Mega Pinsir is an effective wallbreaker on hyper offense teams but faces stiff competition from the likes of Mega Garchomp, Mega Scizor, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Charizard X. However, it retains a valuable niche in being able to revenge kill Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Rillaboom, and Hawlucha, which are otherwise massive threats to hyper offense. Swords Dance coupled with Aerilate-boosted Frustration allows Mega Pinsir to break through bulkier foes such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor. Close Combat tears through Heatran, Excadrill, and Melmetal while dealing significant damage to Corviknight. Quick Attack boosted by Aerilate can pick off common threats to hyper offense, such as Mega Lopunny, Hawlucha, and Rillaboom. Hyper Cutter is the chosen ability prior to Mega Evolution because it blocks Intimidate from Landorus-T.

As Mega Pinsir is seen mainly on hyper offense, suicide leads such as Excadrill and Landorus-T are vital partners. Excadrill is especially good at this, as it can deny the opponent's Stealth Rock, which would otherwise cripple Mega Pinsir severely. Additionally, teammates that can weaken Zapdos, Corviknight, and Rotom-W are important, such as Gyarados, Garchomp, and Serperior. Mega Pinsir's ability to offensively check Mega Lopunny and Hawlucha, two common threats to hyper offense teams, is extremely valued by its teammates as well. Mega Pinsir also tears through bulkier balance Pokemon like Toxapex, Clefable, and Gliscor, which can be helpful for teammates such as Hawlucha and Kommo-o. In particular, Serperior appreciates the pressure that Mega Pinsir applies to Heatran and Corviknight.

Earthquake may seem nice to smack Steel-types without the Defense drop caused by Close Combat, but it leaves Mega Pinsir walled by Corviknight. Additionally, Stone Edge to take down Zapdos sounds interesting, but it is simply not better than any of the listed options and leaves Mega Pinsir walled by most Steel-types.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-types**: Zapdos, Rotom-W, and Tapu Koko all resist Mega Pinsir's STAB Frustration and threaten to deal heavy damage in return or, in the case of Rotom-W, threaten to cripple Mega Pinsir with Will-O-Wisp.

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Defensive behemoths such as Skarmory and Hippowdon can withstand Mega Pinsir's assault and can use this opportunity to set up entry hazards or Toxic poison it. Corviknight can stomach even boosted Close Combats and OHKO in return with Brave Bird after Mega Pinsir has dropped its Defense with Close Combat.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon that are not weak to Quick Attack do well at revenge killing Mega Pinsir, such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Zeraora. All of these Pokemon, especially Landorus-T, can be susceptible to boosted Quick Attacks after enough chip, though.

**Stealth Rock**: Mega Pinsir's crippling quadruple weakness to Stealth Rock greatly cuts into the number of times it is able to hit the field.

**Faster Priority**: Strong priority moves such as Fake Out from Mega Medicham and Mega Lopunny can wear down Mega Pinsir quickly. Ash-Greninja's Water Shuriken is also noteworthy, as it will go before Quick Attack.

Thanks to Swords Dance and access to Aerilate, Mega Pinsir has found itself a niche on hyper offense teams as quite the effective wallbreaker. Despite these interesting traits, Mega Pinsir faces stiff competition for the Mega Evolution slot on hyper offense from Mega Garchomp, Mega Scizor, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Charizard X. All of these Pokemon either offer more defensive utility than Mega Pinsir or outclass it offensively. Despite this, Mega Pinsir is still a rather threatening wallbreaker and retains a niche. Mega Pinsir is an effective wallbreaker on hyper offensive teams, but faces stiff competition from the likes of Mega Garchomp, Mega Scizor, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Charizard X. However, it retains a valuable niche in being able to revenge kill Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Rillaboom, and Hawlucha, who are otherwise massive threats to hyper offense. this reads better Swords Dance coupled with Aerilate-boosted Frustration allows Mega Pinsir to break through bulkier foes, such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor. Close Combat tears through Ferrothorn, Heatran, and Melmetal while dealing significant damage to Corviknight. Quick Attack boosted by Aerilate can pick off common threats to hyper offense, such as Mega Lopunny, Hawlucha, and Rillaboom. Hyper Cutter is the chosen ability prior to Mega Evolution because it blocks Intimidate from Landorus-T. With maximum Speed investment, Mega Pinsir outspeeds Kyurem, Tapu Lele, and Garchomp. We know what max speed does

As Mega Pinsir is seen mainly on hyper offense, leads to set entry hazards such as Excadrill and Landorus-T are vital partners. Excadrill is especially good at this, as it can deny the opponent's Stealth Rock, which would otherwise cripple Mega Pinsir severely. Additionally, teammates that can weaken Zapdos, Corviknight, and Rotom-W are important, such as Gyarados, Thundurus-T idt this is a good example here, no one will throw their corv, zap or washtom at a thundy T, Garchomp, and Serperior. Mega Pinsir's ability to offensively check Mega Lopunny and Hawlucha, two common threats to hyper offense teams, is extremely valued by its teammates as well. Mega Pinsir also tears through bulkier balance Pokemon like Toxapex, Clefable, and Gliscor, which can be helpful for teammats such as Hawlucha, Kommo-o, and Thundurus-T. The pressure that Mega Pinsir applies to Heatran and Ferrothorn is especially important to enable its dangerous teammate, Serperior. In particular, Serperior appreciates the pressure that Mega Pinsir applies to Heatran and Corviknight. Ferro isn't a good mention here bc serp isnt checked by it, as +2 hp fire really dents it

**Electric-types**: Zapdos, Rotom-W, and Tapu Koko all resist Mega Pinsir's STAB Frustration and threaten to OHKO deal heavy damage discharge from defensive dos dosent OHKO from full so I think this makes more sense in return, or in the case of Rotom-W, threaten to cripple Mega Pinsir with Will-O-Wisp.

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Defensive behemoths such as Skarmory and Hippowdon take minimal damage this bit is misleading, hippo can take upto 80% from +2 frustration from Mega Pinsir and can use this opportunity to set up entry hazards or Toxic poison it. Corviknight, though not the bulkiest Pokemon in the world, this implies that corv is much less bulky than skarm, when they Both have almost the same bulk, this bit can just be removed can stomach even boosted Close Combats and OHKO in return with Brave Bird after Mega Pinsir has dropped its defenses with close combat. Or something similar, just get across the point that corv can only OHKO when Pinsir is at -1

**Landorus-T**: Defensive variants of Landorus-T can switch into and threaten Mega Pinsir out with Stone Edge as well as set Stealth Rock to limit its opportunities to get into play. This portrays Lando as a great check to pinsir when it really isn't, at +2 frustration OHKO'S from full ( remember hyper Cutter prevents intim) and even if Lando gets the intimidate off, +1 frustration can OHKO after rocks so I think this should be reworded, or you should mention that it can be KOd by +2 or +1 frustration Choice Scarf Landorus-T is also a great way to revenge kill Mega Pinsir.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon that are not weak to Quick Attack do well at revenge killing Mega Pinsir, such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Zeraora.

**Stealth Rock**: Mega Pinsir's crippling quadruple weakness to Stealth Rock greatly cuts into the amount of times it is able to hit the field.

**faster priority**: lop and medi FAKE OUT n gren lol u might wanna fill this out, make sure to mention that pinsirs bulk lets it take these well if it's at high HP.

Quick Attack boosted by Aerilate can pick off common threats to hyper offense, such as Mega Lopunny, Hawlucha, and Rillaboom. Additionally, Stone Edge to take down Zapdos sounds interesting, but is simply not better than any of the listed options. the wording makes hitting Zapdos seem less important than it actually is, the problem is how it is more easily beaten by Steel-types without Close Combat.

However, Landorus-T cannot switch into boosted Frustrations. Choice Scarf Landorus-T is also a great way to revenge kill Mega Pinsir. landorus-t isn't really a big enough obstacle for Mega Pinsir to warrant its own section since that it is not really a good check to it after an sd, choice scarf and rocks are super annoying but you mention them below

**Revenge Killers**: Faster Pokemon that are not weak to Quick Attack do well at revenge killing Mega Pinsir, such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Zeraora. mention how all of them can be revenge killed themselves by quick attack if they are weakened enough, especially landorus-t

**Faster Priority**: Strong priority moves such as Fake Out from Mega Medicham and Mega Lopunny can wear down Mega Pinsir quickly. Ash-Greninja's Water Shuriken is also noteworthy, as it will go before Quick Attack.
