Voting phase!

Its been a long week and I apologize for the delay, but its finally time for the last voting phase of this season of PU Matchmaking!
As always, the submissions helped showcase ways in which Dod and its partner could create some great defensive or offensive synergy, but this time it seems as if most of the cores were offensive, helping pressure common threats so Dod or its partner could win in the end game. So without further ado, submit your votes and one final time, thank you all for the great submissions! (:

Congrats to uhuhuhu7 for winning the final week of PU Matchmaking pairing Dodrio with Tangela! For second place there was a tie between gum and Oathkeepre, with their respective Ludicolo and Gurdurr noms! The votes for this final one were super close and I appreciate everyone who assisted via submitting and/or voting!

WINNER!

It pleasures me to name gum this season's PU's Top Cupid, achieving a win with 12 points. Gum was consistent w her nominations every week, always providing insightful background and explanations into her pairings. Thank you so much for assisting with this through the whole experience. :)

Also I was just counting the amount of times each mon was submitted during these 10 weeks and the most submitted mon was:

◓ ︵ ╯(°□°╯)

Seems appropiate, huh?

Ty sketchy ecchi for the silly emote thingies.

I can only hope that this was a somewhat insightful experience that granted users with some creative cores and ideas for building. The meta now has completely changed but the info in this thread regarding the noms will remain as a reminder of a very fun period in the PU meta, that will hopefully help someone along the way. A huge shoutout to PTF for granting me with this experience and for allowing me to enter this wonderful community through the thread during his time as a host. :)

Id also like to thank all of the users who submitted through the weeks, the thread wouldnt exist if it wasnt for all of you: PhantomHurious, gum, Oathkeepre, Scizorphobic, uhuhuhu7, Sir Pin, jonago, Ranbu No Melody, Twilight, j0gurt, SBPC, orangebeedrill, Specs, yogi, Squash17 ^_^, Drop That Volbeat, INSANE CARZY GUY, rudyr1, Toy Time King, BurmaAlex, tlenit1, Violet Riachu, royesk. Finally wanna thank the people who voted, theyre simply too many but you know who you are and yall made this possible as well!

Thats about it! The archive is fully updated with all of the pairings. While the meta has changed theres still many of these same Pokemon that can compliment each other in many ways, so feel free to explore them and see for yourself the great work that these users put into the thread!

Hello, hello, hello lovebirds! I'm hosting Matchmaking for the next few weeks.

This instalment of Matchmaking will go for five weeks. Users will post their best matches to the mons and compete for the title of PU's Next Top Cupid and share the title with our former reigning KellyKafka and our current reigning gum.

Season 3 - Week One

Ferroseed

Ferroseed is PU's newest addition to the tier. It is known for being an excellent hazard setter and a defensive wall thanks to its good typing. Let's give a warm welcome to Ferroseed and match it up with some other mons!

99% of the time, Ferroseed is there to put up Stealth Rocks, Spikes, or Leech Seed. It's just going to be tough to do so when Fighting types and Fire types are running around. Jellicent deals with the likes of Gurdurr, Hitmonchan, Primeape, Simisear, and Combusken.

Lanturn @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 40 HP / 220 Def / 248 SpD
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Scald
- Toxic
- Heal Bell

Lanturn serves as an excellent partner for the recently dropped Ferroseed, as Lanturn can absorb most importantly Fire type atacks, which are a troublesome for Ferroseed as Ferroseed is 4x weak to Fire Attacks,
also Lanturn serves as a true flying resist with its secondary typing in electric and can absorb flying type moves for Ferroseed pretty well.
A slow Volt-Switch is also nice to have for Ferroseed as it can come in and set Spikes / Rocks again and be annoying in general for the opposing team. Ferroseed also likes Heal bell as it offers it a bit more longevity
due to possible burns furthermore it can help Ferroseed in case it should get paralyzed for some reason.
Toxic on the other hand can help to wear down mons like Calm Mind Oricorio-Pom Pom, which Ferroseed struggles with and Lanturn can absorb its Revelation Dances and gains Health back due to its amazing Ability in
Volt Absorb, whereas Ferroseed can offer a grass-type switchin and can also dent decently well rock and ground type moves.
Ferroseed also resists many moves, which are normal effective on Lanturn like Fairy, Psychic, Dragon and Normal.
In general this core offers a good synergy as they cancel out each other weaknesses pretty well and can support each other and also the rest
of the team with hazard stacks and a slow Volt-Switch and also the funtion as a status remover with Heal Bell.

EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD

Sassy Nature

Silvally-Fairy provides Ferroseed with a sponge for the fighting types of the tier, checking the likes of Gurdurr and Primeape that Ferroseed has troubles with, especially thanks to a more defensive spread. Roar prevents Gurdurr from setting up on you and helps spread around damage via the Spikes that Ferroseed sets up. Thunderbolt lets Silvally-Fairy pressure Qwilfish, who likes Taunting both it and Ferroseed, rendering the latter helpless.
In return, Ferroseed sponges up hits from special attackers, stacks hazards, and provides Silvally-Fairy with psuedo-recovery in the form of Leech Seed.
Also, as a pairing they both put a lot of pressure on Guzzlord - Spikes chip, a Dragon immunity, a Poison immunity and Steel resist, the only thing Guzzlord can really safely click is Fire Blast making it somewhat easier to play around especially if it's Specs.

Ferro resist to the electric and psychic type, which destroy qwilfish, and qwil resist to the fighting and fire type. The core allows to stack the eh very easily and abuse to Rh/iron barbs vs the spinners

Clefairy is a great partner of ferroseed because ferro covers the weaknesses of clefairy, can be alternated in the defenses besides that they are a great team putting Hazards, Clefairy helps ferrosed spikes since it helps him putting rocks and Counterattating the Fighting type that constantly threaten Ferro unfortunately can not help ferro with Fire type if it is not with the rocks but that does not take away the good ferro cmpalñero that is
