Rate of the Month
RotM is a project that looks to bring quality individual rates into the spotlight and recognise the hard work of unbadged raters.

Concept
  • Every month, official Team Raters will monitor the rates posted in their respective tiers.
  • A few will be chosen that the RMT staff feel exemplify the qualities of an excellent rate.
  • These rates will be posted in this thread, along with a paragraph explaining why the particular rate won. This will allow aspiring raters to gain an idea of what constitutes high-quality rates, and hopefully incorporate those aspects into their own rates.
  • Official Team Raters are eligible to win, but unbadged raters will have priority.
Prizes
  • Winners will earn a place in the Hall of Fame, which will be kept in the OP of every thread, and will earn more consideration for the Ladybug
    and Team Rater
    badges.
  • After gaining three places in the Hall of Fame, a rater will be eligible to earn voice status in the RMT room on PS! on the condition that they've shown an interest in getting involved.
We hope that this project will encourage people to put more effort into their rates and become better and more experienced raters, consequently increasing the quality of rates posted in the forum. Good luck to you all!

Hey, let's congratulate Indigo Plateau and vso for winning Rate of the Month for July!

Indigo Plateau starts off his rate with a list of all the threats of the team, including Psychic Spam, Grass Spam, Dark-Types in Hoopa-U and Tyranitar, Tapu Koko and Tornadus-T. He then suggests two major changes, the first one being Clefable over Mew. Clefable provides the team with a more reliable Stealth Rocker as well as Wish user, which lets it support the likes of Landorus-T and Heatran. His second major change is to replace Tapu Fini with Ferrothorn which provides the team with both a Spikes user and a check to Tapu Koko, Grass Spam, Psychic Spam, and non-Heat Wave Tornadus-T.

IP finishes his rate by replacing Draco Meteor with Ice Beam on Mega Latios which helps it hit the likes of Gliscor. He also makes Heatran Steelium Z which lets it break through Zygarde and Mega Alakazam, the latter being a threat for the team. His last change is to make Landorus-T Defog which is always great to have in case hazards become too annoying.

vso's rate starts off with an introduction where he mentions key threats such as Psychic Spam in Mega Alakazam and Tapu Lele, Steel-Types in Mega Scizor and Celesteela, Rain, and Fire-Types in Volcarona and Mega Charizard Y. His first suggestion is to replace Mega Latios for Toxapex which provides a lot of defensive utilities to the team. It counters both Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona that lack Psychic, and helps check Mega Scizor and Celesteela. Toxapex also supports Tapu Bulu by removing Toxic Spikes as well as being a second check to Rain and Protean Greninja. Lastly, Toxapex can Toxic the likes of Mega Alakazam and Tapu Lele on the switch which put them on timer.

vso's last suggestion is to change Tornadus-T's spread to a more defensive one, which helps against offensive Lando-T, Kartana and Tapu Bulu. The speed drop also allows Tornadus-T to slow U-Turn to bring in the wallbreakers.

Keep it up as always :swole:
