, Aqua Jet can be useful on certain builds as a priority attack, (ac) as providing emergency speed control in scenarios where an opposing Pokémon Pokemon might snowball the game sweep your team.

Common Items
========

Niche Items
========
**Choice Scarf**: Choice Scarf allows Walking Wake to outspeed most Pokémon and makes it great as an offensive utility user (rc) Pokemon, making it a good offensive utility move user or a revenge killer, and also has some use on a late-game cleaner set.

**Heavy-Duty (ah) Boots**: Heavy-Duty (ah) Boots enable enables Walking Wake to hit the field much more often, which is especially useful against entry (rh) hazards. It also helps pivot/utility pivot and utility sets proportionally more.

**Resistance Berries**: One-time resistance Berries can be used to take a super (as) effective attack from a strong foe and knock them out in return or set up with Agility.

**Eject Pack**: Eject Pack in combination with Draco Meteor can be used as a one-time nuke and pivot option in certain matchups on offensive utility sets.

**Damage-boosting items**: STAB-boosting items Items that increase STAB damage can be used as an alternative to Choice Specs on wallbreaking (rh) sets that don't want to be Choice-locked into one move. Life Orb and Expert Belt can also be used in this way.

**Petaya / Salac Berry**: These berries boost Special Attack and Speed, respectively, once Walking Wake drops below 25% health and can fit on Agility or Substitute sets. instead of reading like direct dex info, i'll change it to the following (@ me on discord if you want to change it up) Both Berries fit on Agility or Substitute sets, enabling Walking Wake to have a better chance at sweeping when its HP gets low.

**Leftovers**: Leftovers give gives Walking Wake slightly more longevity and are is a good fit on utility or Substitute sets.

**Assault Vest**: Assault Vest increases Walking Wake's special bulk while allowing it to maintain some offensive presence and is (rc) therefore (rc) a decent fit on offensive utility sets.

Tera
========
Walking Wake is generally allowed as a Tera Captain and is an extremely potent one at that. Tera Fire is the most common Tera on sun teams, (ac) to turning sun-boosted Fire-type attacks from strong to downright unwallable. Tera Water and Tera Dragon are also good options to power up Walking Wake's STABs STAB moves to ridiculous levels. Tera Fairy or Tera Steel are good options to flip Walking Wake's weaknesses completely. Other more niche Tera options types can be used in conjunction with Tera Blast to hit Pokémon Pokemon that would otherwise wall you Walking Wake.

Draft Strategy
========
Walking Wake isn't often the centrepiece centerpiece of a draft, but it is a good early draft option thanks to the offensive power it brings, which can help support most offensive cores. It is a great Sun abuser exploiter of sun, so any player building around other Sun abusers Pokemon that exploit sun should at least consider drafting it.

**Weather setter**: Walking Wake appreciates Pokémon Pokemon that can set Sun (rc) sun like Torkoal and Ninetales.

**Strong attacking partners**: Pokémon Pokemon that synergise synergize with Walking Wake's strong offensive profile can help increase the pressure Wake it exerts. In particular, Chi-Yu and other Protosynthesis Pokémon Pokemon form great synergy with Walking Wake, (ac) as they also benefit from sun.

**Speed control**: Despite being fast, Walking Wake misses out on is just slower than Pokemon with base 110 Speed, so having faster Pokémon Pokemon, such as Darkrai, Tornadus-Therian, (ac) and Meowscarada, are appreciated as speed control.

**Momentum**: While Walking Wake is great at grabbing momentum with Flip Turn, drafting other Pokémon Pokemon with access to pivot moves (rc) such as U-turn, Volt Switch (rc) implied by pivot moves or other forms of building momentum (rc) can help avoid pressuring Walking Wake into the pivot role every game.
