Project SV OU - Lure That Threat Week 39 - Gliscor - Voting!

because I had absolutely no idea, i would just copy the good old skeledirge set with minimal modifications.

:Skeledirge:

Skeledirge @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Unaware
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Torch Song
- Shadow Ball
- Tera Blast
- Slack Off

Simple. Tera against zoroark and you will 100% survive a hit and destroy the zoroark with tera blast.
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark-Hisui Hyper Voice vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Tera Dark Skeledirge: 186-219 (45.2 - 53.2%) -- 32% chance to 2HKO
8 SpA Tera Dark Skeledirge Tera Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zoroark-Hisui: 284-336 (113.1 - 133.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Tera dark amoon

:Sv/Amoonguss:

The opponent thinks that this thing can't touch zoro, right? It's obviously running physically defensive after revealing helmet, and clear smog can touch it, but this is where tera dark and foul play come in...

252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark-Hisui Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 84 SpD Amoonguss: 312-368 (72.2 - 85.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark-Hisui Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 84 SpD Amoonguss: 207-244 (47.9 - 56.4%) -- 86.7% chance to 2HKO

This is enough to make the opponent think they've got you, especially if one of their teammates have fallen asleep

0 SpA Amoonguss Clear Smog vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zoroark-Hisui: 36-42 (14.3 - 16.7%) -- possible 6HKO

0- Atk Tera Dark Amoonguss Foul Play vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Zoroark-Hisui: 242-288 (96.4 - 114.7%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

Even just a u turn's chip of damage and it's a guaranteed OHKO, pretty high chance otherwise.

This also is a decent lure for psyshock valiant too, and does other amoon things

Amoonguss @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Spore
- Toxic Spikes
- Clear Smog

T- spikes over knot, since it does a surprising chunk ( over half most of the time)

So basically, if you reveal helmet to make them think it's Phys defensive, then make something else fall asleep, and then boom! You ( hopefully) OHKO them and leave them feeling like an idiot.

Sorry for the borderline reply, but I hope I made it in time

Reserving :Rotom-wash: let's hope this guy works

How are you doing people it's 1LDK here with another set that nobody will vote for, today's edition we have Scarf Tera fairy tera blast

:sv/Rotom-Wash:
Rotom-Wash @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Trick
- Tera Blast

The plan is simple, Rotom is normally a bulky Pokémon that volt switches or throws a hydro if a tusk is in front of him, it can also throw a wisp or a thunder wave, so Hydreigon never gets pressured by it, so this means rotom is free right?

WRONG
0 SpA Tera Fairy Rotom-Wash Tera Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 396-468 (121.8 - 144%) -- guaranteed OHKO

And if you're too scared of tera steel ruining the surprise or if you predict wrong, you can just trick instead, so now he is forced to 1 move, much easier to handle

Gholdengo @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Make It Rain
- Shadow Ball
- Nasty Plot
- Recover

Hydreigon has nothing to fear switching into Gholdengo, OR does it? Of course, it's scared of focus blast, but 70% miss and timid plus no boosts means that the odds are heavily stacked in Hydreigon's favour. Hydreigon also doesn't have much to fear if Gholdengo reveals it's the nasty plot set, then Hydreigon really doesn't have much to fear other than 60-70% damage from Gholdengo. It's not a free switch, but it might as well be because Gholdengo will instantly switch out to a bulkier partner or die* to dark pulse. Hydreigon either get's a free nasty plot or it takes out the best anti-hazard removal mon. This set is a little different than average nasty plot Gholdengo because instead of covert cloak, this has colbur berry. Colbur berry has many uses such as helping tank knock offs better and in this case, stifling a powerful dark type attacker. On the switch-in, nasty plot. Hydreigon thinks it can stay in a kill Gholdengo with a dark pulse, but colbur berry makes it do about 40-50%, then retaliate with a powerful make it rain to OHKO Hydreigon.

252 SpA Gholdengo Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 290-342 (89.2 - 105.2%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 217-256 (66.7 - 78.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 SpA Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 433-511 (133.2 - 157.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gholdengo: 276-326 (87.6 - 103.4%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Colbur Berry Gholdengo: 138-163 (43.8 - 51.7%) -- 9.8% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Hydreigon Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gholdengo: 206-244 (65.3 - 77.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Gholdengo can actually live a dark pulse, however, the lack of leftovers recovery means chip from pivoting moves such as u-turn and volt switch or hazards can bring Gholdengo in range of an unboosted dark pulse.

Iron Thorns @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 108 HP / 252 Atk / 148 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Rock Blast
- Wild Charge
- Brick Break

Generally I write a lot, but this is so simple that I've barely anything to say. A traditional Iron Thorns doesn't run fighting coverage. They can have dual-STAB and then maybe Ice Punch. Hydreigon can beat that set 1v1.

252 Atk Quark Drive Iron Thorns Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon: 238-282 (73.2 - 86.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 Atk Quark Drive Iron Thorns Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Steel Hydreigon: 89-105 (27.3 - 32.3%) -- 56.9% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 Atk Quark Drive Iron Thorns Rock Blast (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon: 270-318 (83 - 97.8%) -- approx. 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Hydreigon Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Iron Thorns: 440-520 (129 - 152.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Hydreigon outspeeds and OHKOs. If Iron Thorns sets up a Dragon Dance against it, Tera Steel means you survive the only attack that OHKOs. This doesn't apply to Brick Break, a rare move on Iron Thorns that hits Hydreigon super-effectively regardless of its Tera Type.
+1 252+ Atk Quark Drive Iron Thorns Brick Break vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon: 390-460 (120 - 141.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Tera Fighting is there for security, in case you can't get a Dragon Dance up as the Hydreigon swaps in.
252+ Atk Quark Drive Tera Fighting Iron Thorns Brick Break vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Hydreigon: 390-462 (120 - 142.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Hydreigon Earth Power vs. 108 HP / 4 SpD Tera Fighting Iron Thorns: 110-130 (29.8 - 35.3%) -- 22.9% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 108 HP / 4 SpD Tera Fighting Iron Thorns: 73-87 (19.8 - 23.6%) -- possible 5HKO

The speed investment outspeeds Hydreigon, allowing for more bulk. Investing 160 speed EVs instead can outspeed non-scarf base 100s, so that contribution might be worth it.

TLDR: Brick Break OHKOs at +1. Tera Fighting means you easily tank hits

Focus Blast/Taunt Zoroark-Hisui.

:sv/Zoroark-Hisui:
Zoroark-Hisui @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Illusion
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot / Flamethrower
- Taunt

The set:
Normally I don't love trying to position with the new Zoroark, especially given how lethal sub Hydreigon can be if it gets a plot off, but this case might be a bit of an exception. Hydreigon resists all of the standard moves that Zoroark runs, and if it's behind a sub, it doesn't care about trick either. Disguising as something that Hydreigon can effectively set up on can make this even more effective, but the rest of this post will assume that your disguise was already (somehow) broken, or that your opponent is simply incredible at deduction.

The lure:
Zoroark-Hisui takes 300% minimum from a dark pulse at +2, and about 150% minimum unboosted. If Hydreigon is behind a sub, it's almost always going to want to plot up or attack; it will never, ever switch out against Zoroark. If it's not behind a sub, it still resists all of the coverage typically carried by the specs set and blows you out of the water. If you did somehow retain your illusion and are disguised as a mon slower than Hydreigon, then this lure works even better; but again, its not necessary.
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark-Hisui Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 103-122 (31.6 - 37.5%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark-Hisui Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 78-92 (24 - 28.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Zoroark-Hisui Grass Knot (100 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 86-102 (26.4 - 31.3%) -- 14.4% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zoroark-Hisui: 384-452 (152.9 - 180%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zoroark-Hisui: 764-900 (304.3 - 358.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

The play:
No matter what, Hydreigon can't kill you with Dark Pulse if you Tera Fighting, even at +2. You also always outspeed it; if it isn't behind a sub, it just dies. If it is, you always live, break the sub, and then outspeed and can kill (or go for a midground on a switch) next turn. If you think it will plot OR sub, you outspeed and taunt, and then the above scenario plays out anyway.
  • 252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui: 96-113 (38.2 - 45%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
  • 252 SpA Hydreigon Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui: 144-170 (57.3 - 67.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • +2 252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui: 191-225 (76 - 89.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • 252 SpA Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 278-328 (85.5 - 100.9%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO (Guaranteed OHKO after substitute)
  • 252 SpA Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Steel Hydreigon: 278-328 (85.5 - 100.9%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO (Guaranteed OHKO after substitute)
  • 252 SpA Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Hydreigon: 416-492 (128 - 151.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 SpA Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Steel Hydreigon: 416-492 (128 - 151.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Viability outside of matchup:
As far as the rest of the set goes, Grass Knot is kept for Great Tusk / Dondozo, as well as for Garg and Ting-Lu (which take the same amount from Grass Knot as Focus Blast, but you don't have to worry about accuracy). Flamethrower can be slotted over it to opt for coverage on Amoongus and Meowscarada, but it's less effective in tandem with Focus Blast than Grass Knot. Trick could also theoretically be run on this set (if you catch Hydreigon trying to plot raw or sub in front of you, you immediately cripple it), but that relies on your opponent making a misplay more than the taunt set does, since trick obviously fails behind a sub.
  • 252 SpA Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 112 HP / 0 SpD Kingambit: 584-688 (158.2 - 186.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 SpA Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Baxcalibur: 432-510 (116.4 - 137.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 SpA Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Corviknight: 217-256 (54.3 - 64.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
  • 252 SpA Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Meowscarada: 380-448 (129.6 - 152.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 SpA Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Orthworm: 410-484 (119.1 - 140.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • 252 SpA Tera Fighting Zoroark-Hisui Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tera Steel Roaring Moon: 378-446 (107.6 - 127%) -- guaranteed OHKO

TL;DR: This applies whether you are disguised as a slower mon weak to Hydreigon, or as Zoroark-Hisui itself. Hydreigon walls you and will either set up or attack, never switch. If it stays in without subbing, you outspeed and destroy it. If you think they will sub or plot as you switch out, Taunt stops them. If they are already behind a sub when you come in, you break their sub, take <50%, and then outspeed and kill or chip something on the next turn (see above meta calcs).

I think u might have done the calc with rotom, not rotom-wash.
252 SpA Hydreigon Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Rotom-Wash: 120-142 (39.4 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

I just realized that I used the wrong rotom form, i was cacl with :rotom: and not :rotom-wash:
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
