Introduction
"The guardian deities, the Tapus, have protected the islands of Alola for many years. The Tapus are also known to determine who is the strongest of them all, testing a trainer's ability whenever they are challenged."

Listening to your guide describing the Tapus only made you more excited to cross paths with them. The guide stops his boat and looks back at you.

"Which island are we heading to?"

It is time for you to decide which Tapu you want to encounter. Do you have what it takes to become the wielder of them all?

RP Overview
RP 1 > RP 2 > Rare Encounter (if triggered) > Guardians > RP 3 > RP 4 > Boss

Scenarios
You tell the guide you want to head towards Poni Island, so the boat heads for it.

The dock he parked at was located near a small pond, which you determine is where you need to go. You run headstrong into the forest leaving the guide to wait at his boat.

Running through the forest, you slow down to begin walking and catch a whiff of the fresh scent of the water ahead, motivating you to keep moving. While walking, you become very perplexed as you were pretty sure you smelled water, but instead you are walking through a sandstorm, and it's not registering why. Suddenly, a barrage of rocks are hurled at you and your Pokemon! When the smoke clears, you realize that <Pokemon> has been separated from you and the rest of the team by the rocks, which you determine were hurled by the Hippowdon in front of <Pokemon> Hippowdon chucks some mud at <Pokemon>, and then bellows, signaling it is time to fight. You figured out how to get around the rocks, but it will take about 2 rounds for this to happen.

[REF NOTE: Initiate Trap Encounter vs Hippowdon. Arena: Shallow Pool. Trap Moves: Stealth Rock (this is laid before the fight, so the trapped mon takes damage from it before R1), Mud-Slap. Target: Active Electric-type Pokemon with the highest Atk. If there are no active Electric-typed Pokemon, then the Active Pokemon with the highest Atk. If more than 1 Pokemon qualifies, randomize between them. After the fight, give Reprieve and proceed to River of Blessings.]
Having dealt with Hippowdon, you take a look around, and realize that the sandstorm you were walking through is completely gone, and none of the effects from it even affected the area. Trying not to confuse yourself, you press onwards.

Walking forward, you come across a river that has 2 different paths across it. The first of them that you notice is a log that might have been from one of the nearby patches of trees. You look further right and see the bridge that spans the gap, noting the possibly poor integrity of the bridge since it is a wooden bridge. You know you need to get across the river, it just becomes a manner of how you are getting across the river.

Player Options
a) Take the log bridge
b) Take the wooden bridge

IF a)

You decide that the log bridge is probably the safest choice of passage, and you embark across it. While you are walking, a group of Skrelp pop out of the water and lash at your team with their tails, poisoning the team. It appears the rattling of the log had bothered them. You shrug off the attacks and get across safely, then take time to tend to your team.

[REF NOTE: Deal damage from Poison Tail from R3 Atk STAB on each Active Pokemon (without spread penalty). Give a reprieve, then proceed to Connection.]

IF b)

You always knew you were bad at crossing logs as a child, and as such, you decided to just cross the wooden bridge. As you initially suspected, the bridge collapses right beneath you and your team! The water damage had made the bridge unable to support the weight of you and your Pokemon.

[REF NOTE: Proceed to River Performance.]
Having fallen in the water, your clothes are now soaked, but you need to figure out the situation at hand. You check your Pokemon to see that nothing had happened to them either. You look down for a second to realize that the river is very shallow and that you can stand up. As you do so, you realize that there is a circle of Skrelp watching you. The group parts, and a Dragalge makes its way through into the circle. The Dragalge begins floating, and assumes a combat stance. Your Pokemon start to move forward, and the Skrelp prepare to jump into action, knowing that would be an unfair fight. Acknowledging that threat, you realize that this is supposed to be a 1v1 for the the entertainment of the circle. You oblige, and the battle begins!

[REF NOTE: Initiate Rare Encounter vs Dragalge. Arena: River's Surface.]

IF Challenger completes the battle without any Pokemon fainting

Dragalge and the Skrelp all begin applauding as a sign of their appreciation for your masterful battling style. One of the Skrelp behind the Dragalge comes forward with a Super Potion and gives it to you, as a reward for winning the duel. Dragalge and some of the Skrelp use Water Gun to help lift you and your Pokemon onto the other side of the river, where you were headed. After all that, you finally got to your destination, and now it is time to press forward.

[REF NOTE: Challenger gets 1x Super Potion. Give a reprieve, then proceed to Connection.]

ELSE

Dragalge bows in acceptance of his victory to the sounds of many applauding Skrelp. Afterwards, Dragalge and some of the Skrelp use Water Gun to help lift you and your Pokemon onto the other side of the river, where you were headed. After all that, you finally got to your destination, and now it is time to press forward.

[REF NOTE: Give a reprieve, then proceed to Connection.]
After the river, you walk through a very delicate path, lined with trees and bushes. Once you emerge from the thicket, you come upon yet another pond. At this pond you see an Azumarill and a Gastrodon playing together in the water. You remember what happened last time you tried interrupting a play session in the water, so you instead try to just around the pond. They notice you and become highly offended that you didn't even try to play with them. As a result, they hop out the water and rush your team!

[REF NOTE: Initiate Guardian Encounter vs Azumarill and Gastrodon. Arena: Waters of Friendship. After the fight, give a reprieve, then proceed to Playfulness.]
After capturing/dispatching the last of the guardians, you decide to keep moving forwards as you are seeing the effect of Tapu Fini's radiating happiness across the land continue to increase. You notice that you have been traveling for long enough that it is now raining out, just as the forecast predicted.

Walking through the tropical landscape, you realize that the rain is starting to intensify. So much to the point that there are puddles on the ground, large enough to cause an annoying splash if you walk through them. You press forward though, since you haven't seen a reason not to. As you keep walking, you suddenly encounter a rather angry Ludicolo and 2 Lotad. These Pokemon seem upset that you are walking on their land, so they attack you, but your Pokemon protect you, and prepare themselves for combat.

[REF NOTE: Initiate Nest Encounter vs Ludicolo and 2x Lotad. Arena: Splashing Grounds. After the fight, give a Reprieve and proceed to Oasis.]
After dealing with the rather berserk family that attacked you, you press forward through the rain. Looking up, you realize that you have finally reached the ruins, and decide to head inside. A few feet into the ruins and it's pitch-black, much to your surprise. After the lights are turned on, you realize that this is one of those oases you keep hearing about. When you arrive, a Luvdisc and a Ralts greet you and offer you their services. Whose offer do you take?

Player Options
a) Accept the Ralts' offer
b) Accept the Luvdisc's offer
c) Accept both offers
d) Accept neither offer

IF a)

You nod to the Ralts, who then comes over and releases an aura that encapsulates your Pokemon. Afterwards, you wave goodbye and head forward into the heart of the ruins.

[REF NOTE: All Active Pokemon gain 15 HP. Give a Reprieve, then proceed to Optimism.]

IF b)

You nod to the Luvdisc, who then comes over and releases a stream of bubbles in a rhythmic pattern, soothing your Pokemon. Afterwards, you wave goodbye and head forward into the heart of the ruins.

[REF NOTE: All Active Pokemon gain 15 EN. Give a Reprieve, then proceed to Optimism.]

IF c)

You nod to the Ralts and the Luvdisc. Ralts comes over and releases an aura that encapsulates your Pokemon, and Luvdisc comes over and releases a stream of bubbles in a rhythmic pattern, soothing your Pokemon. Afterwards, you wave goodbye and head forward into the heart of the ruins.

[REF NOTE: All Active Pokemon gain 15 HP and 15 EN. Give a Reprieve, then proceed to Optimism.]

IF d)

You politely deny the services of both Pokemon, as to avoid inconveniencing them. They seem understanding of your statement and go back into their residences. You proceed forward into the heart of the ruins, hoping you didn't make the wrong decision.

[REF NOTE: Give a Reprieve, then proceed to Optimism.]
On the way out of the oasis, you notice there is a shining object on the ground. Upon closer examination, you determined that it is the fabled Tapunium Z, the item that allows the 4 Island Guardians to connect with the Guardian of Alola. This means you must be getting close to your target. But do you pick up the crystal?

Player Actions
a) Pick up the Tapunium Z
b) Don't pick up the Tapunium Z

You and your Pokemon enter the ruins, and are immediately bewildered by the scent of the fresh spring water. It pours into the ruin from 8 various openings in the walls of the ruin, creating pools of spring water, which create the heavenly scent. In the center where these 8 pools of spring water meet, there is a pedestal with an orb on top of it. You navigate the room carefully as to not fall in the water, and reach the central platform. As you approach the orb itself, it flashes! You are blinded by a strong white light, and when you finally regain sight, a salmon-colored mist has flooded the chamber. Across the mist you see what you have come here for. Tapu Fini, accompanied by a Slowking, stand across from you in the mist. Your Pokemon take position in front of you, which Tapu Fini takes as a battle challenge and releases a noise that can only be interpreted as an acceptance. Tapu Fini and Slowking brace themselves, giving you the first move.

IF a) was chosen earlier this RP

Before the battle starts, Tapu Fini glows with a golden hue. You wonder what could be causing it, but you soon realize once you notice that the Tapunium Z that was once in your bag is now floating above Tapu Fini. This fight just got a bit more serious, but you are still firm in your stance to finally capture yourself a Tapu Fini.

Dogfish44 so he sees this. (I'll delete when this is edited in) :)

Hotfix: Ruins of Hope now has an arena effect that gives Misty Terrain +3 BAP on Fairy-typed attacks. Not a buff so much as this TLR being released/completed before the Misty Terrain change. Effective immediately
