[overview]
**Draft order**: Late round 3 onwards

**Price range**: 13-14 points

**Overview**: Ogerpon-C brings good offensive presence and utility to the table thanks to its Rock and Grass typing. This enables it to hit a generous portion of Pokemon well, also in part thanks to its decent Attack and Speed and its excellent signature move, Ivy Cudgel. With Swords Dance and Trailblaze to set up, as well as great coverage moves, Ogerpon-C can become a potent sweeper and wallbreaker. Access to utility moves also enables Ogerpon-C to contribute to the team even in its difficult matchups. However, it is locked to the Cornerstone Mask item and misses the ability to run items like Choice Scarf and Heavy-Duty Boots, so speed control and good entry hazard control from teammates are appreciated.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Wallbreaker**: With the use of Swords Dance, few Pokemon can stand up to Ogerpon-C's boosted Ivy Cudgel and Grass-type STAB moves. Pokemon that can stomach a hit from Ogerpon-C are potentially weak to its coverage, such as Superpower, Low Kick, and Stomping Tantrum to hit Steel-types and Play Rough to hit Fighting-types.

**Setup Sweeper**: With Trailblaze to boost its Speed, Ogerpon-C becomes a monstrous setup sweeper that is potentially very difficult to stop. However, this variant typically wants Swords Dance as well, and combined with the fact Trailblaze is quite weak, Ogerpon-C can sometimes struggle to fit all the moves it wants.

**Offensive Utility**: Ogerpon-C has a plethora of utility options that can support its teammates in a match, even when its wallbreaking capabilities are limited. These include Spikes, Knock Off, Taunt, Encore, and U-turn.

**Entry Hazard Lead**: Thanks to Sturdy, Ogerpon-C almost always gets to set at least one layer of Spikes, making it an ideal entry hazard lead.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Ivy Cudgel, Horn Leech, Power Whip, Wood Hammer

**Setup moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze

**Utility moves**: Encore, Leech Seed, Spikes, Substitute, Synthesis, Taunt, U-turn, Brick Break, Spiky Shield

**Coverage**: Stomping Tantrum, Knock Off, Low Kick, Play Rough, Superpower, Throat Chop, Zen Headbutt

Niche Moves
========
**Reversal / Counter**: Both of these moves have nice synergy with Sturdy, allowing Ogerpon-C to take one strong hit and deal big damage in return.

**Quick Attack**: This priority attack can be nice for Ogerpon-C to revenge kill faster weakened foes, letting it act as an emergency check to some setup or wallbreaking threats.

**Focus Energy**: Focus Energy allows Ogerpon-C's Ivy Cudgel to get a critical hit 100% of the time, amplifying its damage output and ignoring any opposing Pokemon trying to boost their Defense or lower Ogerpon-C's Attack via Intimidate.

Common Items
========
**Cornerstone Mask**: Ogerpon-C must hold this item.

Tera
========
Ogerpon-C appreciates being a Tera Captain, as the raw power boost it provides to Ivy Cudgel contributes to Ogerpon-C's offensive capabilities. The Defense boost that comes with Embody Aspect also enables bulky setup sets to boost more easily and makes Ogerpon-C more resilient to priority moves in general. However, Ogerpon-C is locked into the pure Rock typing when it Terastallizes, and most drafts can usually find a better Tera Captain.

Draft Strategy
========
Ogerpon-C should not be the centerpiece of a draft, but it can be used as a secondary wallbreaker or sweeper to complement stronger partners. Good entry hazard and speed control are also vital to Ogerpon-C's performance, as it is locked into the Cornerstone Mask and cannot alleviate these weaknesses using items by itself.

**Good Entry Hazard Control**: Ogerpon-C cannot run Heavy-Duty Boots and is therefore liable to getting worn down over the course of a game by hazards. Good hazard control ensures the damage it takes from entry hazards is mitigated and allows it to stay around for longer. It also means it is easier for Ogerpon-C to keep Sturdy active for use in the game. Rapid Spin is preferred so your own hazards stay up: Pokemon like Great Tusk and Iron Treads therefore make premier partners, while picks like Cyclizar and Forretress can also provide Rapid Spin and other utility.

**Speed Control**: Ogerpon-C cannot run Choice Scarf and therefore cannot act as reliable speed control outside of niche priority attacks. As such, it is important to draft Pokemon that can act as speed control, like Iron Valiant, Greninja, and Cinderace, to keep strong threats from sweeping your team.

**Special Wallbreakers**: Special wallbreakers can greatly complement the offensive pressure Ogerpon-C exerts. Partners like Enamorus, Volcarona, and Latios scare away the Pokemon that can act as stops to Ogerpon-C, and in return it can pivot them into the game.

**Pivots**: Pokemon with access to pivoting moves are greatly appreciated, both on the defensive and offensive side of the spectrum. Pokemon like Galarian Slowking, Corviknight, and Rotom-W can slow pivot Ogerpon-C into the game, allowing it to hit the field without worrying about tanking a hit with its average defenses and weakness to entry hazards. Offensive pivots are also great picks: Ogerpon-C having access to U-turn is great, but other pivot move users ensure it is not pressured into this role every game.

**Status / Burn Absorbers**: Given Ogerpon-C cannot hold Lum Berry, Pokemon that can easily switch into incoming Will-O-Wisps are greatly appreciated.

Checks and Counters
========
**Entry Hazards**: Entry hazards will always cut into Ogerpon-C's longevity and break its Sturdy, as it cannot run Heavy-Duty Boots, thus reducing the number of times it can hit the field and therefore the work it puts in.

**Faster Threats**: Ogerpon-C is fast but outpaced by a decent cast of Pokemon. Due to its inability to run Choice Scarf, Ogerpon-C variants not running Trailblaze will always be forced out by faster threats, like Sneasler and Tornadus-T. Even if Ogerpon-C chooses to run Trailblaze, it can still be outsped by faster Choice Scarf Pokemon, and finding an opportunity to use Trailblaze can be difficult against most teams.

**Priority Attacks**: Ogerpon-C has average bulk, and given that it really wants to invest in Attack and Speed, most variants of Ogerpon-C will be weak to priority attacks. Pokemon like Scizor and Metagross, which can OHKO Ogerpon-C with a super effective Bullet Punch, and Palafin-H, which has a strong neutral Jet Punch to pick off a weakened Ogerpon-C, can generally force it out.

**Physical Walls**: Physically defensive Pokemon, like Skarmory, Forretress, and Landorus-T, can switch into an unboosted Ogerpon-C and force it out. Ogerpon-C suffers from four-moveslot syndrome and cannot always fit all the coverage it wants, so Steel- and Fighting- types can sometimes be good stops to it.

[overview]
**Draft order**: Late Round 3 onwards

**Price range**: 13-14

**Overview**: Ogerpon-Cornerstone is one of four Ogerpon formes and brings good offensive presence and utility to the table. (expand this sentence to summarize what it actually does more. maybe move part of the following sentences here) Ogerpon-C's part Rock- and Grass-typing enables its to hit a generous portion of Pokemon well, in part thanks to its decent Attack and Speed stat and its excellent signature move, Ivy Cudgel. With Swords Dance and Trailblaze to set up, as well as great coverage moves, Ogerpon-C can become a potent sweeper and wallbreaker. Access to utility moves also enable Ogerpon-C to contribute to the team even in worse its difficult matchups. However, it is locked to the Cornerstone Mask item and misses the ability to run items like Choice Scarf and Heavy Duty Boots, so speed control and good hazard control is from teammates is appreciated. In spite of this, Ogerpon-C remains a great Pokemon and a great addition to many drafts. (overselling it a bit; feel free to change this sentence instead)

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Wallbreaker and Sweeper**: With the use of Swords Dance, few Pokemon can stand up to Ogerpon-C's boosted Ivy Cudgel and Grass-STAB, and the use of Trailblaze can limit offensive counterplay so Ogerpon-C can sweep completely. Pokemon that can stomach a hit from Ogerpon are potentially weak to its coverage, such as Superpower, Low Kick, or Stomping Tantrum to hit Steels, and Play Rough to hit Fighting types. (Split into two roles to make it more consistent with other analyses)

**Setup Sweeper**:

**Offensive Utility**: Ogerpon-C gets a plethora of utility options that can support its teammates in a match, even when its wallbreaking capabilities are limited. These include Spikes, Knock Off, Taunt, Encore and U-Turn.

**Entry Hazard Lead**:

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Horn Leech, Ivy Cudgel, (Move Ivy Cudgel to 1st) Power Whip, Wood Hammer

**Setup moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze

**Utility moves**: Encore, Leech Seed, Spikes, Substitute, Synthesis, Taunt, U-Turn, Brick Break, Spiky Shield

**Coverage**: Knock Off, Lash Out, Low Kick, Play Rough, Stomping Tantrum, Superpower, Throat Chop, Zen Headbutt (Move tantrum up; it uses that to hit steels)

Niche Moves
========
**Reversal / Counter**: Both of these moves have nice synergy with Ogerpon-C's Sturdy ability, allowing its to take one strong hit and deal big damage in return.

**Quick Attack**: This priority attack can be nice for Ogerpon-C to revenge kill faster weakened foes, acting as an emergency check to some setup or wallbreaking threats.

**Grassy Glide**: This is another strong priority option that can be strong on Grassy Terrain teams. (Grassy terrain teams with cornerstone don't really exist; I'd change this to say it can be used against grassy terrain teams or with manual terrain)

**Sandstorm**: Sandstorm can be situationally useful to increase Ogerpon-C's special bulk. (This is really hard to justify clicking)

**Focus Energy**: Focus Energy allows Ogerpon-C's Ivy Cudgel to crit 100% of the time, amplifying its damage output and ignoring any opposing Pokemon trying to boost their Defense stat or lower Ogerpon's attack via Intimidate.

Common Items
========
One of Ogerpon-C's biggest drawbacks is that it is limited to the **Cornerstone Mask** item, which takes a lot of flexibility away from its gameplan. However, in of itself the Cornerstone Mask is not a bad item, providing a Life Orb-esque boost without any drawback. (You don't need all of this; look at the Hearthflame and Wellspring analyses to see how they handled it)

Tera
========
You should very rarely consider Ogerpon-C for Tera Captain. Unfortunately, its special Tera forme gives its a defensively oriented ability (ratherthan the offensively oriented ones Ogerpon-Heartflame or -Teal get access to), which does not synergise well with the pure Rock typing it is locked into. It also loses access to Sturdy, which is generally a more useful ability than the raw defence boost it gets. In Draft Leagues where Tera is not restricted to Tera Captains, Tera Rock Ogerpon-C can be situationally useful to amplify its Ivy Cudgel's and increase resilience in the face of some priority attacks, which can help enable a sweep. However, in any draft you take, there will almost certainly be better options for a Tera Captain.

Draft Strategy
========
Ogerpon-C is not often the centerpiece of a draft but can be used as a secondary wallbreaker or sweeper to complement other partners. Good entry hazard and speed control are also vital to Ogerpon-C's performance, as it is locked into the Cornerstone Mask and cannot alleviate these weaknesses using items by itself.

**Good hazard control**: Ogerpon-C cannot run the Heavy Duty Boots item and is therefore liable to getting worn down over the course of a game by hazards. Good hazard control ensures the damage it takes from entry hazards is mitigated and allows its to stay around for longer. Rapid Spin is preferred so your own hazards stay up: Pokemon like Great Tusk and Iron Treads therefore make great premier partners, while picks like Cyclizar and Forretress can also provide Rapid Spin and other utility. Other options do exist, like Court Change Cinderace or Magic Bounce Hatterene. (Mention keeping Sturdy intact either here, or in the checks/counters section)

**Speed control**: Ogerpon-C cannot run the Choice Scarf item and thanks to its base 110 speed cannot act as reliable speed control outside of niche priority attacks. Therefore it is important to draft Pokemon that can act as speed control, like Iron Valiant, Greninja, or Cinderace, and keep strong threats from sweeping your team.

Pokemon like Slowking-Galar, Corviknight, and Rotom-Wash can slow pivot Ogerpon-C into the game, allowing its to hit the field without worrying about tanking a hit with its average defenses, which are exacerabted by the fact Ogerpon-C is quite hazard weak. Offensive pivots are also a great pick: Ogerpon-C having access to U-Turn is great, but other pivot users ensure it is not pressured into this role every game.

Checks and Counters
========
**Entry Hazards**: As aforementioned, entry hazards will always cut into Ogerpon-C's longevity as it cannot run Heavy Duty Boots, thus reducing the number of times it can hit the field and therefore the work it puts in.

**Faster threats**: Sitting at 110 base speed, Ogerpon-C is fast but outpaced by a decent cast of Pokemon. Due to its inability to run Choice Scarf, Ogerpon-C variants not running Trailblaze will always be forced out by faster threats, like Sneasler and Tornadus-Therian. (specify that trailblaze sets can still get outsped by faster scarf users and it can be difficult to actually get the trailblaze boost against some teams. Also include priority here; it's weak to mach, bullet, vacuum, ice shard, etc)

**Physical stops**: Physically defensive Pokemon, like Skarmory, Forretress, and Landorus-Therian, can switch into an unboosted Ogerpon-C and force it out. Ogerpon-C suffers from 4mss and cannot always fit all the coverage it wants, so Steel- and Fighting- types can sometimes be good stops to it.

could mention solar-blade on sun teams, this is mega niche tho lol
there was also a time where we ran charm ogerpon in trios but i'm not dying on that hill, it's a good way to stop physical checks as they switch in and give u a turn to click sd

might just be me but this feels a tiny bit too negative towards tera pon? it's not the best but on teams with like tera-banned high tiers its more than functional, tera rock cudgel is very difficult to wall consistently, small sample size but 3/4 oger-c's drafted in winter ssnl were tera caps

Draft Strategy

maybe a better pokemon here than forretress? maybe mention ting-lu/gliscor for hazard stack? without tera oger-c kinda struggles to one shot stuff so it appreciates things being worn down

**Speed control**: Ogerpon-C cannot run the Choice Scarf item and thanks to its base 110 speed therefore cannot this feels worded awkwardly as i do understand the point but 110 speed is pretty good also act as reliable speed control outside of niche priority attacks. Therefore As such, it is important to draft Pokemon that can act as speed control, like Iron Valiant, Greninja, or Cinderace, and keep strong threats from sweeping your team.

i'd maybe mention status/burn absorbers because ogerpon can't hold lum berry and it can't do much if burned

idk if 4mss is qc friendly it just looked a little awkward to me :)

However, in any draft you take, there will almost certainly be better options for a Tera Captain: it's not awful but it's certainly outclassed.
This is generally too negative toward Tera Ogerpon-C. Grass/Rock is a really nice offensive typing and the powered up Ivy Cudgel is really strong. The Defense boost lets it set up easier too and run bulkier setup sets with Synthesis to stay comfortably out of priority range. If you want to communicate that there are generally better options, that's fine, but this is overall too negative. Focusing on the positives of the Defense boost rather than it not being ideal for an offensive mon would make this a lot better.

[overview]
**Draft order**: Late Round round 3 onwards

**Price range**: 13-14 points

**Overview**: Ogerpon-Cornerstone Ogerpon-C brings good offensive presence and utility to the table thanks to its part Rock- and Grass-typing Rock and Grass typing. This enables it to hit a generous portion of Pokemon well, also (new idea, so transitioning to it) in part thanks to its decent Attack and Speed stat and its excellent signature move, Ivy Cudgel. With Swords Dance and Trailblaze to set up, as well as great coverage moves, Ogerpon-C can become a potent sweeper and wallbreaker. Access to utility moves also enable enables Ogerpon-C to contribute to the team even in its difficult matchups. However, it is locked to the Cornerstone Mask item and misses the ability to run items like Choice Scarf and Heavy-Duty (AH) Boots, so speed control and good entry hazard control from teammates is are appreciated.

Common Roles
========
**Wallbreaker**: With the use of Swords Dance, few Pokemon can stand up to Ogerpon-C's boosted Ivy Cudgel and Grass-STAB Grass-type STAB moves. Pokemon that can stomach a hit from Ogerpon Ogerpon-C are potentially weak to its coverage, such as Superpower, Low Kick, or and Stomping Tantrum to hit Steel-types Steel-type (RC) and Play Rough to hit Fighting-types.

**Setup Sweeper**: With Trailblaze to boost its speed Speed, Ogerpon-C becomes a monstrous setup sweeper that is potentially very difficult to stop. However, (AC) this variant typically wants Swords Dance as well, and combined with the fact Trailblaze is quite weak, Ogerpon-C can sometimes struggle to fit all the moves it wants.

**Offensive Utility**: Ogerpon-C has a plethora of utility options that can support its teammates in a match, even when its wallbreaking capabilities are limited. These include Spikes, Knock Off, Taunt, Encore, (AC) and U-Turn U-turn.

**Entry Hazard Lead**: Thanks to its Sturdy ability, Ogerpon-C almost always gets to throw down set at least one layer of Spikes, making it an ideal entry hazard lead.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB moves**: Ivy Cudgel, Horn Leech, Power Whip, Wood Hammer

**Setup moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze

**Utility moves**: Encore, Leech Seed, Spikes, Substitute, Synthesis, Taunt, U-Turn U-turn, Brick Break, Spiky Shield

**Coverage**: Stomping Tantrum, Knock Off, Low Kick, Play Rough, Superpower, Throat Chop, Zen Headbutt

Niche Moves
========
**Reversal / Counter**: Both of these moves have nice synergy with Ogerpon-C's Sturdy ability, allowing its Ogerpon-C to take one strong hit and deal big damage in return.

**Quick Attack**: This priority attack can be nice for Ogerpon-C to revenge kill faster weakened foes, acting letting it act as an emergency check to some setup or wallbreaking threats.

**Focus Energy**: Focus Energy allows Ogerpon-C's Ivy Cudgel to crit get a critical hit 100% of the time, amplifying its damage output and ignoring any opposing Pokemon trying to boost their Defense stat or lower Ogerpon's attack Ogerpon-C's Attack via Intimidate.

Common Items
========
**Cornerstone Mask**: Ogerpon-C must hold this item.

Tera
========
Ogerpon-C appreciates being a Tera Captain, as the raw power boost it provides to Ivy Cudgel contributes to Ogerpon-C's offensive capabilities. The defense Defense boost that comes with Ogerpon-C's Embody Aspect ability also enables bulky setup sets to boost more easily and also makes Ogerpon-C more resilient to priority moves in general. However, (AC) Ogerpon-C is locked into the pure Rock typing when it Terastallizes, and most drafts can usually find a better Tera Captain.

Draft Strategy
========

**Good hazard control Entry Hazard Control**: Ogerpon-C cannot run the Heavy-Duty (AH) Boots item and is therefore liable to getting worn down over the course of a game by hazards. Good hazard control ensures the damage it takes from entry hazards is mitigated and allows its it to stay around for longer. It also means it is easier for Ogerpon-C to keep its Sturdy ability active for use in the game. Rapid Spin is preferred so your own hazards stay up: Pokemon like Great Tusk and Iron Treads therefore make great premier partners (redundant, can use either great or premier if you want), while picks like Cyclizar and Forretress can also provide Rapid Spin and other utility.

**Speed control Control**: Ogerpon-C cannot run the Choice Scarf item and therefore cannot act as reliable speed control outside of niche priority attacks. As such, it is important to draft Pokemon that can act as speed control, like Iron Valiant, Greninja, or and Cinderace, and to (not separate ideas, so link them) keep strong threats from sweeping your team.

**Special wallbreakers Wallbreakers**: Special wallbreakers can greatly complement the offensive pressure Ogerpon-C exerts.

Pokemon like Slowking-Galar Galarian Slowking, Corviknight, and Rotom-Wash Rotom-W can slow pivot Ogerpon-C into the game, allowing its it to hit the field without worrying about tanking a hit with its average defenses and weakness to entry hazards, which are exacerabted by the fact Ogerpon-C is quite hazard weak (you can't really exacerbate something that's average, it amplifies an existing extreme). Offensive pivots are also a great pick picks: Ogerpon-C having access to U-Turn U-turn is great, but other pivot move users ensure it is not pressured into this role every game.

**Status / Burn absorbers Absorbers**: Given Ogerpon-C cannot hold the Lum Berry item, Pokemon that can easily switch into incoming Wisps Will-O-Wisps are greatly appreciated.

Checks and Counters
========
**Entry Hazards**: Entry hazards will always cut into Ogerpon-C's longevity and break its Sturdy, (AC) as it cannot run Heavy-Duty (AH) Boots, thus reducing the number of times it can hit the field and therefore the work it puts in.

**Faster threats Threats**: Sitting at 110 base speed, (dex info) Ogerpon-C is fast but outpaced by a decent cast of Pokemon. Due to its inability to run Choice Scarf, Ogerpon-C variants not running Trailblaze will always be forced out by faster threats, like Sneasler and Tornadus-Therian Tornadus-T. Even if Ogerpon-C chooses to run Trailblaze, it can still be outsped by faster Choice Scarf pokemon Pokemon, and finding an opportunity to click use Trailblaze can be difficult into against most teams.

**Priority attacks Attacks**: Ogerpon-C has average bulk, and given that it really wants to invest in Attack and Speed, most variants of Ogerpon-C will be weak to priority attacks. Pokemon like Scizor and Metagross, who which can OHKO Ogerpon-C with a supereffective super effective Bullet Punch, and Palafin-Hero Palafin-H, who which has a strong neutral Jet Punch to pick off a weakened Ogerpon-C's Ogerpon-C, can generally force it out.

**Physical walls Walls**: Physically defensive Pokemon, like Skarmory, Forretress, and Landorus-Therian Landorus-T, can switch into an unboosted Ogerpon-C and force it out. Ogerpon-C suffers from 4 four-moveslot (AH) syndrome and cannot always fit all the coverage it wants, so Steel- and Fighting- types can sometimes be good stops to it.
