Tournament OM Snake Draft II - Information & Discussion

Welcome everyone to the second annual OM Snake Draft! Following on from last year, this is the tournament that features some of the biggest non-permanent OMs. The metagames selected for this year's Snake Draft are: Camomons / Inheritance / Partners in Crime / Sketchmons / Tier Shift!

There are 6 teams. Each team will draft 8 players, enough for 5 starters and 3 substitutes. Managers are not allowed to play. The draft order will be determined prior to the start of the draft and teams will pick in this order. Each team will pick one player, until the final team is reached, after which the draft order reverses and the final team will now get the first pick for the next round, making this a Snake Draft. This process will repeat until every team has a total of 8 players. For the following 5 weeks teams will face off against each other, where winning a round earns 2 points. After the 5th week, the two teams with the most points will advance to the finals where a champion will be crowned.

So real quick before the draft I'm gonna rank the teams in the only metric that really matters: names.

1- The Crabominable Snowmen

Returning for their second season, the Crabominable Snowmen top this list. This is a 10/10 name. Pun names always top the charts in my books.

2- The Danger Digletts

This name places second for the irony inherent in the name; when you think Diglett, you don't usually think Danger. The name also has a pleasing symmetry with both words having two syllables, making the simple "Danger" very effective compared to more complicated words and phrases that are common.

3- Partying Poliwags

Another returning team (I think?) this name carries with it some sense of fun. While it's not quite as dynamic as the Danger Diglett it's still got a sense of liveliness that's hard to deny.

4 and 5- Supreme Serperiors / Lavish Luxray

Both of these names are forgettable to be frank. Last OMPL someone said of my team, the Hellborne Heliolisks, that it sounded like two words just slapped together. That's what I feel with these. I suppose if I had to pick one to go first, it would be the Serperiors, as the name is more obviously actually related to the mon.

6- The Devastating Dragceus

This is the same thing as above, but with the issue that the mons name is a twisted colloquialism of a forme. While the previous two were forgettable, this one is memorable for being bad.

EDIT: After further consideration I have hit upon a new and more objective metric by which to measure team names. Here are the results.

1- Danger Digletts
Not 1- Everyone else
