Schedule:

General Format and Play
Ubers Premier League is an eight team tournament where managers with their assistant managers each draft a team of players to compete in a seven week round robin tournament. Each week teams earn points by winning games against the opposing team. The four teams with the highest totals of points at the end of the seventh week advance to the semifinals. The semifinals and subsequent finals are team versus team elimination rounds. The final team standing is the winner.

Scoring & Tiebreaking
Teams earn points each week in the following ways. Beating the other team means your team won a greater number of total games than the other team, and so on:
- A win counts as two points
- A tie counts as one point
- A loss counts as zero points
- A team earns battle difference (BD) equal to their total number of wins subtracted by their total number of losses

The teams that advance to the semifinals are the four with the highest number of points. If two or more teams in the running have an equal number of points selection is then based on BD. If two teams also have equal points and BD, selection is determined by a three player versus three player tiebreaker in which one of the tiers to be played is SS, and the other two are each selected by the managers of each team in double blind fashion. This means that both selections made for the tiebreaker slots are PMed to the host by the respective managers without knowing the other managers' choice.

The semifinals bracket is formed by the team with the highest placement playing the team with the fourth highest placement, thus the team with the second highest placement plays the team with the third highest placement. In the unlikely event that second and third positions are tied in points and BD, the seed is determined to be higher for the team that performed better in week seven. This process continues backward from week seven until the tie is resolved. The procedure for determining ties in semifinals or finals is the same as it is for determining semifinal placement, except that BD is no longer used once the four semifinalist teams have been selected.

Signups and Tier Lock
A bare minimum amount of information will be required for any player interested in signing up to play in the tournament as stipulated in the signups thread. Players will be tier locked for the first three weeks according to what they advertise in their signup posts. This means that for the first three weeks of play, a player can only be slotting in the tiers they indicated they would play in their signup. Tier lock does not apply to any player drafted for exactly 3,000 credits. Tier lock also does not apply to the best of three slot. Players who are banned from Smogon or banned from Pokemon Showdown at the time signups close are not permitted to play. Managers should take extra caution when drafting players who display ICBB status or have active infractions. Players who exhibit either of these will not be refunded or be allowed to be replaced if they are subsequently banned. Managers should also take extreme caution when drafting players who lack a presence, either in duration or post count, on Smogon forums. Such players may be alts of known players, unbanned or banned, and will be disqualified from play if discovered. Such players who exhibit a reasonable degree of suspicion will not be refunded or be allowed to be replaced if they are determined to be alts.

Team Composition, Budget, Self-Buys, Retentions, and Trades
Each team must have a minimum of ten starting slots to field, along with a minimum of two substitutes. As a result, the minimum team size is twelve players. The maximum number of players per team is twenty-four. Each team will have a starting budget of 120,000 credits, a sum identical to last season. The minimum price of any player is 3,000 credits. Both the manager and the assistant manager have an option to self-purchase for exactly 20,000 credits each. Teams may have retention rights if their team name is identical, or effectively identical, to their team last year, as outlined in the rules for taking over existing UPL teams. A team is allowed a maximum of two retentions. Retentions must consent. The cost of a retention is 10,000 credits, or their purchase price from last season plus 3,000 credits multiplied by the consecutive years of retainment, whichever is higher. Retention rights may be traded between managers prior to auction for any combination of credits and retains as agreed upon by the managers engaged in the transaction. Managers will not be allowed to "give away" retention rights without trading for reasonable compensation. Players may be traded after auction, but only prior to the completion of week one.

Substitutes, Replays, and Simulator:
Managers must notify the UPL host in order to make a substitution. A particular slot may not be substituted more than once per week. All matches must have a saved replay to be considered valid. All matches will be played on Pokemon Showdown, and preferably on the Smogontours server.

Team Abandonment & Unsportsmanlike Conduct
Players who commit team abandonment prior to the completion of week one and who are not in the categories outlined above may be entitled for replacement. In such a case the management team of the player who abandoned will be permitted to select an undrafted player from those who signed up as compensation. Players who commit team abandonment or similar unsportsmanlike conduct are subject to appropriate disciplinary action, which may include bans from future team tournaments. Banned users are also not permitted from participating or assisting teams in any way, and managers caught collaborating with banned users may be subject to disciplinary action, including the potential for fines prior to auction.

Dead Games
Dead games are an undesired, if not unavoidable circumstance from a hosting perspective, and are only utilized in specific scenarios where it is impossible to grant an extension or an activity win as both players exhibit a lack of willingness to complete the game. A dead game is one which has no impact on the standing of that week, thus a matchup that is "ignored". Dead games have implications on the possibilities of ties that week, and on BD. To further disincentive dead games and to prevent intentional abuse by managers, a consecutive dead game, either due to the same player or the same tier, will result in a subtraction of three BD from their team's running total.

Unforeseen Circumstances
In general, any situations or conditions not explicitly stipulated in these rules are up to host discretion as based on their experience and judgement. Standard Smogon tournament rules may be used as general guidelines in most cases. The host may consult tournament directors or other players with exceptional experience in tournament administration for the purposes of guidance and the consideration of alternatives, but ultimately the decision rests on the judgment of the host. There may also be extreme cases where the host is required to overturn a rule that has been stipulated here; however, such action is not to be taken lightly and is never to be anticipated.

The Defiant Durians have traded 6,000 credits to the DaReal Drizzlers in exchange for the retention rights of TJ.

The Defiant Durians have retained TJ for 10,000 credits and TonyFlygon for 16,000 credits.

The Defiant Durians total is now: 100,000 credits - 6,000 credits - 10,000 credits - 16,000 credits = 68,000 credits.

The DaReal Drizzlers total is now: 120,000 credits + 6,000 credits = 126,000 credits.

The Void Villains have self-purchased Fc for 20,000 credits.

The Void Villains have also traded 1,500 credits to the Defiant Durians in exchange for the retention rights to eden and have retained them for 10,000 credits.

The Void Villains total is now: 120,000 credits - 20,000 credits - 1,500 credits - 10,000 credits = 88,500 credits.

The Defiant Durians total is now: 68,000 credits + 1,500 credits = 69,500 credits.

re: Kenix

During Week 1 Kenix was permabanned from Smogon for homophobia and slur usage. Kenix had a history of multiple infractions over the last couple years related to unsportsmanlike conduct, but had no active infractions. While I cannot overstress the fact that managers are responsible for performing their due-diligence on any player they elect to draft, in this case the knowledge that Kenix has a history of unsportsmanlike conduct was not necessarily easily available to all the management teams due to the age of the infractions and the fact that Kenix does not have a history of participation in the Ubers community. Therefore the Alolan Mukkers are allowed to select a replacement from the undrafted pool, and have selected Nalorium.

re: 64 Squares

64 Squares has displayed consistently aggressive and negative behaviour towards members of his own team as a manager in UPL X, which is obviously unacceptable and does not line up with the standards we expect from managers in our tournaments. As such, the tournament host and the moderator team have decided to infract him and he will not be considered for management roles in Ubers team tournaments for one year following this post.
