[SET COMMENTS]
Scizor can function as an offensive pivot due to its high Attack, good coverage, and ability to force switches from the likes of Iron Valiant and Baxcalibur. Due to its typing, it can check Dragonite, which is a phenomenal offensive threat in OU. Bullet Punch dents Garganacl and Iron Valiant, as well as being able to revenge kill sweepers such as Roaring Moon, Dragonite, and Baxcalibur. Dragonite's Extreme Speed does very little to Scizor in return, and Scizor can break Multiscale on Dragonite. Close Combat nails Kingambit and deals decent damage to Ting-Lu, and while U-turn 3HKOs Ting-Lu, Close Combat can 2HKO if Stealth Rock is up. Alternatively, Defog improves Scizor's matchups against entry hazard users such as Garganacl, Ting-Lu, and Great Tusk. Thief hits Gholdengo, Skeledirge, and Ceruledge for super effective damage, as well as being Scizor's strongest option against Toxapex. Swords Dance can power up Bullet Punch and U-turn, allowing Scizor to break through Garganacl. Tera Steel powers up Bullet Punch, which is key in OHKOing Iron Valiant and Baxcalibur after Stealth Rock. Heavy-Duty Boots makes pivoting easier by ignoring entry hazards.
Scizor best fits on bulky offense and balance teams, as these appreciate a pivot which can force switches to bring in frail wallbreakers. Iron Valiant and Dragapult appreciate the momentum that Scizor provides, as they are 2HKOed by many common attacks. In return, they can handle physical walls that Scizor has trouble getting past such as Great Tusk and Dondozo. Scizor also appreciates entry hazard support from teammates such as Great Tusk, Garchomp, and Ting-Lu, as Scizor puts pressure on the opposing team with U-turn, forcing more switches and helping rack up more damage with hazards. Scizor also suffers from a lack of recovery, so defensive teammates such as Toxapex are appreciated, as they can help take pressure off of Scizor. Dragapult and Rotom-W form a good pivot core with Scizor, with Scizor luring Skeledirge and Dragapult luring Ting-Lu.
