Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Fly
- Stealth Rock
- Gravity

since every time someone sees a Lando anyone thinks he's scarf, Zfly can obviously OHKO Buzzwole.

Tapu Bulu @ Psychium Z
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Zen Headbutt

Normally, Tapu Bulu can't really touch Buzzwole, but I remembered this gets Zen Headbutt. Bulu lures the giant mansquito, but if you can predict that, go ahead and Swords Dance. A +2 Shattered Psyche is strong enough to 1HKO Buzzwole. Zen Headbutt also helps Tapu Bulu beat bulky Grass-types such as the rare Amoonguss and Mega Venusaur, as well as Toxapex (though Horn Leech at +2 has a chance to 1HKO anyway).

First time posting here, but this is really raw and i respect it. Just tried to think of sets that could not only break buzzwole but also have other benefits. These calcs were using the standard smogon spread..

Kartana @ Normalium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Giga Impact
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade

This could definitely get the job done for not only getting rid of Buzzwole but also for helping against other things that love to come into Kart.

+2 252 Atk Kartana Breakneck Blitz (200 BP) vs. 248 HP / 48+ Def Buzzwole: 368-434 (88.2 - 104%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+2 252 Atk Kartana Breakneck Blitz (200 BP) vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Zapdos: 452-532 (118 - 138.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Kartana Breakneck Blitz (200 BP) vs. 252 HP / 28 Def Tangrowth: 450-530 (111.3 - 131.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Hydro Pump

This is some heat but hear me out. Hydro Pump could really be interesting if rocks are covered turning Swampert into a mixed sweeper.

4 SpA Swampert-Mega Hydro Pump vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Kartana in Rain: 206-243 (79.2 - 93.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

4 SpA Swampert-Mega Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 189-223 (45.3 - 53.4%) -- 91.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

4 SpA Swampert-Mega Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 16 SpD Scizor-Mega in Rain: 169-199 (49.2 - 58%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO

Tapu Bulu @ Leftovers
Ability: Grassy Surge
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Protect
- Toxic
- Horn Leech
- Swords Dance/Leech Seed

This kinda set could be super annoying paired up with Magnezone to get rid of steels. When Buzzwole/Torn come in just hit them with Toxic then proceed to live for a while.

Kartana @ Choice Band
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Smart Strike
- Psycho Cut
- Sacred Sword

The coolest thing about Psycho Cut on Kart is that it is actually not a contact move, bypassing Static Zapdos and RH Torn in addition to picking up a 2hko after rocks on Buzzwole.

252 Atk Choice Band Kartana Psycho Cut vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Zapdos: 119-141 (31 - 36.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Choice Band Kartana Psycho Cut vs. 248 HP / 48+ Def Buzzwole: 194-230 (46.5 - 55.1%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Hidden Power Flying

even opponents that are careful enough to scout for z-fly will be caught off guard once your item is revealed because literally nobody uses this

0- SpA Landorus-Therian Hidden Power Flying vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 408-480 (97.6 - 114.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 144 SpD / 112 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Wing Attack
- Roost

People will switch-in their Buzzwole thinking you're EQ + Facade, Wing attack allows to 2hko Buzzwole after a SD sadly there's not enough EVs to put in ATK to allow the OHKO but it still a good lure imo. And of course Ice punch isn't killing our Gliscor.

+2 0 Atk Gliscor Wing Attack vs. 248 HP / 144+ Def Buzzwole: 304-364 (72.9 - 87.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Buzzwole Ice Punch vs. 244 HP / 0 Def Gliscor: 240-284 (68.1 - 80.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Poison Heal

Tyranitar @ Chople Berry / Firium Z
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 76 SpA / 180 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast
- Pursuit
- Crunch

This Chople Berry set can catch Buzzwole on a switch in, or it survives one drain punch and KO's it with Fire Blasts. 76 SpA Tyranitar using Inferno Overdrive OHKOs Buzzwole. This set also barely outpaces the Buzzwole set provided.

76 SpA Tyranitar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 272-322 (65 - 77%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after sandstorm damage and Leftovers recovery

0 Atk Buzzwole Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Chople Berry Tyranitar: 200-236 (58.6 - 69.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (23.9 - 28.2% recovered)

Then the follow-up, given fire blast had the lowest damage roll possible, and drain punch had the highest roll possible:
76 SpA Tyranitar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 272-322 (65 - 77%) -- guaranteed OHKO after sandstorm damage and Leftovers recovery

76 SpA Tyranitar Inferno Overdrive (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Buzzwole: 458-540 (109.5 - 129.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO after sandstorm damage and Leftovers recovery

acro's better; the unboosted bp is only 5 less than wing attack and gliscor is switching in on KOff pretty damn regularly

Good

Normalium Z Kartana - Fine set.
Hidden Power Flying Landorus-T - Decent set, especially with Mega Heracross gaining usage, though I'd run way more Speed investment.

Decent

Aerial Ace Kartana - You can't fit this on Swords Dance ever but it's an ok filler that lures Buzzwole on Choice Scarf sets.
Flyinium Z Landorus-T - You have to rely on them hard switching into Buzzwole the first time, because they will scout as soon as you don't reveal your item, so it's kinda prediction reliant, but still works well enough.
Psychium Z Tapu Bulu - You usually can't really fit this but you do lure Buzzwole, and atleast it does something useful outside of that.

Bad

Rocky Helmet Tangrowth - Buzzwole isn't meant to be a Tangrowth switch in.
Hydro Pump Mega Swampert
Toxic Tapu Bulu
Fire Blast Tyranitar
Wing Attack / Acrobatics Gliscor
Z-Peck Mamoswine
Psycho Cut Kartana - You don't have the slots to fit this, don't actually 2HKO Buzzwole, and is just way too easy to use once it's locked in.

Round 37: Mega Aggron
Deadline: 13 October

Aggron-Mega @ Aggronite
Ability: Filter
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef OR 248 HP / 56 Atk / 196 SpD / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature OR Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch / Fire Punch / Protect / Toxic

Mega Aggron is a pretty fun Pokemon that's been seeing niche use on stall as an alternative to Mega Sableye.

252 SpA Tapu Lele All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Filter Aggron-Mega: 373-441 (108.7 - 128.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Tapu Lele All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 248 HP / 196+ SpD Filter Aggron-Mega: 271-321 (79 - 93.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (SR + attack it switches into or CM on switch-in does the trick)

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Thunder Punch
- Focus Punch
- Substitute

252+ Atk Huge Power Mawile-Mega Focus Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Filter Aggron-Mega: 220-261 (63.9 - 75.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mega Aggron's main attraction for stall is its ability to counter Mega Mawile... as long as it isn't running Focus Punch. Mmaw should click Play Rough or Thunder Punch a few times on the switch to get Aggron within range before dealing the fatal blow.

Redacted torn does a decent chunk to Aggron with Z-Focus Blast. It can annoy Chansey too with Knock Off so Aggron Stall won't have an easy time vs. it.

252 SpA Tornadus-Therian All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Filter Aggron-Mega: 331-391 (96.2 - 113.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Tapu Bulu can take on Mega Aggron if it Bulks Up as Mega Aggron comes in and proceed to slowly but surely 1v1 it. However, a critical hit could really hamper Tapu Bulu’s chances of taking Mega Aggron on.

Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Horn Leech
- Superpower
- Stone Edge / Zen Headbutt

With there being so many bulky Tapu Bulu running around, I can't help but think that people are kinda forgetting about offensive variants (I know for sure that I'm getting more careless around Bulu), and that allows them to put a big chunk into a lot of teams that simply aren't prepared to deal with them anymore. Carry ways of keeping stuff like Tangrowth under pressure and all of a sudden Fightinium Tapu Bulu is able to put a huge dent into a lot of common/otherwise fairly decent defensive cores like BuluPex, ScizorPex, CelePexFable... wow, a lot of Pex cores actually lol. Of course, this also allows it to totally circumvent Mega Aggron, which causes massive headaches for your bog standard SpD SD Bulu variants. Just be careful to not reveal your offensiveness too early and you're golden.

Good

Fightinium Z Tapu Lele - Mega Aggron is supposed to check Tapu Lele, so it'll often try to switch in.
Focus Punch Mega Mawile - Mega Aggron is run because it deals with common sets of Mega Mawile, Focus Punch sets are fine and deal with Mega Aggron.
Fightinium Z Tornadus-T - Mega Aggron is run to deal with Tornadus-T but this overwhelms it pretty handily.
Fightinium Z Tapu Bulu - Offensive Tapu Bulu is forgotten about pretty often these days, which is why Mega Aggron will some times be sent in to get Stealth Rock up.

Decent

Bulk Up Tapu Bulu - It still falls to 252+ Atk variants, but works against 56 Atk variants.

Bad

Round 38: Pyukumuku

Pyukumuku @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

Pyukumuku is run on stall pretty often, and everyone hates it, so kill it.

Eventually win by stalling recover PP, critting, etc. This set in general is great vs stall lacking Mega Aggron or Jirachi, p much.

EV: 252 SpA/ 4 SpD/ 252 Spe

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Taunt

Mega Gyarados is one of the premier offensive threats to Stall IMO, having access to Mold Breaker and Taunt. Pyukumuku is completely shut down by Taunt and in return Mega Gyarados can break through it with a boosted Crunch. Aside from Clefable and Zapdos, Mega Gyarados is able to nearly set up on any Pokemon on Stall, being able to Taunt Mega Sableye, Skarmory, Hippowdon and Avalugg, as well as easily plough through Chansey and all the other Stall Pokemon.

I put Moxie on Mega Gyarados on here just to bluff FlyZ Gyarados and lure in Pyukumuku

Outrage Mega Charizard X

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Flare Blitz / Fire Punch
- Earthquake

Outrage has been starting to pop up on Dragon Dance Mega Charizard X builds once again for its ability to blast through some of its usual defensive checks, with Pyukumuku and its cousin, Quagsire, being the primary reason for its inclusion. Outrage guarantees the 2HKO against both Pyukumuku and Quagsire after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery, and even if rocks aren't up, it's still slightly in Zard X's favor to 2HKO Pyukumuku with a 55% chance if it's at full health which means any prior chip damage will spell doom for it in the later stages of the game.

Outrage is also Zard X's strongest recoil-less attack against Hippowdon (which is a big deal because Hippowdon's Earthquake after +1 Flare Blitz recoil has a high chance to KO), Landorus-T, and Toxapex (which does noticeably more damage than Earthquake).

While this replay doesn't showcase Zard X going up against Pyukumuku stall unfortunately, it's up against Quagsire stall (skip to turn 52), which is a very similar Unaware Water-type check to Zard X, and it shows how dangerous this monster has truly become once again for this kind of playstyle.

252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Outrage vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Pyukumuku: 153-181 (48.7 - 57.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Outrage vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Pyukumuku: 153-181 (48.7 - 57.6%) -- 55.5% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

+1 252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Outrage vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Unaware Quagsire: 204-241 (51.7 - 61.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+1 252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Outrage vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Toxapex: 264-312 (87.1 - 102.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

+1 252 Atk Tough Claws Charizard-Mega-X Outrage vs. 252 HP / 112+ Def Hippowdon: 273-322 (65 - 76.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Volcarona @ Buginium Z
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Fire Blast
- Substitute
- Quiver Dance

Pyuku usually walls and stalls Volc, but SubSwarm flips the matchup on its head; Pyuku is about as useful as Luvdisc against anything with a sub up and drops to a Swarm-boosted Savage Spin-Out or, if you want to hold onto your Z-Move for the inevitable Chansey, two Swarm-boosted Bug Buzzes.

252 SpA Swarm Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Pyukumuku: 180-213 (57.3 - 67.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Swarm Volcarona Savage Spin-Out (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Pyukumuku: 349-412 (111.1 - 131.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
