Resource The 2022 Monotype Circuit

Just like in previous years, for 2022, Monotype players will be able to compete for a prize ribbon that shows who is the best individual tournament player of the year! To reach this goal, players will have to participate in a series of tournaments displaying different skills, performing their best to earn as many circuit points as possible. At the end of the year, there will be a playoffs featuring the 16 players with the most circuit points. The winner of the playoffs will be crowned the 2022 Monotype Circuit Champion and receive this ribbon and will remain colored until another player becomes the circuit champion in a future year:

Signups Schedule:

• Spring Seasonal - January 2nd
• Monotype Generations Tournament - January 30th
• Monotype Ladder Tournament - Laddering begins May 1st, Playoffs begin May 30th
• SS Monotype Cup - July 31st
• Fall Seasonal - August 14th

Playoffs - December 4th

Playoffs Information:
The top 16 players will qualify based on circuit points seeding. All ties for the last/remaining seed(s) will be broken by a tiebreaker bracket. The seeding will be randomized for the tiebreak. The bracket creation is described here.

Changes to the Circuit:
- We are replacing one of the three Seasonals with Monotype Open (Single Elimination Bo3 Tournament). This tournament will feature a cash prize!
- We will no longer be using the Grand Slam scoring system, the new scoring system is below.
- The Monotype Circuit Playoffs will now be Best of 5.

Hello all, I made a new sheet that keeps a record of the Monotype Circuit 2022's points. The link can be found HERE!

This sheet should calculate all points and acquire the names of everyone who participates in any of this year's Circuit tournaments automatically. maroon will be helping with the maintenance of adding new rounds and tournaments to the sheet but please contact me if the sheet is missing information or acting oddly. The sheet is hot off the press so please bare with me if any issues occur.
