Deoxys-Speed @ Light Clay
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt

Deoxys Speed matches perfectly with blaziken.
Deoxys can set up screens and rocks for blaziken
Once blaziken is behind screens, it avoids ohko's from almost everything, which can let it get up an sd.
After the SD, blaziken is set to just sweep, with no priorties users being able to ko it if reflect is still up.
Also, deoxys speed can get stealth rock up for Blaziken, also making it easier for blaziken to ohko everything.

Stallbreaker Yvetal

Yveltal @ Charti Berry
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpD / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Taunt
- Toxic
- Roost

Stallbreaker Yveltal has amazing type synergy with Mega Blaziken, and is able to switch into and break down many of the Pokemon that threaten Mega Blaziken, such as Giratina-O, Giratina-A, Zygarde-C, Arceus-Water, Lugia, Mega Slowbro, Arceus-Ground, Lunala, Primal Groudon, and Ultra Necrozma just to name a few. The heavy SpDef investment minimizes the chances of support Arceus's Ice Beam from 3HKOing and defensive Primal Kyogre's Ice Beam from 2HKOing this set to the lowest chance it could possibly be on a faster set, while leaving room for the use of Charti Berry to take on the set up sweepers that rely on Rock-type coverage such as Primal Groudon, Ultra Necrozma, and Arceus-Ground. It also lets it come in on Focus Blast/Ice Beam Lunala way easier than it could before. Meanwhile, the speed lets it outpace max speed Primals and everything slower.

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 160 HP / 252 SpA / 96 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Thunder
- Hidden Power Fire / Focus Blast

With some careful prediction, this can be an excellent partner for providing Blaziken with setup opportunities, which is in my opinion the most important thing to consider while using the SD set. Using Xerneas to lure specially defensive Necrozma-DM and Magearna, the two most common Geomancy Xerneas counterplay options, some well-timed switches to Blaziken will force them out by threatening them with Flare Blitz, giving it a free SD, lest they risk losing their Xern counter and thus, with this set in your pocket, the game.

Gothitelle @ Leftovers
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 244 HP / 108 Def / 156 SpD
Calm Nature
- Confide
- Charm
- Taunt
- Rest

Goth is a great partner for Blaze because it traps common checks to Blaze like Supportceus (Groundceus, Waterceus, etc), Helmet Pex, non-Dtail Lugia, and MegaBro (even other checks like Scarf Ygod locked into OWing and Scarf Xern if free switch/double). It then eliminates them and allows Blaze to sweep. In return Blaze offers some speed control.

Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spikes
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rapid Spin

Spikes helps to chip away at pokemon for Blaziken. Icicle Spear beats flying types for Blaziken and Rapid Spin provides hazard removal in a pinch.

Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 SpD
Relaxed Nature
-Toxic
-Stealth Rock
-Precipice Blades
-Overheat/Fire Blast

  • Primal Groudon doesn't require an introduction as anyone who plays Ubers is more than well aware of PDon's position as the best Pokemon in the tier. A combination of continental attacking stats with huge bulk as well as a diverse movepool cements this pokemon as something that always exists as a choice alongside any Ubers Pokemon.
  • Defensive PDon exists especially as a great M-Blaziken partner due to its ability to blanket check a huge portion of the metagame, protecting Blaziken from having its sweeps cut short by wearing down walls with Toxic and laying Stealth Rock to put teams in range of Blaziken's attacks.
  • Groudon's ablility to soft check common threats like Xerneas and Primal-Kyogre and 2HKOing them with Precipice Blades makes Don a wall with the unique ability to always threaten switch ins and not be subject to being set up on.
  • Overheat is a powerful option when boosted by Sun, allowing Groudon to cleanly OHKO Marshadow and other important squishy Pokemon, while also denting common switch ins to Precipice Blades. Fire Blast is an option that allows Groudon to continue threatening these Pokemon without having its Sp.Atk drop, but the drop in power is noticeable and dropping from a 100% chance to OHKO Marsh to a 12.5% with Fire Blast is noticeable without rocks up.
  • This Pokemon exists as a perfect partner to Blaziken due to threatening common Blaziken Sweep enders like support Arceus, allowing Blaziken to safely set up and sweep with rocks up.

Next week matchmaking is...

Arceus @ Chople Berry
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Shadow Claw
- Recover

[Sub ends 9th September]

Xerneas @ Leftovers
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Rest
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy

Ekiller Arceus is susceptible to the Giratinas, defensive Yveltal, Zygarde-C, and defensive Mega Salamence, many of which can either status it, or phaze it out with Dragon Tail, Roar, or Whirlwind. If the Chople Berry has been Knocked Off or used up, Marshadow becomes a major problem for it, as well. Arceus is also vulnerable to hazard stack teams, especially those that take advantage of Toxic Spikes. Bulky Cleric Xerneas is able to alleviate all of these problems by being able to switch into these threats, Defog the hazards away, and act as a status absorber and healer with Rest and Aromatherapy, respectively.

Ability: Prism Armor
EVs: 32 Def / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Photon Geyser
- Heat Wave
- Dragon Pulse

Arceus loves SR support as with most sweepers, but Dragon Pulse Ultra Necrozma separates itself from other Rockers due to handling 90% of the checks that Extreme Killer has. Managing the bulkier Ghosts of the tier means Arceus has less trouble spamming Extreme Speed, while Chople Berry can keep Marshadow and Mega Gengar at bay to an extent. Bulkier walls like Lugia, Zyg-C, defensive MegaMence and Steel-types get obliterated by Light That Burns The Sky and Heat Wave, especially if the former has taken Rocks damage. In return, Arceus’ good bulk and lack of shared weaknesses means it will usually find one oppurtunity to set up in front of a Unec check.

Yveltal @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Foul Play
- Dark Pulse
- Oblivion Wing
- U-turn

Oblivion Wing deals with fighting pokemon, Foul Play hits set up pokemon hard. Dark Pulse hits specially weak pokemon harder. U-turn as a pivot.

  • E-Killer Arceus' niche as an effective late game cleaner on an offensive team is its greatest role and requires less set up than your average cleaner due to its great bulk giving it more Sword's Dance opportunities.
  • That is why I believe the most important partner to E-Killer is Stealth Rock/a pokemon that can dent/lethally threaten some of Arceus' checks such as defensive Yveltal, Marshadow, Mega Lucario, Mega Gengar, and Steel Types.
  • This leads me to my obvious submission:
Groudon-Primal @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 144 HP / 156 Atk / 56 SpD / 152 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance
- Precipice Blades
- Rock Tomb
  • Offensive Stealth Rock Groudon fulfills all above criteria, while also effectively chipping away at walls such as support Arceus forms.
  • The only remaining threat to a core including both of these pokemon is Giratina-O which is easily answered by other great partners that make up common offensive cores, such as Yveltal, Marshadow, Xerneas, and Mega-Gengar, which fit right onto offensive teams with Groudon as the Stealth Rocker.
  • This specific Groudon set also allows Groudon to help put Geomancy Xerneas in range of Extreme Speed from Arceus, as well as slowing down faster threats to Arceus so they can be answered by Arceus' teammates.
  • Overall, PDon is already the best Stealth Rocker for any team without Deoxys-S, making it a natural fit for any archetype built around E-Killer as a cleaner due to its natural home being on offensive cores.

Xerneas @ Power Herb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 168 Def / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Geomancy
- Moonblast
- Thunder
- Hidden Power Fire

Geomancy Xerneas is one of the Xerneas set people would expect to find in sound structured hyper offensive teams that need an offensive check to Marshadow, Giratina forms, Yveltal and Zygarde and as well as having offensive pressure.

In an offensive inclined team Xerneas has always been a premium partner for E-Killer due to having great offensive synergy and offensive support. Xerneas is an acceptable answer to the mentioned threats earlier which can be problematic for E-Killer but it depends on the set for Yveltal and Zygarde. It somewhat shares the same checks with E-Killer that is being Offensive Dusk Mane Necrozma, Lugia, Mega Scizor and Ditto - this also allows Xerneas after it has Geo'd to go wild and soften down the said checks in order to pave a way for E-Killer to pick off the weaken targets.

Even so this GeoXern set is armed with the appropriate coverage moves: Thunder and HP-Fire to combat Steels mons that would otherwise be an obstacle for E-Killer. Steels like Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn and Ground-immune Steel types save for Full-HP Skarmory are all OHKO's after a Geomancy boost.

Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Power Construct
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Dragon Tail
- Glare / Toxic
- Rest

Defensive Zygarde-C helps with checks to Ekiller, such as Marshadow and Primal Groudon, and punishes them with either status or phazing. Toxic is an option with Zygarde to punish other Arceus formes that may make setup tough for Arceus.

Next Pokemon in need of a match is...

Genesect @ Choice Band
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Extreme Speed
- Explosion
[Sub ends 23rd September]

Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Hex
- Dragon Pulse
- Thunder Wave

Giratina-O can use Defog in order to keep Genesect healthy. Thunder Wave helps to slow your opponents pokemon down so Genesect has more chances to use U-turn over a match.

Kyogre greatly appreciates U-turn from its teammates as it doesn't like to be brought on the field via a hard switch, as it won't want its Water Spout being weakned. In addition, Genesect attracts exactly the foes that Primal Kyogre wants to be against, like Ho-Oh, support Arceus formes like Ground, and especially, Primal Groudon, as with Primal Groudon on the field and with rain up, barely any team will have a switch for it, almost guaranteeing a KO. In return, Genesect can also deal with the rare Grass-types that could be used to check Kyogre and KO a faster threat that could hit Kyogre before it could hit it back, like Ultra Necrozma, or weaken some Pokémon that would be able to take one hit otherwise with Explosion.
