[Overview]

Sealeo is directly outclassed by Dewgong in most roles due to its slightly lower defenses and Speed, but it does have a few movepool differences that make it worth consideration. While Dewgong is right at home on heavy stall teams due to its ability to hard counter Huntail and provide team support through Perish Song, Sealeo fits a little better on Spikes stacking balance teams due to its access to Yawn and Roar. In regards to being able to phaze, Sealeo faces major competition from Wailord for a teamslot, compared to whom Sealeo is significantly weaker and has a much worse typing. Unless you absolutely need the combination of Yawn and Roar, you'll probably be better off with the other aforementioned choices.

[SET]
name: Shuffler
move 1: Yawn
move 2: Roar
move 3: Ice Beam
move 4: Protect / Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Thick Fat
nature: Calm
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
- Yawn and Roar allow Sealeo to capably phaze the opponent, building up Spikes damage and preventing the opponent from setting up.
- Ice Beam is a great STAB move and will actually hit slightly harder than Dewgong's own Ice Beam
- Protect allows Sealeo to stall for Leftovers recovery and pairs nicely well with Yawn
- Toxic is an option to cripple other Water-types like Wailord, but Sealeo will likely get more mileage out of Protect and Yawn

[ADDITIONAL SET COMMENTS]
- Max Special Defense makes use of Sealeo's typing and allows it to check Huntail and other special attackers like Haunter
- Surf is an option for STAB over Ice Beam, but Ice is a much better mono-type attack than Water
- Hidden Power Grass can be used in the last slot to take on opposing Water-types a little better
- Sealeo requires Spikes support to be worth using over Dewgong, making Roselia or Glalie a required teammate
- Needs something to switch into Fighting- and Rock-type moves, meaning Chimecho and Sableye are good teammates as well with Chimecho being able to keep up Yawn pressure
- Sealeo crumbles to Bellossom and Plusle, making a backup to special attackers needed. Flareon works well in this regard and can keep Sealeo healthy with Wish

[Other Options]
- Hail + Ice Body
- Curse
- Charm
- Body Slam
- Encore
- Icy Wind

[Checks and Counters]
- Hitmonchan
- Vigoroth
- Plusle
- Dewgong
- Kecleon
- Strong physical attackers generally give it major trouble
