[SET COMMENTS]
Silvally uses its good Speed, Attack, and coverage along with Choice Scarf to function as a solid revenge killer and offensive pivot.
U-turn maintains momentum on Normal-resistant foes such as Galarian Stunfisk, Rhydon, Sableye, and Tangela. Explosion deals heavy damage to most neutral targets and prevents Defoggers like Altaria, Articuno, and Cramorant from clearing entry hazards. Crunch provides super effective damage against Ghost-types like Froslass, Rotom, and Gourgeist-S.

Silvally pairs well with pivots such as Thwackey, Articuno, and Rotom, forming VoltTurn cores to chip down the opposition. As it invites and pivots out on Rock-, Steel-, and Ghost-types such as Rhydon, Klinklang, and Rotom with U-turn, teammates that can take advantage of them like Alolan-Dugtrio and Thievul are appreciated. Similarly, physical walls like Tangela, Cofagrigus, and Palossand can switch in on Silvally without too much trouble, so special wallbreakers that can threaten them like Jynx, Thievul, and Choice Specs Exeggutor are also good partners.

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band amplifies Silvally’s wallbreaking prowess while still making it an effective pivot. U-turn allows Silvally to escape bad matchups against Pokemon like Tangela, Cofagrigus, and Sableye. Crunch hits frailer Ghost-types such as Froslass and Rotom. Flamethrower targets Tangela and Steel-types such as Klinklang and Perrserker, while Surf discourages Rock- and Ground-types like Rhydon, Palossand, and Coalossal from switching in.

Pivots like Rotom, Thwackey, and Articuno can help get Silvally onto the field safely and form VoltTurn cores. Pokemon that can deal with Rock- and Ghost-types like Tangela, Lurantis, and Alolan Persian ease the need for prediction, allowing Silvally to use its powerful Multi-Attack more freely as the game progresses. While Silvally does have coverage to discourage Rock-types and bulky Grass-types from freely switching in, it still appreciates Pokemon that can switch into them, such as Tangela and Altaria. In return, Silvally can threaten slower wallbreakers like Skuntank and Exeggutor. Physical attackers like Sawk, Rapidash, and Alolan Dugtrio appreciate Silvally weakening physical walls for them.

[SET]
name: Mixed Attacker

move 3: Flamethrower
move 4: Crunch / Shadow Ball / Surf
item: Life Orb
ability: RKS System

evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
With either Swords Dance or Work Up, Silvally becomes an imposing physical or mixed attacker thanks to its diverse coverage choices. Flamethrower hits Klinklang and Pawniard super effectively, preventing them from safely switching in. Crunch hits Rotom and Froslass, (ac) while Shadow Ball targets physically defensive Ghost-types like Cofagrigus, Palossand, and Gourgeist formes. However, opting for Shadow Ball encourages Silvally to run Work Up to boost the power of all its coverage moves. Surf targets Rock-types like Rhydon and Coalossal. Life Orb boosts all of Silvally's attacks at the cost of wearing it down whenever it attacks.

Silvally appreciates other wallbreakers like Sawk or Skuntank spreading chip damage and providing Knock Off utility, as even at +1, it can have difficulty securing KOs on defensive Pokemon like Stunfisk and Altaria. Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Miltank and Rhydon can help rack up residual damage, letting Silvally more easily set up as the game progresses. Due to Silvally's four-moveslot syndrome, Pokemon that can cover specific threats are appreciated to make it as difficult to wall as possible. If Silvally decides to run Shadow Ball or Crunch for the last moveslot, Water- and Grass-types like Poliwrath and Kabutops would be appreciated to handle Rock-types. However, if Surf is chosen, Pokemon to deal with Ghost-types like Rotom and Froslass, such as Throh and Qwilfish, are appreciated.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Silk Scarf feigns Choice Band, but significantly decreases the power of Silvally’s coverage moves. A fully physical Swords Dance set alongside Flame Charge allows Silvally to be a threatening late-game cleaner, though it faces significant competition with its other formes.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Ghost-types**: Physically bulky Ghost-types like Cofagrigus, Palossand, and Gourgeist formes can freely switch in against most Silvally variants. Life Orb sets with Shadow Ball can 2HKO them, however. Frailer Ghost-types like Froslass and Choice Scarf Rotom can revenge kill it but cannot handle super effective attacks. Sableye, in particular, is not hit super effectively by any of its moves and can easily wall it.

**Phyiscal Walls**: Physical walls like Tangela and Qwilfish can status it before whittling it down with residual damage from either Leech Seed, entry hazards, or attacks. Miltank and Alolan Persian can outpace non-Choice Scarf sets and cripple it with status or wear it down with chip damage.

**Rock-types**: Without Surf, Rock-types like Rhydon and Coalossal can switch into Silvally without much risk. They can proceed to set up Stealth Rock or whittle it down with attacks. Shell Smash users like Carracosta and Crustle can set up on it freely if Silvally is locked into the wrong move.

**Steel-types**: Klinklang and Pawniard resist Multi-Attack and Crunch and can beat it in a one-on-one situation. However, both are 2HKOed Flamethrower.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Choice Scarf users like Manectric and Alolan Persian can revenge kill Choice Scarf Silvally with enough prior chip. If Silvally lacks a Choice Scarf, then Pokemon like Alolan Dugtrio, Galarian Rapidash, and Ninetales can similarly pick off Silvally with sufficient prior residual damage.

**Status**: Toxic wears Silvally down even faster, burns neuter its offensive capabilities, and paralysis hampers its good Speed.

**Bulky Grass-types**: Bulky Grass-types like Tangela and Gourgeist-XL can switch into non-Flamethrower variants with impunity, recover any damage it inflicts, and wear Silvally down with attacks. The former can put it to sleep with Sleep Powder or cripple it with Knock Off, while the latter can incapacitate it with Will-O-Wisp.

This is kinda wrong to have bulky Grass-types. There are two archetypes you are missing: physical walls like Tangela, Qwilfish, Alolan Persian, and Miltank & bulky Ghost-types like Palossand, Gourgeist formes, and Sableye/Cofagrigus.

**Rock-types**: Without Surf, Rock-types like Rhydon and Coalossal can switch into Silvally without much risk. They can proceed to set up Stealth Rock or whittle it down with attacks. Shell Smash users like Carracosta and Crustle can set up on it freely Silvally is locked into the wrong move.

**Residual Damage**: Despite its solid bulk, entry hazards can quickly put Silvally in range of faster Pokemon. Toxic wears Silvally down even faster, burns neuter its offensive capabilities, and paralysis cripples its good Speed. replace this with just status

Crunch hits Rotom and Froslass. while Shadow Ball targets physically defensive Ghost-types like Cofagrigus, Palossand, and Gourgeist formes. However, opting for Shadow Ball weakens Multi-Attack, making it less consistent against neutral targets.
