[overview]
**Draft order**: Round 2 onwards

**Price range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**: Roaring Moon is one of the fastest and best setup sweepers in Draft. Combining great Speed and Attack with solid bulk, good coverage, and Protosynthesis, Roaring Moon is a threatening setup sweeper. Even when not setting up, Roaring Moon can be a terrifying wallbreaker, using Knock Off to remove foes' items and punching holes in teams with solid coverage. Because of its ability, Protosynthesis, Roaring Moon also fits very well on sun teams, allowing it to be less reliant on Booster Energy. Not much wants to get hit by a Choice Band Roaring Moon with a Protosynthesis boost in Attack. Even with all of these great traits, Roaring Moon can struggle against faster physical threats and can run into difficulty because of phazing moves.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Setup sweeper**: Combining Booster Energy, strong STAB attacks, and coverage moves allows Roaring Moon to threaten foes out and create opportunities for itself to set up. Thanks to its special bulk, Roost can also fit on these sets, allowing Roaring Moon to stay healthy and set up further.

**Wallbreaker**: Roaring Moon can use its high base Attack to be an immediate threat to teams even without setup. Thanks to its easily spammable STAB moves, Roaring Moon can wear down opposing teams and force many switches. It can take advantage of the switches it forces by using U-turn to pivot teammates in for better matchups.

**Revenge killer**: Because of its naturally high Speed, Roaring Moon can have good success as a revenge killer. Utilizing items like Choice Scarf or Booster Energy, Roaring Moon can be great speed control, forcing many foes out and regaining momentum.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Knock Off, Crunch, Throat Chop, Outrage, Dragon Claw, Scale Shot

**Setup moves**: Dragon Dance

**Utility moves**: U-turn, Roost, Substitute, Taunt

**Coverage**: Acrobatics, Earthquake, Brick Break, Fire Fang, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Zen Headbutt, X-Scissor, Thunder Fang

Niche Moves
========
**Jaw Lock**: Jaw Lock is a niche option that lets Roaring Moon trap a passive Pokemon on the field, allowing it to set up freely.

**Phazing moves**: Dragon Tail or Roar can be used to phaze foes on bulkier sets that aim to take advantage of Roaring Moon's special bulk in order to check special threats.

Common Items
========
**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy can viably boost Attack or Speed depending on what the matchup requires. This also enables Roaring Moon to effectively use Acrobatics, which can be a great coverage move.

**Choice Band**: Choice Band lets Roaring Moon be an amazing wallbreaker, spamming Knock Off and other powerful STAB moves to weaken opposing teams and using U-turn to pivot out on defensive switch-ins.

**Choice Scarf**: When speed control is needed more reliably than a single Booster Energy activation, Choice Scarf allows Roaring Moon to be a speedy threat for the duration of the game. It also enables Roaring Moon to function as a highly effective revenge killer.

Niche Items
========
**Damage-boosting items**: Damage-boosting items are highly effective options for Roaring Moon. By boosting damage consistently throughout a match, these items can enable Roaring Moon to hit important damage thresholds without the one-time use drawback of Booster Energy or the Choice-lock from Choice items.

**Clear Amulet**: When facing Intimidate or Parting Shot users, Clear Amulet can be useful to maintain a boosted Attack stat and prevent switches from Parting Shot.

**Lum Berry**: As a physical attacker, being able to avoid burns is always nice. Lum Berry can also enable Outrage by curing its confusion.

**Assault Vest**: Due to its naturally high special bulk, Roaring Moon can be an effective user of Assault Vest, allowing it to be a soft check to many special threats.

**Loaded Dice**: Scale Shot is a solid move in Roaring Moon's arsenal, and Loaded Dice allows for more consistent damage output when using it.

**Leftovers**: Extra longevity through passive healing can do a lot for Roaring Moon, especially if it's going to be on the battlefield for many turns or is taking on a bulkier role in a team.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: When facing teams with a lot of entry hazard support, Heavy-Duty Boots can be a valuable item for preserving health on Roaring Moon, allowing it to be effective throughout a game.

Tera
========
Roaring Moon is near-universally banned as a Tera Captain, since the ability to change its type to a favorable matchup gives it near unparalleled setup ability. Using Tera Poison or Steel to create setup opportunities in front of a Fairy-type is one of the best ways for Roaring Moon to use Terastallization. Tera can also be used to boost the power of coverage moves, like combining Tera Flying with Acrobatics. If Roaring Moon is available as a Tera Captain, it is a viable early-to-mid-round 1 pick and should be the centerpiece of your draft.

Draft Strategy
========
When drafting Roaring Moon, it is important to think about partners that enable Roaring Moon's ability to get in and deal damage. While it has amazing stats and access to great setup options, Roaring Moon can still struggle getting through a team on its own. Things like reliable entry hazard support and solid pivots to get Roaring Moon on the field in favorable matchups go a long way in helping Roaring Moon reach its maximum potential.

**Bulky pivots**: Roaring Moon never wants to be switching out, but if it is, Pokemon like Slowking or Corviknight can take hits and pivot back into Roaring Moon, which make them great partners. By using these partners, Roaring Moon can safely avoid damage and get back on the field in a more advantageous position.

**Fairy-type answers**: One of Roaring Moon's biggest weaknesses is Fairy-type Pokemon and attacks. Pokemon that can switch into Fairy-type moves and threaten Fairy-types like Scizor or Gholdengo make great partners for Roaring Moon.

**Entry hazard support**: Any extra damage helps in enabling Roaring Moon. In addition, since Roaring Moon is one of the best Knock Off users in Draft, it can even help itself by removing pesky Heavy-Duty Boots from foes.

**Special attackers**: Having teammates that can force in specially defensive Pokemon and then pivot into Roaring Moon, such as Landorus or Enamorus, or vice versa, helps to maximize each other's wallbreaking potential.

**Sun setters**: Sun can greatly boost the damage output and sweeping potential of Roaring Moon and should always be a consideration when you draft it.

Checks and Counters
========
**Fairy- and Steel-types**: While individually Roaring Moon has coverage for both of these types, many teams pair these types together, and Roaring Moon can find it difficult to fit moves to hit both defensive types for super effective damage. A pair like Corviknight and Azumarill can both threaten Roaring Moon, and it is very difficult to fit coverage for both Pokemon into a single Roaring Moon set. Having teammates that can help wear down these types of Pokemon can help open up the game for Roaring Moon.

**Priority moves / fast revenge killers**: Roaring Moon has a good HP stat and solid Special Defense, but its Defense leaves much to be desired. Because of this, priority moves can be one of the best ways to deal with Roaring Moon, such as Bullet Punch from Scizor or Ice Shard from Weavile. Even Pokemon without priority moves that are naturally faster than Roaring Moon, like Meowscarada and Greninja, can threaten to revenge kill Roaring Moon—even if it has a Speed boost. Usually, getting a second boost in Speed can help limit these issues, whether through Protosynthesis or a second Dragon Dance, but keeping Roaring Moon as healthy as possible is the best way to avoid these problems.

**Physically defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Dondozo, Gliscor, and Great Tusk, among other strong defensive walls, can be difficult for Roaring Moon to take down. They are effective because they are able to survive a hit from Roaring Moon and either phaze it or hinder it with status or damage. Having strong wallbreakers or entry hazard support that can wear these foes down is one of the best ways to circumvent these threats.

[overview]
**Draft order**: (as)Mid round 1 Round 2 onward

**Price range**: 14-16 15-16 points (I've never seen cost 14, and it's almost always picked round 2 or 3)

**Overview**: Roaring Moon is one of the fastest and best users of Booster Energy in draft. (This sentence can be removed or changed to focus on Booster Energy less. Iron Valiant's overview has much less of a focus on that item, and it's arguably a better user.) Combining a base 119 amazing Speed and 139 Attack (I don't think stat numbers should be included here; you can just scroll up a little to see them) with solid bulk and good coverage, (ac) Roaring moon Moon is a threatening setup sweeper and can break holes in opposing teams even without setting up wallbreaker. Because of its ability Protosynthesis, Roaring Moon also fits very well on sun teams allowing it even more freedom in what item is uses (It doesn't necessarily have to run Booster Energy outside of sun). Not much can survive a hit from a Choice Band Roaring Moon with a Protosynthesis boost in Attack. (Add some weaknesses here)

Common Roles
========
**Setup Sweeper sweeper**: Combining Dragon Dance Knock off and coverage moves allowing (Rephrase this part; I'm assuming you mean it can find opportunities to set up thanks to the threat of its strong attacks, but that isn't really clear) Roaring Moon to find opportunities to setup and sweep many teams. Because of its Thanks to its special bulk, (ac) Roost can also fit on some of these sets, (ac) allowing Roaring Moon to stay healthy and get even more boosts. (ap)

**Wallbreaker**: Roaring Moon can use its high base Attack and Choice Band powerful attacks (Choice Band is great, but it's not required for wallbreaking) to be an immediate threat to teams. Its easily spammable stab STAB moves and access to U-turn allowing it to pivot on defensive switch-ins (Remove this or split the sentence into two; it's too wordy) lets Roaring Moon break down opposing teams and bring its teammates into favorable matchups as well. (Taunt could be worth mentioning)

(Add something like Fast pivot/Revenge killer/Speed control)

**Sun Abuser**: Protosynthesis lets Roaring Moon be an effective threat on sun teams. Combining a Protosynthesis boost with Choice band allows Roaring Moon to have almost a free Dragon Dance when in under sun. Roaring Moon can also use setup under sun, (ac) making use of the Protosynthesis boost to further boost its damage output or speed, (ac) while holding an additional damage boosting item. (This isn't a role. You could move parts of this paragraph to the intro or draft strategy sections)

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Crunch, Knock Off, Throat Chop, Crunch, Outrage, Dragon Claw, Scale Shot

**Setup moves**: Dragon Dance

**Utility moves**: U-turn, Roost, Substitute, Taunt

**Coverage**: Acrobatics, Earthquake, Brick Break, Fire Fang, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Zen Headbutt

Niche Moves
========
**Jaw Lock**: Jaw Lock is a niche option that can allow Roaring Moon to trap a passive Pokemon on the field with it, (ac) to allow allowing it to set (as) up freely. (ap)

(Could add Dragon Tail / Roar to stop some special attackers from setting up)

Common Items
========
**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy is one of the best items for Roaring Moon to use. (Explain why it's one of the best and how it contributes to Roaring Moon's roles on a team) I It can viably boost both either Attack and or Speed, (ac) depending on what the matchup requires. This also enables Roaring Moon to effectively use Acrobatics, (ac) which can be a great coverage move.

**Choice Band**: Boosting a 137 massive Attack stat even further, (ac) Choice Band lets Roaring Moon be an amazing wallbreaker, (ac) spamming Knock Off and other powerful stab STAB moves to weaken opposing teams. (Mention U-turn)

(Add Choice Scarf here)

**Attack Boosting Items Damage-boosting items**: Since Roaring Moon gets access to a solid array of coverage moves, (ac) Expert Belt is always a solid option. Items like Black Glasses or Life Orb are also reasonable option options to increase damage output without having to hit super-effectively. (Move to niche, rephrase the section to focus less on expert belt and explain why you would use them over booster/choice)

**Lum Berry**: As a physical sweeper attacker, (ac) being able to avoid burns is always nice. (rs) Lum Berry can also enable Outrage by curing Confusion after the move has finished. (Move to niche, mention paralysis as well, and explain that you only need this when you expect those statuses to be a problem)

Niche Items
========
**Clear Amulet**: When facing Intimidate or parting Parting Shot users, (ac) Clear Amulet can be useful to maintain you attack a boosted Attack stat and prevent switches from Parting Shot.

(Add Sitrus Berry, Leftovers, Heavy-Duty Boots, Assault Vest, and Loaded Dice here)

Tera
========
Roaring Moon is near universally banned as a Tera Captain, (ac) so if it is allowed, (ac) please make it a captain. (Expand this section. I know it's always Tera banned, but we're supposed to talk about its options anyways. See the Tera guidelines and previously uploaded analyses for help)

Draft Strategy
========
When drafting Roaring Moon, (ac) it is important to thing think about partners that enable Roaring Moon's ability to get in and deal damage. While is has amazing stats, (ac) Roaring Moon still has difficulty just beating a team 100 to 0. (No pokemon is going to be beating a team 100 to 0; rephrase this) Things like reliable entry hazard support and solid pivots to get Roaring Moon on the field in favorable matchups go a long way in helping Roaring Moon reach its maximum potential.

**Sun Setters**: Sun can greatly boost the damage output and sweeping potential of Roaring Moon, (ac) and should always be a consideration when you draft it. (Move to the bottom or remove; Roaring Moon enjoys sun but definitely doesn't need it)

**Slow Pivots**: Pokemon like Slowking or Iron Hands (Hands doesn't want to be clicking volt switch most of the time. Replace with something like Corviknight or Scizor) that can pivot slowly, (ac) allowing Roaring Moon be on the field in more favorable matchups and avoiding damage, (ac) are some of the best ways to help Roaring Moon apply pressure to opposing teams. (Split into multiple sentences; this one is way too long)

**Entry Hazard Support**: Being a setup sweeper any (Roaring Moon isn't always a setup sweeper and hazards can help all of its sets) Any extra damage helps in enabling Roaring Moon,. (rc)(ap) in In addition, (ac) since Roaring Moon is one of the best Knock Off users in draft, (ac) it can even help itself by removing pesky Heavy-Duty Boots from opponents.

(I would add sections about bulkier allies and special attackers. Fairy-type counters too)

Checks and Counters
========
**Fairy- and Steel-types**: While individually, (ac) Roaring Moon has coverage for both of these types individually, (ac) many teams pair these types together, (ac) and Roaring Moon can find it difficult to fit moves to hit both defensive types for super- (ah) effective damage. (What can it do about them if it can't fit those moves? Expand this section to include counterplay)

**Priority**: Roaring moon Moon has a good HP stat and solid Special Defense, (ac) but its Defense leaves much to be desired,. (rc)(ap) because Because of this, (ac) priority can be one of the best ways to deal with Roaring Moon, (ac) such as Bullet Punch from a Scizor or Ice Shard from Weavile. (Add counterplay. I'd also rework this section to encompass all revenge killers, not just priority. Things like scarf meowscarada can still scare it)

I'd also rework this section to encompass all revenge killers, not just priority. Things like scarf meowscarada can still scare it)

[overview]
**Draft order**: Round 2 onward

**Price range**: 15-16 points

**Overview**: Roaring Moon is one of the fastest and best setup sweepers in draft. Combining a base 119 Speed and 139 Attack great Speed and Attack (we don't put dex info like specific stat values in the analysis) with solid bulk and good coverage and Protosynthesis Roaring moon is a threatening setup sweeper. Even when not setting up Roaring Moon can be a terrifying wallbreaker using Knock Off to disrupt remove opponent's items and punching holes in teams with solid coverage. Because of its ability Protosynthesis, Roaring Moon also fits very well on sun teams allowing it to be less reliant on Booster Energy. Not much wants to get hit by a Choice Band Roaring Moon with a Protosynthesis boost in Attack. Even with all of these great traits Roaring Moon can struggle versus faster physical threats and can run into difficulty because of phasing phazing moves.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Setup sweeper**: Combining Booster Energy, strong STAB attacks, and coverage moves allows Roaring Moon to threaten opponents out and create opportunities for itself to setup. Thanks to is special bulk, Roost can also fit on these sets, allowing Roaring Moon to stay healthy and setup further.

**Wallbreaker**: Roaring Moon can use its high base Attack to be an immediate threat to teams even without setup. Thanks to Its easily spammable STAB moves Roaring Moon can wear down opposing teams and force many switches. It can take advantage of the switches it forces by using U-turn to bring teammates in better matchups.

**Revenge Killer**: Because of its naturally high speed Roaring Moon can have much success as a revenge killer. Utilizing items like Choice Scarf or Booster Energy Roaring Moon can be great speed control forcing many opponents out and regaining momentum.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Knock Off, Crunch, Throat Chop, Outrage, Dragon Claw, Scale Shot

**Setup moves**: Dragon Dance

**Utility moves**: U-turn, Roost, Substitute, Taunt

**Coverage**: Acrobatics, Earthquake, Brick Break, Fire Fang, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Zen Headbutt, X-Scissor, Thunder Fang

Niche Moves
========
**Jaw Lock**: Jaw Lock is a niche option that can allow Roaring Moon to trap a passive Pokemon on the field with it allowing it to setup freely

Would add Dragon Tail / Roar, as they can be useful for bulky RM sets that aim to use its good special bulk to check dangerous attackers.

Common Items
========
**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy is one of the best items for Roaring Moon to use. I It can viably boost both Attack and Speed depending on what the matchup requires. This also enables Roaring Moon to effectively use Acrobatics which can be a great coverage move.

**Choice Band**: Boosting a 137 Attack even further (this is just unnecessary fluff) Choice Band lets Roaring Moon be an amazing wallbreaker spamming Knock Off and other powerful stab moves to weaken opposing teams and pivoting on defensive switch-ins with U-turn.

**Choice Scarf**: When speed control is needed more reliably than a single Booster Energy activation Choice Scarf allows Roaring Moon to be a speedy threat for the duration of the game. it also enables Roaring Moon to function a as a highly effective revenge killer.

Niche Items
========
**Damage-boosting Items**: When the immediate threat of Booster Energy, Choice Band,, (remove extra comma) or Choice Scarf is less necessary, (ac) damage-boosting items are highly effective options on Roaring Moon. By boosting damage consistently throughout a match these items can enable Roaring Moon to hit important damage thresholds without the one time use drawbacks of Booster Energy or the move lock of Choice items.

**Clear Amulet**: When facing Intimidate or Parting Shot users Clear Amulet can be useful to maintain a boosted Attack stat and prevent switches from Parting Shot.

**Lum Berry**: As a physical attacker, being able to avoid burns is always nice. Lum Berry can also enable Outrage by curing Confusion after the move has finished.

**Assault Vest**: Due to its naturally high special bulk Roaring Moon can be an effective user of Assault vest allowing it to be a soft check to many special threats.

**Loaded Dice**: Scale Shot is solid move in Roaring Moon's arsenal and Loaded Dice allows for more consistent damage output when using it.

**Leftovers**: Extra longevity through passive healing can do a lot for Roaring Moon especially if it going to be on the battlefield for many turns, or is taking on a bulkier role in a team.

**Heavy-Duty Boost**: When facing teams with a lot of entry hazard support Heavy-Duty Boots can be a valuable item for preserving health on Roaring Moon allowing it be be effective throughout a game.
Tera
========
Roaring Moon is near universally banned as a Tera Captain since the ability to change its type to a favorable matchup gives is near unparalleled setup abilities. Using tera to create setup opportunities like becoming Poison-type or Steel-type in front of a Fairy-type is one of the best ways for Roaring Moon to use Terastalization. Tera can also be used to boos boost the power of coverage moves like combining Tera Flying with acrobatics. If Roaring Moon is available as a Tera Captain it is a viable early to mid round 1 pick and should be the centerpiece of your draft.

Draft Strategy
========
When drafting Roaring Moon it is important to thing think about partners that enable Roaring Moon's ability to get in and deal damage. While it has amazing stats and access to great setup moves (I would put setup options here instead of moves, as RM only has 1 setup move in DD) Roaring Moon can still struggle getting through a team on its own. Things like reliable entry hazard support and solid pivots to get Roaring Moon on the field in favorable matchups go a long way in helping Roaring Moon reach its maximum potential.

**Bulky Pivots**: Roaring Moon never wants to be switching out, (ac) but if it is, (ac) Pokemon like Slowking or Corviknight that can take hits and pivot back into Roaring Moon are greta great partners. By using these partners roaring Moon can safely avoid damage and get back on the field in a more advantageous position.

**Fairy-type Answers**: One of Roaring Moon's biggest weaknesses is Fairy-type Pokemon and attacks. Pokemon like Scizor or Gholdengo that can switch into Fairy-type moves and threaten Fairy-types make great partners for Roaring Moon.

**Entry Hazard Support**: Any extra damage helps in enabling Roaring Moon. In addition, since Roaring Moon is one of the best Knock Off users in draft, it can even help itself by removing pesky Heavy-Duty Boots from opponents.

**Special Attackers**: Having teammates like Landorus or Enamorus that can force in specially defensive Pokemon and then pivot into Roaring Moon or vice versa help maximize the wallbreaking potential of all of the Pokemon on your team each other's wallbreaking potential. (sentence felt too generic, as not every pokemon on your team is going to have wallbreaking potential, and they're not always going to have good synergy with RM)

**Sun Setters**: Sun can greatly boost the damage output and sweeping potential of Roaring Moon and should always be a consideration when you draft it.

Checks and Counters
========
**Fairy- and Steel-types**: While individually Roaring Moon has coverage for both of these types, many teams pair these types together and Roaring Moon can find it difficult to fit moves to hit both defensive types for super effective damage. Give some examples of fairy / steel types that can check RM, since not all of them can. Having teammates that can help wear down these types of Pokemon can help open up the game for Roaring Moon

**Priority/Fast revenge killers**: Roaring Moon has a good HP stat and solid Special Defense but its Defense leaves much to be desired. Because of this priority can be one of the best ways to deal with Roaring Moon such as Bullet Punch from a Scizor or Ice Shard from Weavile. Even Pokemon without priority that are naturally faster than Roaring Moon like Meowscarada or Greninja can be threats to revenge kill Roaring Moon even if it has a speed boost. Usually getting a second boost in speed, whether through Protosynthesis or a second Dragon Dance, can help limit these issues, but keeping Roaring Moon as healthy as possible is the best way to avoid these problems.

Would add a section about strong physically defensive walls here, as they can check roaring moon and either KO it, cripple it or phaze it out. Stuff like dondozo, a physically bulky ting-lu, gliscor, etc. Even something like great tusk can still take a booster energy +1 acrobatics and ohko it back.

Tera
========
Roaring Moon is near-universally (AH) banned as a Tera Captain, (AC) since the ability to change its type to a favorable matchup gives is it near unparalleled setup abilities ability. Using tera Tera to create setup opportunities like becoming Poison-type (keep the hyphen) or Steel-type in front of a Fairy-type is one of the best ways for Roaring Moon to use Terastalization Terastallization. A pair like Corvinkight Corviknight (RC) and Azumarill can both threaten Roaring Moon, (AC) and it is very difficult to fit coverage for both Pokemon into a single Roaring Moon set. Having teammates that can help wear down these types of Pokemon can help open up the game for Roaring Moon. (AP)

**Priority Moves/Fast revenge killers Revenge Killers**: Roaring Moon has a good HP stat and solid Special Defense, (AC) but its Defense leaves much to be desired. Because of this, (AC) priority moves can be one of the best ways to deal with Roaring Moon, (AC) such as Bullet Punch from a Scizor or Ice Shard from Weavile. Even Pokemon without priority moves that are naturally faster than Roaring Moon, (AC) like Meowscarada or Greninja, (AC) can be threats threaten to revenge kill Roaring Moon even if it has a speed Speed boost. Usually, (AC) getting a second boost in speed Speed can help limit these issues (moved to improve flow), whether through Protosynthesis or a second Dragon Dance, can help limit these issues, but keeping Roaring Moon as healthy as possible is the best way to avoid these problems.

**Physically defensive Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon like Dondozo, Gliscor, and Great Tusk, (AC) among other strong defensive walls, (AC) can be difficult for Roaring Moon to take down. They are effective because they are able to live survive a hit from Roaring Moon and either phaze it out or cripple it with status or damage. Having strong wallbreakers or entry hazard support that can wear these opponents foes down is one of the best ways to circumvent these threats.

**Leftovers**: Extra longevity through passive healing can do a lot for Roaring Moon, (AC) especially if it it's going to be on the battlefield for many turns (RC) or is taking on a bulkier role in a team.

**Heavy-Duty Boost Boots**: When facing teams with a lot of entry hazard support, (AC) Heavy-Duty Boots can be a valuable item for preserving health on Roaring Moon, (AC) allowing it be to be effective throughout a game.

Tera
========
Tera can also be used to boost the power of coverage moves, like combining Tera Flying with acrobatics Acrobatics. If Roaring Moon is available as a Tera Captain, (AC) it is a viable early to mid-round (AH) 1 pick and should be the centerpiece of your draft.

Draft Strategy
========
When drafting Roaring Moon, (AC) it is important to think about partners that enable Roaring Moon's ability to get in and deal damage. While it has amazing stats and access to great setup options, (AC) Roaring Moon can still struggle getting through a team on its own. Things like reliable entry hazard support and solid pivots to get Roaring Moon on the field in favorable matchups go a long way in helping Roaring Moon reach its maximum potential.

**Bulky Pivots**: Roaring Moon never wants to be switching out, but if it is, Pokemon like Slowking or and Corviknight that can take hits and pivot back into Roaring Moon are great partners. By using these partners, (AC) roaring Roaring Moon can safely avoid damage and get back on the field in a more advantageous position.

**Fairy-type Answers**: One of Roaring Moon's biggest weaknesses is Fairy-type Pokemon and attacks. Pokemon like Scizor or and Gholdengo that can switch into Fairy-type moves and threaten Fairy-types make great partners for Roaring Moon.

**Entry Hazard Support**: Any extra damage helps in enabling Roaring Moon. In addition, since Roaring Moon is one of the best Knock Off users in draft Draft, it can even help itself by removing pesky Heavy-Duty Boots from opponents foes.

**Special Attackers**: Having teammates like Landorus or Enamorus that can force in specially defensive Pokemon and then pivot into Roaring Moon or vice versa help helps maximize each other's wallbreaking potential.

**Sun Setters**: Sun can greatly boost the damage output and sweeping potential of Roaring Moon and should always be a consideration when you draft it.

Checks and Counters
========
**Fairy- and Steel-types**: While individually Roaring Moon has coverage for both of these types, many teams pair these types together, (AC) and Roaring Moon can find it difficult to fit moves to hit both defensive types for super effective damage.

No problem. I agree that the capitalization isn't consistent with previous draft posts, but I think it's against GP standards and that either the draft analyses on the site will be changed at some point to comply or we'll adopt a specific standard to keep it. Wanted to go with standards for the time being.

Because of its ability, (ac) Protosynthesis, Roaring Moon also fits very well on sun teams, allowing it to be less reliant on Booster Energy. Not much wants to get hit by a Choice Band Roaring Moon with a Protosynthesis boost in Attack. Even with all of these great traits, Roaring Moon can struggle against faster physical threats and can run into difficulty because of phazing moves.

Common Roles
========
**Setup sweeper**: Combining Booster Energy, strong STAB attacks, and coverage moves allows Roaring Moon to threaten foes out and create opportunities for itself to setup set up.

**Revenge killer**: Because of its naturally high Speed, Roaring Moon can have much good success as a revenge killer. Utilizing items like Choice Scarf or Booster Energy, Roaring Moon can be great speed control, forcing many foes out and regaining momentum.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Knock Off, Crunch, Throat Chop, Outrage, Dragon Claw, Scale Shot

**Setup moves**: Dragon Dance

**Utility moves**: U-turn, Roost, Substitute, Taunt

**Coverage**: Acrobatics, Earthquake, Brick Break, Fire Fang, Iron Head, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Zen Headbutt, X-Scissor, Thunder Fang

Niche Moves
========
**Jaw Lock**: Jaw Lock is a niche option that can allow lets Roaring Moon to trap a passive Pokemon on the field, allowing it to set up freely. (AP)

**Phazing moves**: Dragon Tail or Roar can be used to phaze foes on bulkier sets that aim to take advantage of Roaring Moon's special bulk in order to check special threats.

Common Items
========
**Booster Energy**: Booster Energy can viably boost Attack or Speed depending on what the matchup requires. This also enables Roaring Moon to effectively use Acrobatics, which can be a great coverage move.

**Choice Band**: Choice Band lets Roaring Moon be an amazing wallbreaker, spamming Knock Off and other powerful STAB moves to weaken opposing teams and pivoting using U-turn to pivot out on defensive switch-ins with U-turn.

**Choice Scarf**: When speed control is needed more reliably than a single Booster Energy activation, Choice Scarf allows Roaring Moon to be a speedy threat for the duration of the game. It also enables Roaring Moon to function as a highly effective revenge killer.

Niche Items
========
**Damage-boosting items**: When the immediate threat of need for Booster Energy, Choice Band, or Choice Scarf is less necessary pretty sure this is what you meant, but if not @ me on discord, damage-boosting items are highly effective options on for Roaring Moon. By boosting damage consistently throughout a match, these items can enable Roaring Moon to hit important damage thresholds without the one-time use drawbacks drawback of Booster Energy or the move Choice-lock of from Choice items.

**Clear Amulet**: When facing Intimidate or Parting Shot users, Clear Amulet can be useful to maintain a boosted Attack stat and prevent switches from Parting Shot.

**Lum Berry**: As a physical attacker, being able to avoid burns is always nice. Lum Berry can also enable Outrage by curing its confusion after the move has finished.
