After Appletun was freed from PUBL, it immediately became an excellent offensive pivot that takes advantage of PU's very common Ground-types. Apple Acid allows Appletun to easily break through special walls such as Lickilicky, Mawile, and Assault Vest Hitmonchan. Draco Meteor can OHKO threatening offensive Pokemon such as Unfezant and Pinsir, and Eject Pack preserves momentum by switching Appletun out after it uses Draco Meteor. Body Press gives Appletun a way to break through Klinklang, which ignores Apple Acid's Special Defense drops thanks to Clear Body, whereas Leech Seed is a less powerful but still effective alternative that helps keep it healthy. Appletun partners well with Fighting-types like Hitmonchan and Throh that appreciate it bringing them in safely against Klinklang and Type: Null. Klinklang and Lycanroc benefit from Appletun's ability to take on defensive Ground-types. Finally, Appletun shares lots of checks with Lilligant and can wear down walls for it to sweep.

Appletun's Draco Meteor can OHKO Grass resists that offensively threaten it such as Unfezant and Pinsir, preventing them from switching in. Eject Pack has the one-time effect of switching Appletun out afterwards (after using draco meteor) to preserve momentum. Apple Acid drops the opponent's Special Defense every use, so Appletun can easily break through special walls such as Lickilicky, Mawile, and AV Hitmonchan. (move this before u talk abt eject pack (u should also move that down) apple acid is part of what makes apple so good. put more emphasis on it, too) Appletun has good bulk and great resistances with Thick Fat; Recover gives it more staying power, letting Appletun comfortably eat neutral attacks all game (although it must look out for Toxic). Body Press gives it a way to break through Klinklang, which can ignore Apple Acid's special defense drops thanks to Clear Body; Leech Seed is a less powerful but still effective alternative, and Recycle is a niche option to let Appletun re-use its Eject Pack.

klink / lycanroc appreciate apple dealing with ground-types for them
