Project SS UU Lure That Threat! Week 25: Slowking (Submissions)

Voting has finished! Congrats to TotomonGang for winning the week, your submission will be added to the Hall of Fame. Now, let’s introduce this weeks threat!
:ss/Slowbro-Galar:
Slowbro-Galar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 16 SpA / 240 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Future Sight
- Shell Side Arm
- Flamethrower
- Psyshock

This week we have slowbro-galar! Though recently going down in viability with its CM set, the assault vest set is still very strong, checking dangerous threats like Salamence, Primarina, and keldeo. The future sight support it gives its teammates is also invaluable. How will you lure this threat? Submissions are due July 17 at 11:59 PM PST

Oven Rotom Oven the Rotom
:ss/rotom-heat:
Rotom-Heat @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Hex
- Overheat

Normally Glowbro can comfortably tank rotoms hits but with investment and the magic of hex it is basically 2HKO, burning glowbro also heavily limist its staying power as it wont be able to reliably wall other attackers like mence when it is constantly losing health. This set can barely beat glowbro in the 1v1 if the bro switches into a WoW, which is why this set is best used as a way to pressure glowbro in the long run, burning it first then volt switching and next time glowbro wont be able to come into our hex.

CALCS
252 SpA Rotom-Heat Hex (130 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240 SpD Assault Vest Slowbro-Galar: 164-194 (41.6 - 49.2%) -- 21.5% chance to 2HKO after burn damage
0 Atk Slowbro-Galar Shell Side Arm vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Rotom-Heat: 93-109 (38.5 - 45.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0 SpA Slowbro-Galar Shell Side Arm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-Heat: 93-109 (38.5 - 45.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

@ Life Orb
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Close Combat
- Darkest Lariat

Usually tapu bulu runs horn leech, close combat, and zen headbutt on its main SD set, Slowbro-g being bulky enough to afford to stay in on zen headbutt and ohko it with sludge bomb, not if it is darkest lariat and ohko's it.

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Tapu Bulu Darkest Lariat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Slowbro-Galar: 551-650 (139.8 - 164.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Tapu Bulu Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Slowbro-Galar: 260-307 (65.9 - 77.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery and Grassy Terrain recovery

:ss/kommo-o:
Kommo-o @ Life Orb
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 Spe
Lonely Nature
- Clangorous Soul
- Drain Punch
- Earthquake
- Clanging Scales

Usually Kommo-o runs a Stealth Rock set, giving Slowbro a free switch-in and Future Sight. With this one, though, Kommo-o can Clang on the switch-in and OHKO with Earthquake. Switching to a physical wall to take the hit won't work because +1 STAB LO boosted Clanging Scales hits like a truck even when uninvested. The speed EVs allow Kommo-o to outspeed Azelf at +1 and the rest are put into HP to take priority attacks and set up more easily.

+1 252+ Atk Life Orb Kommo-o Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Slowbro-Galar: 434-512 (110.1 - 129.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 252+ Atk Life Orb Kommo-o Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 220+ Def Amoonguss: 192-227 (44.4 - 52.5%) -- 22.7% chance to 2HKO
+1 0 SpA Life Orb Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 36 SpD Amoonguss: 265-313 (61.3 - 72.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Screw you Amoongus, can't switch in now
+1 0 SpA Life Orb Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Tangrowth: 398-468 (98.5 - 115.8%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
+1 0 SpA Life Orb Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 383-452 (91.6 - 108.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 0 SpA Life Orb Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Moltres: 265-312 (69 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252+ Atk Life Orb Kommo-o Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Primarina: 181-213 (49.7 - 58.5%) -- 69.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
^Benchmark for defensive fairies, Kommo-o doesn't do well against them

:ss/Hatterene:
Hatterene (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Power Whip
- Psycho Cut

SD hatterene is a weird, cool mon that's fun to try out. Having the same attack stat as cobalion was a surprise to me. Anyway, AV glowbro owns Hatterene, though it hates psyshock if boosted too much. This sets up SD on the switch and can 2HKO with psycho cut.
+2 252+ Atk Hatterene Psycho Cut vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Slowbro-Galar: 204-241 (51.7 - 61.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

also....
+2 252+ Atk Hatterene Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 331-391 (47 - 55.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Hatterene Power Whip vs. 252 HP / 220+ Def Unaware Quagsire: 368-436 (93.4 - 110.6%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Hatterene Play Rough vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Salamence: 416-492 (105.8 - 125.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Hatterene Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Umbreon: 338-402 (85.7 - 102%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Hatterene Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 8 Def Tangrowth: 205-243 (50.7 - 60.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

New stallbreaker that will dominate the meta!?!

pokemonisfun

Banned deucer.
:salamence:

Salamence @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Earthquake

252 SpA Salamence Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 240 SpD Assault Vest Slowbro-Galar: 127-150 (32.2 - 38%) -- 96.7% chance to 3HKO
4 Atk Salamence Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Slowbro-Galar: 196-232 (49.7 - 58.8%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO

Normally AV Slowbro will expect to wall you after you reveal Draco or Flames. If you can get them to EQ range, you can quickly snipe them off. It also hits a few threats like Nihilego.

Voting is up! After a tiebreak from magnum the winner is HydreigonTheChild with their lariat bulu submission! Congrats, it will be added to the hall of fame. Now, let’s introduce this weeks threat!
:ss/Krookodile:
Krookodile @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt

This week we have everyone’s favorite Glue mon, Krookodile! This mon has been a long standing staple of the tier, providing so much utility into one role. How will you lure this threat? Submissions are due July 24 at 11:59 PM PST

(F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 HP / 52 Def / 204 SpA
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Ice Beam

Nidoqueen can lure in krookodile on a free switch and want it to click eq to OHKo nidoqueen and win. That is not the case since nidoqueen can live an earthquake and ohko with ice beam in return.

252 Atk Krookodile Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 52 Def Nidoqueen: 320-380 (83.3 - 98.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
204+ SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoqueen Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Krookodile: 322-380 (97.2 - 114.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

:rhyperior:
Rhyperior @ Choice Band
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Heat Crash
- Megahorn

Krook usually doesnt fear Rhyperior too much, since the standard bulky Rhyperior set doesn't 2hko after intimidate and even if Krook's Earthquake doesn't 2hko back, Rhyperior usually needs its leftovers pretty badly for it to be any useful throughout the game. Band Rhyperior takes advantage of Krook trying to switch in/stay and cripple/rocks to OHKO with Megahorn.
-1 252+ Atk Choice Band Rhyperior Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Krookodile: 364-430 (109.9 - 129.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
You sometimes get to catch Krook off guard extremely early in the game, or even on lead matchup which makes for an insane amount of progress. Krook can't ko band Rhyp by clicking Knock > Eq (does 95.5 max*) so you should always get the trade from full vs full assuming you can land one Megahorn. Band Rhyp can also catch stuff like fat grasses off guard, which makes it a valuable partner for some of our rampaging waters rn.

*252 Atk Krookodile Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Solid Rock Rhyperior: 181-216 (48.7 - 58.2%) -- 96.1% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Krookodile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Rhyperior: 118-139 (31.8 - 37.4%) -- 87.4% chance to 3HKO

:ss/Aegislash:
Aegislash @ Adrenaline Orb
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Shadow Claw
- Close Combat

Normally Krookodile wants to come in on Aegislash after it KOs something to revenge kill it. However, it ends up giving Aegislash a boost to its speed! Now, Aegislash is able to KO krookodile with close combat. This set is a bit situational, as you have to be at +2 to KO since intimidate lowers your attack to +1, but I still consider it a lure nonetheless

After a month long hiatus, lure that threat is back! I’ve got some new ideas now, and it’s time to bring back this project! This week’s lure is down below.
:ss/Celesteela:
Celesteela @ Leftovers
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Flamethrower
- Leech Seed
- Protect

This week we have Celesteela! Celesteela has been making a strong resurgence after being on the decline for so long by being able to handle #1 threat aegislash in addition to trading with threats like lycanroc and zarude. How will you lure this threat? Submissions are due September 4 at 11:59 PM
