The Battle Tree
The Battle Tree is a PvE game mode that features Pokemon battles, critical-thinking puzzles, and light roleplay. It is suitable for players of all skill levels but requires Pokemon of Stage 3* or higher. Entry cost is 12 JC.
Challenge Details:
Roleplay Segment Details:
Each battle is preceded by a Roleplay Segment. Roleplay Segments are open-ended puzzles where the challenger and their Pokemon may act freely, ignoring the standard rules of BBP battle. Each Roleplay Segment begins with the ref describing some sort of obstacle or complication that the challenger must overcome.
The challenger must respond with a Solution. The challenger's Solution is their plan for overcoming the obstacle. In order to be valid, the challenger's Solution must make use of their Pokemon according to the following guidelines:
At the end of the Roleplay Segment, if the challenger's solution is valid, then the challenger is awarded 1 TC for each Pokemon that participated by using something it has not used in a previous Roleplay Segment.
Prizes:
A Pokemon may not simultaneously evolve and advance its Stage.
If a challenger earns the opportunity to advance their Pokemon's Stage, and they choose not to advance the Stage of one (1) of their challenging Pokemon, they gain an extra 4 RC. This bonus does not stack (e.g. there is no further bonus for declining Stage 4* and Stage 5* at once, and there is no further bonus for declining to advance both challenging Pokemon).
Sign-Up Procedures:
If you wish to become a Tree ref, please talk to me on Discord or send me a conversation here on Smogon. At minimum, you must have some experience battling and reffing, and you must be comfortable with applying the Damage Formula. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

But you're not here for leisure -- today, you're here to track down a wanted criminal, capture them, and claim the sizable bounty on their head.
Mystery Jungle: A dense rainforest with wet, marshy soil underfoot and several layers of tree foliage overhead. You came to explore after hearing rumors of an ancient temple filled with treasure.
