Talonflame @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body / Gale Wings
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- U-turn
- Toxic

Despite being a mighty force in OU two generations ago, Talonflame now finds itself in the depths of PU. Thanks to its decent defensive typing, two great abilities, access to U-turn, and above-average Speed tier, Talonflame acts as one of the more significant and the fastest bulky pivot PU has to offer with Heavy-Duty Boots. Talonflame's ability to threaten and at times even switch in against common Fighting- and Grass-types such as Passimian and Virizion are second to none. However, be wary of Fighting-types that utilize Rock-type coverage. U-turn pivots out of Talonflame's checks such as Regirock and Gigalith. Toxic helps debilitate the aforementioned switch-ins and other bulky pivots such as opposing Talonflame and Alolan Persian. Fighting-type teammates such as Passimian and Virizion deal with Rock- and Steel-types like Regirock, Gigalith, and Silvally-Steel, while Talonflame in return reliably checks Fairy-types. On the other hand, Lanturn helps offset the threat posed by Electric-types such as Heliolisk and Togedemaru. Last but not least, Talonflame can opt to run Will-O-Wisp in lieu of Toxic to cripple common physical threats such as Silvally-Fairy.

Despite being a mighty force in OU two generations ago, Talonflame now finds itself in the depths of PU. Thanks to its decent defensive typing, access to U-turn, and above-average speed tier, (mention that it has two great abilities too) in conjunction with an amazing item in Heavy-Duty Boots, Talonflame acts as one of the more significant and the fastest bulky pivot PU has to offer. Talonflame's ability to threaten and at times, even switch-in against common Grass- and Fighting-types such as Roserade, Virizion, (probably switch this order, like i'd make viriz first. also stone edge / rock slide passimian are p common so maybe mention tht u should watch out for that) and Passimian are second to none. Roost provides much-needed longevity for Talonflame to act as a reliable bulky pivot. U-turn pivots out of Talonflame's checks such as Regirock and Gigalith. Toxic helps debilitate the aforementioned switch-ins and other bulky pivots such as opposing Talonflame and Alolan Persian. Talonflame appreciates teammates that can handle Talonflame's common checks in Rock-, Electric-, and Steel-types. Lanturn and Vaporeon (i'd mention more offensive mons tbh, like for example fighting-types pair well it and they also appreciate it checking fairies) deal with Regirock and Gigalith, while Sandaconda and Claydol (both of these mons are ass; u can mention lanturn here instead) help ameliorate Electric-type threats such as Heliolisk and Alolan Raichu. (raichu's banned) The aforesaid Ground-types and Pokemon such as Passimian and Scrafty assist in handling common Steel-types in the form of Silvally-Steel and Togedemaru. (u already kinda mention that earlier, maybe mention voltturn partners. u could also talk abt that when mentioning lanturn) Last but not least, Talonflame can opt to run Will-O-Wisp in-lieu of Toxic to cripple common Physical threats such as Sillvally-Fairy.

(char limit) Talonflame's ability to threaten and at times (RC) even switch in (RH) against common Fighting- and Grass-types such as Virizion, Passimian, and Roserade are second to none. However, be wary of Passimian sets that utilize Stone Edge or Rock Slide. (change this entirely to "Rock-type coverage" if it also applies to Virizion, would also help with char limit) U-turn pivots out of Talonflame's checks such as Regirock and Gigalith. Toxic helps debilitate the aforementioned switch-ins and other bulky pivots such as opposing Talonflame and Alolan Persian. Talonflame appreciates teammates that can handle its common checks in Rock-, Electric-, and Steel-types. (filler, char limit) Fighting-type teammates such as Passimian and Virizion deal with Rock- and Steel-types in the form of like Regirock, Gigalith, and Silvally-Steel, (AC) while Talonflame in return reliably checks Fairy-types.
