Hello! This thread serves as a place for good teams intended to help new players get acclimated to the metagame and different playstyles.

Posting Guidelines
  • Before posting teams here you should get permission from one of this thread's two hosts. Yourwelcomethanku (WALLY#4434) or C0nfiden1 0yster (C0nfiden1 0yster#6805) over the forum or through Discord.
  • Teams ideally are representative of the metagame (Tho, with how early on it is, this is less important)
  • Teams should be posted via Pokepast
  • Not a hard requirement, but if your team has tournament success it's far more likely to get sampled.
  • Having a description of the team is also not a hard requirement, to not discourage posting, but is appreciated.
Teams are updated as of November, click on the sprites for the teams.

:Whiscash::Crocalor: :Blissey: :Alomomola: :Revavroom: :Sableye: Whiscash & Crocalor stall by Yourwelcomethanku
Snow with Cetitan is pretty problematic for stall, especially with Healing Wish Hattrem available; that is unless you run Crocalor (Or Avalugg), which helps the matchup a lot. Crocalor is Heavy-Duty Boots as opposed to Eviolite in order to compliment the Spikes stacking nature of the team. There's no hazard removal for Crocalor. Knock Off Sableye and entry hazard setter Whiscash are a big way for this team to wear down the opposition whilst staying healthy with its sheer bulkiness. Alomomola is Tera Fairy, which is critical for Flamigo. Wish from Alomomola can keep the recovery move-lacking Revavroom and Whiscash healthy. Calm Mind helps Blissey check setup sweepers like Oricorio and Rotom, and Shadow Ball lets it hit Ghost-types and even sometimes sweep teams with Tera Ghost. Tera Ghost is important for Blissey to handle Toxtricity, as Shift Gear can Drain Punch Blissey and Tera Normal +1 Boomburst is just too strong.
:Toxtricity: :Tatsugiri: :Gardevoir: :Klefki: :Rotom-Mow: :Mudsdale: Toxtricity & Specs Tatsugiri Spikes Offense by ishtar
Hazard stacking in RU is fairly straightforward, particularly when considering the potency of breakers such as Toxtricity. The team should be used rather offensively in order to reliably deal with threats such as Rotom-Heat and Oricorios: Tatsugiri and Gardevoir particularly. Spin is very much so an afterthought option on the team, so only resort to it instead of clicking your very spammable STAB moves if extremely necessary. Fat MUs are more reliant on Gardevoir Trick as well as Toxtricity, but if these become particularly problematic Drain Punch could be considered on Toxt, but I don’t consider this to be the case in the current meta. You should have enough of a defensive backbone with Mudsdale and Klefki to withstand most unboosted threats, and Roar shall remain an invaluable asset in dealing with certain setup sweepers. Finally, figure out a plan with Toxtricity taking into consideration hazards, phasing, Rocky Helmet, pivoting, HW, etc. The amount of tools at your disposal should allow you to (hopefully) come out on top vs. every archetype. Hf!
:Abomasnow: :Cetitan: :Frosmoth: :Hattrem: :Krookodile: :Flamigo: Snow by Togkey
:Heracross: :Krookodile: :Slowbro: :Gardevoir: :Oricorio-pom-pom: :Revavroom: Trailblaze Heracross Bulky Offense by eifo
Fairly basic proactive bulky offense build. Hera and Krook are the main ways of making progress, greatly aided by future sight Bro. Bro packs body press and tera fairy for the Weavile match up. Tera poison lets Krook beat Mowtom, Hera, Bonnet, Flamigo, Sylveon, and Gardevoir (if locked into Moonblast). Hera is tera normal to power up facade, but you could also use tera dark with Throat Chop to break Palossand and ohko Mismagius. Garde provides the team with speed control, healing wish support for Hera/Krook, and counterplay versus set up mons such as Pom-Pom, CM Bro, and to some degree Sensu and Frosmoth. The team also as a Pom-Pom itself, but its role is to function as a pivot and form of hazard control here, rather than sweeper. It is tera fire to deal with Cetitan, which unfortunately ohkos Slowbro with tera ground earthquake after a belly drum, hence that matchup needs to be played carefully. Vroom rounds out the team by providing a general defensive pivot, toxic spikes absorber, and additional insurance versus Sensu, Frosmoth, and Gardevoir. It was originally tspikes itself, but being walled by Klefki and opposing Vroom was not fun. The speed lets it outspeed max speed Frosmoth, such that you may haze and then outspeed it. Tera water lets it tank moves from Salazzle and Tatsugiri when in a pinch, while also shedding its ground weakness, but you generally do not want to tera it, much like with Pom-Pom.
:Krookodile: :Slowbro: :Gardevoir: :Altaria: :Copperajah: :Indeedee: by Yourwelcomethanku
The idea of this when making it was Bulk Up Krookodile + Slowbro, both are powerful setup sweepers that can be difficult to handle. These Pokemon also simply have good practical applications thanks to their good defensive typing, Slowbro can check stuff like Flamigo and Copperajah, and having the ability to block Volt Switch with Krookodile at all is valuable. Intimidate could also be useful for thwarting something like Shift Gear Revavroom. Gardevoir gives the team a very powerful wallbreaker and a Cetitan check. With Tera Fire, it can resist Ice Shard and revenge kill Cetitan. Altaria gives the team entry hazard removal, which is important given the pace of the team and numerous susceptible Pokemon, and a Brute Bonnet check. Indeedee provides a Choice Scarf user that resists Ghost, outpaces most opposing Choice Scarf users, and outpaces +1 Oricorio forms. Psyshock is chosen because it hits Mismagius a lot harder.
:Zoroark: :Mudsdale: :Slowbro: :Cryogonal: :Blissey: :Ditto: Semi-Stall with Zoroark and Ditto by Yourwelcomethanku
This team was made to try and deal with the highly offensive teams that were being spammed on ladder during RULT. It has Ditto with Tera Steel to try and check Hariyama, Blissey helps against Toxtricity and is the Stealth Rock user rather than Mudsdale, which lets Mudsdale run both Roar and Protect. Cryogonal combines phazer with Haze and entry hazard removal via Rapid Spin, helps keep Rocks off and checks Oricorio. Tera Steel can help it deal with like Gardevoir or Calm Mind Psyshock Slowbro. Zoroark is a Pokemon that I think is pretty good in this format, not many Knock Off users. Essentially, Zoroark is intended to be a big way for the team to make progress, by removing Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers and dealing damage. Whether or not Zoroark can do this may be hit or miss, if they have a Paldean Tauros. it might take a while. After Knock Off and U-turn there's good freedom in what moves to use. Low Kick and Sucker Punch aren't that important on this team. Consider options like Sludge Bomb for Fairy-types, Dark Pulse for Slowbro(Slowbro walls unless you Tera Dark), Psychic for Paldean Tauros and so on. Calm Mind Slowbro gives the team a great win condition. Mudsdale is the team's Ground-type, which is important for Bellibolt. Heavy Slam means Gardevoir is OHKOd and you hit Flamigo hard too.
:Passimian: :Salazzle: :Slowbro::Klefki: :Mudsdale: :Blissey:Spikes Balance by Yourwelcomethanku
Mudsdale, Slowbro, and Blissey is a great defensive core that can cover a lot of the metagame. Toxtricity, Flamigo, Tatsugiri and many more threats can be checked by them. Blissey is the Stealth Rock user, which frees Mudsdale to run both Roar and Protect. Heavy Slam prevents Mudsdale from being setup fodder to Mismagius and it hits Flying-types like Flamigo hard. Calm Mind Slowbro gives the team a very good setup sweeper win condition. Klefki is a good Weavile answer, Gardevoir answer, and provides Spikes. Salazzle and Choice Scarf Passimian both have Knock Off, which can help accentuate Spikes. They're also quite fast, complementing the slow bulky rest of the team. Salazzle is great at crippling Pokemon with its Toxic, which can also let it check Primeape. Passimian is Tera Steel here so that it can resist Bullet Punch and revenge kill Belly Drum Hariyama.

Please run Jolly on your Cetitan folks, you don't even need Adamant to OHKO Slowbro!
Was looking at some calcs, and this is true enough, although I never really needed the Speed from Jolly in any of my games. Y'all can indeed use Jolly if you want to

Yeah, I think Jolly is a good idea, so I changed it. This way Cetitan will be able to outpace a +1 Tauros, potentially useful for revenge killing a Trailblaze boosted Tauros and not being revenge killed by Choice Scarf sets.

A Balanced Team based on Defensive Brute Bonnet, a Set that i originally create for the "New Best Thing", and I think this Set work pretty good.
Brute Bonnet is the main SpDef Wall of the team, which can Check a lot of mons of the Tier, like Mismagius, Tatsugiri, and Salazzle and Oricorio after Terastilize. Tera Poison Bonnet gives it a Fairy and Fighting resist, while also help check Salazzle and Oricorio. 44 Spe EVs allows it to outspeed 0 Spe EV Sylveon.
Guts Heracross is the main offensive pokemon of the team, which take advantage of Bonnet's Spore, to switch on a sleepy pokemon and Spam its powerful stabs. It's our WallBreaker and also our Sweeper. Classic Set for this one, nothing to explain.
My original Defensive Core was Bonnet and Altaria, which have a Fairy and Ice Weakness, and i didn't wanted to use my tera too early in the game, so i decided to use copperajah, which also bring Stealth Rock. Tera Flying gives it a Ground immunity and Fighting Resist. 120 Atk EVs allows it to OHKO Cetitan with Sheer Force-Boosted Iron Head. Play Rough was a good attack with Sheer Force so i chose it.
Heracross is walled by one thing : Altaria. To help Heracross against Altaria, i chose a Scarf Gardevoir, who also bring Speed Control, and can Trick a Defensive mon or completely heal a team member with Healing Wish. Classic Set to.
Altaria is our main Physically Defensive Wall, which wall nearly every Physical pokemon of the Tier. 56 Spe EVs allow Altaria to outspeed 252 Spe Adamant Bonnet.
Grafaiai adds a pivot, really appreciated by our offensive pokemon and toxik, while also countering setup sweeper with priority Encore + Toxic. 216 Spe EVs + Jolly Nature allow it to outspeed max speed mismagius and cryogonal. Tera is pretty useless on Grafaiai, but i chose the Dark tera to be Psychic-immune and Dark-resist if Scarf Krook or Garde are Sweeping us.

Bulky Offense team revolving around breaking checks to Fire Tauros and letting it do its thing.

Tauros' set is built around survivability. Tera Steel allows Tauros to set up on Sylveon lacking Mystical Fire as well as lets it get a turn of setup on many other mons. 116 speed is to outrun max speed Tatsugiri. Pretty simple concept: Click Sub and Bulk Up, get HP back with Cud Chew, go to town. Raging Bull and Body Press is largely unresisted by much of the metagame not named Altaria. Body Press is run over CC for longevity's sake, allowing Tauros to continue to set up and attack without sacrificing its great physical bulk.
Goodra is a special soaker and all-around damage spreader. Sludge Bomb can be replaced with Acid Spray at the player's leisure. Mud Shot and the Special Attack EVs is to beat Iron Thorns pre-Tera. Fairy is the best all-around defensive Tera for Goodra.
Tsareena is here to act as a defensive spinner and pivot. 200 speed and Jolly is to outrun Frosmoth and pivot out on it, as well as anything slower. This can be adjusted to outrun Samurott as needs dictate.
Palossand is the physical soaker, running enough speed to outpace Bellibolt and hit it with Earth Power. Palossand is also the rocks setter on the team, which makes breaking with Tauros easier. Tera Water lets Palossand reliably take on Tatsugiri, as well as the legion of ice-type attackers in the tier, though its main typing is preferred to spinblock.
Sylveon is the cleric, passing Wishes to Tauros and Goodra to allow them to continue breaking and walling while also serving as a potential wincon once the opponent's physical attackers are dealt with. Calm Mind lets Sylveon remain on offense and defense, while Wish keeps it and various other teammates healthy. Tera Ground Tera Blast lets Sylveon surprise Revavroom, Dragalge, and Salazzle to net key KOs that can make Tauros's job easier or open up the path to a win.
Zoroark is so commonly run special, I find, so why not go with a physical band set? Zoroark likes to disguise as Tsareena, allowing it ample opportunities to U-Turn and keep the deception going, or Sylveon to give it opportunities to scare off fighting types. Knock Off is its most spammable moves, OHKOing most Bronzong and generally being an easy source of damage and battle progress. Tera Poison allows Zoroark to absorb Tspikes if Tsareena is unavailable and additionally lets Zoroark stop a runaway Sylveon, as well as various other grass types.

The team has no fairy resist, but Goodra takes 30% from an uninvested Sylveon Hyper Voice, and Zoroark has ways of dealing with the ribbon cat as well. I'm considering what the team will do if/when it encounters a snow team, but this has put in work for me thus far.

https://pokepast.es/382904c87b390e9d

Pretty cool team based on band tauros, one of the mon that dropped with the shift, a very strong wallbreaker, that have only three real check : altaria, palossand and mudsdale.
Iron thorns was added for spikes, and pivot.
Tsareena form a realy good defensive core with iron thorns : tsar checks physical threats, ground, water and grass types and iron thorns checks special threats, fire, poison, ice and flying mons. They also form a really good hazard control and pivot core.
Bronzong helps the team vs fairy-types , ice-types and cetitan.
Sylveon is our check to quiver dance mon and counter to tauros's check. It also help to check fighting mons.
Weavile form a good offensive core with tauros, as it can kill mudsdale, altaria and palossand, or force them to tera, so they can't check tauros anymore.

68 Def on thorns : avoid the 2HKO of banded weavile icicle crash.
240 HP + 148+ Def on tsar : avoid the 2HKO of banded krook crunch. 120 Spe : Outspeed max speed adamant bonnet.

Hi ! It's me again to submit the V2 of the team i previously posted, the "Defensive Brute Bonnet Balance", with the changes that Youwelcomethanku told me. Sadly, the bonnet dropped...

The team was based on forb heracross, a very threatening wallbreaker, that have 1 (or 2) real checks.
I added a scarf garde to hit physically defensive walls, and add speed control and a cleaner.
Palossand was chosen as a ground type, fighting check and also our physically defensive wall, which can check nearly every pokemon in the tier.
Cop was added to check fairy, dragon and ice types that can threaten palo.
Tsar is our hazard control, ground resist and pivot, that can attract steel type, then pivote with uturn to bring heracross.
As my team was "complete" with this 5, i decided to add graf, which adds fast pivot, and deal with setup sweeper with priority encore, 2 thing thare are rly appreciated by the rest of the team. It also attracts dark types for heracross.

Earlier today (July 9) i used this team make it to the semifinals of an NU Tournament

Hi ! Another Team so submit to the sample team, but more modern this time.
https://pokepast.es/afac127ad8de1499

:typhlosion: Like Gardevoir moved to UU, i wanted to try Typhlosion.
I chosed a scarf set to be the fastest pokemon in the tier. The set is basic, Eruption, Flamethrower if ur weaken, Eq for Coal and Focus Blast for rock-types. Tera fire boost eruption damage.

:toxicroak: One of the biggest typh counter is vaporeon, so i decided to add a toxicrokk to counter it. Toxicroak is rly one of the best mons atm. It can counter rain, vap, sweep with sd, ... Swords Dance for setup, CC and gunk shot are its stab, and sucker punch adds a priority. Tera Dark to boost sucker punch and give a psychic immunity.

:krookodile: For the 3rd member, i choose krook for my volt-immunity, stealth rock and altaria counter with taunt. The set is p basic, Rocks, double stab and taunt for altaria. Tera poison gives it a fantastic defensive type. I prefered a full hp spread to face other physical attackers more easily

:altaria: Like rocks make typh unusable, a hazard remover was mandatory. I don't like spinner with typh because they are easily spin block by a ghost type, so i choose altaria to defog. It's also our main physically defensive wall, but pay attention to heracross ! Classic set too, but this time i choose hurricane for the flying stab. Roost for heal, will-o-wisp for physical attackers and defog. Tera fairy for dragon-types, but still good vs fighting and dark types. 56 Speed to outspeed full speed non-jolly brute bonnet.

:goodra: With this 4, my team was rly weak to specially offensive pokemons. So, i decided to use goodra, as a tank and wallbreaker, that can also deal with altaria or other typh / Croak counters. Classic 4 attacks, stab draco meteor, sludge bomb for fairy-types, flamethrower for steel-types (fire blast good too) and hydro pump for naclstack or palossand (hydro pump was chosen cuz it can 2hko naclstack). Tera Poison to have stab sludge and good defensive typing. Being immune to poison is also rly cool. 60 Speed to outspeed alt at 210 speed

:revavroom: My team was very weak to fairy and dragon types, so i decided to add a sp def revavroom, that can also pivot to bring typhlosion with parting shot. Classic defensive spread. Spin out for stab, haze for setup like sylveon, toxic defensive pokemon and parting shot for the pivot

Hope you'll like it !

Hf!

I used this team to reach peak #17, and made an RMT that became popular on the ru ladder, if you want more details about the team here is the rmt link: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/yanmega-hyper-offensive.3729691/

Hey, we're interested in getting preliminary sample teams for the new meta. They don't have to be the most proven things, so if you send a team that looks good, it likely gets in
Hello, I would like to make my team a sample team, it is a volt turn with noivern and magnezone, this team made me reach the top 39 , in case you want more information, I am doing an RMT of this same team, and I would like to turn it into a sample team.

In case liligant is banned from ru, I made this team too, I want to make it a sample team, it's also a team with mimikyu red card, however it's a BO with magnezone specs, he also did well on the ladder as top #31 and made me win some ladder tours.
