[SET COMMENTS]
With an excellent offensive and defensive typing, acceptable Attack, and a great offensive movepool alongside Defiant, Pawniard is a solid deterrent against Defog users such as Articuno and Altaria lacking Flamethrower. However, Pawniard needs to be wary of pivoting and coverage due to its low bulk even with Eviolite. Swords Dance makes Pawniard even harder to switch into, making it a scary cleaner late-game. Knock Off is not only its primary attack, but also cripples walls like Tangela and Galarian Stunfisk. Most importantly, it cripples switch-ins reliant on Heavy-Duty Boots like Rapidash, Miltank, and Alolan Persian. Sucker Punch is useful late-game for sweeping through weakened foes like Froslass and Jynx.

Pawniard synergizes nicely with Pokemon that can provide entry hazards, such as Qwilfish, Palossand, and Stunfisk. Roselia pairs particularly well, as Pawniard can punish Defog attempts from Altaria and Articuno, while Roselia can switch into Stunfisk, Sawk, and Rhydon. Physical attackers like Swords Dance Rapidash and Silvally formes can capitalize on Pawniard's Knock Off support and clean up teams late-game. Rapid Spin users like Morpeko and Cryogonal can clear hazards while keeping their own for Pawniard to take advantage of.

Pawniard has no other viable options.

Checks and Counters

**Fighting-types**: Gurdurr and Poliwrath can stomach +2 Iron Head without too much trouble and can force it out with their STAB moves. Offensive Fighting-types like Sawk and Silvally-Fighting outspeed Pawniard, resist Sucker Punch, and easily KO it.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Without enough residual damage, walls like Miltank and Palossand can either whittle Pawniard down or outright KO it. They can set up Stealth Rock to capitalize on their good matchup against it.

**Fire-types and Fire-type coverage**: Though none of them like switching into Knock Off, Fire-types like Ninetales, Rapidash, and Coalossal can pick it off with ease. The latter two can potentially burn Pawniard with Flame Body. Pawniard also has to watch out for coverage moves like Mystical Fire and Flamethrower from Pokemon it switches into, such as Alcremie and Altaria.

**Faster Pokemon**: Even with Eviolite, faster Pokemon can take advantage of its low bulk and can pick it off without much prior damage. Examples include Lycanroc-N, Silvally-Poison, and Kangaskhan.

Knock Off is not only its primary attack, but also cripples walls like Tangela and Galarian Stunfisk you missed the most important thing about koff, it removes boots from the likes of rapidash and miltank so they take more hazard damage. Iron Head targets Fairy-types like Alcremie and Galarian Rapidash. fluff Sucker Punch picks off weakened foes like Silvally-Poison and Jynx. sucker punch is used as a way to sweep through faster attackers more than to revenge kill tbf.

Pawniard synergizes nicely with Pokemon that can provide hazards, such as Qwilfish, Palossand, and Stunfisk. Roselia pairs particularly well, as Pawniard can punish Defog attempts from Altaria and Articuno, while Roselia can switch into Stunfisk, Sawk, and Rhydon with ease. Pawniard can remove Heavy-Duty Boots with Knock Off and make it more difficult for hazard removers to consistently remain healthy to do their jobs. that's for set details Defensive Poliwrath helps discourage most Fire- and Fighting-types, and can help rack up entry hazard damage with Circle Throw while also scaring out Rhydon and Piloswine. In return, Pawniard can scare out Fairy-types like Alcremie and Clefiary, which would otherwise completely wall Poliwrath. To be honest, Pawniard's team are already quite restrained with their slots and generally don't have the room to fit nicher walls like Poliwrath. Instead of Poliwrath, I'd rather mention other physical attackers appreciating Pawniard crippling and weakening walls in early game like SD Rapidash and Silvally formes. Rapid Spin users like Cryogonal and Morpeko can clear hazards while keeping their own for Pawniard to abuse.

A Jolly nature allows Pawniard to outspeed Timid Exeggutor and Lunatone, though Pawniard would need more residual damage to help secure KOs. irrelevant since you already threaten them out with sucker punch. i'd rather say pawniard has no viable OO.

**Faster Pokemon**: Even with Eviolite, faster Pokemon can take advantage of its low bulk and can pick it off with coverage not necessarly coverage, Pawniard is so frail that it gets OHKOed or 2HKOed by most neutral hits. Examples include Lycanroc-N, Silvally-Poison, and Morpeko.

Knock Off is not only its primary attack, but also cripples walls like Tangela and Galarian Stunfisk, but makes staying healthy for the aforementioned hazard removers difficult. (Pawniard isn't going to be Knocking Articuno ever and will very rarely Knock Alt since pawniard forces them out. It's better to mention other Heavy-Duty Boots Pokemon that would switch into Pawniard such as Rapidash, Miltank, and Alola Persian.) Sucker Punch is useful late-game for sweeping through weakened foes like Froslass and Jynx.
