The Little Cup Replay Thread

Shamelessly stolen from Ubers

Little Cup is a game where things are about wearing the opposition down. These kinds of struggles can cause massive mind games that can make some Little Cup games very intense to watch and play. Even though there is a lack of much team variety, there are a lot of fun games to have. So, I decided to post a replay thread/database for people to enjoy.

A fun game I had when I was bored. Was pretty tense even though the score wasn't too narrow.

An incredibly intense match with mindgames everywhere with my friend Icicle Fish meeting each other on the ladder.
oh yeah btw, its corkscrew's team

A very long match with many different insanities going on against someone on the ladder called "Le Austin". There were many times where a Pokemon constantly switched in until it couldn't anymore and there was a lot of switching, wearing down, and double switching.

Here is a match against Antar with him using Hawkstar's rmt and me using the very first version of my current rmt. It was a pretty good game although we both made a couple of misplays. Me using Blizzard on turn 19 was the main one for me, whilst if he didn't switch Snover in on turn 21 he would have won the game, purely for the fact it would have been alive. I guess I could have played the mind games at the end better as well.
-Corkscrew

This was a ladder match with somebody called Booxexa. It was a pretty good game overrall with no luck at all iirc (if there was I don't think it mattered). I guess there was a large mistake on his part for not using Ice Shard on turn 26. That could have won him the game, but other than that it was a good battle.

I actually got a really good battle which ended in a Numel sweeping against someone who was actually good. (as in they didn't try to will-o-wisp it.)
-Corkscrew

Another battle vs Icicle Fish. I know that if you just look at the end result, it won't seem very close, but if he had Giga Drained Tirtouga, he probably would have won heh. Really intense match with the switching.
-Charmander

Me vs. Corkscrew, me using Sand+Wynaut and him using a modified version of my normal sand team. It came really close at the end, and overall it was a really funny battle. Lots of predictions, and Reflectfoo saved me two times in this battle. If I wasn't stupid at the end and drain punched instead of u-turn, I would've probably won. All in all, a very good battle.

An old battle against Swan of Songs, where I used the early version of my voltturn team (I replaced Archen with Murkrow and drilbur with Staryu). A lot of switches, both on his side and in my voltturn core. I would've cleaned easily late-game if I wasn't stupid and didn't leave snover on mienfoo, and the end was really close, but I managed to win thanks to hail. Slowpoongus regenerator core is annoying.

Little Cups 4 finals. A match I had with Electrolyte that was very interesting. There were a decent chunk of mindgames going through (like some double-switches, good riolu play and me switching Larvesta in on SR) and it was an overall good game. This showed the power of both of our bulky Grass-types (shroomish and foongus) doing really good work on each other. They both also featured the power of Spore in the meta and was an overall good game. Also, Liechi Berry Tirtouga is interesting.

Fun Replays to Watch:

WARNING: Don't watch this one if you came here for close and exciting games. My opponent wasn't great but there's nothing cooler than a Numel sweep.
-Corkscrew

EDIT: Made it look nicer and adding other people's replays. Replays can be posted here and will be posted in the OP as long as they aren't really dumb. They are also categorized depending on how tense the games were. I have the choice to decline some of the replays for the OP though.

Oh my god. That match with Icicle Fish was tense and had SO MUCH switching.
Will add replays as soon as i get a good match.

(also, someone fix the [replay] tags to use showdown replays instead of aesoft's which doesn't work since a few months, it would be cool yo)

If you switched Lileep in on turn 38 you would have won. Though I dunno if you knew if I was evio or LO.

alright so.... THREAD RESSURECTION!!!!! I'm not really sure how to do that but I wish i could. I just wanna add that you guys can put replays of you testing some pokemon/ideas out in LC so we can see the results and learn more via replays. Also, I'm just gonna put up my Finals match vs Electrolyte in Little Cups 4 up on the hub

Got a really great game here against Ryuzaki San (Grimsley on the forums) in the finals of an LC tourney on Pokemon Showdown! It starts of a bit sloppy, so don't be put off, the end is so close and intense!
There was minor hax turn 8, but you can never know if this will effect the outcome of the game.

I think I should explain some of the plays I made right at the end, spoilers!

Turn 25 - I predicted the Sucker Punch, I could encore him in to that, I could have gone for the Psychic as he switched into Mienfoo, but he could have stayed in, I suppose, so in hindsight, maybe not the best play.

Turn 26 - Looks like a horrible play on my part, and at the time I thought it was too, but if I had predicted the U-turn and gone for HP fighting, then he could just switch in Mienfoo and take both my remaining guys out. The Psychic enabled me to have a chance to switch in Murkrow and get sub up, resulting in a Tie or even a win for me if I managed to somehow Roost up to a range where I wan not going to kill myself from BB recoil.

Turn 27 - Kinda the same idea as the last turn, but if I locked him itno Sucker Punch that would have been even better, so I think that was the best lay I could have made.

Turn 31 - Not much I could do here, it was a 50/50, if I got it right we tied, if he got it right, he won. In hindsight, Roost looks like a better play, because Iron Head would have been too much of a risky play for him to go for, as if I had Brave Birded while he Iron Headed, I would have won, but going for the Sucker Punch as I used Roost would have still given him a good chance if he predicted the next one right.

Really solid game, and a fantastic example of how to use Riolu properly by blarajan. This game led me to start using Riolu on some teams, and it really is an amazing Pokemon. also proves i'm better

blaraedit: you had to pick a log i sucked dick in didn't you =(

(I'm Lift Tunes)

Ridiculously long game- shows the importance of recovery on balance teams and the solidity of a well built defensive core (on my opponent's part). Also has a pretty bullshit ending if you like those kinds of things (skip to turn 85 if that's what you want to see).
