Tangrowth
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 248 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Knock Off
- Sleep Powder
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb

Tangrowth refuses to go down in BDSP OU! Tangrowth's frankly ridiculous physical bulk and access to the coveted Regenerator make it one of the best physical walls in the metagame. Tangrowth stands as one of the best switch-ins to strong Water-types like Crawdaunt and Feraligatr due to its typing, bulk, and lack of need for an item, and it is more than capable of checking a multitude of other physical attackers such as Azumarill and Breloom. Knock Off and Sleep Powder give Tangrowth excellent utility, as it is quite good at punishing the switches it forces by removing foes' items or putting them to sleep. Giga Drain lets Tangrowth pressure the Water-types that often carry Ice Beam, such as defensive Starmie, Gastrodon, and Slowbro. Sludge Bomb is used to hit Breloom, Clefable, and opposing Tangrowth hard. Pokemon that can deal with Fire-types like Slowbro, Gliscor, and Rotom-W are excellent teammates for their ability to switch into Infernape, Heatran, and Fire-type coverage from Garchomp. Pokemon that struggle with offensive Water-types like Blissey, Heatran, and Scizor majorly appreciate Tangrowth switching into Feraligatr and Crawdaunt and, in return, check the special attackers that force Tangrowth out like Latias and Alakazam.

Banned deucer.
on balance structures.
bulkier structures? its on regen cores or stall anyway

Tangrowth stands alone as the only truly safe switch-in to the immensely powerful Crawdaunt
well you kind of die if you get sludged in the face or banded crunch and Poliwrath exists

the rest is generally okay but still craw being one of its major selling point without describing what actually does (eg itemless 3hko from knock) is kind of hmmm

QC 1/1 when implement, lmk if you have questions

Giga Drain lets Tangrowth pressure the Water-types that often carry Ice Beam coverage (You can remove "Beam" or "coverage"; pick one) for it (They use Ice Beam for Tangrowth exclusively?), such as defensive Starmie, Gastrodon, and Slowbro. Sludge Bomb is used to hit Breloom, Clefable, and opposing Tangrowth hard. Teammates Pokemon like Slowbro, Gliscor, and Rotom-W (What do these Pokemon have in common? You might wanna be more specific earlier in the sentence) are excellent teammates for their ability to switch into Infernape, Heatran, and Fire-type coverage from Garchomp. Pokemon like Blissey, Heatran, and Scizor (Same idea here) majorly appreciate Tangrowth switching into Feraligatr and Crawdaunt and, in return, check the special attackers that force Tangrowth out like Latios and and Alakazam.
