How this works
There are 8 teams this year. Each team will have have 6 players and at least 2 subs. The players are bought using the 80k credits that managers receive during the auction. Teams can win their matchup every week by winning 4 of the 6 matches that their players have to play.
The tier lineup this year is as follows:
All games will be played on the Pokemon Showdown main server or SmogTours in the most current version of the format corresponding to those listed above. Apart from where it is explicitly mentioned (1 and 4 above), the result between players may be decided in a best-of-one or best-of-three at the discretion of both players involved. If there is no agreement, the result will decided in a Bo1 by default.

Winning a round rewards a team with 2 points, drawing 1 point, and losing zero points. In addition, the manner in whichthe round has been won will also be recorded i.e. the difference between a team's wins and losses in a specific week's round (referred to as "Win Differential").
Playoffs:
Each team will play one another for seven weeks. Based on the final standings, the top 4 teams will enter a Playoffs Round to determine the teams appearing in the finals.
Tiebreaker
In the event of two teams being tied for a spot in the finals based on points and win differential, or a tie in the final round itself, we will have a tiebreaker round(s).

Tiebreaker Rules: The most played meta from usage stats plus one metagame picked by each manager will give a best-of-three game between the tied teams, ultimately deciding who goes onto finals. The three games must be different formats, i.e. the remaining two games cannot be the same as the most played metagame, and must be from the list above. Since Anything Goes is likely to be chosen by usage, the decision to play Bo3 or Bo1 is left upto the players' discretion (here, bo3 is by default)

Substitutes
Substitutes are to be used in the case of "extenuating circumstances" which are unavoidable, whether on the first day of the week, or the last. Moreover, they should generally not be used with a tactical purpose of creating confusion in an opponent's team. At the same time, players should be relatively well-aware of who all are available to play in the opponent's camp. If last minute substitutes are being frequently used or abused and I find explanations unsatisfactory, I still reserve the right to veto them.

Trades
If teams wish to conduct a trade, both managers (or assistant managers if the manager is not present) MUST PM E4 Flint on the FORUMS to have the trade be official. No trades may occur after the conclusion of week 2. A traded player may only feature in the round after they have been traded.

Scheduling
Scheduling should be done on VM walls, plain and simple:
  • If there is no communication on VM walls and a game goes undone, it will be left to the RNG to decide the winner
  • If there is communication on only one user's behalf, the win will go to them. Feel free to call activity in this thread beforehand
  • If there is a very healthy back and forth regarding potential times and one user is a no-show, a manager may take the opportunity to sub out the no-show competitor; if this is not done, the user that showed up responsibly will be awarded the win.
TL;DR: VM your opponents, schedule your matches, and be reliable. If you're not reliable, let your manager know so they can sub you out ASAP.
Use these VM's to initiate discussion about bo1 or bo3 as well!
Sportsmanship
Exhibitions of unsportsmanlike conduct with regards to Other Metagame Premier League will be met with an infraction at the discretion of the OMPL host/OM mods. This is unlikely to include interactions within a team's private chat unless there is reason found to make an exception. This rule is meant to protect other users from being publicly flamed/bashed/provoked by another competitor for the duration of and following the tournament.
All players must complete their matches by the given deadline. Any incomplete matches by that time will be subject to activity decision (MAKE SURE YOU POST ON YOUR OPPONENT'S VM WALL); otherwise, they will be decided via !pick publicly in the OM Room. All matches should ideally be done on your most notable alt (the one you registered for OMPL with) to avoid confusion and the replay must be saved and posted in this thread. The replays will be archived in a separate thread, and will be used to calculate usage stats.

Substitutions & Lineups
Managers, if you wish to make any substitutions, you must post here tagging both the player you're subbing out, the player you're subbing in, the manager and assistant manager of the opposing team, the substitute's opponent, and myself. This is to assure that everyone is in-the-loop and that the OP is updated accordingly to reflect the new match-up.
Managers, when you send in lineups, please send it in with the tier and Smogon username of each player fully written out for ease of transcription, in exactly the same order as laid out above. I will post instructions about sending the lineup for next week later this week.

OMPL VII Playoff Conditions
With the last week upon us, I figure that I'd write a post for the conditions for each team to make playoffs. Probabilities are also calculated, but with the poor assumption that each match can be assumed to be a fair coin flip.

Here are the current standings:
RankTeamRecord (Points):
1stThe Head Honchkrows4 - 1 - 1 (9) | 4
2ndThe Five-Star Jolteons2 - 2 - 2 (6) | 4
3rdThe Money Magearnas2 - 2 - 2 (6) | 2
4thThe Metro Boomin Mega Rays2 - 2 - 2 (6) | 0
5thThe Temper Tyrantrums1 - 1 - 4 (6) | 0
6thThe Klink Shamers2 - 3 - 1 (5) | 2
7thThe Bedroom Blisseys2 - 3 - 1 (5) | -2
8thThe Socialist Sobbles2 - 3 - 1 (5) | -10

Analysis for individual teams:
Points: 9 | Differential: +4

The Krows bounced back from a dismal Week 1 loss to win 3 straight weeks before tying one and winning another, putting them in a position where they are secured the top seed for playoffs.

However, the other teams are much more complicated, and aren't this simple.

Chances: 100%
Points: 6 | Differential: +4

With a fantastic mid season, The Five-Star Jolteons have been able to secure second place with a string of 4 good results from weeks 2-5. The Jolteons have the same differential as the Krows, but with much less points. As they are playing the Magearnas, this match will be critical for their playoff chances.

Jolteons victory conditions:
  • (11/32) Winning: Winning secures playoffs with 8 points
  • (5/16) Tie: A tie secures playoffs, as they rank above the Magearnas in differential, they are guaranteed. Only one of Rays/Tyrantrums along with Klinks/Blisseys can overtake them, thus putting them in the playoffs.
  • (11/32) Loss: Even with a loss, the Jolteons can make playoffs, but with some special conditions, since the Magearnas would be qualified:
    • (5/16) If the Rays and Tyrantrums tie, the Jolteons will not qualify
    • (11/16) If the Rays OR the Tyrantrums win, then the winner will be qualified, with the Jolteons fighting for the last spot with the Blisseys/Klinks/Sobbles:
      • (11/16) If the either the Klinks or Blisseys win, Jolteons cannot make playoffs
      • (5/16) If the Klinks and Blisseys tie:
        • (11/32) If the Sobbles win, they're in by some miracle
        • (21/32) If the sobbles don't win, the Klinks and the Jolteons now have to fight for differential:
          • (15/22) If the Jolteons lose exactly 2-4, then they have a chance for tiebreak:
            • (1/2) They win tiebreak
Chances: (705453/1048576) = 67.278%
Points: 6 | Differential: +2

The Magearnas started off immensely strong but have fallen off a bit, with no points gained since week 4. However, they still have good chances to make playoffs due to their strong start.

Magearnas victory conditions:
  • (11/32) Winning: Winning secures playoffs with 8 points
  • (5/16) Tie: Tying is not necessarily in for the Magearnas, since Krows + Jolteons are in
    • (5/16) If the Rays and Tyrantrums tie, the Magearnas will qualify
    • (11/16) If the Rays and the Tyrantrums do not tie, one of them will be in, leaving only one spot:
      • (11/32) If the Klinks win, then the Magearnas are out since the Klinks have a better differential
      • (5/16) If the Klinks and the Blisseys tie, the Magearnas are in since the Sobbles cannot catch up to their differential
      • (11/32) If the Blisseys win, the Magearnas have a chance here:
        • (15/22) The Blisseys win 4-2, keeping them at only a +0 differential, letting the Magearnas qualify
        • (6/22) The Blisseys win 5-1, leading to a tiebreak:
          • (1/2) The Magearnas win the tiebreak
        • (1/22) The Blisseys win 6-0, hence putting them at a +4 differential, hence the Magearnas lose
  • (11/32) Loss: If the Magearnas lose, there is no way for them to make playoffs
Chances: (4661/8192) = 56.897%
Points: 6 | Differential: +0

The Rays have had a bit of a weird swing, with a strong start, a weak middle, but are looking to come back for a strong finish. As their points and differentials are identical to the Tyrantrums, their chances are the same as well.

Rays victory conditions:
  • (11/32) Winning: Winning secures playoffs with 8 points
  • (5/16) Tie: Tying is extremely complicated for the Rays:
    • (11/16) If the Jolteons or Magearnas win, then one of them is in and one of them is doomed:
      • (5/16) If the Klinks and Blisseys tie, then both Rays and Tyrantrums make it
      • (11/32) If the Klinks win, they're in, and we have a tiebreak between the Rays and Tyrantrums:
        • (1/2) Rays win the tiebreak
      • (15/64) Blisseys win by exactly 4-2, in which case there is a 3 way tiebreak for 3rd and 4th:
        • (2/3) Rays pull through the tiebreak
      • (7/64) Blisseys win by a bigger margin than 4-2 in which case the Rays have a tiebreak with the Tyrantrums for 4th:
        • (1/2) Rays win the tiebreak
    • (5/16) If Jolteons and Magearnas tie, both teams are ahead of the Rays and Tyrantrums, putting it up to the Klinks + Magearnas again:
      • (5/16) If the Klinks and Blisseys tie, then we have a tiebreak between the Rays and Tyrantrums:
        • (1/2) Rays win the tiebreak
      • (11/32) If the Klinks win, they're in, and the Rays are done for
      • (15/64) Blisseys win by exactly 4-2, which case there is a 3 way tiebreak for 4th:
        • (1/3) Rays pull through the tiebreak
      • (7/64) Blisseys win by a bigger margin than 4-2 in which case the Rays are out
  • (11/32) Loss: If the Rays lose, there is no way for them to make playoffs
Chances: (16909/32768) = 51.602%
Points: 6 | Differential: +0

While the Tyrantrums had dominating week 1 victory, they haven't been able to replicate that success much, with a string of 4 ties between week 2 and week 6 and then a 1-5 loss to the Sobbles. However, they still have a good chance to make playoffs, given things go right.

Tyrantrums victory conditions:
  • (11/32) Winning: Winning secures playoffs with 8 points
  • (5/16) Tie: Tying is extremely complicated for the Tyrantrums:
    • (11/16) If the Jolteons or Magearnas win, then one of them is in and one of them is doomed:
      • (5/16) If the Klinks and Blisseys tie, then both Rays and Tyrantrums make it
      • (11/32) If the Klinks win, they're in, and we have a tiebreak between the Rays and Tyrantrums:
        • (1/2) Tyrantrums win the tiebreak
      • (15/64) Blisseys win by exactly 4-2, in which case there is a 3 way tiebreak for 3rd and 4th:
        • (2/3) Tyrantrums pull through the tiebreak
      • (7/64) Blisseys win by a bigger margin than 4-2 in which case the Rays have a tiebreak with the Tyrantrums for 4th:
        • (1/2) Tyrantrums win the tiebreak
    • (5/16) If Jolteons and Magearnas tie, both teams are ahead of the Rays and Tyrantrums, putting it up to the Klinks + Blisseys again:
      • (5/16) If the Klinks and Blisseys tie, then we have a tiebreak between the Rays and Tyrantrums:
        • (1/2) Tyrantrums win the tiebreak
      • (11/32) If the Klinks win, they're in, and the Tyrantrums are out
      • (15/64) Blisseys win by exactly 4-2, which case there is a 3 way tiebreak for 4th:
        • (1/3) Tyrantrums pull through the tiebreak
      • (7/64) Blisseys win by a bigger margin than 4-2 in which case the Rays are out
  • (11/32) Loss: If the Tyrantrums lose, there is no way for them to make playoffs
Chances: (16909/32768) = 51.602%
Points: 5 | Differential: +2

While the Klinks had a rough 0-3 start, they've brought it back to the point where they have a +2 win differential even with three losses. Coming off the back of a 6-0 over the Sobbles, the Klinks have secured a surprisingly possible position for them to make the playoffs.

Klinks victory conditions:
  • (11/32) Winning: Winning actually secures the playoffs due to the Klinks +2 win differential.
  • (5/16) Tie: Tying is extremely difficult for the Klinks to make playoffs, but it is still possible:
    • (5/16) If the Rays and the Tyrantrums tie, the Klinks cannot make playoffs since Rays, Tyrantrums, and one of Jolts/Mages will be above them
    • (11/16) If the Rays and the Tyrantrums do not tie, the Klinks will have more points than the loser, giving us the Sobbles match up to worry about:
      • (11/32) The Sobbles win, in which case the Klinks are out
      • (21/32) The Sobbles don't win, leaving the Magearnas/Jolteons:
        • (5/16) If the Magearnas and Jolteons tie, then the Klinks will be overshadowed by both of them as well as the winner of Rays/Tyrantrums, putting them out of the playoffs
        • (11/32) If the Magearnas Lose, then the Klinks are in due to having a better differential than the Magearnas
        • (15/64) If the Jolteons lose exactly 2-4, then the Klinks and the Jolteons tiebreak:
          • (1/2) Klinks win the tiebreak
        • (7/64) The jolteons lose by more than 2-4 means the Klinks have a better differential and hence qualify
  • (11/32) Loss: If the Klinks lose, there is no way for them to make playoffs
Chances: (444763/1048576) = 42.416%
Points: 5 | Differential: -2

The Blissey's record is hampered by the 3 consecutive losses back to back from week 2 through week 4. As their wins were not as decisive as the Klink Shamers, they will have a much more difficult time pulling through to the playoffs.

Blisseys victory conditions:
  • (11/32) Winning: Winning requires a lot of things to go right for the Blisseys to make playoffs:
    • (11/16) Jolteons and Magearnas is not a tie, leaving two slots open:
      • (5/16) The Tyrantrums and the Rays tie, making it come down to how much the Blisseys won by:
        • (15/22) The Blisseys win by 4-2, meaning they have a 3 way tiebreak for 2 spot:
          • (2/3) Blisseys come through in tiebreak
        • (7/22) The Blisseys win by more than 4-2, putting them through
      • (11/16) The Tyrantrums and the Rays do not tie, which means the Blisseys are through
    • (5/16) Jolteons and Magearnas is a tie, leaving the Jolteons in a solid spot but the Magearnas in a risky one:
      • (5/16) The Tyrantrums and the Rays tie, making it come down to how much the Blisseys won by:
        • (15/22) The Blisseys win by 4-2, meaning they have a 3 way tiebreak for 1 spot:
          • (1/3) Blisseys come through in tiebreak
        • (7/22) The Blisseys win by more than 4-2, putting them through
      • (11/16) The Tyrantrums and the Rays do not tie, leaving the only way for the Blisseys to go through is to beat the Magearnas:
        • (6/22) Blisseys win 5-1, making them tiebreak the Magearnas
          • (1/2) Blisseys win tiebreak
        • (1/22) Blisseys win 6-0, putting them through to the playoffs
  • (5/16) Tie: The Blisseys cannot make it with a tie due to their differential
  • (11/32) Loss: If the Blisseys lose, there is no way for them to make playoffs
Chances: (4117/16384) = 25.128%
Points: 5 | Differential: -10

A team who has almost seen every possible record from 0-6 to 5-1, the Sobbles are unfortunately in a tough spot. However, even after two 0-6 rounds, the Sobbles are actually able to qualify if the stars align for them.

Sobbles victory conditions:
  • (11/32) Winning: Winning is only the start, as the Sobbles need a lot more things to go right:
    • (11/16) The Jolteons/Magearnas cannot tie
      • (11/16) The Rays/Tyrantrums cannot tie
        • (5/16) The Klinks and Blisseys MUST tie, and with all 3 of these conditions, the Sobbles make it
  • (5/16) Tie: The Sobbles cannot make it with a tie due to their differential
  • (11/32) Loss: If the Sobbles lose, there is no way for them to make playoffs
Chances: (6655/131072) = 5.077%

In conclusion, here are the chances for each team to qualify:
RankTeamRecord (Points):Chances:
1stThe Head Honchkrows4 - 1 - 1 (9) | 4100%
2ndThe Five-Star Jolteons2 - 2 - 2 (6) | 467.278%
3rdThe Money Magearnas2 - 2 - 2 (6) | 256.897%
4thThe Metro Boomin Mega Rays2 - 2 - 2 (6) | 051.602%
5thThe Temper Tyrantrums1 - 1 - 4 (6) | 051.602%
6thThe Klink Shamers2 - 3 - 1 (5) | 242.416%
7thThe Bedroom Blisseys2 - 3 - 1 (5) | -225.128%
8thThe Socialist Sobbles2 - 3 - 1 (5) | -105.077%

On another interesting note, there is approximately a 7.324% chance of a 3 way tiebreak!

Thanks to xavgb for checking my work.

Hopefully the formatting isn't too bad, I apologize if it is, but I needed to get these predictions up for the fans <3

The Money Magearnas
(Funbot28 & regirock) - [2][4] - The Five-Star Jolteons (Ransei & snow)

Bo3 USUM Anything Goes - cromagnet42 vs Skarph -- Skarph has been better, but I see cro in idm so it could go either way
USUM Almost Any Ability - Megazard vs Racool -- This one is really interesting bc mz is playing this week, but I expect racool to keep up her impressive run and win while mz blames mu (understandably of course)
USUM Balanced Hackmons - PinkDragonTamer vs HeadsILoseTailsYouWin -- Idt either player has actually lost a game up to this point, but I think pdt > anna
USUM Mix and Mega - xavgb vs maroon -- Every time I pick against maroon they get first blood, but I can't predict stresh losing 4 in a row can I?
USUM STABmons - Cam vs w0rd -- I expect w0rd to bring out his best with a playoff spot not yet guaranteed, and Cam has been inconsistent so far
USUM ZeroUsed - LPY vs EviGaro -- LPY been ice cold since not going for that 3rd spike

The Klink Shamers
(Chloe & Pigeons) - [2][4] - The Bedroom Blisseys (The Immortal & Willdbeast)

Bo3 USUM Anything Goes - GRNBLN vs BaconEatinAssassin -- I still don't fw cappers, and bacon has been winning games
USUM Almost Any Ability - motherlove vs Hamhamhamham -- I actually liked ml's team selections last week, and I think ml > ham here
USUM Balanced Hackmons - Hassin627 vs MAMP -- Idk anything about Hassin, but Mamp is one of, if not, the most solid player in bh rn
USUM Mix and Mega - Chazm vs Andyboy -- One of the better matches this week, but I'm higher on andy than chazm despite the past couple weeks
USUM STABmons - Plas vs In The Hills -- Plas had a good run at snake in sketch, but I believe ith with an extra week to potentially prep takes it here
USUM ZeroUsed - a fruitshop owner vs Dj Breloominati♬ -- afo had a slow start, but has won 3 straight and I see that continuing

The Socialist Sobbles
(Mark_K & Anaconja) - [2][4] - The Head Honchkrows (Jrdn & TheCoastsOfToast)

Bo3 USUM Anything Goes - Quantum Tesseract vs PurpleGatorade -- PG is on a nice win streak themselves, and I haven't seen qt in ag yet
USUM Almost Any Ability - Sabella vs rozes -- rozes with the best support after a week off sounds great right?
USUM Balanced Hackmons - tzop vs sugarhigh -- One of the more underrated bh players, I think tzop can steal this game off sugarhigh
USUM Mix and Mega - Eien vs Catalystic -- Both players haven't had great runs, but I still think Cata has the edge over Eien
USUM STABmons - Terracotta vs aesf -- aesf has won 5 in a row, including ending geerat's aaa win streak in a dominating bo3. I expect more of the same from aesf
USUM ZeroUsed - DurzaOffTopic vs TJ -- Durza used a bj team in snake finals and got the win #respect

Go team let's get this bread

the format sucks Dr. Phd. BJ >:O

The Metro Boomin Mega Rays (power & DEG) - [][] - The Temper Tyrantrums (drampa's grandpa & OM room)

Bo3 USUM Anything Goes - HunterStorm vs Zenithial - I did a coinflip and it picked zenithial but im picking hunterstorm anyways
USUM Almost Any Ability - lax vs Dr. Phd. BJ - lax only loses when he feels like it and he prolly wont feel like it this week
USUM Balanced Hackmons - Finchinator vs jasprose - finch's superior meta knowledge and building prowess will take the cake over jasp here w/o a doubt
USUM Mix and Mega - Akashi vs TectonicDestroyer - tect keeps winning ig i'll keep predicting for him O_o
USUM STABmons - Betathunder vs Official Fissure - betathunder is soooo good wowowowowowow
USUM ZeroUsed - TonyFlygon vs 5gen - weird how they take the best bh player in the tour out of bh this week and instead put him in zu, because of tony being out of his main meta (BH), 5gen will probably win

The Money Magearnas (Funbot28 & regirock) - [][] - The Five-Star Jolteons (Ransei & snow)

Bo3 USUM Anything Goes - cromagnet42 vs Skarph - I've used cromagnet's taste in music as my reasoning or predicting for him every time now but I don't care I'm doing it again, I like him more than skarph anyways so he's winning for sure
USUM Almost Any Ability - Megazard vs Racool - I don't think I'd ever predict against racool at this point unless she was facing geerat but she's not facing geerat so like
USUM Balanced Hackmons - PinkDragonTamer vs HeadsILoseTailsYouWin - Word on the street is that pdt has never used the letter L in any sentence, word, or phrase in his entire life, EVER.
USUM Mix and Mega - xavgb vs maroon - maroon keeps winning but stresh is still stresh, I think if stresh remains calm and does his best he's next to unbeatable. If I see a maroon winpost by the time I post this I'll shit a brick tho
USUM STABmons - Cam vs w0rd - betathunder is soooo good wowowowowowow
USUM ZeroUsed - LPY vs EviGaro - Evi is a beast that cannot be tamed in any setting, and LPY is still the worst 3 letter combo ever. However being in the 3 letter name club in general does give you a boost in power so it could go either way, go evi tho.

The Klink Shamers (Chloe & Pigeons) - [][] - The Bedroom Blisseys (The Immortal & Willdbeast)

Bo3 USUM Anything Goes - GRNBLN vs BaconEatinAssassin - I love bacon but after seeing his name change on PS I've gotta root against him here, who tf would namechange from BACONEATINASSASSIN, at least namechange to BEA or some shit wtf. "What does your name stand for?" "Bacon Eatin Assassin". You could be so cool but instead you're not >:(
USUM Almost Any Ability - motherlove vs Hamhamhamham - motherlove beat me and im the best aaa player of all time, even if he thinks he's washed he's def not and him thinking he's washed is prolly half the reason for his mediocre performance throughout this tour. I don't think he'll lose rn tho imo tbh ngl atm.
USUM Balanced Hackmons - Hassin627 vs MAMP - Idk who hassin is, mampion is a champion from what I've heard tho
USUM Mix and Mega - Chazm vs Andyboy - OKAYYYYYYY, you dumb fuckin idiot Andyboy you're gonna get your shit kicked in by Chazm. Andy probably regained his confidence after completing all 3 quests for the medieval party on club penguin last night, but it won't be enough for the raw talent advantage that Chazm has over him.
USUM STABmons - Plas vs In The Hills - go luxrays on jah
USUM ZeroUsed - a fruitshop owner vs Dj Breloominati♬ - if i predict against fruitman the chances of him not drafting me for zupl rises, obligatory free chess room even tho it's prolly getting annoying to most by now, reminder that Clefable is like 92-0 in pspl history.

on a sidenote thank you to the few people who helped me build/test last week you know who you are

If we lose this week s/o my team for not being shit. I was robbed 2 games but robbed 1 myself. this week especially stupid though. Just rmr i should have a 2 wins more than I do and should have lost 1 game i won. toxic is a bad move.

USUM Balanced Hackmons - Finchinator vs jasprose - finch's superior meta knowledge and building prowess will take the cake over jasp here w/o a doubt
idk what metagame knowledge and building prowess i'm supposed to have in a tier i've never played before, but lost gg

don't ask me to sign up for tournaments when formats in it are clearly uncompetitive and largely guess work pls
