KING OF 1337 UBERS.
How, and when, did that happen? Last month it was at #6 with only 444 uses! Right now it takes about 63% of the metagame?! Damn. Groudon has seen a great fall in usage, dropping from the peak to #6. Thug life. Kyogre still didn't get its throne back, which is fairly surprising to me. Steel Arceus had an amazing jump, from #34 to #13 -- a jump of 21 spots! The number of Dragon Dance Pokemon such as Rayquaza may have caused this, as Steel Arceus tanks these boosted Outrages like a champ. Let's move to Rated Ubers now. The first thing you see is a jump in battles: just about 300 more battles! Keep it up guys! The first three spots are still the same Kyogre, Mewtwo, and Groudon. Ferrothorn jumped here to #4, taking Palkia's spot. Palkia is not at #6, which is completely weird; it's the best offensive Kyogre switch-in in the entire game, and with Lustrous Orb or the SubPunch set it's extremely hard to stop. I'm also surprised Rayquaza fell 1 spot. With V-create it should be abused much more! Garchomp, the landshark, also got its spot back at #17. Personally I am dying to try it already, but I'm too busy with the RW challenge.

It's great (and annoying at the same time) to see Ferrothorn to be the kind of 1337 Ubers, but there weren't many 1337 battles it seems like. Oh well.

Poor guy needs a lot more love. He is a really good Wallbreaker and really tears down a lot of Pokemon. I've always been a little surprised how he is almost never in the top 10.

This problem is exacerbated in ubers because of the small player base. 1337 stats aren't averaged for the entire month like the general stats, but only taken once at the beginning of each month. I don't even know why Antar bothers doing 1337 stats if they're going to be collected in such a silly way, honestly. All it does is mislead people.

From the moveset analysis, what I found surprising is that the amount of users using V-create on Rayquaza, is only 2.7%. I did not get to test it yet, but I'd always prefer it over Overheat, that holds 22.3% of the usage. I'm shocked because everyone were so excited about it, but maybe many people do not like the stats drop.

honestly, I can't see any reason to use V-Create over Overheat. True you're generally using a physical set, so V-create does more damage, but Overheat does fine against Ferrothorn/Skarm (except when it misses <.<)

V-create is also as powerful as stab outrage, so if you need the power to kill a (weakened) groudon, for example, you can do it without locking yourself in. I'd use it in every set except DD (speed drop...).

I also agree giratina-o needs more usage, giratina-a is so hazard weak :(

0SpA -nature Overheat does min 90% to 252HP/252SpDef Careful Skarmory and doesn't end your sweep. Use Fire Blast on MixedRay, of course. The fact that V-Create pretty much forces Rayquaza out is the biggest problem. Dialga stops SDRay after a speed drop while +2 Adamant Dragon Claw always KOs after spikes. DDRay is suddenly a very easy revenge kill at +1/+0 and with SR down and LO recoil, its very unlikely either will get a chance to set up again.

If you use Overheat or Fire Blast, even if you don't hit their steel, you still have a +1/+1 or +2 Rayquaza and that's still pretty hard to deal with. But as soon as you use V-Create, your sweeps over.
It could work on MixedRay, but whenever I used V-Create, I wasn't impressed. IMO, the best niche for it would be with a choiced set because you probably don't want to stay after being forced to use a fire move anyway but I'm not sure how well a choiced set would work in the first place.

I don't see why won't you use it on the Swords Dance set; that would be just brutal. 180 permanant Base Power due to Air Lock coming from 876 Attack will just murder anything not named Palkia, Reshiram, or Heatran. The former two also have a chance to be 2HKOed but that's irrelevant. I'd always prefer Fire Blast over Overheat 100% of the time, as that sharp drop in SpA is not worth the single 140 BP, but the permanent 120 BP. And I disagree with you saying that once you use V-create your sweep is over. Firstly, V-create does not lower your Attack so the Swords Dance set is still extremely powerful. +1 Rayquaza is not a pleasure to deal with as well. Moreover, most of the counters to Rayquaza are Choice Scarfers, such as Palkia, that can take a boosted ExtremeSpeed and OHKO back, or opposing priority users, such as Arceus and Thundurus. I could see V-create working in MixedQuaza, but it would have a tough combat against Fire Blast, as both are extremely useful.

It seems like Ghosts are really common in the 1337 stats. Assuming people don't carry more than one Ghots-type (which is always true for Giratina / Giratina-O, and I doubt a lot of people run Giratina + Ghost Arceus), 89% of 1337 teams carry a spinblocker. Seems like once hazards go up, they stay up.

is this true? if so, I'd also agree that they are useless and would explain the change on top spots month to month. All it takes to a good team/player/alt is a couple of days to get into top 20.

Yes, it's true.

I find the 1337 stats interesting to see, but some people take then waaaaaay too seriously, and a lot of "n00bs" just look at them each month to decide what to use on their teams to pretend to be an experienced player.

Yeah, while we really do need to look at the top ranked players, the 1337 stats are taken from too small of a player-pool to give an accurate picture of general metagame trends. The last time I checked, there were only 17 players with ratings with ratings above 1337, which doesn't tell us much at all.

^ in ubers the "1337" cut off is 1200 I think (or 1250) so it covers more players. I may even add that ever since the Research Week, competition has rose significantly. I remember a couple of months ago where ppl with 1200 were in top 30 or even top 20 and now the second page is full with 1200s.

Even in the tiers where there's a large pool of players used for the 1337 stats, they're still not that meaningful because of the way they're calculated.

Not saying they're completely worthless, but I really think the way some posters analyse them and compare them, they're taking them a bit too seriously.
