Pet Mod SS OU Theorymon (Completed)

:ss/drapion: + Slack Off + Thick Fat

SD with setup sounds funny. esp as a nice ghost resist with recovery... but the downsides.... is that 90 attack is gonna let it down so much... and drapion isnt known for its bulk regardless, mots fire hits 2hko or 3hko anyway, it is a nice heatran check but its forced to click slack off every time, it just sounds to good on paper and in practice it will flop, even at +2 it isnt strong and lando-t pressures the fuck out of it, so does mudsdale, moltres hits it hard with hurricane, blaziken smacks it with CC, darm has t kick and flare blitz still nukes it. Overall it can have potential esp if u run bulk on it but i dont see it doing much esp against non fire/ice offensive threats and there are plenty of them

:ss/hippowdon: + Teleport

The man with 4MSS alr with eq, WW, toxic, rocks, slack off.... teleport helps it compete with lando-t or mudsdale but good god it has to drop toxic or rocks which major sucks for it. If it could fit it that is it would be a major boon, prob it can drop toxic to be able to freely bring in smth, idk that requires experimentation and idk .
:ss/chandelure: + Magic Guard + Aura Sphere

LO sounds nutty esp against stall or BO that require stuff such as hazards to cripple it, CM goes nutty esp if it gets behind a sub considering how many things it forces out. Thing is if it competes with gengar, blace, and rapdiash but i really doubt it will shove it out.
:ss/salamence: + Aerialate

Sounds like an ubermon but dd mence with aerialite makes it so it goes nuts... having no return sucks but the sheer power of double edge is nuclear

+1 252 Atk Aerilate Salamence Double-Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Zapdos: 207-243 (64.4 - 75.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Yeah it does nuts damage.... but it doesnt have the longetivity and kills itself with chip + the damage it takes setting up + the recoil from double edge... its gonna hurt. Sounds very very good on HO and on balance offense sounds funny if special mence works due to having a viable special attack and hyper voice is very consistent.

252 SpA Aerilate Salamence Hyper Voice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Toxapex: 117-138 (38.4 - 45.3%) -- 10.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

This does a lot of damage btw... and its gonna be hard to switch into it but i respect it. its got a lot of potential
:ss/lycanroc-dusk: + Ghost type + Poltergeist

Banded lycanroc goes nuts. Esp with poltergeist hitting for a lot on many major targets. downside is that u cant use knock spam otherwise that slowbro and dhelmise walls u.

252 Atk Choice Band Lycanroc-Dusk Poltergeist vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 135-159 (44.4 - 52.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Choice Band Lycanroc-Dusk Poltergeist vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 154-183 (38.1 - 45.2%) -- 9.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Choice Band Lycanroc-Dusk Poltergeist vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mudsdale: 169-199 (41.8 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Lycanroc-Dusk Poltergeist vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Cofagrigus: 278-330 (87.1 - 103.4%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Yeah these calcs show a lot, poltergeist is such a good stab to have and i see potential

Salamence :7
Chandelure :4
Hippowdon :2

With that, Lycanroc-Dusk and Salamence are the last entries into this pet mod!

And with that, Gen 8 Theorymons is, more or less, complete. We've had some broken mons, some underpowered ones, and some that are just plain goofy (Turtonator). Im not discounting any changes to the roster, but we have no plans to do it for time being. We will hopefully see you all here after SV releases for the next edition of Theorymons, and we hope you had fun with this mod. Its still going to be playable on Dragonhaven, so if you wanna check it out now that its completed, you can hop on our discord and look for matches. Thank you all for participating!

Shoutout to lavarina for making sure this mod didnt go under in my periods of absence, to ImpSquare for building all my teams and starting the VR, to TailGlowVM for coding the early slates, to Beaf Cultist for just being a good presence in the cord since early days and a good mod. Also to tkmof (i have no idea what your smogon handle is) for coding most of this mod, scorbunnys for handling the VR, and HydreigonTheChild for being undefeated in this tier tournament wise.

Love you all!

Now that the mod is finished for the generation, it might be useful to update the first page with an up-to-date list of the changes made, and do a final VR.

Specs latios is very powerful since blocking tbolt is risky asf since u risk eating an ice beam, and switching in smth such as gastrodon, turtonator, scrafty, raikou and a general nuke. It gets many opportunities of entry and abuses a lot of threats such as slowbro, noctowl, corviknight zapdos, rotom-w, volcanion, and more. Trick rounds off the coverage to cripple the checks that are left such as wish sylveon, blissey, sp def tran, celebi, and mabye some more. It is one of the best breakers in the tier due to this and most checks or counters risk a 50/50 (can favour one side more depending on the match) and it generally forces progress easily

This uses latios' great speed to have great revenge killing potential. This trades latios' excellent MU against defense to instead be against offense since it revenges many offensive threats such as +1 garchomp, +1 blaziken, scarf blace, +1 flygon, +1 haxorus, +1 gyarados, and more. Latios still abuses its bolt beam coverage to make 50/50's against offense where they have to predict correctly, trick still cripples defensive walls and is able to stop bulky setup sweepers such as volcarona, frostmoth, musharna, and can just lock setup sweepers on screens teams.

Latios sacrifices power for being able to be unwallable pretty much, prediction a tbolt or ice beam doesnt work in this case, as a lando-t or mudsdale is going to be absolutely nuked regardless while a copperajah, or wishiwashi who wants to stay in vs a latios doesn't work either as they can just tbolt and nuke ur would be check. This set is very very powerful at dismantling teams that rely on scouting the move and switching to an appropriate counter.
