Welcome to the second edition of ORAS Premier League. How this works: There are 6 or 8 teams this year. Each team will have 10 players, and at least 2 subs. The players are bought using 120k credits the managers receive for the auction. Managers and co-managers will be allowed to purchase themselves as players for their team at a fixed price of 15k. Teams can win their matchup every week by winning 5 of the 8 matches that their players have to play.
Games: All games will be played on the Pokemon Showdown main server or SmogTours in the most current version of the format corresponding to those listed above. All tiers are Bo1.
Scoring: Winning a round rewards a team with 2 points, drawing 1 point, and losing zero points. In addition, the manner in which the round has been won will also be recorded i.e. the difference between a team's wins and losses in a specific week's round (referred to as "Win Differential").
Tiebreaker: Tiebreakers will take the form of a Bo3 between the teams in question, assuming equivalent points and differential. One unique metagame will be picked by each manager with the higher seed picking second; the third game will be played in ORAS OU.
Substitutes: A substitution may be made during the week for inactive players. In order to do this a manager must post in the thread, tagging the hosts, the opposing managers and the opposing player stating which player is substituting out, and which player is substituting in. A player that has substituted out for a week cannot be substituted back in. If substitutes are being abused, such as via frequent last minute shifts or to fish for matchups - particularly in ORAS OU - the hosts reserve the right to veto substitutions.
Trades: Trades will not be permitted in this tournament.
RE: Retains Catgirl City Clefables --> Lightning Field Latis (randomized see below) The Strapinches --> Hate Crime Hatterenes (tdk managed The Strapinches last year)
Waifu Washers (returning manager) Neo Siphylis Sigilyphs --> Lansa a braba (randomized see below)
Wyvern Weavile (no retains)
Ruin Valley Rhyperiors (returning managers)
Justified Keldeos (no retains) Nakano Quintuplets --> Nakiri Sylveons (returning manager)
You can dm TGA#2199 or Arai#0001 on discord to send retains. The retain deadline is 24 hours before the auction.
You are allowed up to 2 Retains.
Since none of the managers are extremely involved with the ORAS Ubers community, I figured it would be beneficial to shed some light on the Ubers signups for this tournament and give my thoughts on some of the names that have signed up (this list will be hopefully updated in the coming days with any new signups unless I forget/get lazy). Here are my personal rankings for the ORAS Ubers signups in ORASPL II:
Tier 1 (Best in the Pool)
Soulwind - Top player overall + has a decent amount of experience with ORAS Ubers having won the latest invitational earlier this year. Might need someone to pass teams/be better off in UU though. The expectation would be a top end record conducive to the price tag.
Tier 2 (Top End Starter)
fourmi - Very experienced and consistent ORAS Ubers player, has been one of the best for a couple of years and always pulls out very solid and fun teams. A top end record should always be expected from him.
FatFighter2 - Extremely new to the ORAS Ubers scene, but has thoroughly impressed me during UPL not only in his actual tournament games but also in the multiple test games we played against each other. Very sound gameplay coupled with a knack for building really interesting and off the wall teams should land him towards the top of this tour in terms of record.
Tier 3 (Average Starter)
Skooma - Very boom or bust. Good player overall, decent at ORAS Ubers, don't love their teams though. Record would probably depend on if they decide to use good stuff. Can be a bit troublesome/problematic to have on your team though and carries boom/bust record outcomes.
Royal1604 - Newer player to ORAS that impressed me a lot during UPL when he was on my team, went 3-0 and clutched up by winning all the elimination weeks including the finals deciding game (vs FatFighter2). Needs to be given quality teams but past that he will finish with a positive record.
Tier 4 (Bottom End Starter)
Sparksblade - Has been playing ORAS in tournament for years. Solid, probably won't wow you or finish with the best record in the pool but is always steady, good and always a valuable piece for cheap on his teams. Expect a record that doesn't deviate much from the average.
Qwily - A bit of a newer player that has shown signs and flashes of being good at the tier. Still makes some silly mistakes sometimes but he can definitely play and should start for a team. Expect an average to below average record with a decent amount of upside.
Kate - My dark horse pick to have a great tournament, very sound and competent player overall that gets ranked a bit low because of their lack of experience in ORAS Ubers specifically. Plays a really clean game and gave me a decent amount of trouble in friendlies. Hard to predict in terms of record but carries a ton of upside. Tier 5 (On the Starter/Sub Bubble)
Holy Ghost
Lasen
Vileman - Should probably be in OU but he can still play Ubers at a decent level Sharow
Tier 6 (Sub/Support)
Thiago Nunes
Gareeb
Alkione
Inder
Aurora
AM
Jhonx
Hookah Doncic
Anyone not included in the list either did not sign up for Ubers or I just am not familiar with their ORAS play enough to give my own personal assessment on their abilities.

Leru encountered a bug during their game with GeeMick where he had clicked a move at around 5 seconds left and then proceeded to cancel the move to immediately select another but it instead timed him out instantly. Due to video evidence where this bug was recreated, I'm inclined to believe that it had occurred under the game as well, and as it could not be recreated and either player could replay with different teams at that point, it was requested that I grant an extension. Note that this is a very special case.
Result: Extension with a deadline of Monday, September 19th at 11:59 GMT-4.
RE: airfare vs jonfilch
The series was not played and no evidence to support an activity win was submitted.
Ditching and LNumbers had scheduled a time on Sunday and when said time arrived, Ditching went online to wait for his opponent and told him this. LNumbers then told Ditching that he was occupied with another series for another tournament, and then proceeded to say that he would not be playing anymore. Ditching's managers had then requested a sub which was not provided.
