Just like in previous years, in 2023, Monotype players will be able to compete for a prize ribbon that shows who is the best individual tournament player of the year! To reach this goal, players will have to participate in a series of tournaments displaying different skills, and performing their best to earn as many circuit points as possible. At the end of the year, there will be playoffs featuring the 16 players with the most circuit points. The winner of the playoffs will be crowned the 2023 Monotype Circuit Champion, receive a custom avatar on PS!, and receive this ribbon and will remain colored until another player becomes the circuit champion in a future year:

Playoffs Information:
The top 16 players will qualify based on circuit points seeding. All ties will be determined by the following, number of tours played, highest placement (down to the last tour), and if it can't be settled then it will go into a tiebreak. The bracket creation is described here. The Playoffs will stay as a Bo5.
Changes to the Circuit:
- Since this is the first circuit of Scarlet & Violet Monotype, posting replays will be mandatory from round 1 in all tours.
- Monotype Generations will no longer happen, to prevent old gens from invading a current generation circuit.
- SV Monotype is a part of the Monotype Cup, it will be the only tour in Monotype Cup that count towards the circuit. There will be a Monotype Cup including SV, SS, SM, ORAS, and BW Cups, with the Top 16 seeds advancing to the playoffs. A thread will be posted explaining Monotype's First Cup, closer to the beginning of SV Cup.
- Monotype is introducing a late-year Single Elimination Tournament, Monotype Last Chance, which will be a Type B Tournament.
- The scoring system now has 3 categories, Type A, Type B, and MLT. Type A will have both Seasonals and SV Cup, Type B will have Monotype Last Chance, and MLT scoring stays the same. Type A and Type B are scoring systems for each tours, Type A tours allow participants to earn more points!
