VOTES ARE finally CLOSED.
Yeah, we really took a lot of time doing this. I'm sorry for this and I'll admit it was mainly procrastination (at least that's the case with me). Once again sorry for that, but let's not cry over the spilled milk and welcome our winner...
oh hey i get to reuse a sub epic

Universal Moves: Attract, Endure, Facade, Protect, Rest, Round, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute
"It wanders alone, seeking powerful foes to challenge. Its huge blade-like claws are sharp enough to slice through even a Bastiodon's face armor."
"While it may be fearsome, this Pokémon feeds only on plants that it cuts up with its claws. It sharpens its claws on boulders as a part of its daily routine."

Terrorzino is based off of Therizinosaurus, a herbivorous theropod dinosaur with large claws that were likely used to manipulate vegetation and to defend itself either through intimidation or direct combat. Therizinosaurus lived during the late Cretaceous in what is now known as the Nemegt formation in the Gobi desert, having notably lived alongside the apex predator Tarbosaurus.

For the design, I decided to evoke an armored samurai to play up the claws and Steelworker.
Role: WIP

Teenizino
"Teeny-tiny" + "Therizinosaurus"
"Tee-nee-zee-noh"
Typing:

Universal Moves: Attract, Endure, Facade, Protect, Rest, Round, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute

"Its short arms are ineffective for defending itself, so its only means of avoiding predation is to flee as quickly as possible."
"It swallows mineral-rich stones to aid in digesting tough plant matter. These minerals are also essential for developing this Pokémon's metallic claws."

In contrast with its evolution, Teenizino has nubby little arms and is meant to evoke a ninja.
i dunno if i'll do art for the rest of these tho

Pharaocious
"Pharaoh" + "Ferocious"
"Feh-row-shuhs"
Dinosaur: Spinosaurus
Typing:

Universal Moves: Attract, Endure, Facade, Protect, Rest, Round, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute
"Ruler of the sun-baked deserts, it effortlessly swims through sand in pursuit of its prey. Its large sail shines a radiant gold under the sun."
"Its long narrow snout ensures that prey cannot escape its jaws. Its hide flares up to 4500 degrees F when it is enraged."

Pharaocious is based off of Spinosaurus, specifically S. aegyptiacus which has only been found in Egypt as the species name implies. Similar to Garchomp, Hippowdon and Krookodile; I decided to make this aquatic apex predator a sand dweller which further ties into the Egyptian theme. Crocodiles were revered and feared by the ancient Egyptians which also fits an animal with very crocodilian features.

The BST is the same as Tyrantrum-Apex's along with having similar stat values as a reference to the T. rex vs. Spinosaurus battle in Jurassic Park 3.
Role: WIP
Sailad
"Sail" + "Lad"
"Sayl-ahd"
Typing:

Abilities: Mummy | Sand Force
Stats: 58 HP / 50 Atk / 75 Def / 89 SpA / 45 SpD / 50 Spe / 367 BST

Universal Moves: Attract, Endure, Facade, Protect, Rest, Round, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute

"It wanders about sandy plains, snapping at anything that gets near its jaws. Its relatives are aquatic, having diverged from them long ago."
"Despite similarities to Sandile of the present day, the two are only distantly related."

The stats here are taken directly from Tyrunt-Apex's, again cause Jurassic Park 3.

Melophus
"Melody" + "Parasaurolophus"
"Meh-law-phuhs"
Dinosaur: Parasaurolophus
Typing:

Abilities: Pastel Veil | Liquid Voice
Stats: 110 HP / 70 Atk / 90 Def / 90 SpA / 70 SpD / 95 Spe / 525 BST
Weight: 172 kg

Defining Moves: Aromatherapy, Boomburst, Defog, Dragon Tail, Giga Drain, Healing Wish, Leaf Storm, Leech Seed, Light Screen, Moonblast, Reflect, Synthesis
Subobtimal Moves: Absorb, Body Slam, Brick Break, Brutal Swing, Bubble Beam, Bullet Seed, Confide, Dazzling Gleam, Disarming Voice, Dive, Echoed Voice, Energy Ball, Giga Impact, Grass Knot, Grassy Glide, Grassy Terrain, Guard Swap, High Horsepower, Horn Attack, Horn Leech, Hyper Beam, Hyper Voice, Mega Drain, Megahorn, Misty Explosion, Misty Terrain, Muddy Water, Nature Power, Payback, Power Swap, Psych Up, Rain Dance, Revenge, Roar, Rock Slide, Rock Smash, Rock Tomb, Safeguard, Seed Bomb, Skull Bash, Solar Beam, Stone Edge, Stored Power, Sunny Day, Supersonic, Vine Whip, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Whirlpool, Work Up, Worry Seed
Universal Moves: Attract, Endure, Facade, Protect, Rest, Round, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute
"It favors living near marshes and rivers so that it can always have water to drink and cool off with. When attacked by predators such as Tyrantrum, it runs on its hind legs."
"It loudly honks with others of its own kind with the help of its tubular crest. Certain plants react in different ways when exposed to its cries."

Melophus is based off of Parasaurolophus, a hadrosaur famous for its tubular crest on which there is much speculation on. One of the common theories is that the crest is a resonating chamber to amplify the animal's cry, which was the inspiration for Boomburst. Prior to the 1960's Parasaurolophus was mistaken by some paleontologists as an aquatic animal that lived in swamps, while it is now definitively known as a terrestrial creature due to its body plan and weight, this idea inspired both Liquid Voice and the addition of some Water moves.
Role: WIP
Honkeri
"Honk" + "walkeri (the most famous Parasaurolophus species)" + cry"
"Hohnk-ehr-eye"
Typing:

Abilities: Pastel Veil | Liquid Voice
Stats: 55 HP / 50 Atk / 50 Def / 50 SpA / 50 SpD / 55 Spe / 310 BST
Weight: 37 kg

Moves: Absorb, Aromatherapy, Boomburst, Bubble Beam, Bullet Seed, Confide, Defog, Disarming Voice, Dive, Dragon Tail, Echoed Voice, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Grassy Glide, Grassy Terrain, Healing Wish, Horn Attack, Horn Leech, Hyper Voice, Leaf Storm, Leech Seed, Light Screen, Mega Drain, Muddy Water, Nature Power, Payback, Rain Dance, Reflect, Roar, Safeguard, Seed Bomb, Solar Beam, Sunny Day, Supersonic, Synthesis, Vine Whip, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Whirlpool, Work Up, Worry Seed
Universal Moves: Attract, Endure, Facade, Protect, Rest, Round, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute

"Its head bears a small horn in the shape of a lump. This horn will grow longer as it nears evolution."
"Its beak-like mouth can shred apart tough vegetation. Since its horn is too small to serve as a resonation chamber, its honks are quite squeaky."
No, you're not seeing triple, Bloopyghost won with Therizinosaurus, Spinosaurus and Parasaurolophus! Let's congratulate our fellow with this BLOOPILLION sweep. See you all on the next post (hopefully it will not take too long for it).

Alright, y'all. Today's a big day for Paleomons, and that's because this is our final slate!! Introducing

Ancient Disasters!
1667479427277.png
1667479445787.png
1667479478650.png

The meteor, the volcano, the ice age. When you think of dinosaurs, you can't help but think about the natural disasters that may have ended them, and we feel that's the perfect way to finish this mod! However, this isn't just any old Fakemon slate. No, this is in fact an Ancient Forms slate! Your goal is to submit an Ancient Form of a previously existing Pokemon, fitting the theme of these three disasters: Meteor, Volcano, Ice Age. Keep in mind that since Ancient Forms are essentially regional variants, the BST of your submission must be the same as the mon it is based on. The end of this slate will be coming with a massive balance patch, so please do your best to make balanced and competitively interesting submissions! We would love to have the mod be fully playable and fun at its conclusion. Thank you all for the contributions you've made to our mod, and happy subbing!

Made my first sub so fast I'm double posting !

:xy/noivern:
Name: Noivern-Ancient
Disaster Concept: Meteor
Typing:

Abilities: Frisk / Infiltrator | Flame Body
Stats: 85 / 60 / 97 / 90 / 80 / 123 [535 BST]

New Moves: Fire Blast, Flame Charge, Flare Blitz, Meteor Beam, Overheat, Will-O-Wisp
Removed Moves: All Dragon moves except Draco Meteor, Dragon Dance, and Outrage

Role: Every Flying type in the tier is either Fighting-neutral or part Fairy, and we wonder why Armaldo is such a pain to deal with. Noivern-Ancient still dies instantly to Stone Edge, but it at least forces the Armaldo player to predict, something that couldn't really be said up until now. Besides Armaldo, Noivern is a pretty great blanket physical wall in the tier, with Flame Body meaning opponents can't just throw out strong physical hits for free. Additionally, Noivern's amazing speed tier means it can serve well as a revenge killer and pivot, coming in on weakened breakers and picking them off with powerful STAB Fire Blasts and Hurricanes. Meteor Beam sets are funny and serve as the best fruity pebbles abuser this side of Alohwo.
Flavor: Ancient Noivern would soar high in the stratosphere. When they spotted a potential meal they would dive-bomb it, reaching terminal velocity and cooking their prey on impact.

:ss/orbeetle:
Name: Orbeetle-Thermal
Disaster Concept: Volcano
Typing:

Abilities: Swarm / Flash Fire | Magma Armor
Stats: 60 / 45 / 90 / 110 / 120 / 80 [505 BST]

New Moves: Earthquake, Earth Power, Eruption, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Power Gem, Rock Slide, Scorching Sands, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Will-O-Wisp
Removed Moves: All Psychic moves except Calm Mind, Rest, and Trick Room

Role: Amazing special wall, Flygon counter, and CM cleaner. Bug/Ground with Flash Fire blanks a ton of mons, and Ground/Fire coverage is crazy, particularly after a Flash Fire boost. Bulk is still pretty exploitable on the physical side and it's still a Bug type, so it's nowhere near unstoppable.
Flavor: Orbeetle with a volcano on its back

:rs/sceptile:
Name: Sceptile-Evergreen
Disaster Concept: Ice Age
Typing:

Abilities: Overgrow | Thick Fat
Stats: 90 / 95 / 70 / 50 / 105 / 120 [530 BST]

New Moves: Dark Pulse, Hail, Ice Beam, Knock Off, Spikes, Spiky Shield, Triple Axel, U-Turn
Removed Moves: None

Role: All of our defensive Darks suck besides Carracosta, and it's physdef, and I'm tired of losing to Mega Trobsidon. So here's the solution: Thick Fat Grass/Dark with recovery. Tank every hit, hit back for massive damage, and check Illusinogen as well in the process. What's not to love? You can also run Dragon Dance sets for the funny, but your coverage options aren't great.
Flavor: Ancient Sceptile was forced to find a way to survive in a cold, unforgiving land, so it became something of a binge eater, absorbing as much sunlight as possible every time the sun was out and opportunistically stealing food from other Pokemon, all to build up reserves for the harsh winter months.

:xy/sceptile-mega:
Name: Sceptile-Evergreen-Mega
Typing:

Abilities: Intimidate
Stats: 90 / 125 / 90 / 50 / 130 / 145 [630 BST]

Role: Archeops is the fastest mon no longer! Epic offensive pivot with tons of bulk and defensive utility, but more than enough power to keep up the pressure. Just be careful not to switch into a stray U-Turn and you're golden.

Ability: Light Power
is a Pre-Contributor
:minior:
Name: Minior-Ancient
Disaster Concept: Meteor
Typing: Flying / Psychic
Ability: Meteor Armor
Meteor Armor - Functions similarly to Shields Down, but instead of immunity to non-volatile status ailment, the wielder is immune to Rock-type moves and Stealth Rock damage on Meteor form (higher than 1/2 of max HP).
Stats (Meteor): 70 HP (+10) / 70 Atk (+10) / 90 Def (-10) / 50 SpA (-10) / 100 SpD / 60 Speed | 440 BST
Stats (Core): 70 HP (+10) / 110 Atk (+10) / 60 Def / 70 SpA (-30) / 60 SpD / 130 Speed (+10) | 500 BST

New Moves: Psyshock, Psycho Cut, Flame Charge, Flare Blitz, Defog, Psycho Drop*
Psycho Drop - Psychic - Physical - 120 Base Power - 85% Accuracy - 8 PP - User charges up, increasing their Attack stat by one stage, and become semi-invulnerable first turn, and then attack second turn. Any move that can hit a Pokémon using Fly, Bounce or Sky Drop can hit the user.
Removed Moves: Rollout, Stealth Rock, Power Gem, Take Down, Solar Beam, Sandstorm

Role: Set-up sweeper, lategame sweeper
Ancient Minior can set-up with Shell Smash, then uses either Acrobatics or Psycho Drop. It requires having less than 50% HP to sweep, but being immune to all Entry Hazards, including Stealth Rocks if on Meteor form, allows it to hold Focus Sash, Power Herb or White Herb to set-up more easily.
:duraludon:
Name: Duraludon-Ancient
Disaster Concept: Volcano
Typing: Fire / Dragon
Abilities: Berserk / Mold Breaker | Stalwart
Stats: 70 HP / 120 Atk (Swapped with SpA) / 60 Def (-55) / 95 SpA (Swapped with Atk) / 105 SpD (+55) / 85 Speed | 535 BST

New Moves: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Flare Blitz, Scale Shot, Scorching Sands, Overheat, Fire Lash, Earthquake, Eruption
Removed Moves: Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Metal Sound, Metal Burst, Metal Claw, Iron Head, Steel Roller, Thunderbolt, Thunder

Role: Physical wallbreaker
Having to set their metal ablaze to survive the volcanic eruptions, Duraludon’s ancestor is more physical inclined with Mold Breaker to break through Unaware, Disguise, Levitate, Multiscale, Solid Rock and other defensive abilities. Fire Lash allows it to be a reliable, recoil free STAB by constantly lowering the target’s Defense each hit, making it pressuring for walls to stay for long.
:ledian:
Name: Ledian-Ancient
Disaster Concept: Ice Age
Typing: Ice / Bug
Abilities: Swarm / Comatose | Pure Power
Stats: 60 HP (+5) / 50 Atk (Swapped with SpA -5) / 50 Def (-5) / 40 SpA (Swapped with Atk + 5) / 110 SpD / 85 Speed | 390 BST

New Moves: Icicle Crash, Triple Axel, Ice Shard, Ice Ball, Megahorn, Glacier Smash, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, Blizzard
Glacier Smash - Ice - Physical - 130 BP - 90% Accuracy - 16 PP - If user missed, it takes crash damage of 50% max HP.
Removed Moves: None

Role: Physical wallbreaker (Pure Power) / Defog / Screen user (Comatose)
Dealing with horrid defensive type and low BST with Pure Power or Comatose and powerful STABs. Pure Power allows for BoltBeam coverage (Thunder Punch + Ice Punch / Triple Axel / Ice Shard / Glacier Smash), and Comatose can be useful for more supporting roles.

Ledyba is available but only as it’s own normal form, no Ancient Ledyba. It evolves into Ancient Ledian in a harsh, cold environment.

You might not have expected so see this so soon, but council has been discussing how we're pushing for the subs in this slate to be as positive for the meta as possible, and we realized that with the current state of the meta, that would be pretty hard to do. So, we’ve decided to announce the balance patch early, in the hopes that submissions for this slate can be tailored around the new meta. Please do give these a read-through if you're planning on submitting/already have submitted for this slate.

Underbrush Tactics: This Pokemon's Dark-type moves become Grass type and are boosted by 1.2x.

Blossobite is a victim of the meta. Two of the tier's top bulky Waters are Grass-neutral, most offensive mons are as well, and generally Grass SuckerSuit just isn't very valuable. With this Attack boost and ability buff, hopefully Blossobite will now be able to trap frailer offensive mons with even neutral hits, while still being balanced against defensive mons since uh, Grass kinda sucks offensively.

Dodrumb
84 / 74 / 104 / 84 / 64 / 64 --> 94 / 74 / 104 / 94 / 64 / 64

We heavily overrated Dodrumb's abilities. Unaware doesn't matter when you lack relevant resistances and aren't bulky enough to tank unboosted hits without being at full HP, and Simple is irrelevant when your coverage is awful and you're so weak that you can't 3HKO the tier's bulky Steels at +2. These stat buffs should make both sets much better, though still niche.

Ghoulpion
70 / 90 / 110 / 65 / 75 / 80 --> 70 / 90 / 110 / 65 / 85 / 80

Ghoulpion's fallen behind the other defensive Waters as of late, partly because of Listoxina's dominance (more on that later), and partly because the tools it brings to the table just aren't all that valuable. Hopefully making its special bulk a bit less exploitable will give players a reason to consider it again.

Mamoswine-Ancient
+Earthquake

Nature is healing. Mamoswine struggles with poor coverage in a meta where quite a few mons resist its dual STABs, and returning one of the moves it lost from the form change will hopefully help that. Makes Bastio counter Tar even harder though lol.

Omastar-Ancient
85 / 105 / 95 / 55 / 75 / 80 --> 65 / 105 / 105 / 55 / 85 / 80
+Earthquake, +Psychic Fangs

If this can learn Earth Power it can learn Earthquake. Omastar hasn’t been good since slate 2, mainly because that was about the time we started getting real defensive mons. Some nifty new coverage tools should help it break past some common nuisances in Anklarmor and Listoxina, while still leaving it room to struggle with mons like Bastiodon. The stat reshuffling may slightly lower its overall bulk, but also allows it to much better abuse Bloodsuck Venom Drain, giving it a more unique niche as a Dragon Dance user with longevity, particularly when compared to Drakabyssal.

Relicanth-Scorched
85 / 60 / 80 / 85 / 75 / 100 --> 85 / 40 / 80 / 110 / 70 / 100

Relicanth has never really been usable, as its poor bulk combined with rather mediocre offensive pressure left it often overshadowed by more consistent breakers. A massive increase in Special Attack means it can hit like a truck against unprepared teams, while also making Meteor Beam sets a great deal scarier.

Walrein-Ancient
+Icicle Crash

This mon not having a real physical Ice STAB was tragic.

Yanmega-Ancient
85 / 110 / 70 / 110 / 70 / 70 --> 85 / 110 / 70 / 90 / 70 / 90
+Gunk Shot

Yanmega has a lot of problems, but it also has a 150 BP Physical Dragon STAB move, so any balancing has to be very careful. We thought we’d done it right on the last balance patch, but unfortunately Yanmega was still terrible. Much higher Speed means it can finally outrun the entire unboosted meta with a Scarf, as well as opening up non-Scarf sets much more. Gunk Shot means it has a perfect coverage tool for the Fairies that hardwalled it in the past, but its overreliance on prediction to do meaningful damage should still balance it.

Nerfs:

Aerodactyl-Ancient
80 / 105 / 70 / 60 / 80 / 130 --> 80 / 95 / 70 / 60 / 80 / 130

Aerodactyl has always been controversial, but the sheer damage it can do combined with the fact that we’re nerfing all of its main checks makes an Attack nerf very much in order.

Anklarmor
-Moonlight

Anklarmor is a great defensive mon, but it having recovery on top of its stellar defensive profile is simply too much going for it. This fixes that.

Bastiodon-Overgrown
80 / 75 / 101 / 111 / 116 / 20 --> 70 / 75 / 101 / 111 / 116 / 30
-Knock Off

This Pokemon has warped the metagame more than any other, and for good reason. Adding what is essentially better Ferrothorn to a meta that, before its inclusion, was decidedly sub-OU in power level is absolutely absurd, and it showed. Even after its initial bulk nerf, this Pokemon continues to live hits it has no business living, and more importantly avoid far too many 2HKOs with the massive amounts of passive recovery it gets from Grassy Terrain + Leftovers + Leech Seed. Losing 10 HP, as well as one of its better (but entirely lacking in flavor) utility moves in Knock Off, should make it much more manageable, as well as giving the tier’s other Steels more breathing room.

Drakabyssal
100 / 110 / 85 / 65 / 105 / 65 --> 100 / 100 / 85 / 65 / 105 / 65

This Pokemon has no business being as strong as it is. Guts DD sets are absurdly difficult to slow down, Mold Breaker ignores the tier’s many Water immunities, the list goes on. When adding on to all of that the fact that we’re nerfing most of its better checks, it only makes sense for this Pokemon to go up on the chopping block as well.

Flygon-Classical
80 / 80 / 80 / 100 / 80 / 100 --> 80 / 90 / 80 / 90 / 80 / 100

You asked, and we delivered. While it’s certainly true that one major reason for Flygon’s dominance is a lack of proper walls (particularly good defensive Bug types), and that that is likely to be corrected once this slate and the last slate are coded, council still feels that Flygon would be much easier for teams to play around if it were a bit weaker. Beware the physical Flygon!

Garchomp-Persistent
Persistence: If this Pokemon doesn’t damage its target with an attacking move, its Attack raises one stage. This effect doesn’t occur if this Pokemon is charging.

My only regret is that we didn’t do this sooner. While Bastiodon was the most meta-warping addition to Paleomons, Garchomp is by far the most broken. The ability to set up for free every turn, especially combined with a bug that made charge moves raise Garchomp’s Attack two stages, made walling Garchomp literally impossible, and games with it came down to ‘how badly does the Garchomp user misplay with it?’, which isn’t fun for anyone. After this nerf, Garchomp is likely still broken, but at least seeing it on preview is no longer an auto-loss.

Listoxina
125 / 60 / 75 / 80 / 90 / 85 --> 110 / 60 / 75 / 80 / 90 / 85

Deserved. This mon outclasses every other defensive Water and invalidates half the offensive mons in the tier, while also having more raw utility than any other mon in the tier. Its movepool can be revisited later, but for now this bulk nerf allows for super-effective coverage to actually, you know, damage it.

Minun-Primal
Photon Ball now 90 BP, and has a 30% chance to raise Speed.

Aura Wheel on a real mon is stupid. Minun itself is alright when it can’t auto-win the moment the opponent doesn’t hard switch into their Ground, so hopefully nerfing Photon Ball will keep it viable without being overwhelming.

Swalot-Primal
-Giga Drain

This was mentioned a while back, but this mon having a way to reliably hit Waters super-effectively is somewhat silly, though it rarely came into practice. Removing Giga Drain stops any potential problems before they can occur, though we will keep this mon on our radar.

Tyranitar-Nature
-Dragon Dance

This mon has far too much versatility to also be 18 flavors of sweeper. This will certainly make it a lot worse, but other sets have shown that they can carry their weight, and maybe now defensive variants can also see the light of day.

Name: Starmie-Astral
Disaster Concept: Meteor
Typing: Psychic/Ghost
Abilities: Meteor Aura
This Pokemon's offensive stat is multiplied by 1.5 while using a Rock-type attack.
Stats: 60/75/85/100/85/115 [520]
New Moves: Flamethrower, Hex, Shadow Ball
Removed Moves: Brine, Bubble Beam, Dive, Flip Turn, Scald, Surf, Waterfall, Water Gun, Water Pulse
Role: Meteor Beamer Real! Dark types completely destroy it but it should still be strong.
Flavour: As suspected, Starmie first came down to Earth from space. Being in contact with meteor Pokémon such as Lunatone, Solrock and Minior, Starmie can use their powers to boost its own.

Can't wait to see how dynamic all these changes will be. Surely, this will be the final balancing slate necessary.

:ss/Sirfetchd:
Name: Sirfetch'd-Ancient
Disaster Concept: Meteor
Typing:

Abilities: Pressure / Defiant | HA: Scrappy
Stats: 62 HP / 125 Atk / 110 Def / 48 SpA / 82 SpD / 80 Spe [507 BST]

New Moves: Roost, Defog, U-turn, Sky Uppercut, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Flint Spear, Meteor Beam, Drain Punch, Meteor Mash
Meteor Assault - 8 PP | Fighting | Physical | 105 BP | 100% Acc | Does 1.5 damage if the opposing Pokémon's stats are altered. (raised or lowered)

Ancient Sirfetch'd do not wield leeks to wage war, these Pokémon wielded large chunks of crashed meteors in their battles. These Pokémon were not as powerful as their descendants, so they were easy prey to most dinosaur Pokémon, but then the meteors came, and the heavenly rocks helped shore up their offensive and defensive capacity against their foes. They often caught the meteorites from mid air, since being a grounded bird was too dangerous in the ancient past.

Comp: It's a cool Fighting type Scarf user that gives you an alternative option over Ancient Bug Fighter, while also simply diversifying our Fighting type pool.

:ss/Typhlosion:
Name: Typhlosion-Vulcan
Disaster Concept: Volcano
Typing:

Abilities: Blaze | HA: Magma Armor*
Magma Armor - ×2 the power of Fire types moves. Immune to Freezing. Takes half damage from Ice type moves.
Stats: 78 HP / 73 Atk / 113 Def / 60 SpA / 115 SpD / 95 Spe [534 BST]

New Moves: Earthquake, Scorched Pebbles, Meteor Beam, Hex, Shadow Ball, Poltergeist, Shadow Sneak, Shadow Claw, Dark Pulse, Leech Life, Giga Drain, Destiny Bond, Grudge, Spite, Hypnosis
Removed Moves: Focus Blast, Thunder Punch

Typhlosion of the past were much more intimate with Volcanoes of old, and could more easily channel it's power to destroy and level entire terrain. It often coated itself in magma that it kept red hot with it's own body temperature to serve as a means of defense if it strayed too far from its home. This Typhlosion was so overwhelmed with death and destruction, it began to harbor the spirits of those it claimed in it's wake.

Comp: Is it fast? Is it bulky? Is it a wallbreaker? Yes! Typhlosion-Vulcan takes a type with questionable defensive value and makes the most of it with a very solid defensive stat lineup. It's not passive either, since Magma Armor acts as it's own version of Water Bubble, making it tricky to switch into if you lack a Fire resist.

:Ss/Steelix:
Name: Steelix-Crystal
Disaster Concept: Ice Age
Typing:

Abilities: Water Absorb / Sheer Force | HA: Filter
Stats: 70 HP / 90 Atk / 190 Def / 50 SpA / 80 SpD / 30 Spe [510 BST]
New Moves: ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam, Diamond Storm, Haze, Draining Kiss, Waterfall, Surf, Hydro Pump, Life Dew, Refresh, Calm Mind, Moonblast, Flip Turn, Triple Axel, Misty Explosion, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Sweet Kiss, Fairy Wind, Charm, Lovely Kiss, Rapid Spin, Recrystallize*
Removed Moves: Fire Fang, Head Smash, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, All Ground type moves

Recrystallize - 10 PP | ice | Status | - BP | - Accuracy | Heals user for 50% of max HP. Heals 2/3 in hail.

Serves as a fun defensive wall or as a potential wallbreaker with Sheer Force.

:ss/Steelix-Mega:
Name: Steelix-Crystal-Mega
Disaster Concept: Ice Age
Typing:

Ability: Polar Ice*
*On switch in, summons Blistering Hail, which is up until the ability is no longer active. Under Blistering Hail, all non Ice type Pokémon lose 1/16th of their maximum health at the end of the turn. All Ice type moves have perfect accuracy and break protection. The weather summoned by this ability cannot be replaced by Sandstorm, Sun, Rain or Hail. Can only be replaced by Desolate Land, Primordial Sea or Delta Stream.
Stats: 70 HP / 135 Atk / 210 Def / 50 SpA / 95 SpD / 50 Spe [610 BST]

Mega Steelix-Crystal acts as a slow speed offensive tank, utilizing it's offensive typing to hit hard while having some difference in typing versus its base form, allowing for some variance in counterplay.

Type:

Category:

Base Power: 80
Accuracy: 100
PP: 10 (Max 16)
Effect: If this move is successful and the target is non-Fire-type, for 4 turns the target takes damage equal to 1/16 of its maximum HP, rounded down, at the end of each turn during effect, including the last turn. This effect ends if the target switches.
Priority: 0
Flags: Protect, Mirror
Removed Moves: Ally Switch, Amnesia, Calm Mind, Confusion, Dream Eater, Expanding Force, Imprison, Light Screen, Magic Coat, Magic Room, Play Rough, Psychic, Psyshock, Reflect, Skill Swap, Steel Beam, Stored Power
Role: We need more fat stuff. We need more Armaldo checks. This mon is both. Solid stats across the board and a wide movepool grant it a ton of versatility. Jirachi can pull off Defog, Rocks/Pebbles, Wishtect with U-Turn, Specs breaker, Scarfer with HWish and Trick or even MBeam. It is however hampered by its middling Speed (which leaves it outpaced by every Ice) and is reliant on Wish for recovery.
Flavor: Crashed down via comet. It’s a Dragon cause Draco. It’s Flying cause meteors fly. Shattered Skies is it turning the planet into a burning hellscape or smth.

Removed Moves: Ally Switch, Amnesia, Body Press, Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Earth Power, Gravity, Guard Split, Guard Swap, Hail, Moonblast, Play Rough, Psychic, Psyshock, Skill Swap, Stored Power, Trick Room, Wonder Room
Role: Beefy tank. Hits hard and can roast Steels thanks to Fire coverage. Blanks Swalot by not caring about FBlast or Sludge Bomb and threatens back with DStorm. Has a rough MU against the numerous Grounds.
Mega Role: Both of our Megas are crazy breakers, so here's a fat Mega. This offers another Armaldo answer, being immune to CC and EQ while taking little from U-Turn. It can also answer Flygon albeit a bit more shakily, it's immune to Flygon's STAB combo but is only neutral to Vibrato BB. Still handily beats Swalot ofc. Aside from that, this is a fast wall that can utilize its Speed and bulk in several ways. Rocking, Hazing, Encoring, DBonding, Heal Belling and spreading burns with Plume or Wisp. Main issue is lack of Ghost STAB outside of Sneak and having zero recovery.
Flavor: The destructive princess of volcanos. Base form spews toxic gas and ash. Mega is decked out in obsidian armor and purple diamonds but is now possessed by all the dinosaurs it killed.

Removed Moves: Fire Blast, Fire Spin, Flame Charge, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Heat Crash, Heat Wave, Incinerate, Overheat, Scald, Scorching Sands, Steam Eruption, Sunny Day, Will-O-Wisp
Role: Mega Abomasnow but without the Mega Stone. Excellent coverage between its dual STABs, EP and Hydro. Decent Chomp check; can eat an EQ, outspeed and kill with Embittering End. Adds another Defogger to the tier if you want. Suffers from vulnerability to hazards and its numerous weaknesses.
Flavor: The classic element switcheroo. It’s Grass cause it ate all the grass and that’s why there’s no grass in the ice age.

Fire/Dragon provides a mon that can cover easily most Fire types on the meta, this is supported by Sticky Hold allowing it to be a consistent pivot and hazardcontrol option out of preserving its boots, all while also spreading burns with Lava Plume.

A solid typing leaves it with quite few weaknesses, this is further complemented by Body Press avoiding passivity and further encouraging to run a physically defensive spread, especially as thanks to Scrappy this move is a consistent option to wear down opponents.

Sheer Force sets on this are extremely strong and seem to not be your intended role for the mon, so council recommends replacing Sheer Force entirely.

This is what happens when everyone subs legendaries lol. 24 hours to fix subs and then voting begins (or sooner if people fix them quickly).

Alright, time’s up. Deoxys and Tornadus remain vetoed, as they weren’t changed within the time limit. All other subs may be voted for.
  • Each prompt will be voted for separately.
  • There is no limit on the amount of submissions you can vote for.
  • First Place will count for 3 points, Second Place for 2, and all others will count for 1 point.
  • Self Votes may not be First Place, and have a limit of 6 points total.
Voting will last for 48 hours. Let’s finish off strong!

double posting to influence the rest of the voters early :ghorse:
