Mabosstiff is a trendy dog in RarelyUsed; in just the first two rounds of the RarelyUsed Ladder Tournament swiss phase, it has seen notable usage. Stakeout causes Mabosstiff to have very limited switch-ins; even something as bulky as Mudsdale takes 66% minimum from a Stakeout-boosted Crunch. One of the best answers to Mabosstiff is Tera Fairy Slowbro, but it being forced to Terastallize can be capitalized on by teammates such as Paldean Tauros-W. Play Rough slams Dark-types like Krookodile. Facade lets Mabosstiff retain usefulness if it gets burned from Coalossal's Flame Body. On the other hand, Double Edge is the most powerful move Mabosstiff has to hit Fairy-types like Sylveon and Tera Fairy Slowbro, OHKOing Sylveon with Stakeout after Stealth Rock and doing upwards of 60% to Slowbro with Stakeout. Fire Fang OHKOes Klefki with Stakeout after Stealth Rock. Tera Dark makes Mabosstiff's Crunch even stronger. A Stakeout-boosted Tera Dark Crunch has a 25% chance to OHKO extremely bulky Pokemon like Alomomola and Mudsdale and will deal a lot of damage at worst.
