Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 232 SpD / 28 Def or 248 HP / 104 Def / 156 SpD
Sassy / Relaxed Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower
- Leech Seed
- Protect

Slashing both SpDef and PhysDef, either spread does the job. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway, SD Gliscor is yet another thing that Steela counters by virtue of her typing; while she can't immediately threaten to KO back like Counter Skarmory can (though Heavy Slam does do nice chip), she can cancel out Poison Heal with Leech Seed and simply park arse until Gliscor runs out of PP or presses X.

+6 0 Atk Gliscor Facade (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 28 Def Celesteela: 181-214 (45.5 - 53.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery and Leech Seed recovery
+6 0 Atk Gliscor Facade (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 104+ Def Celesteela: 154-181 (38.7 - 45.5%) -- 1.4% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery and Leech Seed recovery
0 Atk Celesteela Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 244 HP / 0 Def Gliscor: 108-127 (30.6 - 36%) -- 48.2% chance to 3HKO after Leech Seed damage and Poison Heal

Nominating Avalugg as a counter!

Avalugg @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Atk / 168 Def
Impish Nature
- Avalanche
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake

An awesome sleeper pick brought to light during the era of Zygarde's dominance by legendary Smogon user and OU ladder terror Omari P, the almighty Avalugg is one of the most reliable counters to SpDef Swords Dance Gliscor so long as it remains healthy as it forces a ton of mindgames that all naturally put the Gliscor user at a considerable disadvantage. A healthy Avalugg isn't even close to OHKOed by even a +6 Gliscor, and Gliscor literally cannot afford to touch it or else it is comfortably OHKOed by Avalanche. Gliscor will be consistently forced to click Roost if it decides to set up or heal up, and Avalugg is more than capable of winning the PP stall war courtesy of Rapid Spin and Sturdy to ensure that even under ludicrously impossible conditions Gliscor isn't OHKOing it from full.

Tapu Bulu @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 84 HP / 248 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

Check. While Bulu doesn't exactly come out of this matchup unscathed, it doesn't get OHKO'd either, and absolutely annihilates Gliscor with wood hammer, and can still 1v1 it with horn leech. It seems the standard spread is also EV'd to tank a +4 facade from full, so it has plenty of opportunities to switch in.

248+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Wood Hammer vs. 244 HP / 0 Def Gliscor in Grassy Terrain: 399-469 (113.3 - 133.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
248+ Atk Choice Band Tapu Bulu Horn Leech vs. 244 HP / 0 Def Gliscor in Grassy Terrain: 249-294 (70.7 - 83.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Poison Heal (41.2 - 48.6% recovered)

+2 0 Atk Gliscor Facade (140 BP) vs. 84 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 170-201 (56.2 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
+4 0 Atk Gliscor Facade (140 BP) vs. 84 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 255-301 (84.4 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

Nominating Mamoswine as a counter!

Pokémonsprite_473_XY.gif

Mamoswine @ Groundium Z
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

Mamoswine cannot be OHKOed by any of Gliscor's unboosted moves while forcing it out immediately with its STAB Ice type coverage. It is also capable of speed creeping it in order to invest more into Defense to take less damage by it. Although that isn't necessary for it to be a viable counter, it can fully capitalize upon forcing it out by laying out Stealth Rocks onto the field and is able to threaten Ice type switch-ins like Toxapex out too.

Sorry for being super late, but we have a whole lotta submissions for SD Gliscor!

WEEK 14
:sm/kommo-o:
Kommo-o @ Kommonium Z
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Clanging Scales
- Poison Jab
- Close Combat

Kommo-o is an amazing Pokemon, with its great typing allowing it to switch into many top-tier threats like Ash-Greninja, Heatran, and Tyranitar, and having an amazing Z-Move in Clangarous Soulblaze. It is rather difficult to revenge kill due to its resistances to moves like Water Shuriken and Sucker Punch. Furthermore, having Dragon Dance and powerful STAB moves make it a great sweeper. It does have several glaring flaws, so can you find a good check or counter that can take advantage of these weaknesses? Submissions end on Wednesday!

:sm/clefable:
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Flamethrower

Clefable's one of the best counters to Kommo-o. Thanks to its Fairy typing, it can deny Clangorous Soulblaze all together. On top of that, thanks to its good physical Defense, it also doesn't mind taking an unboosted, or even a boosted Poison Jab. In return it can obviously OHKO with Moonblast.

toxapex

:sm/Toxapex:
Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover
- Toxic
Toxapex is a counter
to Kommo-o because it can come in on its attacks and if Kommo-o goes for the boost it can Haze it afterwards, so it'll lose the omniboost and also the boost from dragon dance. Furthermore Toxapex can badly poison Kommo-o due to its 100% hit of Toxic.
Toxapex also tanks any attack even after an omniboost, so making it difficult for Kommo-o to break through Pex.
Toxapex also has access to Regenerator + Recover + Black Sludge which makes it able to wall Kommo-o entirely throughout the game.
All these things considered Toxapex is a good counter to Kommo-o.

some calcs:
+1 4 SpA Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 100-118 (32.8 - 38.8%) -- 99.2% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+1 252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Toxapex: 99-117 (32.5 - 38.4%) -- 99.1% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+1 252+ Atk Kommo-o Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Toxapex: 44-52 (14.4 - 17.1%) -- possible 8HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+2 252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Toxapex: 132-156 (43.4 - 51.3%) -- 59% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+2 252+ Atk Kommo-o Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Toxapex: 59-69 (19.4 - 22.6%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
+1 4 SpA Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 100-118 (32.8 - 38.8%) -- 99.2% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
4 SpA Kommo-o Clangorous Soulblaze vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Toxapex: 112-133 (36.8 - 43.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

Pyukumuku @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Recover
- Block
- Spite / Soak
- Rest / Toxic

Pyuku isn't as popular or as splashable a counter as Clef or Pex, but it still does the job! Thanks to Unaware, no combination of attacks can 2HKO Pyuku, leaving it free to trap and remove the Deinocheirus at its leisure. Spite/Rest variants abuse Clanging Scales and Close Combat's low PP and ignore Poison Jab poisons, while Soak/Toxic variants neuter Kommo's STABs (keeping Pyuku out of range of unlucky crits) and kill it faster than PP stalling it would. Also, Pyuku's cute.

4 SpA Kommo-o Clangorous Soulblaze vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Pyukumuku: 160-189 (50.9 - 60.1%) -- 87.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Pyukumuku: 115-136 (36.6 - 43.3%) -- 99.3% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
4 SpA Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Pyukumuku: 94-112 (29.9 - 35.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Magearna

:sm/magearna:

Magearna @ Fairium Z
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 140 Def / 112 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Pain Split
- Thunderbolt
- Fleur Cannon

Magearna is a check (Not too sure about that though) as it can come in relatively freely and threaten it out with a strong STAB fleur cannon. It can also recover some of its health back with pain split. A nice dual typing of fairy and steel also means that kommo o can't touch gear with anything other than cc which still does pitiful damage with this spread. Btw this spread also lets you live +2 lucha's hjk after rocks which is something.

252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 140 Def Magearna: 151-178 (41.5 - 49%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+2 252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 140 Def Magearna: 300-354 (82.6 - 97.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
112+ SpA Magearna Fleur Cannon vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kommo-o: 816-960 (279.4 - 328.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 140 Def Magearna: 151-178 (41.5 - 49%) -- 16% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 140 Def Magearna: 300-354 (82.6 - 97.5%) -- 25% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off

Mawile is a check to Dragon Dance Kommo-o. It can block Kommo-o's Clangorous Soulblaze and is immune to both Clanging Scales and Poison Jab, so the only attack Kommo-o can go for is Close Combat. If Mawile hasn't mega evolved beforehand, Intimidate can help Mawile to tank this. Kommo's attack stage is generally at:
  • -1 if it hasn't boosted and Mawile hasn't mega evolved yet
  • 0 if it has boosted once (either with Dragon Dance or Clangorous Soulblaze on another teammate) and Mawile hasn't mega evolved yet OR if it hasn't boosted and Mawile has already mega evolved
  • +1 if it has boosted once and Mawile has already mega evolved
  • anything else if you allowed for multiple boosts or have another teammate with Intimidate
The only situations in which this Mawile dies from full is if it comes in on a Close Combat while having already mega evolved, as it doesn't live two neutral Close Combats, and is also in range if it comes in on a Dragon Dance while having already mega evolved. It does live in these situations if it hasn't mega evolved yet thanks to Intimidate.
This means that Mawile will always win the matchup if it comes in on Kommo-o from full if it hasn't mega evolved yet. If it has already mega evolved before it is advised that you bring it in safely if possible.
Obviously Mawile always OHKOs Kommo-o with Play Rough. +6 Sucker Punch can even kill too thanks to Kommo-o's Lonely nature.

Calcs:
-1 252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 92 HP / 0 Def Mawile-Mega: 106-126 (40.1 - 47.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 92 HP / 0 Def Mawile-Mega: 159-187 (60.2 - 70.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252+ Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 92 HP / 0 Def Mawile-Mega: 237-280 (89.7 - 106%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Huge Power Mawile-Mega Play Rough vs. 4 HP / 0- Def Kommo-o: 1020-1204 (349.3 - 412.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252+ Atk Huge Power Mawile-Mega Sucker Punch vs. 4 HP / 0- Def Kommo-o: 264-311 (90.4 - 106.5%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

Important note: I went with this set which runs 92 HP as it is the most common but Mawile can and often does run more HP, making it a more reliable check. Substitute Mawile for instance runs 144 HP and OHKOs with Ice Punch (or Focus Punch) and Substitute could potentially ruin Kommo-o's day, but it should never come in on Mawile anyway.

Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 80 HP / 244 SpD / 184 Spe
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Soft-Boiled
- Will-O-Wisp
- Defog

Mew avoids the 2HKO from Clangourous(?) Soulblaze and +1 Clanging Scales. Kommo-o must boost to +2 to 2HKO with CC, and Mew can simply burn it with wil-o-wisp to neuter it. At that point you can wear it down with EQ and burn before it can boost enough to 2HKO.

Scarf Tapu Lele

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Fill

This is the best offensive check imo. Faster at +1. Take CC and immune to dragon. Survives +0 poison jab. OHKOs back

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Acid Armor
- Psyshock
- Recover

Acid Armor to better take physical hits and Calm Mind to better take special hits/boost Psyshock. Recover to keep Reuniclus healthy.
