Spectrier hates having to deal with Regigigas, which is immune to its STABs, Eviolite Imposter (other Imposter variants too, but particularly this one), which can eat an Astral Barrage from full* and OHKO in return, and Spikes, which wear it down over the course of more drawn-out games. Spectrier loves having Spikes of its own, since they wear down the opposing team while they dance around Spectrier, and Nuzzle support, since it improves the odds against threats that equal or outmatch it in Speed, such as Imposter, Eternatus, and other Spectrier.

This Zamazenta-Crowned set can remedy these problems and provide this support fairly well. Magic Bounce Zamazenta-Crowned can eat Regigigas's Facades, bounce back its Spikes, and hit it hard with Thunderous Kick. It can also spread Paralysis, allowing Spectrier to deal with threats that would normally tie or outspeed it, including Imposter.

*252 SpA Choice Specs Adaptability Spectrier Astral Barrage vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 520-612 (73.8 - 86.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Week 51: Wandering Spirit Corviknight!
:ss/Corviknight:

Ability: Wandering Spirit
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
IVs: 0 Spe
Relaxed Nature

Wandering Spirit Corviknight is the defensive mon that plays like an offensive mon. I don’t need to tell you how powerful Regenerator is, and how difficult it can be to punish. Wandering Spirit + Rocky Helmet is one of the few direct ways to neuter Regenerator pivots, turning their 1/3rd recovery into 1/6th chip, a full 50% swing. A well-timed switch in can leave Jirachi, Genesect, and Mew too weak to check the breakers they need to break, opening the door for progress. It also serves as an emergency check to Triage, Unburden, and physical attackers that rely heavily on their ability like Magic Guard Talonflame and Pixilate Tapu Koko. However, it is much more easily overwhelmed than a normal Corviknight, since its ability does nothing to increase bulk or patch up a weakness. What partners can take advantage of the openings it creates, or back it up against other dangerous breakers?

Submissions will open until Monday, June 20th, 9:00 AM GMT-4. Remember reservations are only good for 24 hours, so post your sets and explanations quickly!

Lele is broken, everyone knows that. Sadly, people are using stuff like Jirachi to counter it and it's pretty unfair. That's where WS Corviknight is useful: you force Jirachi to come in on any move, then send Corviknight on the U-turn/Iron Head, and steal Regenerator. With hazards up and Rocky Helmet chip, Jirachi is quickly below 50% aka in range of two Focus Blast (or Thunderbolt if it's below 42%) and you win! Even if the opposite player is able to heal Jirachi later, they'll be afraid to click Iron Head/U-turn against Lele once they know the Corvi is Wandering Spirit, and you'll be able to either catch a double switch or spam Focus Blast once they are chipped while they are clicking Future Sight/Icy Wind. The pair is dumb but works well, and Corviknight also helps vs various things that can annoy Tapu Lele: Scarf Regenerator Genesect (that will be afraid of clicking Iron Head, so you can stay in on Flamethrower and KO it), Assault Vest Landorus-T, Ferrothorn (cannot click damaging move, be aware of Twave tho) and even AV Swampert (since this set doesn't run Energy Ball because hitting SpD Volcarona is more valuable) or Scarf Regen Mew w/o Volt Switch, Corviknight just completes perfectly Tapu Lele to make it even more broken and make your opponent cry. Have fun with it, and have a good day everyone :]

Solgaleo has an excellent defensive typing in Steel / Psychic that is further augmented by Thick Fat removing its Fire weakness. It also boasts impressive 137/147/109 once mega evolved, and a very respectable 135 SpA. With access to reliable recovery and Calm Mind, it makes a potent bulky wincon! I also assume it bluffs physical Solgaleo sets well, but I am bad at MnM so that's a guess. While it is very bulky, it does lack immediate power, so it needs teammates to help it get into position to win. How do you support Venusaurite Solgaleo?

Solgaleo struggles vs bulkier threats (like bulky waters like Milotic which can (p)haze off boosts, Slowbro, which can pivot into something that checks it and Blissey, which also does the same), Groudon and also lacks immediate power. This is where Buzzwole comes into action, and beats the crap out of these threats thanks its great attack stat and movepool. In return, Solgaleo helps Buzzwole by checking stuff like Magearna, Regieleki and Entei, which the latter struggles against.

Zeraora makes up for some of Solgaleo's lack of immediate power while also taking care of the bulky waters like Milotic that give it some trouble. Solgaleo checks Pokemon like Entei and Regieleki that take care of Zeraora handily. Both Pokemon can struggle with bulky Ground-types, so ground immunites are great, as well as Pokemon that can deal with these Ground-types offensively.

Jellicent has had a recent surge in usage as a partner for Mudsdale due to its ability to hard stop Final Gambit Pokemon, namely Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, and trap unsuspecting Pokemon. The Water immunity is great for dealing with Mudsdale's checks, and Taunt+its Ghost typing can help keep Mudsdale's hazards on the field. On the other hand, Mudsdale is a solid check to the physical attackers Jellicent struggles with like Zeraora and Aerodactyl. Strength Sap is the most consistent way at stopping No Retreat Pokemon, but can be inconsistent in other matchups (especially while trying to trap something) which is why I personally prefer Recover.

i think keldeo and mudsale complement each other well because he can go back and forth on keldeo checks in addition to being toxic against the seismitoad/gastrodon that bothers him. with the spikes / sr keldeo can make a huge hole with steam eruption / secret sword , it will allow him 2hk0 gastro and the same for seismitoad . thus, they will be too afraid to come back and the steam eruptions become free and strong! the problem is that sylveon wall quite well according to its spread this duo but I still think that well surrounded this mudsale and this keldeo can become a very good duo in the meta!

Mudsdale does a great job at spreading Toxic and getting up hazards while Heatran can keep Doom Desires coming in while covering Pokemon such as Clefable, Ferrothorn, and especially Corviknight that are a pain for Mudsdale. The dual trapping core makes the timed damage of Doom Desire and Toxic more effective, and just a pain to play around. All around a good core for a playstyle that isn't seen much.

Pivot ZygC has many issues - mainly, this is it's typing which means it's a special "wall" that can't check Xerneas or even Eternatus that well. So, this'd mainly be used as a fat slow pivot, which means this pairs quite welll with it:

:ss/eternatus:
THE DRAGON CANNON (Eternatus) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Dragon's Maw

- Clanging Scales
- Sludge Wave
- Blue Flare

Specs Eternatus provides unmatched immediate power, which can somewhat utilize Zygarde's passivity which encourages in mid-speed progress makers who are immune to / don't really care about Nuzzle like Regigigas, PH Xerneas, Groudon and Giratina, none of which tend to be able to do anything to Eternatus as they all die in 1 hit (some wierd Scales Groudon set w/ spikes might come in and live but it has to be out on Zyg's U-Turn or it isn't safe). Zygarde's speed control in Nuzzle also limits the number of threats, such as Zama-C or other Eternatus, that can reliably outspeed as this is about the only Eternatus that doesn't run +spe. In return, Eternatus can threaten or OHKO basically anything looking to snipe Zygarde with GLance or remove it's AV with Knock, though it does need to be careful around enemy RegenVesters carrying knock which it probably can't punch through in 1 hit.

Regenvest Zyg-C is able to blanket check a ton of pokemon. However, it is weak to Dragon & Fairy. Registeel is able to resist both types and provide set-up controll which Zyg-C isn't great at doing. It's in fact quite stellar how well these two are able to form such a solid defensive core with just two pokemon. Occa berry here is to not get owned by V-create Xern immedietly, or blue flare on Eternatus. Destiny Bond can deal with these if revealed. These two should be used on more offense oriented since they will be bested long term and can't make any progress themselves. Offense teams appreciate their ability to keep almost everything in the meta at bay if things get sketchy so that they can focus on doing their thing.

Tough Claws Zarude uses its good Speed tier and strong contact moves to muscle through opposing defensive cores. Trading away priority Grass Glide, Zarude packs much more power on Darkest Lariat, Close Combat, and U-turn, allowing it to better wear down foes. With precious few Dark resists in the tier (one less with Kommo yeeted), Darkest Lariat is extremely spammable. It also functions as a pivot, and can draw in its few checks like Intimidate Corv for a specially offensive teammate to take advantage of. However, Zarude has limited defensive utility outside of an immunity to Psychic, and is cripplingly weak to faster pivots thanks to its 4x weakness to U-turn. How will you support Zarude?

Stealth Rock aids Xerneas in sweeping by allowing it to reach certain benchmarks, including being able to OHKO Milotic with Thunder 62.5% of the time after a Geomancy boost, Earthquake deals big damage to various Xerneas answers, notably OHKOing Entei and Regieleki and 2HKOing Metagrossite Solgaleo (although not Venusaurite), and Explosion removes what Earthquake can't, such as Milotic, Ho-Oh, and Blissey (including Sablenite after Stealth Rock chip).

Blacephalom invites most of its shared checks with Xerneas like Blissey, Milotic and Ho-Oh in by tricking them into thinking it's a special set. It can then nuke them (and itself) with Explosion, or Rock Blast in the case of Ho-Oh and thus opens the path for Xern to sweep. Pain Split ensures Explosion can KO Blissey after. Fire Blast is mostly used to deceive. Since Blace is pretty slow though, 156 Def EVs can be used to always live 2 ESpeed from Altarianite Entei, allowing it to Pain Split and then KO it with Rock Blast.

Cameruptite Genesect and GeoXern make great partners on hyper offensive teams, capitalizing on each other weakening their shared checks, commonly Steel-types. Not all Genesects carry Flamethrower, so the opponent may switch a steel in expecting to easily take a hit from Genesect but actually take high damage, opening the way for Xerneas. Genesect is also not as easily revenge killed by pixispeeders like entei and regieleki, especially after a shift gear, due to its resistance to fairy.

Cameruptite Solgaleo is a great partner for Xerneas as both can wear down their shared checks effectively. Both are checked effectively by Ho-oh and Blissey, but after a few boosts, can wear down each with their STAB and coverage moves. Because Cameruptite is an uncommon stone, it also has a surprise factor that can lead to it nabbing surprise KOs on other Xerneas checks such as Magearna and Slowking-Galar. Solgaleo is also able to check Pokemon like Altarianite Regieleki that would otherwise try and revenge kill Xerneas.

Gengar is a powerful sweeper in its own right, and absolutely loves the support Clefable provides. It likes the Paralysis support, allowing it to reliably outspeed some threats that would otherwise be able to outpace or tie it such as Latios, Weavile, and Tornadus-Therian and Sub up on or simply attack them. Clefable is also able to switch in on most Knock Offs for Gengar, preventing it from losing the Black Sludge which is its only way of keeping Sub up or, you know, instantly dying to a super effective hit because of its paper-thin bulk. Any Tyranitar short of Band Head Smash can be crippled by Clefable, which is a huge boon for Gengar, although Clefable isn't a switchin and has to take a huge chunk of damage in return.
0- Atk Toxapex Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Gengar: 130-154 (49.8 - 59%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO :blobglare:

If Clefable carries Stealth Rock it gives +2 Gengar a chance to OHKO non-Black Sludge Toxapex after Rocks. Otherwise it can simply abuse the paralysis Clefable spreads. If Clefable is Rapid Spin Gengar appreciates that too because it generally can't afford much chip or Sub becomes useless.

Hex is an option over Moongeist Beam if you really want to get into the paralysis + Gengar combo, but can backfire if you fail to spread status far enough, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Bring a real Tyranitar switch-in and something to deal with blobs.

EDIT: Also run Milk Drink > Softboiled, it's cooler.

Specifically with Rapid Spin variants, Keldeo is one of the best breakers you can pair up alongside Clefable. The main things that hinder Keldeo in my opinion are Entry Hazards weakening its Water Spout, and its "not amazing" speed tier. Clefable might be the most consistent hazard control we've got in the tier, so pesky Spikes and Stealth Rocks wont be a worry for Keldeo upon switching. And it can Glare to slow-down potential revenge killers such as Tornadus-T and Aerodactyl. Furthermore, since Final Gambit got the boot Keldeo teams struggle immensely against Toxapex. Paralyzing Toxapex with Glare and being able to keep hazards up on the opponents side while removing theirs will immensely aid Keldeo in breaking through pex.
