Description: Peacemaker is the spin-off series starring John Cena's character from James Gunn's The Suicide Squad movie. He also wrote the entirety of the series during the filming of his movie as a side project during the pandemic. It begins with Peacemaker waking up in a hospital after a near-fatal injury incurred during the events of The Suicide Squad and ever-so-briefly celebrating his newfound freedom before being pulled back into service by Amanda Waller and teaming up with a ragtag bunch of misfits with their own varying specialties. The dialogue keeps the tone pretty light throughout, but there are bits of seriousness scattered here and there. You'll join for the comedy and action but stay for the S-tier intro sequence!

Genre: Drama, Sport
Description: In Michael B. Jordan's directorial debut, he managed to not only helm a worthy sequel to the Rocky franchise, but rebound after what I considered a so-so sequel in Creed II, as well as bring a new energy to the series that was much-needed. Due to conflicts behind the scenes with rights and whatnot (to no fault of MBJ from what I understand), Rocky actually does not appear in the film, but that doesn't stop the movie from feeling connected. Johnathan Majors is a force of an actor in his portrayal of Damian Anderson. It was refreshing to see a fresh and multi-layered antagonist not derivative of a recurring character and had my theatre not kicked it out after 2 weeks I'd have tried to catch in on the big screen a 2nd time.

Chris Hemsworth proving (not for the first time) that he's a fantastic action star even without the costumes and CGI. Alongside Chris is the breakout star of the movie - the stellar cinematography, as nearly everything feels real and in-camera, and there is rarely a moment where you as a viewer are ever confused as to what is being portrayed on screen at any one time.

Description: The series picks up 10 years after the events of Dexter with our hero (?) living in a small town in upper New York under a new name and occupation. Things are going smoothly for Dexter, even if life is a little more dull and a lot colder than Miami, but matters are complicated when his son Harrison shows up out of the blue.

The series does a good job righting some of the wrongs of what the fandom considers a stain on its legacy with the original finale, and it's great to see the character on screen again. It's also an overall improvement after the series' last few seasons in my opinion. New Blood may not reach the emotional peaks of season 4, but it's a (probable) conclusion I believe fans can rally behind after the long break.
