The last time I battled competitively was HGSS. What metagame changes since then would surprise me the most?

Girafarig, Dunsparce, Primeape, and even fucking Bisharp got evolutions this gen. Primeape's, named "Annihilape", a Fighting / Ghost-type, got banned to Ubers, too.
