Introduction:

In this guide, I will be showing you how to transfer your favorite monsters from each of the core series games from Generation I all the way to Generation VIII. It is a long process, but once you have them, it will most definitely be worth the trouble. I will also be adding info about spin-off games as well as the various Pokemon you can obtain from them!

Generation I

Virtual Console Games:

  • Red
  • Blue
  • Yellow
Generation II
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Crystal

To transfer Pokemon from the Virtual Console (VC) games, you need to use the Poke Transporter and have Pokemon within your VC game. It will show the VC games you have on your 3DS system within the Transporter app. I will use Crystal as the example. Upon opening the app, it will say "Use this game." Wait while it connects. Once the app connects to your VC game, it will give you the warnings that Pokemon cannot be sent back and Pokemon that are holding items can't be moved. It will then say "Would you like to move this box?". Select yes on the bottom screen. A cool quirk with the VC games is that all of the Pokemon, if they have Hidden Abilities (HA), will have a HA when brought from the VC games. For example, Lugia, whose normal ability is Pressure, will have Multiscale!

After you have moved your Pokemon from the VC game into Pokemon Bank (the Transporter app will automatically place your Pokemon into Bank), select Pokemon Bank and have a Generation VII game, such as Sun or Moon, inserted into the slot. Select "Use Pokemon Bank" and then select "Use this game" to continue. Then select "Do not take any Battle Points or Poke Miles." Finally, press the L button to move to the Transporter Box, select your Pokemon, and then save to keep the changes you made!

Within the VC games, you can trade Pokemon via the Time Capsule. It can be found on the second floor of any Pokémon Center. The process is done through the VC menu on the lower screen, in which players can establish connections though a hosting system. In order to have it fully functional, the player must first have met Bill in Ecruteak City and waited 24 hours in the game's internal clock.

The restrictions to trading between Generation I and II are the following:
  1. You can't have any Generation II-exclusive Pokemon or eggs in your party.
  2. The Pokemon must not be holding any Mail.
  3. None of the Generation I Pokemon that are within your party can know any Generation II-exclusive moves. However, you can trade a Pokemon introduced in Generation I with a moveset that is only obtainable from Generation II so as long as the Pokemon and moves were introduced in Generation I.

Due to the lack of natures in Generations I and II, you can actually control the nature you get upon import into a later game by manipulating the amount of experience you have upon import, as shown here.

Generation III
  • Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire
  • FireRed and LeafGreen

Spin-off games:
  • XD: Gale of Darkness
  • Colosseum + Bonus Disc (ENG and JPN)
  • Pokemon Channel

These are the games that encompass Generation III, and you can trade Pokemon from the spin-off games to one of the core series, such as Emerald; you can go in reverse too. In order to get a Pokemon from either XD or Colosseum, you would need an item called the GameCube - Game Boy Advance Link Cable. To trade between RSE and FRLG, you also need the GBA Link Cable. The GBA Wireless Adapter can also be used to trade between FRLG and Emerald but cannot be used with Ruby and Sapphire. In order to trade from the GameCube games to a Generation III game, you must be in the post-game of both Colosseum and XD (Phenac City). The core games Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald require you to have entered the Hall of Fame in order to trade with XD. FireRed and LeafGreen require you to complete the Sevii Island side quest before being able to trade Pokemon from the Orre region.

Bonus Disc (ENG)

Exclusive to the English Colosseum Bonus Disc is the ability to obtain the Pokemon Jirachi. This Jirachi can be obtained an infinite number of times so long as the save file that is receiving it has not already used the disc. You will need the Nintendo GameCube - Game Boy Advance Link Cable, an English Ruby or Sapphire, and an empty spot in your party. You do not need to have a physical copy of Pokemon Colosseum to obtain Jirachi.

Bonus Disc (JPN)

Unfortunately, unlike the English Bonus Disc, the Japanese version needs a copy of Pokemon Colosseum in order to obtain the Pokemon Celebi. Another forced requirement is that this save file MUST have all 48 Shadow Pokemon purified. Furthermore, the disc can transfer up to 48 Celebi to any Japanese Game Boy Advance Pokemon game as long as the player has beaten the Elite Four and saved in a Pokémon Center. A Pikachu is also available from the disc.

Pokemon Channel

In this game, you can obtain Jirachi. Despite it being called the "Wish Maker," it won't make any of your real wishes come true, but what it can make true is filling your Pokédex with its entry. Players can send Jirachi to either Ruby or Sapphire. After unlocking the full version of the Pichu Bros in Party Panic, Jirachi will appear and the mini-movie will be shown above a campfire. Due to a bug, this Jirachi can be shiny.

Generation IV
  • Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum
  • HeartGold and SoulSilver

Spin-off games
  • Pokemon Ranger
  • Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia
  • Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs
  • Pokemon Ranch
  • Battle Revolution
  • Pokewalker
The above games are part of the Generation IV core series and spin-off games. In order to migrate Pokemon to Generation IV, you need Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver. You also need a DS that has a GBA slot in it and to have seen all of the Pokemon in the Generation IV Pokedex in order to unlock the Pal Park. Then, you insert the GBA into the DS and go to the title menu of the Gen IV game. It should have an option to transfer Pokemon from Generation III to Generation IV. As a word of caution, please know that once you transfer these Pokemon to a new Generation, they can no longer be traded back, so please think carefully before migrating.

In order to migrate from Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald to HeartGold or SoulSilver, the player must have visited Fuchsia City (Kanto) at least once and have the National Pokédex. The migrate option will appear on the menu screen whenever the player has a GBA game inserted in the Nintendo DS's GBA slot, regardless of whether you have visited the Pal Park or not.

Please note that your Pokemon MUST not know Hidden Machine (HM) moves to be eligible for import. There is a 6 Pokemon requirement and a 24 hour waiting period when migrating Pokemon to Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. However, in HeartGold and SoulSilver, that restriction was lifted and you can migrate as much as you want in a single day. But let's say you don't have HeartGold or SoulSilver, is there a way to bypass this restriction? In fact, there is a way you can do so, and I will describe how below.

Pal Park Glitch:
To pull this glitch off you need the following:
  • 2 GBA Carts
  • A Nintendo DS
  • Time
  • The National Pokedex

To begin this glitch, we will be migrating Pokemon from LeafGreen, and Ruby is the extra cart we will be using to start the glitch. Thanks to Sephirona for the shorthand version of it:
  1. Change date on the DS
  2. Put Ruby in to get the "You are using a different DS" error and accept the adjustments
  3. Put LeafGreen in and use Pal Park
Note you do no have to use these specific games. Any combination of GBA games will work!

With Pokemon Ranger you can get the Mythical Pokemon Manaphy. It can be obtained through the Ranger Net by holding the following buttons: R, X, and Left. You would also need to have completed the game in order to gain access to the Ranger Net. After that you will need to enter a specific code depending on the region.

These codes in fact still work, but please be warned it can work if and ONLY if the Manaphy code has not been used on the cartridge, as it is a one time deal!

Below are the codes:
  • French
    DY4g-k28S-QB9F
  • German
    R3d4cv2S-WC7W
  • Italian
    FH38-fwD8-5S2a
  • United Kingdom
    Mg35-Cpb8-4FW8
  • Spanish
    C58f-t3WT-Vn79
  • United States
    P8M2-9D6F-43H7
After doing the Manaphy mission, you can transfer the Egg that you rescued to any Generation IV game. To do so, have the Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs game in one DS and Diamond/Pearl in the other and go to the "Check Egg" screen on the Ranger game. It should show the "send" option; click that and open up the other DS. It should, upon launch, notify you that you're picking up a signal from Pokemon Ranger. Select "Mystery Gift" then "Transmit" to receive the gift, and then "Get from a friend". On Guardian Signs, select "Transfer" and then "Yes!". From there, follow the on-screen instructions and then press the "Transfer" option, which will then finally transfer the Manaphy Egg to your desired game. Finally, go to any Poké Mart to claim it!

In the table below are the other Pokemon Ranger games along with their special Pokemon that you can transfer:

Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of AlmiaPokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs
Mission NameMission Name
Recover the Manaphy Egg!Deoxys and the Odd Temple!
Rescue the Kidnapped Riolu!Protect the Blue Sphere! - Manaphy
Liberate the Tower! - DarkraiInvestigate the Odd Eruption! - Heatran
Rescue the Lost Shaymin!

A little side note for the Deoxys Mission: the Deoxys that is encountered can be transferred an infinite number of times, but each of the core games can only receive each of the Deoxys formes once!

In Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, the Ranger Net does not need to be unlocked, as it is by default, but the missions need to be downloaded and are no longer available.

To transfer from Guardian Signs, select "Ranger Net" and then "Send a Pokemon." It will then bring up a list of the Pokemon you can transfer to any of the Generation IV games! Select the desired Pokemon and have either DPP/HGSS inserted into another DS system, and it will send out a request for a trainer to care for the rescued Pokemon. Select "Mystery Gift" then select "Transmit" to receive the gift, and finally "Get from a friend." On Guardian Signs, select "Transfer" and then "Yes!". Go to any Poké Mart to claim your gift!

Pokemon Ranch:

In Pokemon Ranch, you can get Phione and Mew. Once you get 250 Pokemon on the Ranch, it will expand a level. Hayley will then ask for Leafeon, and once you can bring one over, she will offer Phione. After you get 999 Pokemon in the Ranch, it will expand and jump to level 255, the maximum level. Once this level is obtained, a new Pokemon will be added. Hayley is now asking for any Pokemon Egg, and once you bring it to the Ranch, she will give you Mew.

Battle Revolution:

In Pokemon Battle Revolution, there are a few special Pokemon that you can receive from the game that can be moved to any Generation IV game. Upon the defeat of Poketopia Master Mysterial for the first time, a Pikachu will become available for download in the shop (Battle Revolution in-game shop). This Pikachu will know the following moves: Volt Tackle, Surf, Tail Whip, and Thunder Wave. It will also be holding a Light Ball and is a Hardy nature. In order to transfer Pikachu to Generation IV, you simply go to the DPP or HGSS title menu screen and select the Mystery Gift option.

Electivire:

Electivire, along with the Gold Pass, can be unlocked with the following codes at the "Self-introduction" option in the profile menu. They are case sensitive and only work when exiting the profile menu:

RegionCode
USBA16-X4SH-E2AT
UKtko3-9jwp-34kl
Francejk4i-df87-dsf9
Spain04in-1ynj-24fv
Germany0f9-ud0g-ughj
Italyt4oi-6j8d-sb5r

This Electivire will have an Adamant nature and possess the following moves: Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Cross Chop, and Earthquake. It will be holding the Magnet item.

Magmortar:
Magmortar has the same requirements as Electivire but comes with the Silver Pass instead of the Gold Pass. Please use the following code depending on your region:

RegionCode
USB416-X4HT-VTWF
UKjl49-05kn-odnv
France13io-h4rf-1tpa
Spainkn34-q0uc-1mbx
Germanykre9-ef90-5hgn
Italy97ea-78hl-jrgu

Magmortar will have a Modest nature and will be holding the Charcoal item. It will know the following moves: Flamethrower, Psychic, Hyper Beam, and Solar Beam.

Pokewalker

With the Pokewalker you can obtain some rare Pokemon, such as Spiritomb. To transfer Pokemon from the Pokewalker to your HeartGold or SoulSilver game, place the Pokewalker about 2 inches from your game card, facing each other. Select "Connect to Pokewalker" from the main menu of HeartGold or SoulSilver, then click "Receive a Gift" to move the Pokemon you captured during your stroll into your boxes.

Restrictions

There is one unique thing with Generation IV when some Pokemon know HM moves upon transfer to Generation V. For example, Zapdos can learn the HM Defog in Sinnoh but can have it as a normal move in a later Generation. Now normally, you cannot migrate Pokemon that know HMs, but if you trade it to HeartGold or SoulSilver, you can bypass this and move it up anyway! Another instance of this is Drifloon with Defog. It can learn it as an Egg Move starting from Generation V to Generation VII. There are more Pokemon like this, so remember that if it is an HM in the game you caught the Pokemon in, try to trade it to another game, such as a Pokemon with Whirlpool to Diamond or Pearl from HeartGold or SoulSilver.

Generation V
  • Black & White and Black 2 & White 2
In order to transfer Pokemon from Generation IV to V, you need to be in the post-game of Black or White (or Black 2 and White 2) and head to Route 15 to enter the Pokemon Transfer Lab. On another DS you will need to have the DS Download Play on and, if using a 3DS, pick the DS option for download play. Please know that your games MUST be of the same language. For example, Japanese Diamond can only transfer to a Japanese White or Black and not to an English version. This is a one-way transfer, so think carefully before transferring Pokemon. In the Pokemon Transfer Lab, you play a little minigame in which you slingshot a "catch ball" toward your Pokemon that you want to transfer to Generation V, but if you only want a few Pokemon, you can simply catch the ones you want to transfer and let the timer run out. The Pokemon that were not caught will return to their original game. Your Pokemon cannot have any HM moves, so delete them prior to transporting them to the Unova Region!

To trade to Black 2 or White 2 within Generation V you simply need to go to a Pokémon Center and enter a Union room to trade with yourself or another friend!

In order to transfer Pokemon from Generation V to a later generation, you need the Nintendo eShop apps called the Poké Transporter and Pokemon Bank. You must have the Pokemon in the first PC box so you can select it to transfer it up to Generation VI. The fifth generation games have the same method to transfer. To transfer, select the game from which you want to move Pokemon within the Transporter app. I will use my Japanese White for example. Select it and wait while your 3DS/2DS connects to the internet. It will give you a warning prior to being able to continue.

Note: the Transporter Box within Pokemon Bank must be empty before you can transfer more Pokemon.

Generation VI
  • X & Y
  • Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
Imports from: Generation V via Poké Transporter
Imports to: Generation VII via Bank; Generation VIII via Bank plus HOME

To move Pokemon to ORAS, select Pokemon Bank. Please know that you need to purchase a subscription to use its services! To begin the transfer, select "Use Pokemon Bank" and it will say "Use this game." Select it and continue. Then, select the last option; this moves us to the transfer section. Move the cursor to the top screen and then press the L bumper pad, as this will transition to the Poke Transporter Box. Press Select twice, as this allows us to move them all at once! After moving Pokemon from the Transporter Box to a normal box, press "X" to save the changes! The same process applies to Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.

Generation VII
  • Sun & Moon
  • Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon
Imports from: Generation V via Poke Transporter; Generation VI via Bank; VC via Poké Transporter plus Bank
Imports to: Generation VIII via Bank plus HOME

The above games use Pokemon Bank in order to get Pokemon from Generation VI to Generation VII. To move them to Generation VII, select "Use Pokemon Bank." Then, select the game that you have inserted into the DS. Choose the third option "Do not take any Battle Points or Poke Miles." It will then bring you to your Transporter Box and your in-game PC boxes. To move your Pokemon from the Transport Box, simply press Select (changes cursor to green) to be able to highlight multiple Pokemon and move them all at once! Once you have moved them, press "X" to save the changes!
  • Let's Go, Pikachu! & Let's Go, Eevee!

These games use Pokemon HOME to transfer Pokemon to Generation VIII. Pokemon transferred from Let's Go can be transferred to HOME and back to its original game but can't return to its original game if transferred to Sword or Shield.

To move them, select the Pokemon HOME app on the Switch and select your profile. From here, select Pokemon Let's Go, Eevee! or Let's Go, Pikachu! Simply move your Pokemon from the right (the Let's Go games) to the left (the HOME Boxes). The HOME service requires a subscription.

Spin-off:
  • Pokemon GO!

Surprisingly, you can in fact transfer Pokemon from GO to LGPE! To do so, you need access to Fuchsia City and to have talked to the person at the Safari Zone to unlock the ability to connect to Pokemon GO! To begin the process, go to Pokemon GO and select the Nintendo Switch icon in the top corner. It will then turn red/pink-ish. Now, select up to 50 Pokemon you want to transfer to LGPE! Hit the "Send to Nintendo Switch (50)" button. It will then give you the warning that the Pokemon you selected cannot be returned to GO and you must submit again in order for the process to begin. In the GO Park complex, talk to the NPC on the left-hand side and select the option "Bring Pokemon." You will then choose one of the parks to put them in. Be sure to have enough space in order to bring all of your Pokemon selected on GO. Accept and start the communication process with your phone. If done correctly, your Nintendo Switch will notify you it found an account on your smartphone. It will then ask if you want to receive a Pokemon; select "Yes." The two devices will communicate and you will see your Pokemon being sent.

Note: you can only send Kanto Pokemon (#001-151) and Meltan/Melmetal from Pokemon GO to LGPE!

After completing the transfer, you will receive the following messages on your devices:

Switch:
You've brought over X Pokemon from this player's Pokemon GO account!

Mobile Device:
Pokemon sent! You will receive candy corresponding to the Pokemon you sent plus 100 XP.

After the transfer is finished, you will receive a Mystery Box on Pokemon GO (if you unlocked that feature), which spawns Meltan! To capture the Pokemon you sent to LGPE, simply select the "Enter GO Park" option at the front desk of the Safari Zone and select the park you put your Pokemon in, as here is where you catch them. The Pokemon transferred from GO will have the Trainer name and ID number from your Let's Go account.

Generation VIII
  • Sword and Shield
Imports from: Pokemon Bank to HOME
Imports to: HOME to SWSH

Open the Pokemon HOME app on the Switch and select your profile. From here, select Pokemon Sword or Shield. As before, simply move your Pokemon from the boxes on the left (HOME) to those on the right (Sword and Shield).

Prior to the release of the Isle of Armor DLC for Sword and Shield, Pokemon were ineligible from participating in Ranked Battles through the Victory Station (VS) when brought from HOME. However, you can find an NPC in the Wyndon Battle Tower that gives your Pokemon a Battle Ready Mark, which allows them to participate! Please know that if you make them eligible for rank, your Pokemon will lose any exclusive moves upon receiving the Mark, so please think twice before doing so. After receiving the Battle Ready Mark, the Pokemon will then have the generic Generation VIII move set for its level.

This is everything a dedicated trainer needs to know in order to bring your favorite Pokemon from Generation I (VC) all the way to Generation VIII. With that I wish you all the best of luck! Gotta catch 'em all!

shiny finder I believe I am ready to open this guide up to the Quality Control phase! Please tag any user you feel is appropriate. The sections I have limited experience is the Pokemon Ranger game regarding the Manaphy Egg and the Pokemon GO stuff! I wasn’t too sure which spin-off games were prominent or were considered *Important* If I need to add more I can do that. There was like Pokémon Ranch and stuff. I saw it has some Pokémon like Mew and Manaphy but I don’t know how important that is.

Thanks Light Sanctity . I'll throw in some of my thoughts and tag some people to look it over as well. Kinda a brain dump as I went so lmk if you need some clarifications.

For gen 3, which Dex is needed for RSE? Am I right in understanding that the Dex (RSE) and PC (FR/LG) are needed to trade with XD/colo, or are those the requirements to trade among the core games?

For gen 4, you can pal park in HGSS as well. So that would need it's own description in addition to the ones for DPP. I would also include the 6 Pkm and 24 hour restrictions.

Manaphy Egg can be transferred to any Gen 4 game iirc, not just DP. As far as the codes go, might as well include em all since not everyone is from the US/UK. Assuming those codes still work ofc. I'd also specify that it's 1 per ranger cart (not save, cart). If you want to just focus on manaphy that's fine, but I'd also at least mention the other ranger games and the mons you can get (heatran and deoxys come to mind).

Gen 5: Transfer lab can also be done in BW2, not just BW. I'd also again mention the 6 mon requirement (tho you don't need to actually capture all 6 so that only some would be transferred).

gen 6: Can also be done with BW. Technically you use the poke transporter (which puts them in the transfer box in bank). IIRC you can't transfer again until you empty that box by putting them either into bank or one of your gen 6 games. I think more details on the process of how this works (gen 5 > transporter > insert gen 6 game > bank > move in bank or into game). Might also be worth adding you gotta pay for bank.
Both games have the same method to transfer
What is both referring to? With the inclusion of BW, that'd be 8 games listed.

gen 7: Honestly, I'd just copy the description from Gen 6 (changing words as necessary ofc) rather than referring back. It's short enough. About to touch on this, but I'd also say that you can import from VC with bank, since that can't be done with gen 6 (can't go VC -> gen 6 at all).

VC: For the VC games, some insight into how the IVs/natures are calc'd would be very helpful to see imo, since most players of the newer gens would question that. You don't have to reinvent the wheel on natures as we already have a guide on-site: https://www.smogon.com/ingame/guides/vc_natures. Think they could also be moved to the top since it's in ascending order generally. With that, you'd also need to change the intro to include gen 1 (you just have gens 3-8 rn). Location wise....LGPE could move up or stay. You could make an argument for both. Again, pretty sure you need to use transporter not bank to import, which is a separate app. You cannot import into gen 6 from the VC. Given your trends with the other games, I'd spend some words on the time capsule.

LGPE: Since this is a guide, I'd say how to actually do that in HOME. If someone had never heard of it, they wouldn't know what it was or how to use it. Nothing is obvious to everyone :)

GO: How are IVs etc determined on transfer? I'd also make it clearer that you are talking about getting to fushia city in LGPE. Where am I pressing X and Y? Can we trade directly into HOME now, as they originally planned? If not, I'd say this is a planned feature.

Gen 8: They do in fact use HOME (again, might be worth stating how), but they also interface with bank. At the very least I'd say something like if you want to import from Gen XXX, you need to interface with Bank thru HOME (and how you'd go about doing that).

There was like Pokémon Ranch and stuff.
I'd at least mention these because someone might care. Idt the features are that complex that you couldn't fit them into the relevant gen sections. Including it couldn't hurt in other words.

General: You don't talk about it at all, but you may want to consider import restrictions. Stuff like nicks and HMs come into mind. RIP my pokewalker flychus.

Great! Thanks SF I will as the necessary changes and add some more details in the spots needed. :) I also should mention that Fire red and Leaf Green require you to do the Sevii Island side quest too in order to trade between RSE to Fire Red/Leaf Green.

Unfortunately I am not very knowledgeable about old gens' transfer mechanics, but:

Echoing this, but I'd also briefly mention how HOME-transferred Pokemon weren't initially eligible for Ranked battles, but GF later fixed the issue by adding the NPC in the Battle Tower that will add the mark.

Greetings Light Sanctity,

shiny finder already covered more or less everything, but I'll still share a few comments down below:
  1. For the Pal Park in Gen 4, there is a glitch that allows you to bypass the 24h restriction. I used it myself back when the D/P games first came out. This thread here explains all of the steps. Could be worth mentioning, since it saves a lot of time.
  2. I agree with shiny finder when he says that you should also include the other Pokémon that you can get from the Pokémon Ranger games. A full list of them can be found here: "Pokémon Ranger" has the Manaphy egg, "Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia" has the Manaphy egg, Kyle's Riolu, and Almia Darkrai, and "Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Ships" has Oblivia Deoxys, the Manaphy egg, Oblivia Heatran, and Oblivia Shaymin.
  3. In tandem with shiny finder's Flychu's (Arceus bless their souls), the "Spiky-Eared Pichu" from HGSS and the Cosplay Pikachu from ORAS also come to mind when talking about Pokémon that cannot be moved to other games. The totems also come to mind, the USUM ones cannot even be put into bank. The regular SM ones however return to their normal size when migrated to SwSh. The partner Pikachu and Eevee from the Let's Go games can also not be moved to other games. Mew from VC can only be moved if it has the event OT and ID. Eggs cannot be moved up either.
Unfortunately I don't know anything about Pokémon GO and Let's go, Eevee/Pikachu!, hence why I cannot really help with these.

I hope that this helps!

A couple of points I'd like to add!

- Trading between Gen 3 games does require a link cable, but you should also mention that FRLG and Emerald games can trade using the GBA Wireless Adapter. The Wireless Adapter is not compatible with Ruby and Sapphire, though.

- Regarding SF's comments about what is required for trading between FRLG and XD/Colo, I think it's also worth mentioning that the player needs to complete the relatively lengthy Sevii Island quest chain (finding and delivering the Ruby and Sapphire gems) to fix the machine that lets you trade with other regions before you can transfer mons in from Orre.

- Also, Emerald can bypass the Dex requirement when trading with Colosseum only. For example, if you have a completed FRLG file with Sevii quest completed and wish to trade a mon not in Emerald's National Dex into Emerald without National Dex, you can do so by first trading that mon into Colosseum and then trading it from Colo into Emerald without the Dex. Here's the relevant tidbit on Bulbapedia re: Emerald:

"Unlike Ruby and Sapphire, trade restrictions between games are in place. Trading with Ruby and Sapphire as well as with another Emerald only allows trading of Pokémon indigenous to Hoenn while the player possesses only the country's regional Pokédex, while the National Pokédex is required to trade with FireRed and LeafGreen and XD: Gale of Darkness. This restriction also includes Pokémon Eggs from Ruby or Sapphire regardless if it contains a regional Pokémon. However, trading with Colosseum only requires the Hoenn Pokédex regardless of the Pokémon being traded."

Edit: Also, I didn't mention it even though it is in the quote above, but just in case, I want to highlight the fact that Ruby and Sapphire do not appear to have trade restrictions the way Emerald does.

I'll have to go through this a bit later in more detail but I think a bit more information for transfers between Gen 4 to 5 and onward to Bank might be a good idea.

We're used to Bank and Home transfers not being locked to a specific box for the most recent generation games but for transferring from Gen 4 to Gen 5 you must keep Box 1 of the Gen 5 game empty. In addition, when transferring from Gen 5 to Bank, you need to make sure that Box 1 only contains those pokemon that you want transferred as there's no way to discriminate individual Pokemon.

There are also some other limitations like no eggs, no items and HM moves from prior gens not being possible. The no HM moves definitly applies to Gen 4 (Surf Pikachu being a good example of this) but I'm trying to remember if it also applies to Gen 5.

Might also be worth mentioning that to transfer from Gen 4, you need to play a game and you must put 6 Pokemon in for transfer and for Gen 5 there's no game and no minimum/maximum limitation on the number of Pokemon that can be transferred. I would suggest adding how to play the Gen 4 transfer game but I'm not sure that would add much value although a comment that any Pokemon not caught in Gen 4's will go back to the boxes is worth a mention.

Edit: Just been reminded that there's an exception to the no HM transfer from Gen 4 is Defog as long as the transfer doesn't take place from HGSS.

Yup, and for the record, in Gen 4 the HM transfer applies not only to Defog but also any other HM move as long as it is on a game that doesn't have it as a native HM. So Defog is a DPPt HM and can be transferred out of HGSS where it is not an HM, and Whirlpool is a HGSS HM that can be transferred out of DPPt where it is not an HM.

Due to the lack of natures in Generation 1 and 2 you can actually control the nature in which you get. It is determined the the amount of experience you have and is divided by 25. The remainder is what determines your nature upon import as show here. This on-site guide will explain further on how the manipulating of the nature works!
I think you should specifically mention that you control the natures based on the amount of experience you have "when transferring the Pokemon" to avoid confusion. Just good to be a bit more specific!
Also, it's a GP thing technically, but it's "as shown here". :o

These are the games that encompass generation 3 and you can trade Pokemon from the spin-off games to one of the Core Series such as Emerald or you can go in reverse too. In order to get a Pokemon from either Gales or Colosseum you would need an item called the GameCube - Game Boy link cable. While Fire Red/Leaf Green can trade with Emerald via the GBA Wireless Adapter. However, it is not compatible with Ruby and Sapphire.
I think you should formulate the paragraph to be more clear about what is not compatible with Ruby and Sapphire. You mean to say that the GBA Wireless Adapter is not compatible with RS. But in this case, you should have a separate sentence also talking about trading between the other cartridge Gen 3 games using the GBA link cable, which you've omitted entirely. When I mentioned the wireless adapter to you, it was because you were listing all the various ways Gen 3 mons can be traded. Here in your paragraph, you jump straight from Colo/XD link cables to FRLG vs Emerald and don't mention that RS can also be traded with using the GBA link cable. So it makes it sound like Ruby Sapphire trading is just not possible at all when you say "it is not compatible with Ruby and Sapphire".

Pokemon Emerald has a trade restriction in place as it needs the National Dex. You can actually circumvent this requirement by:
1. Having a completed Fire Red/Leaf Green save with the Sevii Islands quest finished
2. Completed Pokemon Colosseum

By trading a Pokemon from FRLG into Pokemon Colosseum and then to Emerald as this allows the player to bypass the restriction of needing the National Dex. This ONLY works with Colosseum and not Gales of Darkness.
This is not right. The only requirement is having a completed Pokemon Colosseum file. I only mentioned FRLG as an example because if you wanted a mon from FRLG that wasn't in Emerald's national dex, you would need Colosseum to transfer it in. But if you had a Ruby that had Kanto mons that an Emerald with no National Dex wouldn't normally be able to get, you could also just put it into Colosseum from the Ruby and trade it into the Emerald that way. Same with any Colo mons that are mons not in Hoenn. So the more correct thing is to say that "Any Pokemon can bypass the National Dex trade restriction in Emerald if first traded into Colosseum and then traded into Emerald." That can be from any game, FRLG is not required.

Now to begin this process let's use Leaf Green and Ruby. First, insert Leaf Green into the DS and migrate your Pokemon to SInnoh and catch all six of your Pokemon, save, and turn the power off. Then turn it back on and tap the bottom of the screen to access the settings. Tap the "blue" icon to access "time and date settings". Then click the calendar and move the day ahead by one. Finally, quit the Ds to turn the system off. From here insert Ruby version and click "Migrate from ??? (??? represents your version name). Follow the process to migrate it will then pop up with this message," You are using a different Nintendo DS, or its internal clock has been altered. If the game's time setting is changed, you will not be able to migrate for another 24 hours. Would you like to change your game's time to match the Nintendo DS?" Click "Yes" and wait while it configures everything for you. After it configures and sends you back to the menu turn the system off remove the Ruby cart and insert Leaf Green once again. Proceed to the Migrate option and select the "migrate ???" That is all you have to do in order to do this helpful glitch!
I see that you mean you want to migrate extra mons off of Leaf Green. In that case, that should be the first thing you specify in the paragraph - that Leaf Green is the game you want to migrate extra mons out of, and Ruby is the extra cart to start the glitch with. You don't need to actually have migrated mons off of Leaf Green first in order to do this glitch. You can do it with any cartridge that is out of sync with the NDS by just changing the date on the DS first to make sure it's out of sync, putting the cart you don't want to migrate from in, accepting the clock change, and then putting the cart you do want mons off of in.

So in this case it would be
1 Change date on DS
2 Put Ruby in, get the "You are using a different NDS" error, accept the adjustment
3 Put Leaf Green in, Pal Park

Just so people know they don't have to migrate two batches of things to get the glitch to work. Your guide for this looks a lot like some other ones already available for the process online (http://pkmn.net/?action=content&page=viewpage&id=8521 which coincidentally also uses Leaf Green and Ruby as examples and which you might want to cite and credit), but I think my shortened way might be clearer about what's really necessary, so you can cite me too since the shortened method is mine :P. So if someone wanted to park out of a really old game and their NDS is already misaligned with it, they can just jump straight to it rather than having to wait the 24 hours to pal park first.

Looks good otherwise, I'll let you know later if I see any more things that stand out to me!

Couple of suggestions:

Add in that the Transporter Box in B/W or B/W2 will always be Box One to make it clearer which box needs to be kept empty for the transfer process to work from Gen 5 to Gen 6. Also a note that if it isn't kept clear any transfers from Gen 4 will be scattered across all the Gen 5 games' boxes might be an idea.

I'd also recommend a small section on HM transfer from Gen 4 to Gen 5 as I don't think knowledge of the ways to get around not being able to transfer an Pokemon with the Defog or Whirlpool HM moves is widely known. I've done a fair number of Gen 4 transfers and knew about Defog but not Whirlpool and it would be an idea to specify which HM can/cannot be transferred from which game (perhaps in table format).

In addition, I checked and the transfer workaround is the only way that Drifloon can have Defog as an EM in Gens 5 to 7. I don't believe this EM restriction applies to other Pokemon for either Defog or Whirlpool but it may be worth checking.

Light Sanctity Sorry long post, but the changes are small.

The restriction to trade between Gen 1 and 2 are the following:
1. You can't have any Generation II Pokemon or eggs in your party
2. The Pokemon must not be holding any Mail
3. None of the Generation 1 Pokemon that are within your party can know any moves that are in Generation II. However, you can trade a Pokemon from Generation I with a move set that is only obtainable from Generation II, so as long as they were introduced in Generation I. (i.e Alakazam with Fire Punch).
I'd suggest rewording a bit, as I was a bit confused about what you mean here. Perhaps:
The restrictions to trade from Gen 2 into Gen 1 are the following:
1. You can't have any Generation II-exclusive Pokemon or eggs in your party
2. The Pokemon must not be holding any Mail
3. None of the Generation 1 Pokemon that are within your party can know any Gen 2- exclusive moves. However, you can trade a Pokemon introduced in Generation I with a move set that is only obtainable from Generation II, so as long as the Pokemon and moves were introduced in Generation I. Bolded to highlight suggested changes. You may also want to find another example than Alakazam + FP to make the difference from bulba greater. I didn't do it here, but make sure you're also consistent in your usage of Gen vs Generation and 1/2 vs I/II.

and the Core games Ruby and Sapphire just needs the Poke Dex
Is it just the Poke Dex or the National Dex. Tagging Sephirona since she was touching on this before to confirm.

You would need either Diamond, Pearl, and or Platinum in order to Pal Park your Pokemon to gen 4. To do so you would need a DS that has a GBA slot in it and have seen all of the Pokemon in the generation 4 Dex in order to unlock the Pal Park.
I'd consider rewording this a bit to match your HGSS entry. As I read through it I felt like I could only pal park with DPPt, so it feels a little jolting to then learn you can also use HGSS.

R3d4*cv2S-WC7W
Typo. Also It's prob best if we reorder these to be alphabetical or smth. Safer that way.

After doing the Manaphy mission you can transfer the egg that you rescued to any generation 4 game. To do so have the Pokemon Ranger game in one DS and Diamond/Pearl in the other and go to the "Check Egg" screen on the Ranger game. It should show the "send" option click that and open up the other DS, It should upon launch notify you that you're picking up a signal from Pokemon Ranger. From there follow the on-screen instructions and then press the "Transfer" option which will then finally transfer the Manaphy Egg to your desired game. To collect your prize simply go to any Poke Mart to claim.
Two things: (1) It's not just DP, think any gen 4 works. (2) I think you're missing a step in the Gen 4 game. Transfers happen via the Mystery Gift iirc?

Also, if you don't want to go into the other ranger games, that's fine. But I think you should at least say if the process is the same as the manaphy. Right now you only talk about the Manaphy Egg and it's not immediately clear if the process extends to the other Ranger games.

There is one unique thing with Generation 4 as some Pokemon can have Hidden Machines as a move upon transfer to Gen 5. For example, Zapdos who can learn the Hidden Machine Defog in Sinnoh. Now normally you can not migrate Pokemon with HM's, but if you trade it to Heart Gold or Soul Silver you can bypass this and move it up anyways! Another instance of this is Drifloon with Defog it can have it as an Egg Move starting from Generation 5 to Generation 7. There are more Pokemon like this so a thing to keep note of is that if it is an HM in the game you caught the Pokemon in try to trade it to another game like a Pokemon with Whirlpool (HM) to Diamond or Pearl from HGSS.
I think this should get it's own section header, i.e. Restrictions. Similar for the other locations so it's organized a bit clearer.

Bit of a general comment here, but it's not immediately clear which origin generation you are talking about when describing the transfer process. This is mostly true from Gen 6 onward. Take GO for instance. It's not immediately clear you're talking about going from GO to LGPE. For LGPE, you say it uses home, but then what? The implications aren't apparent imo. As a possible remedy, I think it could be helpful to have a bullet point summary before your paragraphs in each section, similar to what you did for listing the games. Take Gen 6/7 for example. You could have

Gen 6
- games go here
  • Imports from: Gen 5 via Poke Transporter
  • Imports to: Gen 7 via Bank; Gen 8 via Bank + Home
Paragraphs

Gen 7:
- games go here
  • Imports from: Gen 5 via Poke Transporter; Gen 6 via Bank; VC via Poke Transporter
  • Imports to: Gen 8 via Bank + Home
Paragraphs

Etc etc. Basically I think a tldr could be really helpful. If you go this route, I'd only consider direct imports. I.e. For gen 7, you don't need to list Imports from Gen 3 via Pal Park to Gen 4 then Transfer Lab to Gen 5 then Poke Transporter. On that note, you don't mention importing into Gen 7 at all from the VC. That can't be done to Gen 6, and I think that's important to note somewhere in the guide.

In closing, with the addition of Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield, Pokemon were before ineligible to participate in ranked battles when brought via HOME. There is an NPC in the Battle Tower in Wydon that can give them the battle ready mark. I hope this guide was helpful in guiding you on bringing your favored Pokemon up to the most recent games!
(1) It's before the addition, not with the addition. (2) I'd say what the mark gets you. Before your closing sentence you could say something like "This mark makes Pokemon imported from previous generations usable in ranked Battles." or something to that effect. Tho it's implied, it's not immediately clear what the mark gets you. Might also be worth including what happens to moves but meh.

Last possible addition, what happens to moves that are not available in Gen 8 when imported (i.e Hidden Power).

Is it just the Poke Dex or the National Dex. Tagging Sephirona since she was touching on this before to confirm.
I just tested this using a Ruby file that has the Pokedex but did not defeat the Elite Four yet. Gales XD cannot connect to Ruby if Ruby did not beat the E4 yet - it gives me a "Cannot connect to a game that has not entered the Hall of Fame" error.

Non-Hall of fame Ruby can, however, take a Mewtwo from a (completed) Emerald even if the Ruby file does not have the National Dex yet.

Here's an additional tidbit I found on bulbapedia:

"In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the Pokédex is upgraded with the National Mode after the game trades with another Generation III game (except Ruby and Sapphire themselves). "

It sounds like Ruby and Sapphire both get the National Dex anytime without needing to enter the Hall of Fame, whereas in Emerald, you only get the Nat Dex after beating the league. So I think the most important takeaway is that both RS and E need to have beaten the Pokemon League to trade with Gales XD, The difference is that Ruby and Sapphire don't need the Hall of Fame to trade earlier with FRLG, or to trade mons not from the Hoenn region. Emerald needs to enter the Hall of Fame and get the National dex to trade with both Gales XD and FRLG, and according to the text I posted earlier from Bulba would not be able to take mons like Mewtwo without the Nat Dex either.

I can't test whether the same applies to Ruby and Colosseum because I have to head off and connecting my Colo to my RSE takes a looooooong time, so I can't do it tonight. Light Sanctity , you can try testing that tomorrow since you have the tools, you would prob just want to see whether a Ruby that has the Pokedex but not the Nat Dex can connect to Colo without Hall of Fame data. I'm assuming Colo needs Hall of Fame data on Ruby as well, but it's prob best to be sure since Colo works differently with Emerald and I haven't found much information about connecting Colo to RS either.

Note that the text I posted earlier from Bulba also says that Emerald only needs the Hoenn Pokedex to trade with Colosseum. I no longer have a Emerald file that hasn't beat the League yet to test this with, so you can test that one out using your JP Colo too if you'd like since you did get your new Emerald JP version :eyes:

While Fire Red/Leaf Green can trade with Emerald via the GBA Wireless Adapter but can't be used with Ruby and Sapphire.
This is a GP thing again but I just have to point out this sentence is still incorrect. The way you phrased it makes it sound like it is FRLG that can't be used with Ruby and Sapphire. You can instead say that "The GBA Wireless Adapter can be used to trade between FRLG and Emerald, but cannot be used with Ruby and Sapphire. Then the main subject becomes the GBA Wireless Adapter and its various uses, rather than FRLG's uses.

To move them select the Pokemon HOME app on the Switch and select your profile. From here select Pokemon and Select Pokemon Let's Go, Eevee! or Let's Go, Pikachu! Please note that GP marks such as (AC) and (RC) are not meant to be added as the color may suggest. Those should ofc be left out.

Introduction:

In this guide, I will be showing you how to transfer your favorite monsters from each of the Ccore Sseries games from Generation I all the way to Generation VIII. It is a long process, (AC) but once you have them, (AC) it will most definitely be worth the trouble. I will also be adding info about spin-off games as well as the various Pokemonsters you can obtain from them!

Generation I

Virtual Console Games:

Red
Blue
Yellow

Generation II

Gold
Silver
Crystal

To transfer Pokemon from the Virtual Console (VC) games, you need to use the Pokemon Transporter and have Pokemon within your VC game. It will show the VC games you have on your 3DS system within the Transporter app. I will use Crystal Vversion as the example. IUpon opening the app, it will say "Use this game". Wait while it condnects. broke this up because it was a bit awkward to change subjects/active-passive voice in the same sentence. Once the app connects. Ito your VC game, it will give you the warning that Pokemon can not be sent back and Pokemon that are holding items can't be moved. It will then say "wWould you like to move this box?". (AP) Select yes on the bottom screen. A cool quirk with the VC games is that all of the Pokemon, if they have Hidden Abilities (HA), will have a Hidden Ability when brought from the Virtual Console games. For example, Lugia, whose normal ability is Pressure, (AC) will have Multiscale!

not really a big deal, but if you define new acronyms, might as well use them. Not wrong per se how you had it, so this is a bit subjective.

After you have moved your Pokemon from the VC game into Pokemon Bank (the Transporter app will automatically place your Pokemon into Bank), (AC) select Pokemon Bank and have a Generation VII game, (AC) such as Sun or Moon, (AC) inserted into the slot. Select u"Use Pokemon Bank" formatting consistency and then select "Use this game" to continue. Then select "Do not take any Battle Points or Poke Miles". Finally, press the L button (unless you mean L on the dpad) to move to the Transporter Box, and(AC) Sselect your Pokemon, (AC) and then save to keep the changes you made!

Within the Virtual Console games, (AC) you can trade Pokemon via the Time Capsule. It can be found on the second floor of any Pokémon Center. The process is done through the vVirtual cConsole menu on the lower screen, in which players can establish connections though a hosting system. In order to have it functional, (AC) the player must first have met Bill in Ecruteak City, (RC) but must wait 24 hours in the game's internal clock prior to its full use.

The restriction to trade between Generation I and II are the following:
  1. You can't have any Generation II-exclusive Pokemon or eggs in your party.
  2. The Pokemon must not be holding any Mail. (AP)
  3. None of the Generation I Pokemon that are within your party can know any Generation II-exclusive moves. However, you can trade a Pokemon introduced in Generation I with a move set that is only obtainable from Generation II (RC) so as long as the Pokemon and moves were introduced in Generation I.

Due to the lack of natures in Generation I and II, (AC) you can actually control the nature you get upon import into a later game. It is determined by the amount of experience you have upon import, (AC) as shown here. This on-site guide will explain further on how the manipulating manipulation of the nature works!

Generation III
  • Emerald, Ruby, and Sapphire
  • FireRed and LeafGreen (RS)

Spin-off games:
  • XD: (AC) Gale of Darkness
  • Colosseum + Bonus Disc (ENG and JPN)

These are the games that encompass Generation III, (AC) and you can trade Pokemon from the spin-off games to one of the core series, (AC) such as Emerald, (AC) or you can go in reverse too. In order to get a Pokemon from either GalesXD or Colosseum, (AC) you would need an item called the GameCube - Game Boy Advance Link Cable. To trade between RSE and FRLG, (AC) you also need the GBA Link cCable. The GBA Wireless Adapter can also be used to trade between FRLG and Emerald, (RC) but cannot (RS) be used with Ruby and Sapphire. To trade between RSE and FRLG you only need the GBA Link Cable. In order to trade from the GameCube games to a Generation III game, (AC) you must be in the post-game of both Colosseum and GalesXD (Phenac City). The core games Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald requires you to have entered the Hall of Fame in order to trade with XD. FireRed (RS) and LeafGreen (RS) requires you to complete the Sevii Island side quest before being able to trade Pokemon from the Orre region.

Bonus Disc (ENG):

Exclusive to the English Colosseum Bonus Disc is the ability to obtain the Pokemon Jirachi. This Jirachi can be obtained an infinite number of times so as long as the save file that is receiving it has not already used the disc. You will need the Nintendo GameCube - Game Boy Advance Link Cable, an English Ruby or Sapphire, and a empty spot in your party. The ENG version yYou do not need to have a physical copy of Pokemon Colosseum to obtain Jirachi.

Bonus Disc (JPN)

Unfortunately, unlike the English Bonus Disc, the Japanese Version you need to owns a copy of Pokemon Colosseum in order to obtain the Pokemon Celebi. Another forced requirement is that this save file MUST have all 48 Shadow Pokemon purified. Furthermore, the disc can transfer up to 48 Celebi's to any Japanese Game Boy Advance Pokemon game as long as the player has beaten the Elite Four and saved in a Pokémon Center. A Pikachu is also available from the diskc. (AP)

Pokemon Channel:

In theis game, you can obtain the Pokemon called Jirachi.Jirachi. Presumably we know it's a pokemon Despite it being called the "Wish Maker", (AC) it won't make any of your real wishes come true, but what it it can make true is filling your PokéDdex with its entry. Now that is what we call wishful thinking. With that terrible joke aside pPlayers can obtainsend Jirachi onto either Ruby or Sapphire. After unlocking the full version of the Pichu Bros. in Party Panic, Jirachi will appear, (RC) and the mini-movie will be shown above a campfire. Due to a bug this Jirachi can be shiny.

bit of humor is fine, but that was too informal

Generation IV

  • Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum
  • HeartGold and SoulSilver (remove spaces)

Spin-off games:
  • Pokemon Ranger
  • Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia
  • Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs
  • Pokemon Ranch
  • Battle Revolution
The above games are part of the Generation IV core series and spin-off games. In order to migrate Pokemon to Generation IV, (AC) you need Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold (RS) or SoulSilver (RS). To do so, (AC) you would need a DS that has a GBA slot in it and have seen all of the Pokemon in the Generation IV DPokedex in order to unlock the Pal Park. Then from there, (AC) you would insert the GBA into (RS) the DS and go to the Ttitle Mmenu screen of the Gen IV game and i. (AP) It should have an option to transfer Pokemon from Generation III to Generation IV. As a word of caution, (AC) please know that once you transfer these Pokemon to a new Generation, (AC) they can no longer be traded back,; (AS) so please think carefully before migrating.

To Pal Park to HGSS, (AC) the player must have visited Fuchshia City (Kanto) at least once and have the National Pokédex. The migrate option will appear on the Mmenu screen whenever the player has a GBA game inserted in the Nintendo DS's GBA slot, regardless ifof whether you have visited the Pal Park or not.

Please note that your Pokemon MUST not haveknow Hidden Machine (HM) moves to be eligible for import. There is a 6 Pokemon requirement and a 24 hour waiting period when Pal Parking Pokemon to Diamond, Pearl, and or Platinum. However, in HeartGold (RS) and SoulSilver (RS), (AC) that restriction was lifted and you can migrate as much as you want in a single day. But let's say you don't have HeartGold (RS) or SoulSilver (RS), is there a way to bypass this restriction? In fact there is a way you can do so, (AC) and I will describe how to do so below.

Pal Park Glitch:
To pull this glitch off you need the following:
  • 2 GBA Carts
  • A Nintendo DsDS
  • Time
  • Have the The National Dex Pokedex
parallelism
To begin this glitch, (AC) we will be migrating Pokemon from LeafGreen, (RS/AC) and Ruby is the extra cart we will be using to start the glitch. Thanks to Sephirona for the shorthand (RS) version of it:
  1. Change date on the DS
  2. Put Ruby in and to get the "You are using a different DS" error and accept the adjustments
  3. Put LeafGreen (RS) in and use Pal Park
To nNote you do no have to use these specific games. Any combination of GBA games will work!

With Pokemon Ranger you can get the Mythical Pokemon, (RC) Manaphy. It can be obtained through the Ranger Net by holding the following buttons: R, X, and Left. You would also need to have completed the game in order to gain access to the Ranger Net. After that you will need to enter a specific code depending on the region.

These codes in fact still work but please be warned it can only worked if and ONLY if the Manaphy code has not been used on the cartridge, (AC) as it is a one time deal!

Below are the codes:
  • French
    DY4g-k28S-QB9F
  • German
    R3d4cv2S-WC7W
  • Italian
    FH38-fwD8-5S2a
  • United Kingdom
    Mg35-Cpb8-4FW8
  • Spanish
    C58f-t3WT-Vn79
  • United States
    P8M2-9D6F-43H7
After doing the Manaphy mission, you can transfer the Egg that you rescued to any Generation IV game. To do so, (AC) have the Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs game in one DS and Diamond/Pearl in the other and go to the "Check Egg" screen on the Ranger game. It should show the "send" option; (AS) click that and open up the other DS,. (AP) It should, (AC) upon launch, (AC) notify you that you're picking up a signal from Pokemon Ranger. Have the Select "Mystery Gift selected to", then select t"Transmit" to receive the gift, and gthen "Get from a friend". On the Guardian Signs, (AC) select "Transfer" and then y"Yes!". (AP) From there, (AC) follow the on-screen instructions and then press the "Transfer" option, (AC) which will then finally transfer the Manaphy Egg to your desired game. ThenFinally, go to any Poké Mart to claim!

The formatting was all over the place in the paragraph above, so I tried to make it consistent. Make sure it's still right.

In the table below are the other Pokemon Ranger games along with their Sspecial Pokemon that you can transfer:

This is not GP, but you might wanna put a - or add another column(s) or something to indicate the Pokemon that you can transfer from the mission. You say in the sentence above that you'll include it, but don't. Not all of them are obvious.

Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of AlmiaPokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs
Mission NameMission Name
Recover the Manaphy Egg!Deoxys and the Odd Temple!
Rescue the Kidnapped Riolu!Protect the Blue Sphere!
Liberate the Tower!Investigate the Odd Eruption!
Rescue the Lost Shaymin

A little side note for the Deoxys Mission. T: (AC) the Deoxys that is encountered can be transferred an infinite number of times, but each of the core games can only receive each of the Deoxys formes once!

Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia does not need the Ranger Net unlocked, but missions do. I'm confused, if the missions require the Net, and the missions are in SoA, wouldn't SoA require the net? They can be downloaded via the Nintendo Wi-FI connection during specific periods. are these periods still ongoing? If not, then that should be indicated.

To transfer from Guardian Signs, (AC) select "Ranger Net" and then select "Send a Pokemon" i. (AP) It will then bring up a list of the Pokemon you can transfer to any of the Generation IV games! Select the desired Pokemon in addition to having either DPPt/HGSS inserted into another DS system and it will send out a request for a trainer to care for the rescued Pokemon. Have the Select "Mystery Gift selected to", (AC) then select t"Transmit" to receive the gift, (AC) and gfinally "Get from a friend". On the Guardian Signs, (AC) select "Transfer" and then y"Yes!" Go to any Poké Mart to claim your gift!

again, consistency. Addressed this earlier since this is c/p from above

Pokemon Ranch:

In Pokemon Ranch you can get Phione and Mew. Once you get 250 Pokemon on the Ranch, it will expand a level. Hayley, (RC) will then ask for Leafeon, (AC) and once you can bring one over, (AC) she will offer Phione. After you get 999 Pokemon in the Ranch, it will expand and jump to level 255, the maximum level. Once this level is obtained, a new Pokemon will be added,. (AP) Hayley is now asking for any Pokemon Egg, (AC) and once you bring it to the Ranch, (AC) she will give you Mew.

Battle Revolution:

In Pokemon Battle Revolution there are a few "special (remove "" to keep consistent naming schemes) Pokemon that you can receive from the game that can be moved to any Generation IV game. Upon the defeat of Poketopia Master Mysterial for the first time, a Pikachu will become available for download in the shop (Battle Revolution in-game shop). This Pikachu will know the following moves: Volt Tackle, Surf, Tail Whip, and Thunder Wave. It will also be holding a Light Ball and is a Hardy nature Pikachu. In order to transfer Pikachu to Generation IV, (AC) you simply go the DPPt or HGSS Ttitle Mmenu screen and select the Mystery Gift option.

Electivire:

Electivire, (AC) along with the Gold Pass, (AC) can be unlocked with the following codes at the "Self-introduction" option in the Profile Menu profile menu. It is They are case sensitive and only works work when exiting the Profile profile menu:

RegionCode

Magmortar will bhave a Modest nature and will be carryholding the Charcoal item. It will be possessingknow the following moves: Flamethrower, Psychic, Hyper Beam, and Solar Beam.
Restrictions

There is one unique thing with Generation IV aswhen some Pokemon can haveknow Hidden Machines as a moves upon transfer to Generation V. For example, Zapdos who can learn the Hidden Machine Defog in Sinnoh but can have it as a normal move in a later Generation. Now normally you cannot (RS) migrate Pokemon withich know HM's, but if you trade it to HeartGold (RS) or SoulSilver, (RS/AC) you can bypass this and move it up anyways! Another instance of this is Drifloon with Defog i. (AP) It can havelearn it as an Egg Move starting from Generation V to Generation VII. There are more Pokemon like this so a thing to keep note of isremember that if it is an HM in the game you caught the Pokemon in, (AC) try to trade it to another game like, (AC) such as a Pokemon with Whirlpool (HM) to Diamond or Pearl from HeartGold or SoulSilver. either abbreviate the games or don't

Generation V
  • Black & White and Black 2 & White 2

In order to transfer Pokemon from Generation IV to V, you need to be in the post-game of Black or White (or Black 2 and White 2) and to head to Route 15, to enter the Pokemon Transfer Lab. On the another DS you will need to have the DS dDownload pPlay on and, (AC) if using a 3DsS, (AC) pick the DS option for download play. Please know that your games MUST be of the same language. For example, Japanese Diamond can only transfer to a Japanese White or Black and not ENG to JPNan English version. This is a one way transfer so think carefully onbefore transferring thPokemon. In the Pokemon Transfer Lab you play a little minigame in which you slingshot a "catch ball" toward your Pokemon that you want to transfer to Generation V,; (AS) but if you only want a few Pokemon, (AC) you can simply catch them ones you want to transfer and let the timer run out. The Pokemon that were not caught will return to their original game. Your Pokemon can not have any Hidden MM moves so delete them prior to transporting them to the Unova Region!

To trade to Black 2 or White 2 within Generation V you simply need to go to a Pokémon Center and enter a Union room to trade with yourself or another friend!

In order to transfer Pokemon from Black and White (Black 2 or White 2) to a later generation, you need the Nintendo eShop apps called the Poké Transporter and Pokemon Bank. You must have the Pokemon in the first PC box so you can select it to transfer it up to Generation 6. BoThe fifth generation games have the same method to transfer. To Ttransfer, (AC) select the Ggame infrom which you want to move Pokemon fromwithin the Transporter app. I will use my Japanese White for example. Select it and wait while your 3ds/2dsDS/2DS connects to the internet. It will give you a warning prior to being able to continue.

Note: the Transporter Box within Pokemon Bank must be empty before you can transfer more Pokemon.

(AP) In the GO Park complex, (AC) talk to anthe NPC on the left-hand (AH) side and select the option, (RC) "Bring Pokemon". You will then chooselect one of the parks to put them in. Be sure to have enough space in order to bring all of your Pokemon selected on GO. Accept and start the communication process with your phone. If done correctly your Nintendo Switch will notify you it found an account on your smartphone (RS). It will then ask if you want to receive a Pokemon then; (AC) select y"Yes". Furthermore, the disc can transfer up to 48 Celebi to any Japanese Game Boy Advance Pokemon game as long as the player has beaten the Elite Four and saved in a Pokémon Center. A Pikachu is also available from the disc.

Pokemon Channel (is this also a Gen 3 spinoff? Why isn't it listed?):

In this game, you can obtain Jirachi. Despite it being called the "Wish Maker," it won't make any of your real wishes come true, but what it can make true is filling your Pokédex with its entry. Players can send Jirachi to either Ruby or Sapphire. After unlocking the full version of the Pichu Bros (RP) in Party Panic, Jirachi will appear and the mini-movie will be shown above a campfire. Due to a bug,(AC) this Jirachi can be shiny.

Generation IV
  • Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum
  • HeartGold and SoulSilver

Spin-off games:
  • Pokemon Ranger
  • Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia
  • Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs
  • Pokemon Ranch
  • Battle Revolution
The above games are part of the Generation IV core series and spin-off games. In order to migrate Pokemon to Generation IV, you need Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold,(AC) or SoulSilver. To do so, you You also need a DS that has a GBA slot in it and to have seen all of the Pokemon in the Generation IV Pokedex in order to unlock the Pal Park. Then, you would insert the GBA into the DS and go to the title menu of the Gen IV game. It should have an option to transfer Pokemon from Generation III to Generation IV. As a word of caution, please know that once you transfer these Pokemon to a new Generation, they can no longer be traded back,(semicolon -> comma) so please think carefully before migrating.

To Pal Park to HGSS (I do not know what this means), the player must have visited Fuchsia City (Kanto) at least once and have the National Pokédex.

There is a 6 Pokemon requirement and a 24 hour waiting period when Pal Parking migrating Pokemon to Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. However, in HeartGold and SoulSilver, that restriction was lifted and you can migrate as much as you want in a single day. But let's say you don't have HeartGold or SoulSilver, is there a way to bypass this restriction? In fact,(AC) there is a way you can do so, and I will describe how below.

These codes in fact still work,(AC) but please be warned it can work if and ONLY if the Manaphy code has not been used on the cartridge, as it is a one time deal!

Below are the codes:
  • French
    DY4g-k28S-QB9F
  • German
    R3d4cv2S-WC7W
  • Italian
    FH38-fwD8-5S2a

Select "Mystery Gift" (RC) then "Transmit" to receive the gift, and then "Get from a friend". On Guardian Signs, select "Transfer" and then "Yes!". From there, (AC) follow the on-screen instructions and then press the "Transfer" option, which will then finally transfer the Manaphy Egg to your desired game. Finally, go to any Poké Mart to claim it!

In Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia,(AC) the Ranger Net does not need to be unlocked,(AC) as it is by default,(AC) but the missions need to be downloaded which and are no longer available.

To transfer from Guardian Signs, select "Ranger Net" and then select "Send a Pokemon." It will then bring up a list of the Pokemon you can transfer to any of the Generation IV games!

In Pokemon Battle Revolution,(AC) there are a few special Pokemon that you can receive from the game that can be moved to any Generation IV game.

Magmortar will have a Modest nature and will be holding the Charcoal item. It will know the following moves: Flamethrower, Psychic, Hyper Beam, and Solar Beam.

Restrictions

There is one unique thing with Generation IV when some Pokemon know HM moves upon transfer to Generation V. For example, Zapdos can learn the HM Defog in Sinnoh but can have it as a normal move in a later Generation. Now normally,(AC) you cannot migrate Pokemon which that know HMs, but if you trade it to HeartGold or SoulSilver, you can bypass this and move it up anyway! Another instance of this is Drifloon with Defog. It can learn it as an Egg Move starting from Generation V to Generation VII. There are more Pokemon like this,(AC) so remember that if it is an HM in the game you caught the Pokemon in, try to trade it to another game, such as a Pokemon with Whirlpool to Diamond or Pearl from HeartGold or SoulSilver.

Generation V
  • Black & White and Black 2 & White 2

In order to transfer Pokemon from Generation IV to V, you need to be in the post-game of Black or White (or Black 2 and White 2) and to head to Route 15 to enter the Pokemon Transfer Lab. On another DS you will need to have the DS Download Play on and, if using a 3DS, pick the DS option for download play. Please know that your games MUST be of the same language. For example, Japanese Diamond can only transfer to a Japanese White or Black and not to an English version. This is a one-way(AH) transfer,(AC) so think carefully before transferring Pokemon. In the Pokemon Transfer Lab,(AC) you play a little minigame in which you slingshot a "catch ball" toward your Pokemon that you want to transfer to Generation V,(semicolon -> comma) but if you only want a few Pokemon, you can simply catch the ones you want to transfer and let the timer run out. The Pokemon that were not caught will return to their original game. Your Pokemon cannot(spacing) have any HM moves,(AC) so delete them prior to transporting them to the Unova Region!

To trade to Black 2 or White 2 within Generation V you simply need to go to a Pokémon Center and enter a Union room to trade with yourself or another friend!

In order to transfer Pokemon from Black and White (Black 2 or White 2) Generation V to a later generation, you need the Nintendo eShop apps called the Poké Transporter and Pokemon Bank. You must have the Pokemon in the first PC box so you can select it to transfer it up to Generation 6 VI.

- Sun & Moon
- Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon

  • Let's Go,(AC) Pikachu! & Let's Go,(AC) Eevee!

Surprisingly,(AC) you can in fact transfer Pokemon from GO to Let's Go Pikachu and Eeeve LGPE! To do so, you need to have gained access to Fuchsia City and to have talked to the person at the Safari Zone to unlock the ability to connect to Pokemon GO! To begin the process, go to Pokemon GO and select the Nintendo Switch icon in the top corner. It will then turn red/pink-ish. Now,(AC) select up to 50 Pokemon you want to transfer to Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu/Eevee LGPE! Hit the "Send to Nintendo Switch (50)" button. It will then give you the warning that the Pokemon you selected cannot be returned to GO and you must submit again in order for the process to begin. In the GO Park complex, talk to the NPC on the left-hand (AH) side and select the option "Bring Pokemon." You will then choose one of the parks to put them in. Be sure to have enough space in order to bring all of your Pokemon selected on GO. Accept and start the communication process with your phone. If done correctly ,(AC) your Nintendo Switch will notify you it found an account on your smartphone. It will then ask if you want to receive a Pokemon; select "Yes." The two devices will communicate and you will see your Pokemon being sent.

Note: you can only send Kanto Pokemon (#001-151) and Meltan/Melmetal from Pokemon GO to Let's Go LGPE!

After completing the transfer, you will receive the following messages on your devices:

Switch:
You've brought over X Pokemon from this player's Pokemon GO account!

Mobile Device:
Pokemon sent! You will receive candy corresponding to the Pokemon you sent plus 100 XP.

After the transfer is finished, you will receive a Mystery Box on Pokemon GO (if you unlocked that feature),(AC) which spawns Meltan! To capture the Pokemon you sent to Let's Go LGPE, simply select the "Enter GO Park" option at the front desk of the Safari Zone and select the park you put your Pokemon in, as here is where you catch them.

However, you can find an NPC in the Wyndon Battle Tower that gives your Pokemon a Battle Ready Mark,(AC) which allows them to participate! Please know that if you make them eligible for rank, your Pokemon will lose any exclusive moves upon receiving the Mark,(period -> comma) So so please think twice before doing so.

Gotta catch 'em all!

two main complaints:
- under the Generation tabs, you're inconsistent with your usage of bullets, hyphens, and double spaces. Pick one to use throughout.
- you left in lots of double spaces. I manually removed them but didn't comment on said removal, so be careful with implementing this check.

gp 2/2 when done
