Status Effects

This is a guide about all the status effects ( except paralyzation since a guide was done for that).

POISON
Poison is a status affliction in which a pokemon loses 1/8 of their health at the end of each turn. Poison pokemon and pokemon with immunity cannot be poisoned. Steel pokemon can be poison by twineedle. The most common poison move is toxic which starts at 1/16 and does more damage each turn.

The moves that cause poison are -
BP/PP/ACC
Poison Fang- 50/15/100 30%
Poison Gas- --/40/55 Always
Poison Sting- 15/35/100 30%
Poison Tail- 50/25/100 10%
Poisonpowder --/35/75 always
Sludge 65/20/100 30%
Sludge Bomb- 90/10/100 30%
Smog- 20/20/70 40%
Toxic- --/10/85 Always
Twineedle- 50/20/100 20%

Note that twineedle is a bug type and poison fang's poison is the same as toxic.

Pokemon w/Immunity- Zangoose, Snorlax
The abillity poison point has a 30% of poisoning the oppoonent when it uses a contact move. Pokemon with this trait are nidoking/queen, roselia, qwilfish, and seadra.

Burn
When a pokemon is burned, they lose hp just like poison. Their attack is also cut in half. Fire pokemon and pokemon with the trait of water veil cannot be burned. Will-o-Wisp is the most common way of causing a burn.

Moves that cause burn-
Blaze Kick- 85/10/90 10%
Ember- 40/25/100 10%
Fire Blast- 120/5/85 10%
Fire Punch- 75/15/100 10%
Flamewheel- 60/25/100 10%
Flamethrower- 95/15/100 10%
Heat Wave- 90/10/90 10%
Sacred Fire- 100/5/95 50%
Will-o-Wisp- --/15/75 Always
All burning moves are fire moves.
Pokemon with water veil- Wailord, walrein

The ability Flame Body has a 30% burn the opponent when it uses a contact move.
Pokemon with this trait are magmar and magcargo.
Confuse
Confusing is an annoying sub-status condition that lasts for a few turns. When confused, your pokemon has a 50% of hurting its self. Pokemon with the trait of Own Tempo cannot be confused. Confuse ray is the most common.

Confusion- 50/25/100 10% Psy
Psybeam- 65/20/100 10% Psy
Confuse Ray- --/10/100 Gho
Teeter Dance- --/40/100 Norm
Supersonic- --/20/55 Norm
Dizzy Punch- 70/10/100 20%
Sweet Kiss- --/10/75 Norm
Note that teeter dance affects all the pokemon in a double battle.
Pokemon with the own tempo trait are slowbro/king, lickitung, smeargle, grumpig, and spinda. The effects of confusion are cancelled out when a confused pokemon switched.

Attract
Attract is an annoying move that infatuates a pokemon. Attract can only affect a pokemon of the opposite gender. When a pokemon is attracted, it has a 50% of not attacking. Attract is cancelled as the attracted pokemon switches out. Attract can go through subs. Pokemon with the trait of oblivious cannot be attratced.

The move that causes attraction are
Attract- --/15/100 Norm

Pokemon with the trait of oblivious are lickitung, slowbro/king, jynx, wailord, whiscash, piloswine, and illumise.

A pokemon that attacks a pokemon that has the ability cute charm with a contact move has a 30% chance of being infatuated. Cute charm only works on the opposite gender. Pokemon with the ability of cute charm are clefable, wigglytuff, and delcatty.

Freeze
When your pokemon is frozen, your pokemonwill be inable to attack until it is thawed out. Frozen pokemon will be thawed out faster in the presence of Sunny Day. Ice pokemon and pokemon with the trait of Magma Armor cannot be frozen.

Moves that cause freeze are-

Powder snow- 40/25/100 10%
Blizzard- 120/5/70 10%
Ice beam- 95/10/100 10%
Ice Punch- 75/15/100 10%

Pokemon with the ability of magma armor are Camerupt and magcargo.



I'll finish this later. What do you think of this so far? Please don't tell me this has been done before. Should I include pokemon that utilize these statuses in today's metagame?
