Starmie @ Life Orb / Waterium Z
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock / Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin / Thunderbolt

Starmie is the star of the show when it comes to offensive spinners in UU, and it is a pretty solid offensive Water-type as well. Its access to the ever-coveted BoltBeam gives it almost perfect coverage when combined with its STAB attacks, and thanks to its ability Analytic, Starmie can deal hugely increased damage on the switch, which makes safe switch-ins to it nearly impossible to find. In particular, Thunderbolt lets Starmie take care of Empoleon and Tentacruel, making it excellent against other Water-type hazard controllers. A Life Orb boosts the power of all of Starmie's attacks, but Waterium Z can be used instead in order to give Starmie a strong Hydro Vortex that can help Starmie break past threats like Scizor and weakened Alolan Muk. Starmie fits best on offensive teams with Pokemon that are weak to Stealth Rock such as Mega Aerodactyl and Chandelure, as it can provide entry hazard removal without giving up offensive pressure. Starmie also fits very well with Klefki, as Spikes support drastically increases Starmie's ability to pick up KOs. In UU, Starmie certainly gets ten points for its stellar performance.
