Salazzle @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Corrosion
EVs: 252 SpA/4 SpD/252 Spe
Timid Nature
Tera-Type: Fire
- Overheat
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Bomb
- Endeavor

Sure, it can't take a hit all that well, but it's not meant to take hits. It's meant to dish them out. Scarf lets Salazzle outspeed Valiant even if the Booster Energy proc'ed beforehand (just is all it takes), and Sludge Bomb outright slays it.

252 SpA Salazzle Sludge Bomb vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Iron Valiant: 398-470 (137.7 - 162.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

You also have two Fire STABs; Overheat for more power right from the start, and Flamethrower for consistency. Overheat has the added bonus of also killing Valiant from full, UNLESS you get the absolute lowest roll you possibly can.

252 SpA Salazzle Overheat vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Iron Valiant: 288-339 (99.6 - 117.3%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

Finally, there's Endeavor, which I figured would suit it nicely since it gives you the affordability to switch in and out of the fray a bit more recklessly. Once Salazzle gets to the point where you can't switch it in any more, you can click Endeavor to get a wall such as Garganacl (very) low, allowing another mon you have in the back to finish it off before it can recover.

Scarf Glimmora (Check)

Glimmora @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Toxic Debris
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Power Gem/Mortal Spin
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Energy Ball/Dazzling gleam/Memento

Glimmora has a great Special attack of 130 and can take one hit from Iron Valent, While Revenge killing it back with sludge wave.
It has good Coverage options in Power Gem, Energy Ball (Great tusk) , Earth Power (Gholdengo) , Dazzling gleam( Garchomp, Dragapult)
You can use Mortal Spin for hazard control , and Toxic debris can set up T-spikes
Memento can also be used for helping setup sweepers
Calcs
252 SpA Iron Valiant Psyshock vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Glimmora: 180-212 (58.6 - 69%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
4 Atk Iron Valiant Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Glimmora: 177-208 (57.6 - 67.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO ( also takes Close Combat from Mixed varient)
252 SpA Glimmora Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Iron Valiant: 468-552 (161.9 - 191%) -- guaranteed OHKO

ASSAULT VEST SCIZOR TECH - CHECK
Scizor @ Assault Vest
Ability: Technician
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 116 Atk / 144 SpD
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Thief
- Close Combat

Scizor naturally counters Iron Valiant with its excellent typing and moveset. However, many Scizors run banded Scizor, and while it is true that a bullet punch and comfortably OHKO Iron Valiant, it will be locked in and an opponent can send out something like a Volcarona or Tusk to revenge kill it or to force it to switch. A Choice-Specs boosted Moonblast from Iron Valiant will not kill a banded Scizor, but will do a hefty 38-45% (252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Scizor: 132-156 (38.8 - 45.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO). This will greatly decrease Scizor's longevity and it will get to a point where you can't use the banded scizor to tank Iron Valiant hits anymore.

Assault Vest Scizor is much tankier than banded and will be able to do good damage to common switch ins.
Calculations VS Iron Valiant:
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 144 SpD Assault Vest Scizor: 75-88 (21.8 - 25.6%) -- 1.3% chance to 4HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Fairy Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 248 HP / 144 SpD Assault Vest Scizor: 100-118 (29.1 - 34.4%) -- 4.2% chance to 3HKO
116+ Atk Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Tera Fairy Iron Valiant: 212-252 (73.3 - 87.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Moonblast will rarely 4HKO AV Scizor unless it is Tera, and on the rare occasion that the Iron Valiant is running Aura Sphere, Scizor can still tank 3 and go from there.

Choice band Scizor will be 2HKOd by Aura Sphere, thus AV is superior in that sense
252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Valiant Aura Sphere vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Scizor: 223-264 (65.5 - 77.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Possible

Common Switch-ins to banded Scizors, including Kingambit and Gholdengo, will be able to set up on a choice locked bullet punch, however, AV has the chance to 2HKO or even OHKO depending on build, making AV Scizor more versatile and a much greater counter to its Choice Band Build.

Ability: Vessel of Ruin
Tera Type: whatever
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Atk / 184 SpD
Adamant Nature

As a proud cb Ting-lu enjoyer I do love getting the chance to show how crazy it is. Evs are set up so you can only get 3hit by moonblast max.

252 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 184 SpD Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 216-254 (42 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Not only that, band lets it do some crazy stuff, like ohkoing Iron Valiant with one heavy slam.

72+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Valiant: 360-424 (124.5 - 146.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Also, if you invest more in attack and sacrifice spd you can ohko with eq as well.

252+ Atk Choice Band Ting-Lu Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Iron Valiant: 262-309 (90.6 - 106.9%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

Its just a crazy mon.

Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 72 Atk / 184 SpA / 252 Spe

Gren outspeeds even after booster energy and OHKOs with Gunk shot and Tera Hydro Pump.
It wont switch in to moonblast or tbolt but it can come in on psyshock or shadow ball.

72 Atk Protean Greninja Gunk Shot vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Iron Valiant: 290-344 (100.3 - 119%) -- guaranteed OHKO
184 SpA Tera Water Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Iron Valiant: 292-344 (101 - 119%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Gunk shot also hits Tera fairy mons like Skeledirge and Garg as well as Hat and Azu for good damage.

252 SpA Choice Specs Iron Valiant Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tinkaton: 133-157 (42.7 - 50.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Our new victim for Week 9 will be… Walking Wake!

Walking Wake @ Choice Specs
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 244 SpA / 12 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

- Draco Meteor

OU recently received an brand-new Paradox form based off basilisk lizards, playing into Suicune’s canon ability to walk on water. This form’s debut has seen a recent upsurge in weather-based offense, particularly for Sun teams. Equipped with its signature move, Hydro Steam (a 120bp move under both Sun and Rain), Draco Meteor, fire coverage, and a potent defensive typing, Walking Wake’s domination of OU has made it the current focus for being suspected.

How will YOU slay this reptilian foe? Submissions end Thursday, March 9th at 23:59 GMT-3!

PS: Remember to clarify if you are submitting a set as a check or a true counter!

Adamant Nature
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- First Impression
- U-turn
- Close Combat
- Earthquake

Offensive check, if sun is up First Impression is guaranteed to OHKO so it's forced to run. Tera Water means Wake can't threaten to OHKO with anything but Draco but if you're coming in to revenge nothing can OHKO and you're free to go for CC, which is the better move if sun isn't up, but will also likely catch something trying to switch in to the expected First Impression if in the sun.

252 SpA Choice Specs Protosynthesis Tera Water Walking Wake Hydro Steam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Water Slither Wing in Sun: 238-280 (76.5 - 90%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Iron Valiant @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 224 SpA / 32 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Calm Mind
- Aura Sphere
- Thunderbolt

outspeeds naturally, and if booster energy isn't yet used, it can outspeed Wake in the sun. it then likely just takes an OHKO, however, it has just enough spdef to be guaranteed to live a tera water hydro steam at +1, so if the opponent's team is weakened enough, you can just calm mind once then destroy them.

224 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 12 SpD Walking Wake: 332-392 (97.9 - 115.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
224 SpA Tera Fairy Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 12 SpD Walking Wake: 444-524 (130.9 - 154.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Slowking is one of the relatively few Pokemon to withstand anything this Choice Specs Walking Wake does, both in and out of Sun. Check these damage calcs out; Walking Wake gets to be KOed by Surf chip and Future Sight:

244 SpA Choice Specs Tera Water Walking Wake Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Slowking: 208-246 (52.7 - 62.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
-1 244 SpA Choice Specs Tera Water Walking Wake Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Slowking: 138-163 (35 - 41.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
244 SpA Choice Specs Tera Water Walking Wake Draco Meteor over 2 turns vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Slowking: 313-370 (79.4 - 93.9%) -- not a KO
244 SpA Choice Specs Tera Water Walking Wake Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Slowking: 118-139 (29.9 - 35.2%) -- 21.6% chance to 3HKO
244 SpA Choice Specs Tera Water Walking Wake Hydro Steam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Slowking in Sun: 128-151 (32.4 - 38.3%) -- 97.8% chance to 3HKO
0 SpA Slowking Future Sight vs. 0 HP / 12 SpD Tera Water Walking Wake: 150-177 (44.2 - 52.2%) -- 15.6% chance to 2HKO
0 SpA Slowking Surf vs. 0 HP / 12 SpD Walking Wake in Sun: 13-16 (3.8 - 4.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Shame that Slowking is not going to like the 252 SpA EVs version of this Specs Walking Wake.
