Welcome to the Pet Mods Submissions thread! As the name would imply, this is the place to submit Pet Mods to become their own threads. Once you've made at least 15 posts across the Gen 8 and Gen 9 Pet Mods subforums, all you have to do to is fill out the following form...

Pet Mod Name: (Self-explanatory, what's the Pet Mod going to be called?)
Pet Mod Concept: (Give a short, basic idea of what your Pet Mod is about.)
Explanation: (Go a bit more in-depth about the concept. What all rules are there? How is submitting going to work?)
Miscellaneous: (Do you have anything else you feel is important to mention? If not, feel free to remove this part.)

After you've posted this, you'll need to wait for a staff member to approve your Pet Mod, and only then will you be able to post a new Pet Mods thread. Please do not post in this thread if you are not submitting. If you need to ask questions or need help with your ideas, feel free to post to the workshop thread instead.

Pet Mod Name: [Gen 9] Modern Gen 1
Pet Mod Concept: OU format played with Gen 1 mechanics and standard Gen 9 National Dex legalities.
(In other words: National Dex but with gen1 mechanics)
Items, abilities and field effects do not exist.
Explanation: This metagame is played in the gen1custombattle format, assuming movesets legal in gen 9 national dex AG (not taking abilities into account). Since items and abilities did not exist in gen 1, they are banned. Anything able to trigger a field affect (hazards, room moves, etc) is banned as well, since field effects did not exist in gen 1 either. Certain moves and mechanics behave very weirdly in this format, because of the way PS! coded them. Those are accepted as part of the identity of the metagame.
You can find the explanations about certain bans in the F.A.Q. spoiler.

Keep in mind that none of those mechanics ever was "decided", those are just gen1customgames mechanics.

-MG1 works alot like Gen 1, where crit rate is based off of speed, where there's no physical/special split, and many moves work differently from their modern iterations, and everything has maxed out EVs. Fairy and Steel are physical, while Dark is Special. Dark also is no longer super effective on anything anymore, and steel gets back its resistances to Ghost and Dark. Fire does not resist Steel and Fairy as well.

-Special Attack and Special Defense are still separated statistics. Mystical Fire will only drops Special Attack, Nasty Plot only boosts Special Attack, etc. Because of the way Special is implemented on PS, only Special Attack boosts and drops are shown, so if, for example, a Pokemon's Special Defense drops after taking a Shadow Ball, none of the players will immediately know about it!

-Most moves and all Pokemon are there earliest iterations: for example, Chansey will have its gen1 stats, Blissey its gen2 stats, Rotom appliances will have their old Electric-Ghost typing, Hidden Power Base Power depending on DVs like in Gen2, and Amnesia boosts both Special Defense and Special Attack like it did in gen1, etc. For various reasons, certain moves from future generations work differently or just don't work at all. The most important differences in this metagame probably are First Impression never failing, Baton Pass not passing any stats (despite PS! saying it does!!), and Wish/Healing Wish not having any effects. Here is the comprehensive doc where we list everything we know about these mechanics: Mechanics Doc

-To calc, you can use the gen8 calculator for your damage calculations. However, there are a couple things to keep in mind:
-> Crits boosts damages by +1.95, don't calc them with the gen8 crit option in the calculator. If both pokemons in the field are level 100, the damages of a critical hit are pretty much equal to the damages dished with at +1 in the offensive stat with a Life Orb. Do not forget that crits ignore all boosts, negative and positive ones, from both the user of the move and the Pokemon the move is targeted against.
-> The physical/special split is not a thing in MG1: certain offensive typings are always special, and some other are always physical. Steel and Fairy are Physical, while Dark is Special.
-> In MG1, all Pokemon default to full EVs investment in each stat.

-High crit rate moves have an 8x higher crit rate, which means they always crit if your base speed is 64 or higher.

The explanations for the most recent bans can be found in the Discord.
-Why is X banned?
> Partial trapping moves:
You may already know about this, but partial trapping moves are much stronger in generation 1 than what they are in modern generations. They completely prevent the opponent from moving for 2-5 turns, and work even if the opponent switches in and then moves first. Trapping moves introduced in later gens still prevent the opponent from moving, but you are not locked into them. Infestation and Magma Storm are both completely ridiculous, with the former sporting 100% accuracy and the latter being a whopping 120 BP. Rather then deal with each problem move individually, it was decided that they would be banned as a group, much like sleep moves.
>Fake Out:
Fake out never fails, and can be used any turn. I let you imagine how dumb that can be lol.
>Inteleon:
This might be surprising to people unfamiliar with the metagame, but Inteleon was actually probaby the single best Pokemon in the MG1 metagame before its ban. Even in a meta where everything has a full investment in bulk, Snipe Shot - which is a stab move that always crit due to gen1 mechanics (keep in mind that crits pretty much double your damages in gen1) - was incredibly strong. Coupled to its access to Blizzard and U-Turn, Inteleon had the all the tools needed to rule the metagame, and was pretty much considered mandatory in any team. We made usage stats before its ban, and it unsurprisingly was found in 94% of teams.
> Why is Baton Pass unbanned?
In MG1, Baton Pass actually doesn't pass your stats, despite Showdown saying it does (Visual bug).
> Why are reflect and light screen not banned, are they not field-effects?
Reflect and Light Screen have vastly different properties in Gen 1, doubling your defense/special defense when hit by a physical/special move instead of halving physical damage for your team for 5/8 turns. Thus, they are not field moves in gen1: they technically are status!
>Why are weather settings move (Hail, Sunny Day, etc...) not banned despite being field effect?
Because those move do not work for some reason. Same goes for Terrain moves. In case you are wondering: yes, we tested with abilities, and for some reason those work. Abilities are not available in this metagame, however.
>Why is Dracovish unbanned?
Due to it losing Strong Jaw, its access to choice items, and Fishious Rend being special, Dracovish is much, much less threatening to face. The DVs mechanics making everything bulkier does not help, of course.
>Why is Spectrier unbanned?
In gen1, Ghost is physical, and Spectrier has 65 in Atk. Talk about beating a dead horse.
>Why is Protect not banned? You can spam the move, but it will never fail.
Even if unbreakable Protect sounds busted on paper, in practice it is actually not an easy move to abuse. So far we didn't really found a way to make the move very hard to deal with, especially since burn, poison and leech seed are awfully bad in Gen1. At the time of writing, it is mostly seen on a couple niche block + status + protect sets, which are for now pretty uncommon.
> How does Special work?
It doesn't. Each non gen1 Pokemon keeps both of its special stats separated, despite the teambuilder only showing special as special attack. Gen 1 mons have equal special attack and defense according to their gen 1 special. Moves like Nasty Plot only raise Special Attack. Amnesia gives +2 to both Special Defense and Special Attack, because that's the way it worked in gen1. Because of the way Special is implemented on PS, Special Defense drops/rises are not shown.
> How do the new types apply?
Dark, Fairy and Steel all function properly defensively, but Fire does not resist Steel and Fairy, Poison does not resist Fairy and Dark is not super effective against Ghost or Psychic. Dark is pretty much neutral against everything bar Steel, Fairy and Dark.
Also, Fairy is physical.

Sky Cup
Prospective Server: If this mod is approved, it’ll be discussed in my Pet Mods server Red’s Treehouse, linked here: https://discord.gg/7wzTVAtXf5
Summary of the Mod: Sky Cup aims to put every Pokémon (tiered above NFE) that is flying type or has Levitiate as an ability and has an aerial sprite (every Pokémon that would be eligible in Gen 6 Sky Battles) and build a metagame around them. This would mean removing the Flying type and Levitate ability from most mons and giving every mon new types, stats, and moves to better suit their competitive niche in whatever tier they’re in, like Optimons or Multiverse.
Competitive Overview: As of Gen 8, Including alternate forms, there are about 66 final stage flying type Pokémon with aerial sprites, and 28 final stage levitate mons with aerial sprites, making for about 83 available Pokémon to build this metagame with. The number’s higher now, but that can be calculated later. You might be wondering how 66 and 28 makes 83, but I can answer that with the fact that Rotom-Fan applies to both of these lists. But in this mod, we can change that, among all the others. In this mod we’ll build a metagame of purely aerial Pokémon, and then ground them in the name of balance.

Slate Composition: Besides significant exceptions, such as Rotom Forms, each slate will have three eligible Pokémon for submitters to edit. Voting will work similarly to how I run Abilitypos, where you can give as many submissions as you want one point while the first two votes in a ceggory hold more value, and self voting is limited to a pool of voting points if you want to place your own sub in first or second place.

Note that despite the fact this would be using a natdex format, megas are not allowed.

:bw/charizard:
Pokémon: Charizard
Typing: Fire / Dragon
Abilities:
Blaze, Drought
Stats: 78 HP / 84 Atk / 78 Def / 109 SpA / 85 SpD / 100 Spe (534 BST)
Movepool Changes: N/A
Competitive Role: Takes aspects from megas to ground the mon, remains a Special Wallbreaker, but now is less afraid of switching in to rocks and sets Sun instead of abusing it, as there are no aerial Sun setters.

Also note that in case the mod’s approved, I’ll need a council to help keep this running, so feel free to contact me if it works out.

Work!
Pet Mod Name: [Gen 1] Burgundy Version
Pet Mod Concept: This mod seeks to expand on the existing Gen 1 metagame by making fakemon, fake moves and introducing future gen moves and Pokemon. It also looks at possible mechanic alterations that embrace Gen 1's quirks but make them more competitive. Similar to Crystal: Sevii Islands and Hoenn Gaiden.
Explanation: It's all in the OP draft included in this post. This mod is designed with approachability in mind, and so the council created a philosophy to ensure the mod would could be picked up by anyone by preserving existing OU benchmarks (in lieu of creating new ones).
Miscellaneous: Led by a council (myself, Paul and Teh). Multiple people on the RBY server have also expressed interest in the project and it would likely be hosted in their pet-mods room.

[Gen 1] Burgundy Version

Legend has it that a remote island lay off the coast of the Kanto region where the strongest trainers gather, further beyond than even the Sevii Islands and the Orange Archipelago. Home to this region are a unique variety of Pokemon that have never been seen before, as well as Pokemon from other regions not native to Kanto. You've been invited by the island's professor, Professor Mulberry, to help study and catalogue life on this island and the uniqueness it features. This is the Burgundy Island.

Premise
In this Gen 1 mod, we will be expanding on the existing RBY metagame by playing to its strengths and, perhaps, tightening some things up. RBY is a unique metagame as its three different tiers (standard, Tradebacks and Stadium) have different mechanics, and so as a mod, we are in a unique position to make some mechanical alterations to the tier that not only play to its strengths, but play the way we want. Legalizing tradebacks and making bug fixes (99.6, Dig/Fly, new sleep or wrap mechanics, etc) are on the table and we will take this in the community's direction. This should still feel like Gen 1, but it should feel both familiar and enhanced.

Beyond that, we'll also be making some additions to the tier. These can be grouped into a few categories.

1. Rebalances

These are historically very popular with other RBY mods. You can take an existing RBY mon and attempt to make it more OU viable. OR, you can take an existing RBY move and make it more viable.

2. Additions

During these slates, people can sub Pokemon from other generations to add them to the mod. These Pokemon should feel like they belong in Gen 1 and so there will be additional guidelines to ensure that they do so. Additionally, new attacks from other generations can also be added. Again, the aim is to feel like they fit in Gen 1, and so it is requested that you make the minimum amount of changes possible to make it work.

3. Original Creations

Similar to the Additions, but these will be original creations for the mod. We will create Fakemon or original moves that can fit within the RBY context. This process will be drawn out over an extended period of time to ensure the final product fits within the tier.

4. Anything Else

During the mod, if there are other things the community wants to add to the mod (new status effects, new types, new mechanics, etc), we may do them if there is enough support in doing so.

Philosophy

This mod attempts to answer the following guiding question: how can a mod feel faithful to the original material but expand on it while doing so? RBY is a fragile generation in terms of its power level, and introducing legions of powercreep sours the experience for everyone. In all cases, it is better to undershoot than overshoot.

By being faithful, there are some things we should consider as part of our guiding principles for the sake of playability and accessibility. It is in the mod's best interest to preserve the core RBY Pokemon and build around them, rather than replacing them.
  • Unless we change sleep mechanics, reliable sleepers (defined as having a 75% accurate sleeping move) should not be faster than 95.
  • Tauros should still be a consistent revenge killer.
  • Alakazam and Starmie should still be competitive special attackers with recover.
  • Snorlax should be the most consistent progress maker and flexible Pokemon in the tier.
  • Chansey should still be a consistent special tank.
  • Exeggutor should still have one of the strongest utility movepools.
Preserving this core group makes the mod accessible for people looking to get into it, but it also provides some benchmarks for Pokemon creation.

Pet Mod Concept: joltemons for bh
Explanation: predlc sv bh is unsurprisingly a hellscape. but even ndbh is haunted by stuff like adapt astral gengar-mega and centralized by fishious rend greninja, not counting various new crazy sv things like rage fist, orichalium pulse, and 8 pp recovery. this pet mod will aim for a more stable metagame by buffing stats and editing moves/abilities/items in joltemons free-slate style.

:sv/flutter-mane: IRONMONS :sv/iron-bundle:
In this new mod, we will make new Paradox forms for existing Pokémon, for Past and Future games.
Important Things about Paradox forms:

  • Paradox forms always have Iron in their names If they are Violet exclusives (ex: Iron Jugulis, Iron Bundle) but not if they are Scarlet exclusives (ex: Great Tusks, Flutter Mane, Roaring Moon)
  • Paradox forms always have 570 (except specific paradoxes that have important mega inspiration, thus having 590 BST)
  • Scarlet exclusives have ALL stats being odd, while Violet exclusives have ALL even stats.
  • Scarlet exclusives have Protosynthesis as their ability, and Violet exclusives have Quark Drive.
  • Paradox Pokémon can use the Energy Booster item to replicate their ability effects.
everything else is fair game!
We will aim for just a few Paradox Pokémon in this format, and it will be SV-based. Council will be decided when the mod gets running, but ive decided to get at least 2 members on it.

Pet Mod Name: G-Revival
Pet Mod Concept: A reboot of my early Gen 8 mod, Z-Revival (remember it?), but this time focusing on former Gigantamax Pokemon.
Explanation:
  • Every Pokemon (and their evolution families) listed below will be added to Gen 9 Regional Dex OU (if they are not already included).
  • Each of these pokemon will be given a new signature move. This move must be at least loosely based on the G-Max move.
  • In addition, in the spirit of Dynamax, you may increase the Base HP of each pokemon to up to double of what it currently is (EX: :venusaur: can have a minimum Base HP of 80 and a maximum of 160)
Miscellaneous:
  • Keep Gen 9 OU balance in mind when creating moves and especially when increasing HP.
  • HP will be capped at 255, but it will be most likely vetoed if it gets that high.
  • HP increases must be done to the final evolutions, not the pre-evolutions (even for Pikachu, Meowth, and Eevee).

Pet Mod Name: World of Evolutions
Pet Mod Concept: Create new traditional evolutions, baby Pokémon and branching evolutions for pre-established Pokémon.
Explanation: This is more a “for-fun” thing than a serious metagame, with being placed in NatDex format of Gen 9 (with banlist of latter) to allow more Pokémon that can get either a new evolution ot a pre-evolution. Based off the various past Pet Mods that gives new evolutions and pre-evolutions for already existing Pokémon, it aim at expending single-staged Pokémon or an existing line by either giving a new stage or a branched evolution.
  • No fourth stage evolutions, but you can evolve Pokémon that had a Mega Evolution; try to make the two distinct from each others.
  • Try not to buff Pokémon with already high stats all around as they will also benefit from Eviolite; if you do, you have to make sure the original Pokémon isn’t the one with already very bulky on both sides.
  • Branched evolutions or equivalent regional evolutions must have the same BST.
  • If a Branched Evolution evolves, all other branches must evolve. The maximum number of branches is 3, and cannot be branched further.
  • Evolutions must share at least one type with the pre-evolution.
  • New Pre-evolutions can be submitted, though try to only give them for Pokémon with higher stats already.
  • Custom moves and abilities must be easy to program.
  • Violations too severe can lead to vetoes at the council’s discretion.

Exceptions applies in special slates for marked in italic.
  • Starter Pokémon - Outside of regional variants, there’s never been a starter line with branched line before.
  • Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, Ultra Beasts and “Paradox Beasts” (Past and Future “cousins” of pre-existing Pokémon) - In general, they are special, powerful, and usually single-staged Pokémon with mysteries and wonders.
  • Smeargle - Sketch alone is a big tell. It can get a new pre-evo as a new LC Pokémon, but even then, be cautious about it.
  • Wishiwashi - Having both an abysmal BST in Solo Form but a high 620 BST as a School form would make for an effective evolution line balanced (or perhaps even crippled) by an effective lack of Ability, and trying to add a pre-evo or an evolution undermines the concept.
  • Finizen line - Palefin’s Zero to Hero gives it quite an overkill BST so… don’t push your luck with the line.
  • Ditto - I mean, Imposter is what makes it decent to great in any tier.
  • Shedinja - Unless you’re willing to replace Wonder Guard, a Shedinja evolution will be a complete nightmare to balance, especially in competitive.
  • Silvally - It’s considered a Legendary Pokémon alongside it’s pre-evolution, Type: Null, so I’m afraid I have to put it among the restricted.
  • Phione - Despite the debate, I consider it a Mythical Pokémon since it’s born from a Manaphy. Don’t worry, it’ll be part of a special slate!
  • Eevee - Already reached eight branching evolutions, but a special slate allows for two more for the Eeveelution fans out there.
  • Tyrogue - Already have three branching evolutions, but you can give a new evolution for Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee and Hitmontop.

:ss/magnezone: :ss/electivire: :ss/magmortar: :ss/steelix: :ss/farigiraf:
New Stage Evolution: Giving a higher evolution stage to a single-staged Pokémon, like how Dunsparce gets one in SV, or a firstly evolved Pokémon, like how Ursaring gets one in Legends: Arceus.

Brenched Evolutions: Adding another evolution for an original Pokémon with usually matching BST.

:ss/smoochum: :ss/chingling: :ss/budew: :ss/munchlax: :ss/wynaut:
Pre-Evolution (including Baby Pokémon): The opposite of a New Stage Evolution, a pre-evolution is the prior form given any eligible pre-established Pokémon.

  • No more than one self-vote.
  • Such self-vote must not be first place.
  • It cannot be your only vote; vote for another user’s submission if you want to self-vote
Bold = Mandatory, Bold-italic = Optional (no need to copy if not needed)

Name: (For pre-evolution, go for a simpler and shorter name)
(Pre-)Evolution of: (Must be an official Pokémon)
Type: (Must share at least one type; you may remove one for a pre-evolution)
Base Stats: 0 HP / 0 Atk / 0 Def / 0 SpA / 0 SpD / 0 Spe | 0 BST (Avoid going higher than 600 BST for normal forms; average new evolution BST tend to range from 490 to 520)
Abilities:
Movepool Addition: (Dexited moves can be used as it take place in NatDex; Hail is not recommeded, though)
Movepool Removal: (Only use if pre-evolution; delete otherwise)
Weight: (For moves like Low Kick; if not filled, it will be assumed to weight the same as the original)

Custom Element: (No need to use if not making any custom moves or abilities. Keep custom elements to a minimum!)

Design + Lore:
Height:
Competitive Theory:
Image is also optional, but very helpful for visual reference.
Miscellaneous: There will be a free-for-all slate for first slate, and then a themed slate for the second, free-for-all for third, themed for fourth, and so on. We enter playtesting phase every six slates or so.

A mod where the world, the items, and the Pokémon are all food! This will be it's own metagame, with essentially everything starting from scratch (not really but you get it).

The Pokémon franchise has had a number of food based Pokémon, so how about expanding that number? A Fighting type burger, a Dragon type made out of caramel, the choices are endless!

Here's most of the things that you'd find in the slates:

Pokémon slate a group of Pokémon with similar niches are chosen and people can decide up to 3 Pokémon to turn them into Foodmons. Kind of like picking food in a buffet.
Fakémon slate because what's a mod without it. Themes will be placed in a slate and we'll make fakémon based around them. Will probably have the same format as the Pokémon slate.
Item slate adjusting items! all the items will be food based, some signature and some not.
— We'll be adjusting some canon Foodmons too, and continue to do it until all the canon choices are out.

Here's how the slates would mostly look like!

Menu Name (Slate Theme)
Appetizer
Main Dish
Dessert
Drinks
Menu Specialty: Physical attacker etc etc etc
snacks were supposed to be here too but i didn't have it when i copy pasted the table. so just imagine it's there.

There will be plenty of choices, just like a buffet! And you'll only be able to pick three. The menu specialty will ask you to make specific roles or niches, but sometimes it'll be left blank depending on how the meta evolves.

After five days of submissions, votes are open for two days. It mostly depends on the number of votes we get.

A NatDex micrometa similar to Abilitypos; where instead of changing an Ability’s name, and subsequently its effect, we alter the names of Pokémon and change said Pokémon to fit their new name. I thought this could be pretty interesting considering how we have just had this kind of idea explored a bit in SV, with the Wiglett and Toedscool lines.
Notes regarding these type of Pokemon:
- Although the Wiglett and Toedscool lines have the same stat spread as their original forms, you are allowed to change stats here in order to differentiate the forms a bit more, but the original BST remain the same.
- Aside from the name, the typing, abilities, weight, height (although this isn't as relevant), weight, movepool, and Pokedex entry differ from their original forms.
- They are generally based on a different animal / object than the Pokémon they are based on, however, they resemble it in design.

A slate will occur as follows:
  1. Council will choose a set of Pokemon for submitters. Submitters will change the Pokemon’s name around to have a different meaning, while still being logical in context (For example, Slowbro to Snowbro) when compared to the original.
  2. Using the new name, submitters will then alter their chosen Pokemon by adjusting its stats, typing, moveset, and abilities to fit with the new name. However, the total BST should equal that of the original Pokemon - as stated before. Concept: Pet Mod aims to turn some of the Pokemon TCG Cards into pokemon. these could range from regular to any card, really! they would get a signature ability (either secondary, hidden, or a special event ability. this would need to be filled out for coding.) and a signature move. now, these are the complicated parts. since some cards have different types, abilities and moves, while still beeing a card of the exact same pokemon. while normally TCG pokemon cards only have 1 type, this would not be the case here. they would get their normal typing + have one of their types changed to match their card. to boost their viability, certain pokemon would have their stats raised. VMAX pokemon might be treated as megas, altho only getting +40 BST instead of 100. while for example, a BREAK pokemon could get +60 or even +100 like a mega. pokemon the submitter deems too strong with their initial stats can be nerfed to fit the power level accordingly. items may also be subbed. a pokemon can also be given new moves to fit their new typing, or to boost their viability. the same can go for abilities.

Name: (Ex Dedenne-GX)
Type: (ex electric/fairy)
Ability: (ex cheek pouch)
Stats:
Relevant Moves: (ex volt switch, moonblast, etc)
Competitive Role: (ex special wallbreaker)
Special Move(s): (ex none)
Special Ability(s): (ex none)
Description: (ex "supports its teammate with x, can wallbreak with x, etc")

:rs/kabutops:
Name: Kabutops-Delta
Type: Electric
Ability: Swift Swim / Defiant / (Filler)
Stats: 80 / 125 / 105 / 65 / 70 / 80 (525 BST)
Relevant Moves: Kabutops + Volt Tackle, U-Turn, Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, Thunderbolt | - (random fighting moves, stone edge, rock slide, etc)
Competitive Role: Rain Sweeper (Swords Dance), Set-Up Sweeper (Swords Dance)
Special Move(s): Vital Drain | Physical | 75 BP | 100 Accuracy | Electric | If this move causes a pokemon to faint, its user is cured of its status condition and heals 50% of the damage dealt.
Special Ability(s): none
Description: (dont need it since its just a example)

Miscellaneous: certain types got literally deleted, those beeing Ghost, Bug, Ice, Poison, Flying and Rock and Ground. Ghost pokemon become Psychic, Bug pokemon become Grass, Ice pokemon become Water, Poison pokemon can become either Dark or Psychic, Rock and Ground pokemon become Fighting, flying pokemon are mostly turned into Colorless types. (wich here would be the Normal type. making Crobat Dark/Normal.) it'd be a micrometa as well. some slates would be specifically dedicated to expanding role variety, speed tiers, type variety or just a fun special slate. such as a slate for BREAK pokemon, V-MAX pokemon, Dark pokemon, Delta pokemon, etc.

In true Red fashion, I’m subbing a second mod a bit after my first.

:bw/smeargle:Copydex :bw/rotom:
The purpose of this mod is to create new Pokemon using only a single Pokedex entry. The mod would visit each region for a duration of 3 slates, taking 3 to 5 subs each time, depending on voting results. Each slate in a given region has one of 3 different themes: Alternate Forms, Fakemon, and Evolutions.

Alternate Forms: As this implies, you take a Pokedex entry and make an Alternate form for the pokemon you got it from. For example, in the Alternate Form slate for Unova, someone may want to make an Alternate Cryogonal, so they'd take its dex entry from Shield (which says "When the weather gets hot, these Pokémon turn into water vapor. Cryogonal are almost never seen during summer.") to make a Water/Flying form with different moves, abilities, and stat distributions. You can also make an alternate evolution of its BST matches the canon evo (Like you can make an alternate Rockruff Evolution but its BST needs to match Lycanroc.)

Fakemon: Using a Pokedex entry from any Pokemon introduced in the provided generation, we'll submit entirely new Pokemon with just one requirement: the BST must stay the same.

Evolutions: You can take a dex entry from any Pokemon introduced in the provided generation that isn't a third stage evolution, and give it a new evolution. Just note that an evolution for a Pokemon that already has an evolution could be considered an alternate form of the canon evo, so it would fall under the first category. For example, in Sinnoh you could make a Toxicroak evolution but a Croagunk evo would just be considered Toxicroak's alternate form. (Note that you can give the evo as many stat points as you want, but you can’t decrease the BST and it’s BST may not go over 550. If you’re working on a special case like the Arcanine evo, which is a one stage evo with a BST over 550, you must keep the BST the same.)

The order of these slates would go something like this:

1: Kanto Forms
2: Kanto Fakemon
3: Kanto Evolutions
4: Johto Forms
5: JohtoFakemon
6: Johto Evos
7: Hoenn Forms …etc.

Each slate would bring not only the subs that were voted in, but the Pokémon the submissions were based on as well.

This is a very ambitious mod, with a lot of potential variables. If this gets approved I'll need a council that can dedicate themselves to making sure this mod can be the best it could be. Needless to say, Copydex council applications will open up if and when it gets approved.

Pet Mod Name: Building Character

Pet Mod Concept: In this mod, we will create pokemon based on the characteristics pokemon are assigned in-game.

Explanation: for every slate, users will create a pokemon based on a characteristic. For example, they will asked to create a pokemon based loosely off the characteristic "loves to eat". These characteristics are up for interpretation so "loves to eat" can be anywhere from a high hp pokemon to a pokemon that utilizes A berry strategy. Creativity is welcomed and encouraged because of this. Custom elements are allowed but balance will still be kept in mind as this will be micro-meta of 30 pokemon based off each of the characteristics.

Miscellaneous: I haven't decided if there will be a council but if some people are up for it @me on discord. This format is also natdex to give access to as many moves as possible when creating these pokemon.

Pet Mod Name: [Gen 6] Megas Revisited
Pet Mod Concept: In this Gen 6-based Pet Mod, we would remove every Mega Evolution, redesign them, and add them back to the OU metagame.
Explanation: Generation 6 was the first generation that I got super in to competitive Pokemon with, as I became a Pokemon fan in late Gen 5, so I basically don't remember a time with Mega Evolutions. Mega Evolution is still the most well-loved generational gimmick, breathing new life into a ton of Pokemon like Mawile, Lopunny, and Sableye, and making already good Pokemon even cooler, like Lucario and Tyranitar. But, as you'd imagine, not every Mega Pokemon was created equally. Some are still quite bad, and some were way too good. So, I figured that it would be interesting to take a look at Gen 6 OU, take away all of its Megas, thus turning it on its head, and then slowly reintroducing them through slates, playtesting, and discussion in order to create a new, hopefully fun metagame.

The mod would first start with a session of roomtours in Gen 6 OU with all Megas banned. While preferable, you don't need prior ORAS experience to contribute to this mod, as Gen 6 without Megas is a completely different metagame and we're the ones building it up. Because of that, these preliminary roomtours are extremely important in establishing what we need to do from the start. Just be sure you're aware of Gen 6's mechanics, particularly the fact that Megas use their base form's Speed (and ability, if it affects turn order like Chlorophyll or Prankster) on the turn they Mega Evolve.

Then, every slate I would introduce 3 Pokémon that had Megas and your job would be to redesign them for our new OU metagame, with a similar process and rules as Megas For All. For the sake of simplicity and replay viewability, these Megas would use the same design as their original form. All non-Uber Pokemon with Mega Evolutions would be slated, including one with banned Megas like Kangaskhan and Sableye. Just be sure to keep your submissions at an OU level. Then, we would vote on all the submissions, with the most popular getting in. There would also be a voting option for Megas that weren't Ubers to just add the original form instead.

Starting after Slate 3 or so, after every slate, we have roomtours to see where the metagame is at, make any necessary nerfs or buffs, then move on to the next slate. This would continue until we've introduced every Mega Evolution to Gen 6 OU. Additionally, there would be 1 slate at the end that adds a Mega Evolution to 3 Pokemon that lacked them before, both for fun and to fill any notable holes in the metagame. A slate for Mega Rayquaza, Mewtwo X & Y, and Blaziken would also take place if people are interested, though that slate would have no effect on the metagame as their base forms wouldn't get unbanned.
Miscellaneous:
- Would be run by a council

[Gen 9] Mad Science ( name half-by zxgzxg, thanks :) )
Mad Science is a mod where Fakemon/Changed Pokemon are submitted first, then randomly picked people are assigned to secretly change the Pokemon in private messages.

This mod would have two phases:

Phase 1: Creation Phase
This would go about your normal Pet Mod submissions, where players submit Fakemon or Pokemon that have been changed. You are allowed to make a Fakemon as long as it's balanced, but there are rules to changing existing Pokemon:
  • You may only give a Pokemon a maximum of +20 or -20 in a stat, and the BST must stay exactly the same
  • You may change a typing, however you MUST keep one of the original Pokemon's types (This also applies to Phase 2, so if someone submitted Grass/Fighting Meowscarada, a Scientist cannot change it to Ice/Fighting, as that would break the rule. Changing it to Dark/Fighting, however, is fine.)
  • If you give your Pokemon a new typing or change one of its existing typings, you may add up to 5 new moves that have the same typing as the new type, 10 for flavor, OR if you are changing a type, you may also remove up to 5 of its previously-STAB moves, 10 for flavor.
  • For non-STAB moves, you may give it up to 3, 5 for flavor.
  • (Please let me know if these rules are too strict)
Once everyone has submitted in a certain period of time, a voting slate would begin. We'd follow a voting format similar to Roulettemons from previous gen, where you may rank a maximum of 5 entries: Highest will get +5, next highest will get +4, the middle will get +3, etcetera, and there would be 3 winners, or more if there is a tie. Once voting concludes, the real fun begins...

Phase 2: Science Phase
This would be the sign-up phase. Once everyone has signed up in a 48-hour span, the OP would randomly assign 3 people (or more if there's a tie) to be a Scientist in PMs. Scientists will be randomly assigned a winning Pokemon/Fakemon to modify, however they must keep it in PMs. The rules for Scientists are mainly the same as Phase 1. Once the Scientists have submitted their changes, the modifications are revealed in the thread, which are applied to the winning entries. Then it goes on from there...

Misc
  • All slates will be themed similar to Clean Slate. This is to make sure the Scientists don't go off-topic with their modifications.
  • This would be run by a council, but PMing would be done by one person.

:ho-oh: Book of Enigmas :lugia:

:entei: The premise is simple: we’re taking Johto’s regional dex (based off HGSS’s dex, with the addition of cross gen evolutions, regional forms, and swarm Pokemon for added variety) and adding paradox Pokemon to it.
(For those unaware, paradox Pokémon are a new kind of Pokémon found in Scarlet and Violet that are essentially the past/future versions of a current-day Pokemon)
:moltres: The catch is that the paradox mons you’ll be submitting won’t be based on the past nor future. Instead, we’re using Ho-oh and Lugia’s themes of sky, rainbows and restoration, and sea, storms and corruption respectively to create paradox mon.

:raikou: Each slate, a maximum of four Pokémon from the regional dex can be submitted; two sky-based paradoxes and two sea-based paradoxes. Voting will be split into these two categories too, with users voting for as many sky and sea paradox mons as they’d like in their respective categories. The submission from each category that receives the most votes will win.
:zapdos: The first slate will be a short slate 0, where users will submit two custom abilities for all future sky and sea paradox mons to use - similar to Protosynthesis and Quark Drive. This gives the community time to try out the initial meta game before paradox submissions begin. These abilities will be voted in as pairs. Additionally, users will be able to submit a prefix or suffix for either sky or sea paradoxes to use, similar to how Violet paradoxes all start with “Iron-“. After that, regular slates will begin. Standard limits for paradox mons will apply, as well as some additional guidelines:

  • All submissions must have 570 BST - submissions that use mega Pokémon may use 590 BST, but it’s recommended that these types of submissions are made sparingly
  • All sky & sea paradox submissions must use their respective custom abilities
  • All sky paradox submissions must have odd-numbered stats, while all sea paradox submissions must have even-numbered stats
  • Submissions must use Pokémon from HGSS’ regional dex + swarm mons (ie. you can use Typhlosion, since it’s in HGSS’s dex, but you cannot use Corviknight)
  • Movepools will be assumed to be from the original Pokémon’s movepool, unless specified

Submissions:
Name: Big Bird
Original Pokemon: Wingull
Type: Fighting / Psychic
Ability: *placeholder*
Stats: 101/101/101/101/101/65 (570 BST)
Paradox: Sky

New Moves: Close Combat, Zen Headbutt
Removed Moves: Hydro Pump

Description: enormous bird.

Name: Blue Seagull
Original Pokemon: Wingull
Type: Water
Ability: *placeholder*
Stats: 100/100/100/100/100/70 (570 BST)
Paradox: Sea

New Moves: Dark Pulse
Removed Moves: Hurricane

Description: azure avian.

Ability Submission (only relevant for slate 0)

Voting:
:ho-oh: Sky: Submission 1, Submission 2, Submission 3, etc
:lugia: Sea: Submission 1, Submission 2, Submission 3, etc

:suicune: Extra notes:
  • Book of Enigmas will use gen 9 mechanics, including Tera. If Tera is found to be broken after playtesting, it will be banned
  • Asides from slate 0, there will be 10 slates
  • Slates will typically be promptless: any Pokemon can be submitted as a paradox. Some slates may use prompts though, in cases where the metagame is sorely lacking a certain role or type. or just for fun idk
  • Submissions do not have to be made in pairs: you may submit two sea paradoxes, two sky and one sea paradox, etc. Likewise, submissions won’t be voted in as pairs. The exception to this is slates that specifically ask for pairs of paradoxes
  • Custom moves are allowed. For slate 0, custom abilities will be submitted - custom items may also be submitted, so long as they only interact with the custom ability (like Booster Energy)

One more for the road

Pet Mod Name: Banhammers
Pet Mod Concept: A mod where roomtours are played and the banlist is totally decided by what each player in the roomtour wants banned, with (almost) no input from council.
Explanation: Do you ever play OU and get frustrated when the obviously broken Pokemon that you keep seeing hasn't gotten banned yet? Are you tired of how long it seems to take your favorite tier's council to get rid of stuff you don't like? Do you hate that nobody will listen to your complaints because you aren't a top player, or don't have time to go get high ladder replays to prove yourself? Don't you just wish that you could snap your fingers and your problems would go away? Then buddy do I have the mod for you.

In Banhammers, which would be Gen 9 OU-based, anything you complain about gets banned. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Every week, we play 2 roomtours, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. After each roomtour, everyone who played in it is allowed to ban a certain number of "things" based on how well they did. Those "things" are then banned and there's nothing council can do about it (as long as all the rules are followed). This continues for 4-5 weeks, with the metagame we have left at the end being what we have. From there, council will making tiering decisions on it like a normal tier, but nothing that the players banned during the roomtour period can be unbanned.

A "thing" is defined as any single Pokemon, move, item, or ability. Players can only ban 1 thing per point they receive from the roomtour. Players cannot unban anything, add or remove clauses, or ban anything that's not a Pokémon, move, item, or ability (like Terastal (if it's not banned in OU by the time the mod opens), natures, types, or genders). Bans are done anonymously, being sent to either me or another council member, and if two people ban the same thing, that thing is banned and the player who answered second does not get to ban another thing with that point. Players are not allowed to reveal what they ban or plan on banning publicly, or knowingly influence others' bans.

The point system is simple, no matter the kind of tour (Elimination or Round Robin), players get 1 point for finishing a game, plus 1 point for every game they win, and an additional point for winning the tournament. Finishing a game is defined as playing it to completion, or forfeiting at a point where you were guaranteed to lose. All points earned from a roomtour must be used before the next roomtour and unused points do not carry over.
Miscellaneous:
- Would be run by a council, but they'd just be there to make sure everyone's following the rules when it comes to bans until the tournament cycle is over
- Would have multiple cycles over the course of the generation as updates like HOME and DLC occur

Pet Mod Name: [Gen 3] ADV Micro
Pet Mod Concept: In this Pet Mod, we'd look at all Gens of Pokémon, and pick 75 (3 per slate) to make a Gen 3 micrometa.
Explanation: Stats, Abilities, and learnsets would be not be updated to later Gen standards unless approved (with each individual change being carefully picked). We would then nerf/buff the mons to make a balanced metagame. Anything (besides Pokemon) that does not exist in Gen 3 would not be eligible, meaning adding Stealth Rock, for instance, to a mon would not be possible. This does mean that one or two Gen 3 Abilities will have to be given to Pokemon with only Gen 4+ Abilities. There would be a slate per week, 4 days for submissions, and 3 for voting.
Miscellaneous: The council would be just me until I find 1 or 2 other people to help out.

Work!
Well if Yoshi is going to sub two... ;)

Pet Mod Name: Rule of 3
Pet Mod Concept:
TLDR: what if all Pokemon were designed with limited, but unique, coverage options?
Explanation: This mod attempts to create a new power level in a fakemon micrometa by following the rule of 3. The rule of 3 requires that all Pokemon can only learn moves (both damaging and non-damaging) that are:
  • their STAB types
  • Normal type
  • moves of three types provided at the start of a slate
Each slate will list three combinations of 3 types that form the 'rule of 3'. A fakemon is then designed around having a STAB (and accompanying Normal type moves) at compliment the three types. The three combinations will not repeat throughout the mod (so every mon will have unique coverage), but given that there are over 4000 combinations, we will not cover all possible combinations.
  • Additionally, if the submitter subs a Pokemon with a Normal type, they get to add another Type's moves to the Pokemon's learnset (so the learnset would consist of Normal, the specified three types and another type of choice)
  • AND, if the submitter subs a Mono Normal type, they get to add an additional Type's moves to the learnset (so it would consist of Normal, the three types and TWO types of choice)
Here are some brief examples:
Rule of 3 Types: Fire, Grass, Electric

Fakemon 1: A Water/Ground defensive pivot with to Will-o-Wisp, Sleep Powder and Thunderbolt.
Fakemon 2: A Normal/Ice offensive wallbreaker with Fire Blast, Strength Sap, Electro Drift and Quiver Dance
Fakemon 3: A Normal speed control with Fire Blast, Grassy Glide, Thunder Cage, U-Turn and Toxic

Note that you aren't limited to one move of each Rule of 3 type; I just didn't want to write every possible option. There would also be a few different type combinations each slate so people have multiple things to sub for.

Miscellaneous: Council-led project like normal. Am open to working with people who want to run it with me.

Pet Mod Name: Burst Wishes
Pet Mod Concept: Pokemon ReBurst was a 2011 manga series whose entire premise involved an original cast of characters battling it out via Burst, a transformation process wherein the users fused with Pokemon sealed inside Burst Hearts. In our timeline it remained as a semi-obscure novelty, largely forgotten to the sands of time and not getting an official English translation. But what if this wasn't the case? In the reality this Pet Mod imagines, Burst was the first big flashy battle mechanic, beating Kalos' Mega Evolutions to the punch by debuting in BW1 and being expanded upon in BW2.
Explanation: BW2 OU-based mod that adapts Bursting as a gameplay mechanic. Like Mega Evolution and GMaxes it will be given to an exclusive group of Pokemon that can use it mostly composed of fully evolved Unova mons but with some extras from Gens 1-4. No prerequisite knowledge of the manga's characters and storyline is required - you just have to understand the custom mechanics and submit with them in mind.

Speaking of which, here are said mechanics. These are still susceptible to tweaks based on community feedback.
-Eligible Pokemon start out in the party, usable as normable but with a "Seal" button like Dynamax/Z-Moves
-When this button is pressed, the Pokemon is placed inside the player's Burst Heart. An animation plays of them being crystallized (obviously conveyed more abstractly on Showdown) before they are swapped out to another Pokemon of the player's choice. This is tantamount to KOing the Pokemon and their only action for that turn.
-After this point, whenever you are asked to switch in a Pokemon there will be a "Burst!" button underneath your 5 remaining normal party members. Upon doing so, the sealed Pokemon and the player fuse and enter the battle.
-Bursts start at full HP regardless of what the Pokemon fusee was at prior to being sealed.
-All Bursts are Normal + one of the Pokemon's types and gain their ability, movepool and their own stat block based on the base's but personally modified
-Stat modifications should ideally take the Pokemon in a different direction functionally, but not so much so that its base moveset becomes useless. For example, a Zekrom burst could have a statline of 100/130/140/100/110/100 compared to the base's 100/150/120/120/100/90.

Essentially, I envision Burst as a sort of wacky pseudo-revival where the catch is that you have to prepare the base moveset to work with both statlines and replacing one STAB with Normal. The incentivization to use Return is very much deliberate!

Miscellaneous:
-Total Burst Form count will be like 50-60
1669435364520.png
1669435371838.png

-Sprites would be fusions of the eligible Pokemon with Nate & Rosa. If anyone has ideas on how to have the simulator recognize which one to use, let me know!
-Like I said above, last-minute mechanics suggestions are appreciated and welcomed.
-And yes, one of them will be Charizard.

Mod Name: Type of Abilities
Mod Concept: Currently, there are a few non-signature abilities that can only be found on Pokemon of a certain type. This mod aims to expand on that concept, creating new abilities so that each type has 5 unique abilities.
Mod Explanation:
1. New abilities will be created for each typing, with existing type abilities continuing to be used as well. (sorry Grass-type enthusiasts, ya'll already have the required amount)
2. All the current ability pools of mons will be deleted, and will be able to choose any ability to use of their typing. (Meaning that dual-typed Pokemon will have a pool of 10 abilities)
3. Since monotype Pokemon will have less abilities to choose from, they will have access to an exclusive ability, which will generally be stronger than the others.
4. Despite the weird state the format is in right now, the mod will be a Nat Dex based mod.
In-Battle Form Rules:
1. Since most abilities are now gone, ability based form changes will be changed. The forms will now be considered as out-of-battle forms.
2. Non-ability based forms (including Megas) will keep the same ability that its base form has, even if the new form is of a different type.

:sv/wugtrio:Pokétypos:sv/toedscruel:

(For example, I could change Slowbro’s typing from Water/Psychic to Ice/Ground, while giving it Snow Warning and making it faster to make more logical sense as Snowbro).

Having a past gen mod is a good way to open the gen as it gives us time to adjust to the new mons. That aside, its a fairly interesting take on an old gen so as to keep its identity while adding new things. Approved!

:venusaur-mega::charizard-mega-y::blastoise-mega:

Much like the mod above, this is a great take on redesigning an old metagame through a Pet Mod and brings to life a pretty unique metagame idea. Approved!

:articuno: Council:
We are not currently accepting more council members; thank you all for your interest in the mod!
:wingull: Albatross (leader, creator, supreme overlord)
:teddiursa: Ema Skye (incomparably worse at funny flavour text than our supreme overlord )
:donphan: Gekokeso (Sacrificed 80 swans to the supreme overlord to get the position)
:slither-wing: Regic Boat (the wins were gourgillion)
:wo-chien: Bloopyghost (definitively less cool and talented than the supreme overlord)
also btw i didn’t choose everyone’s funny flavour text, they all choose to write those things and I had no say in it at all x
Lastly, we have a really popular submission that greatly combines Pet Mods' concepts of creativity and unique metas through a very fun idea that should result in a really interesting mod. Approved!

That's it for this wave, enjoy your brand new Gen 9 Mods!
