Toxapex is an amazing defensive Pokemon that fits on many teams because of its bulk, typing, and access to reliable recovery. Toxic allows Toxapex to cripple various Pokemon, mainly Dynamax users, while Haze is great for checking setup sweepers. These two moves, along with Recover, make Toxapex hard to take down for many teams across the board. Toxapex should be used as a defensive check to various Pokemon, and Toxic and Scald should be used liberally to spread status and wear down the opposition. When Toxapex is worn down, Regenerator should be taken advantage of in order to remain healthy. Maximum Defense and HP investment along with a Bold nature allows Toxapex to deal with threatening Pokemon such as Gyarados, Bisharp, and Dragapult more comfortably.

Offensive Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Barraskewda, and Gyarados appreciate Toxapex's ability to switch into and wear down the opposing team using status. Toxapex is also prone to being beaten by Dynamax users as well as wallbreakers, so offensive Pokemon such as the aforementioned Seismitoad and Barraskewda as well as Choice Scarf users like Rotom-W and Dracovish are appreciated to revenge kill threatening Pokemon like Gyarados, Indeedee, and Hydreigon. Other Pokemon such as Pelipper and Seismitoad synergize well defensively with Toxapex, with Pelipper providing a Ground-type immunity and Seismitoad taking on Electric-type attacks. Toxapex itself is great for absorbing status and taking Grass-type attacks alongside this.

- add dracovish as a teammate

- crawdaunt does not beat indeedee because of psychic terrain
