Hello! The Replay Vault is a short video series where we highlight funny, impressive, or otherwise notable replays throughout the years, edited together with some nice visuals and music. Basically, we'll be taking the best parts of a replay, including chat where it fits, slap on some good Pokémon remixes and graphics to go with it, and voila: The Smogon Replay Vault. These will be posted to our Facebook and Twitter accounts, most likely once a week (SUBJECT TO CHANGES!!!) on Monday. Here's an example to showcase what this series is all about:

Credits to Kalalokki for the video.

Now this is where YOU come in! We would like you to submit your replays, your friend's replays, your enemy's replays, your parent's replays, and even your grandma's nephew's dog's replays! Any and all replays that you think are worthy enough to be showcased to everyone. Now, we won't be able to show every single replay that's submitted, so we'll just list some criterias that we'll be looking for when selecting ones for showcasing:
  • Length - We would prefer to keep these videos around 1 minute long, so the highlight of the replay can't be too many turns, though parts of the less important turns can be sped through.
  • Chat and nicknames - No inappropriate nicknames for the Pokémon on either side. If the chat is important to show for the replay, it or the users' nicknames can't be too inappropriate or insulting, but a few swears isn't the end of the world.
  • No low ladder/skill - Everyone isn't good at this game at first, so we don't really want out people who might be new to it all. Teams might be their favorite in-game Pokémon or they might just use 4 Fire-moves on their Charizard and attack a Heatran with it. This one is sort of just up to our discretion in the end, so it might not be enforced super strictly.
  • Tournament replays - We're also interested in showcasing highlight games or plays from the various tournaments on our forums, official or not, so feel free to submit those as well with maybe a link to the tours and the week/playoff in question.
To make it easier for everyone, we want YOU to follow this simple template when submitting your replays (just re-use the template within the same post if you have multiple replays you want to submit), as it will condense all the information we could want in a nice way:
  1. Replay link
  2. Turns of interest to highlight
  3. Short description of what happens
  4. Any preferences of chat or other parts being important to showcase
We'll go through this thread periodically and reply to replays in batches that we find good enough to feature. Those submissions that aren't chosen will be deleted to save up some clutter in the thread, though it will notify you that your replay wasn't chosen. We won't be notifying when each of the approved submissions will go live, you'll just have to watch each week until yours pop up.

That should be everything for now, hopefully you'll find this to be a fun thing to do! Feel free also to join our Discord server, we have a dedicated chat for this!

2. Turn 21-40
3. Gen 8 National Dex OU ladder game: after an awfully played HO mirror match, Serperior comes in down 5-2 and masterfully parahaxes its way to a 2-1 lead before running out of Leaf Storm PP. In to save the day is screens lead Koko, who crits the opp’s Mega Gyara with U-turn to cement the skillful win.
4. Tune in to the chat during the aforementioned turns to observe the opp’s gradual descent into madness.

Enjoy watching! Credit to Michael213 for the masterclass display :worrywhirl:

3. My favorite replay coming from early this gen in november. Given courage by the alt SANDY SHOCKS, I rocked 6 times on a sucker punching kingambit, then earth powered on the kowtow cleave, then toedscruel came in to threaten the KO but in reality the big man flexed again with a negative priority spore on the 7th sucker punch. Some ppl don't know that nicknaming your sandy shocks THIRD EYE truly opens your third eye and gives you perfect reads, but I'm here to tell you.

2) all of them (15 turns long)
3) Have you ever gotten literally 0 turns right? Gotten good luck and still lost? Well, MZ has felt this in ORAS Ubers Cup! After an uneventful game 1, Wamr comes back with a vengeance but he's faced with a very bad match-up: he's facing down Mega Gengar + Latios... and he's brought balance! However, there's a glimmer of hope: if he gets every play right, he might be able to pull through... and that's exactly what he does. Stays in on Scolipede with Mega Diancie (Scolipede are often Earthquake), eats Dragon Tail from PRIMAL GROUDON with it, pivots into Latias on the Precipice... you name it, he does it! The pay-off is even sweeter for viewers as the Arceus-Normal isn't E-killer, but Wallceus and can thus live a crit Focus Blast! I love this replay so much that I show it to everyone I know. Chat is barren, unfortunately.

3. A very quick AG Team Tour (https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/ag-snake-draft-i-week-3.3676586/) game where Xerneas shows just how much of a threat it can be vs one of the most known balance teams in the tier

WRONG - eviolite gurdurr eats it up and sends azelf back to lake valor. now evil moltres galar is the only thing standing in the path of a conk family victory. does gurdurr stay in and pray that the 70% hurricane misses due to the power of family? or does gurdurr switch in hopes cresselia can avoid getting haxed by the most broken pokemon of all time (before gen 9) -MOLTRES G and set up a clean path to victory via trick room? this was a game for UUPL which bb skarm and TheKingKarp ended up leading us to winning finals https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/uufpl-ii-chapter-4-chips-ahoy.3700714/page-3

Wouldn't be a good replay vault without the WOAT CAP replay.

2. Turns 5-10
3. 6 Ancient Powet boosts in a row without Serene Grace. Simple, efficient, beautiful. That's a 0.0001% chance, so a literal 1 in a million chance.

These replays have been selected by our team and will be featured on Twitter and Facebook!
Actually, the first one (Azurill) went live already last week, while Finch vs Freezai will go live very soonTM. Thanks everyone for submitting replays so far and a huge s/o to WigglyTree for creating the videos!
The remaining replays selected by our team will go out in the next weeks, while the other ones not selected won't be featured. Keep submitting, tho!

Thanks everyone for your patience on this; happy posting :psyglad:
