National Dex Rate my gen 9 nat dex team

Ever since walking wake came out I have been using this team. Rain teams with swampert are annoying and take forever to take down. Got any suggestions?

https://pokepast.es/31a5f1629aafb3f3

Better Call Saul (Dragapult) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
- Hydro Pump

Dragapult is pretty frail, so I gave it Focus Sash to survive super effective hits, then faint the opponent.
I decided to use Thunderbolt over a dragon move because thunderbolt could deal with rain teams and Pokemon like Pelipper.
Flamethrower is nice cause I can hit grass types super effectively. Thats about it, Hydro Pump and Shadow Ball for general damage.

Solid Snake (Walking Wake) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dragon Pulse
- Hydro Steam
- Flamethrower
- Tera Blast

Tera steel and Tera blast can usually OHKO the fairy types that try to kill it, plus it resists both its original weaknesses.
I’m using a sun team, so I use Hydro Steam over Hydro Pump.
I made its speed higher than its Special Attack so it can outspeed threats.
Dragon Pulse over Draco Meteor because I don’t want to have my Special Attack halved and need to switch.

Queengambit (Kingambit) (F) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 68 SpD / 188 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Kowtow Cleave
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

While playing I found that if I Sucker Punched and the other Pokemon also Sucker Punched, the faster pokemon moves first and hits, but the slower Pokemon moves second and fails. Not really important, just wanted to share that. Anyway, its role is to basically just deal damage. It is that simple, and I don’t really have other reasons. Just an attacking Pokemon.

Skylar White (Diancie-Mega) @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Dazzling Gleam
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power
- Mystical Fire

Dazzling Gleam makes fighting types go boom and it is generally just a strong Pokemon. Although I do not like how it just dies to a single super effective move.
Mystical Fire can kill many steel types going to kill it, and while Ferrothorn might not die in one hit from it, a Ferrothorn switching in will take enough damage to get into OHKO range. Earth Power because I hate bulky ground weak pokemon.

Oogway (Torkoal) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Drought
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 12 HP / 100 Atk / 164 Def / 232 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
- Yawn
- Rapid Spin

Torkoal is able to deal damage, remove hazards, and set up sun.
Torkoal doesn’t learn moves like U-turn or Volt Switch, so I decided to settle for Yawn, as it pretty much meant a safe switch into Walking Wake as they would usually also be switching, and heavy duty boots prevents hazards from wearing it down each switch in

Filthy Frank (Dragonite) (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Dance
- Defog
- Ice Spinner

Defog is something that I should probably remove and replace with Roost. Dragonite is very strong. It can Tera and get STAB Extreme Speed,
Ice Spinner can usually OHKO a dragon type,
And Defog removes hazards.

I need a grass move.

Hey, welcome to national dex! You've got a pretty good offensive presence going on, but it could benefit from a better defensive backbone.

Major Changes:

:landorus-therian: over :torkoal:

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Defog
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Toxic
Apart from enabling wake slightly, Torkoal doesn't do anything notable for your team, as it's damage output is pretty meager. Landorus-T, on the other hand, gives an alternative for hazard removal that compresses a check to most physical attackers, an electric and ground immunity, and an important pivot for your team in one slot.

:tornadus-therian: over :dragonite:
Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 244 HP / 48 SpD / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
- Heat Wave
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Hurricane
As it stands, your current team is incredibly weak to special attackers, notably moonblast spam from lele and valiant. AV torn is great role compression that can pivot into these attackers, cripple teams with knock off and check mega scizor in a pinch with tera water and heat wave.

Minor Changes:

Better Call Saul (Dragapult) (M) @ Focus Sash Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
Tera Type: Fairy Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Hydro Pump U-Turn

While it may be tempting to use Focus Sash for survivability, the prominence of hazards means that dragapult is better off maximising its power, which can be done with a choice specs set and tera ghost to boost shadow ball. Draco meteor still allows you to slam pelipper if necessary, and u-turn gives consistent pivoting into your other wallbreakers.

Solid Snake (Walking Wake) @ Assault Vest Choice Specs or Firium Z
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Steel Water
EVs: 12 Def / 244 SpA / 252 Spe 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dragon Pulse
- Hydro Steam
- Flamethrower
- Tera Blast Hydro Pump OR Sunny Day

These Walking Wake sets are generally suited better for the metagame. Choice specs is a more reliable set that maximises your damage output, but a firium Z set with sunny day can be interesting as a late-game cleaner, as Z-sunny day boosts your speed alongside the protosynthesis boost from Sun.

Skylar White (Diancie-Mega) @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Dazzling Gleam Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power Remove one of these moves for stealth rock, keep the other
- Mystical Fire

Your team lacks stealth rock, and diancie is the best fit for it. Moonblast is also just objectively a better move than dazzling gleam.

New Team:
https://pokepast.es/5590c022d4072774 (with sunny day wake and myst dia)

Thats basically it! I hope you have a good time with this tier and good luck with your new team!
